It was like any other summer, to most people anyway. The hot humidity and the warm breeze at the beach was a good way of describing Los Angles during the summertime. Although, after the summer of 2004, some students of Marc Brown High will leave the summer behind with a haunting memory they will live with forever.

"Shit! Matt stop, I think I blew another tire," Zoë exclaimed angrily.
Matt pulled his brakes to slow down and tried to turn around without whacking his face with the branches, so he could reach Zoë, his girlfriend.
Struggling to turn without hurting himself he sighed and said in a sarcastic tone, "What'd you run over this time?"
Zoë sent him a cold look and said," I don't know, it just popped."
"We should start heading back then. By the time we get out this stupid forest it will be dark and then I'll drop you off at home," said Matt.
Matt and Zoë started walking back through the shrubs and trees and quite often heard noises in every direction and they were very cautious and nervous about their surroundings. By the time the sun almost sat Matt and Zoë were still deep in the forest.
"Matt where are we," Zoë asked nervously.
"We're uhm...in a deep dark spooky forest."
"Matt, don't do that and be serious because chances are we're lost!" Zoë gave him a playful slap.
Suddenly a big shadow ran across Matt and Zo's view. Both of them jerked back a step and Zoë sacredly whispered, "Matt, what was that, I'm scared."
Before anything else could happen Matt said, "We should leave our bikes here and then tomorrow we'll get 'em."
Both teenagers dropped their bikes and walked nervously through the spooky forest trying to get home. The tall trees wavered in night breeze along with animals conversing to each other. Every step the couple made had a strange echo as if it weren't their own.
Suddenly Zoë let out a choked gasp and her arm was savaged ripped from Matt's arm and before Matt knew it Zoë had disappeared from sight.
