In the Eyes of the Be Holder
Prologue
Erik was pacing back and forth. Nadir had told him he was bringing company. He had to admit, when he told him that his temper got out of control. He said some pretty bad things to Nadir that he really didn't mean. All Erik knew was that she had to stay with him for a while. He knew that Nadir helped her and now they are friends.
Erik didn't know what to think. Because he was going to have guest, he cleaned up the mess around his organ. The pieces of music were picked up and neatly stacked to one side. He made sure that all pieces of Don Juan were out of sight, in his room.
He took a quick look around the place, every thing was nice and neat, not that he had to do much any way. All he really needed to do was clean up his music. He made sure that all the doors were closed. It's been five years since Christine. He walked to her bedroom, which would hold yet another female. The only person to ever have this room was Christine. He was a bit reluctant to let any one else sleep in there. He had barely touched it these past five years.
How he missed her, but he couldn't let that get to him. He shook his head to get himself out of the past, out of the dreams. He needed to go to the lake and wait for them. Something told Erik in his gut that this wouldn't be as easy as it seemed. Something was just out of place. Nadir wouldn't say much about her. Come to think of it, he thought, it was a miracle Nadir talked him into this.
He quickly gabbed his cape and hat and was on his way. He was only waiting for about ten minutes when a small, well crafted, wooden boat slowly came to the shore. In it were two figures, one he knew, it was Nadir. The other he assumed was his guest. Nadir slowly stepped put of the boat, and then offered his hand out to a young lady. She took it, but slowly.
She was up to his cheat in height, and was very thin. She had long flowing brown hair that hung behind her back. Her eyes were hidden from his view. She stood very still next to Nadir; it was almost like she were a statue. Nadir looked from her to Erik.
"How are you Erik?" He asked.
"I could be better and you know it." "Yes well…." He paused. "…Are you sure you don't mind?" "It doesn't look like I have much of a choice in the matter." Erik said a little annoyed.
"Yes you do you always do." said Nadir quickly.
"Well you certainly didn't give me much choice on this matter." Erik replied.
"You always do that to me." Nadir defended. There was a pause full of dead silence.
Nadir walked back to was the lady was standing and pulled out a small suitcase from the boat.
"This is her stuff. She shouldn't be much trouble." He said. He put the suitcase down and turned towards the lady. He grabbed her hand softly.
"Erik, meet Mary DerBaberac, She's blind."
