I DO NOT OWN SHAMAN KING.
Chapter Three – You, I Blame
He found her with ease. She was standing in the middle of a road, holding a black umbrella she seemed to have taken from a shop nearby; it was very Anna-like. She was wearing her usual dark dress. It was a little tattered and moist, but it was definitely the same black dress she usually wore. Her hair was the same usual shade of yellow and the same length. A little messy and wet, but otherwise, her hair was as normal as it could be.
However, when Yoh called for her, he saw what had changed. As Anna turned her head towards him, he saw her lifeless eyes, hollow and void of any emotion. He saw her mouth curve into a cruel smile when her eyes spotted him.
Slowly, the girl walked up to her fiancé, smiling the same cruel smile all the way.
"A-Anna... What happened to you?" Yoh asked, concerned. After hearing his question, the addressed girl laughed a hollow laugh. Then, she abruptly stopped and glared.
"What did happen to me, I wonder. You tell me, Asakura Yoh. What happened to me?" she asked. Yoh was surprised by her sudden change of actions and was taken back by her glare. Sure, she had glared at him umpteen times, but this glare was more powerful. It was much more filled with the sorrowful emotion she had always shown in her glares.
"I...I-"Yoh said. However, he could not finish his sentence. Anna smiled again.
"I'll tell you what happened. YOU betrayed my trust. YOU dishonored me. YOU disrespected me. YOU broke me. YOU dropped my heart and it shattered. YOU caused me to lose my way and get lost. YOU killed ME. YOU stabbed my heart from the back and ripped me apart piece by piece. I DIED... AGAIN. I thought you saved me from my emptiness. But you just put me right back in that room of nothingness. You killed me again after reviving me. THAT'S what happened, Asakura Yoh," Anna said with a voice laced with purely venom and hate.
After looking at Yoh's shocked face for a while, Anna turned around and swiftly walked away. Yoh stared at her back, dumbstruck by her words. Finally, when he regained himself, he saw that Anna was long gone and he was soaked by the rain. Quickly, he went to the house he stayed in 7 years ago. He got ready to sleep and laid on the futon. However, Yoh did not fall asleep until long after he laid down. Anna's words still plagued his mind.
"Was I really the cause of her pain? Was it all my fault? Is it me who has to take the blame? Can this Anna be right? Have I caused her to change that dramatically? I never meant to... I never meant to hurt her.. I never meant to break anything with her... I just wanted to become closer to her. Closer than ever... But... What did I do wrong? What did I do??" Yoh thought as he stared at the ceiling of the room.
Soon, he got tired of looking at the plain ceiling and turned to his side to look out the window. What he saw reminded him of a certain something. The sky was totally painted with black with small stars. The moon was no where to be seen. What did this remind him of? Anna. Anna's heart. Anna's mind. The black represented her pessimistic side, her depressed side, her pained side. However, she still could be saved and those hope were the small stars, glittering brightly.
Anna...
Yoh smiled when he thought about the occasional happy times he spent with Anna. He felt more at peace and reassured himself that it was not his fault. That it was all a misunderstanding and that he never meant to do anything to Anna. Feeling a little better but still very troubled, Yoh finally fell asleep.
Meanwhile, the girl who occupied Yoh's mind stared at him through the window he was looking at before. The oni materialized behind Anna and stared at the boy as well.
"He sure looks troubled. Maybe you were too harsh on him Mother." The oni spoke. Anna shook her head.
"We should play with him for a little fun before we kill him. Just killing him will be too dull. Besides, if what I did today was too harsh on him, that means he isn't even worth playing with or KILLING for that matter. He'll be fine." The oni smirked at the words spoken by Anna.
"If you say so Mother. When am I going to get to kill him?"
"When I get bored of him, which, I think, will be pretty soon," Anna replied with a light shrug. "Let's go back. I'm tired."
"Yes, Mother."

FINALLY DONE WITH CHAPTER THREE!! YAY! throws a party Anyway, I think people are expecting.. TOO happy results. Note that I changed the rating from PG to PG-13 because... something not too happy is going to happen. Please do NOT expect a happy happy ending where Anna and Yoh apologize to each other, gets married, and lives happily ever after. Else, you WILL be disappointed.
