**authors notes: well im going to try make a habit of riting shorter
chapters b/c I have NO idea y my ff.net is cutting off half my chapters!
When I get the time I'm going to re-read all ma chapters to make sure
they're not chopped. So you all know, chapter 9 was cut in half and heaps
of the story was missing, so if u all want, go back and re-read it.. It'll
prob make more sense now! Also im thinking of changing the rating 4 this
story to N-17 because it's getting a little sexual than it was b4- but leme
no if u want more or less implied sexual content.**
Ch14: lovers and haters
Janet had allowed Sam to leave the infirmary around lunchtime. Since it was about lunchtime, Nat and Janet accompanied Sam to the mess hall for lunch.
"I can't believe Marty asked you to marry him!" Nat squealed.
"Yeah, I think it's about time one of them made a move, dontcha think?" Janet smiled. But Sam didn't look happy.
"Sam?" What's wrong?" Nat asked.
"It's Jack. You both know how I've always had a thing for Jack as well as Martouf. When Martouf proposed, I saw the hurt look on Jack's face. I want to be with Martouf, but after seeing that picture of my marriage with Jack, I don't know whether I should really be with Martouf or Jack," Sam explained. "In the future, do you remember me or the others telling you anything about my engagement to Martouf?" Sam asked Nat.
Nat shook her head. "No. I think you didn't tell me because you knew I'd be asked. But personally I think you should decide on whom you love more. Don't let anything you know about the future influence your decision," Nat explained. 'But I do remember Sam wearing that ring in the future,' Nat thought to herself.
"She's right. If you really love Martouf, then stay with him," Janet commented.
Sam ran her hand through her hair. "I like Martouf, but I can't get the look on Jack's face out of my head."
"Well, here comes Martouf," Nat said as she nodded in Marty's direction.
"Sam," Martouf smiled. He quickly kissed Sam then crouched down next to Sam's chair. "Your father and I must leave now."
"Leave?" Sam asked. "Why?" she asked, putting her hand on Martouf's arm. Nat and Janet smiled at each other.
"Now that I know you are going to be okay, we must go and tell the Tok'ra council about what has happened these last few days. I will be back in a couple days. I have already asked General Hammond, and he says that if you agree, I am allowed to take you back to our Tok'ra base with me to celebrate our engagement," Martouf smiled as he put his own hand on top of Sam's.
"Can we come too?" Nat asked. Martouf nodded.
"All of Samantha's friends are welcome to come," Martouf replied. "Natalie, since I am going back to the Tok'ra base now, would you like to accompany myself and Jacob so that you may tell the council about Kian's mission. He has not returned back from his mission, and you are the only one who possesses all the knowledge that he does," Martouf asked.
"I'll go ask General Hammond. But I need to be back by tomorrow for New Years," Nat replied then left the room.
Martouf looked back at Sam and kissed her before exiting the room. After watching Martouf leave the room, Sam looked back at Janet. She was grinning from ear to ear.
"What's so funny?" Sam asked, trying to hide the smile on her own face.
"You love him," Janet replied. "So when can we go shopping for clothes to wear on your engagement?"

[December 31, 2002: It's been two days since Nerti and Amaunet escaped. After Teal'c gave me the keys to Nat's apartment, I decided that considering what we'd both been through, we'd need to talk. Yesterday I decided that making her breakfast would ease up any tension or uneasy feelings between Nat and myself. After breakfast (and after throwing out half the eggs I cooked), Nat and I sat down and had a chat. I told her how I broke up with Sha're and how I preferred to be with Natalie. Nat told me that her feelings for me were mutual, but she hasn't yet learnt how to control the emotions and memories of Sha're and Amaunet. She's agreed to see the SGC psychologist (I can't remember his name) next week. Yesterday morning, Sam woke up from her short coma. Dr Frasier called us up later that morning and told us that Sam had woken up AND that Martouf had proposed. On our way to the SGC yesterday, Nat and I told Teal'c and the three of us went to the SGC together. While Nat had lunch with Sam and Janet, Teal'c and I went to talk to Jack. He was sulking in the gym. It took us 5 minutes for us to persuade Jack to stop punching the punching bag to talk to us. I had to get Teal'c to grab Jack's arms to make him stop.
Although Jack doesn't usually tell us how he's really feeling but this time he didn't really need to. We could see it on his face. After all the jokes Teal'c and I have cracked about Jack liking Sam, Jack would always deny that he liked her in that way. Yesterday he told us how he didn't know whether to let her be happy with Martouf, or to tell Sam how he really feels. Teal'c and I both told Jack that he needed to tell Sam before she marries Martouf. Sam was allowed to go home today but instead of going home, she went straight back to her lab. She's probably been working on another invention. Whatever it is, she'll probably show us when she's finished. Janet persuaded her that there are more important things to do than work. So Sam and Janet decided to go shopping for things to wear to the engagement party.
Martouf and Jacob went back to their Tok'ra home planet to update the council on Nerti and Amaunet. Nat went with them to tell them about Kian's mission. She should be back today for our New Year's Eve party that Teal'c invited us to. He'd asked us to spend New Year's Eve at his apartment so that he can become more accustomed to 'Earth culture.' I'm interested to see how everything pans out tonight.]

Natalie walked around her apartment trying to find her shoe. "WHERE is it!!" She cursed to herself. She was dressed and ready to go to Teal'cs apartment across the hall, but all that stopped her was her one shoe.
*ding dong*
"It's open!" Nat called as she ran frantically around her apartment. Daniel opened the door and looked around the apartment.
"Nat?" He called as he realized that Nat was nowhere to be found.
"In the bedroom!" Nat called back. She slapped herself on the forehead for realizing that what she said had sounded kind of sexual. "I'm trying to find my damn shoe!" She lifted up her jacket off the bed and found the shoe under her jacket. "How the hell did it get here?" She asked herself. Nat shrugged and walked out of her room to go into the living room, but bumped right into Daniel. Her face collided with Daniel's chest.
"Ow!" Nat complained as she rubbed her nose. Daniel rubbed one of his pecks and muttered an 'ow' also.
Nat blushed when she realized what she had done. "Sorry Dan! You okay?" She asked, as she put her shoe on. Dan didn't reply because he released that Nat was wearing a low V-neck shirt and when she bent down to put on her shoes, he could see right down her top. Nat straightened up after putting on her shoe and saw that Daniel's face was red. "Are you okay? I didn't hurt you did I?" She repeated. Dan cleared his throat and managed an 'I'm alright.'
"So, are you ready to head off?" Dan asked as he picked Nat's jacket off the bed. She nodded, then shook her head. "What?"
"My bag!" Nat squealed then ran out of the room, frantically looking for her bag. Dan huffed and lay down on the bed. His arm flopped over the side of the bed and hit something. "Nat! I found your bag!" He called, still lying on the bed.
Nat came in and smiled. "Where was it?" Nat asked as he walked towards the bed. Dan told her how it was right next to the bed. She got on the bed and crawled up to Daniel, who was holding the bag in the air. Nat crawled right up to him and reached for the bag, but Daniel pulled it further away from Nat. Nat smiled as she leaned over Daniel's body to grab the bag. Daniel blushed again when he realized that her boobs were right in his face. Nat snatched the bag back and lay on the bed next to Daniel as she went through it to see if everything was in it. Dan rolled over and propped his head up, with his elbow in the pillow.
"Okay, I think I got everything now," Nat smiled. She looked at Dan. "Ready to go?" She asked. Dan put one hand on Nat's hip and smiled.
"Before we go.." Dan drifted off as he leaned in to kiss Nat. She prayed that this time they wouldn't be cut off when Daniel's lips reached her own. Nat threw the bag onto the floor and wrapped her arms around Dan's neck. Daniel put his hand on Nat's shoulder to push her onto her back. Nat ran one hand through his hair while the other slowly ran down Dan's back. Daniel put one hand back on Nat's stomach and ran it across to her hip. Nat let out a little moan as Dan's thumb ran up and down her hipbone. Nat pushed her tongue through Daniel's lips, which only made Daniel feel hotter. Their pulses racing, it felt like the room was heating up. Nat's hand ran down to Daniel's belt. Her thumb tracing the flesh where skin and belt met. Dan's hand ran slowly up Nat's stomach to her chest.
*ding dong*
"Oh for crying out LOUD!" Nat muttered as she pulled away from Daniel. Dan moaned at the interruption as they both got off the bed. Nat readjusted her hair and clothing as Daniel got the door. As Nat got her jacket and bag, she could hear Daniel opening the door.
"Jack. We were just going to walk over to Teal'cs."
"Daniel. Cant say I'm surprised to see you here," Jack let out a cheeky smile as he looked over Dan's shoulder for Nat. "Well I'd hate to sound cliché, but can Teal'c borrow some sugar?" Jack smiled. "He's tried making a cake, but he didn't realize he was out of sugar."
"Hey Jack! Yeah I'll go get it!" Nat called from the other room.
"So how are you feeling?" Dan asked quietly as Nat was still in the kitchen looking for some sugar.
"Sam's happy. I'll live."
