I DO NOT OWN SHAMAN KING.
Epilogue
A gentle breeze played with a certain blond's hair as she proudly looked up at the newly built building in Funbari. It was a school. Last year, Kyouyama Anna - or rather - Asakura Anna, had changed the house she occupied to a shaman school for all ages.
After much reminicing about the history she had in the house, Anna finally walked away. Without her knowing, her feet carried her to a very familiar place. At this place, there were 2 tombstones. The first was for the legendary samurai Amidamaru. The second one was for the one person she had loved with all her heart. It was her husband, Asakura Yoh. Anna knelt in front of his tombstone and smiled lightly.
"Yoh. I set up the shaman school you wanted and I put your friends in charge of it. Ren... Horo Horo... Pilica... Tamao... Manta... Ryu... Lyserg... Faust... Jeanne... Chocolove... And whoever I forgot to mention. Do you know how hard they took the message 2 years ago? They almost murdered me. But of course, I was ready to kill myself and didn't need their assistance. However, after meeting with Kino-sensei, I decided to live. I'm happy that I was able to fufill your dream for you. Yoh... Why'd you have to go?" Anna said, tears slowly rolling off her cheeks. She thought back to those times. The day he left her and on.
"YOH!!" Anna screamed as she saw her finace's body falling to the ground. She hugged his body to her as she looked up and glared at the oni. However, it just laughed as it disappeared into the air.
Why? Why did she have to be so stupid? Why did she have to be so impulsive? If she didn't make that mistake, he wouldn't be like this.
Suddenly, Anna felt a hand on her cheek. She looked down to see Yoh smiling at her with pain filled eyes. Slowly, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a ring. It was a simple ring of gold with her name and his engraved inside. Anna stared at the ring in wonder as Yoh spoke.
"...Anna... Heh... This isn't the best time... but... I really wanted to ask you... Anna... I know we're engaged already but I wanted to do this anyway... Please, Anna... I love you. Will you marry me?"
Anna stared down at her finace in shock. But soon, a smile dawned on her face as she nodded. Yoh smiled weakly and he started to close his eyes.
"Thats... go..od...." The words escaped his mouth as his hand fell limp next to him. The ring fell out of his hands and rolled onto the ground. The smile on Anna's face dropped as she felt the warmth of his body leaving. Her eyes widened in panic as she saw that his chest stopped moving.
"Yoh? Yoh?! YOH!" Anna shouted, as she shook his body. It was no use. He was dead. Anna felt everything leave her. Her life, her love, her heart, her emotions, just... her. Everything just left her as she stared at her dead finace. Finally, after a while, she stood up and started to drag Yoh's body down back to the town. There, she called the Asakura family. The next day, Mikihisa, Yoh's father, came to pick Anna up. He also took Yoh's body and they went to Funbari, where Yoh and Anna lived.
Somehow, when they arrived, everyone was home. All of Yoh's friends, Kino, Yohmei, and Keiko. As soon as they saw Yoh's body, they all turned white. After some silence, Horo Horo burst out laughing.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA! Stop kidding with us Yoh!" he said as he neared the body. His hand shook as started to lightly slap Yoh on the face. "...Yoh?"
Then, Faust walked up and checked Yoh's pulse. His hand also shook as he put them down and looked up.
"...There is no pulse," Faust declared. Tamao, Pilica, and Keiko started to cry. Kino, Yohmei, and Mikihisa lowered their heads. Everyone else was just stunned and couldn't say anything. Just then, Horo Horo looked at Anna. She wasn't doing anything. No tears, no sobs, no feelings. She looked indifferent about the whole thing. This got him mad. He marched up to her and hit her, using the back of his right hand. Anna didn't move as she took the blow and was sent to the ground by the force. Everyone gasped at Horo Horo.
"...It.. It's all YOUR fault! It's YOUR fault HE is DEAD! I thought that even if you were cruel to him, you loved him! But look at you now! You're indifferent about this!!"
Anna just stared at him with her blank black eyes. Horo Horo got even more angry, but before he could do anything, Ren held him back. With a last look, Horo Horo stormed out of the house. Pilica followed her brother. The rest of the day was spent planning for a short funeral for Yoh. The next day, everyone gathered again as Yoh was buried next to Amidamaru.
After everyone left, Kino called out to Anna.
"Anna, I need to talk to you," she said as she went into the living room and sat down. Obediently, Anna did the same. Kino observed her for a moment, then spoke.
"...Did Yoh give you.." she started. However, Anna got up and went to a drawer. From there, she took out the golden ring. "Ahh.. I see. So he did propose to you. Well then, did you accept?" Anna nodded in responce. Kino showed the slightest hint of a smile. "Anna. We are more than welcome to take you into the Asakura family. Do you wish to become Asakura Anna or do you want to stay as a Kyouyama?" Anna stared at her teacher.
"Kino-sensei. I killed your grandson," Anna stated bluntly.
"Yes... Yes you did... However, it matters not," Kino said. Then, she reached out and took Anna's left hand. She slipped the ring on Anna's ring finger. "Yoh loved you. You loved Yoh. Yoh proposed. You accepted. You and he were already engaged and we had decided the engagment. Yoh accepted you. You accepted Yoh. We also accept you. But will you accept us?"
Anna stared into Kino's eyes as Kino did to Anna. Then, Anna's smiled.
"Hai."
The next day, Anna called Horo Horo, Manta, Ren, and Lyserg to her house. They came, but they were in foul moods and clearly showed that they didn't like her much at all.
"First, I thank you for coming. Second, I am now Asakura Anna, not Kyouyama. Third, I want to fufill Yoh's dream; to set up a Shaman School. I was wondering if you would help me," Anna said, getting right to the point. It took a while for everything to sink in.
"W-wait.. WHAT? ASAKURA?!" Horo Horo asked. Anna nodded. Everything was silent until Lyserg spoke up.
"Why us though?" Anna turned her head to him.
"You guys are the best crew for this 'project'. Manta and you are smart and can take care of the data and financial things. Ren and Horo Horo can take care of the student life in school, for example, schedules, levels, and type. I'm also hoping for Pilica to be a trainer in the school and for Tamao to either cook or teach. And I would appriciate anyone else who are willing to help."
In the end, everyone did agree to help and they got to work. A year later, the school was set up and opened in honor of the Shaman King Asakura Yoh. Since then, the school had thrived as many shamans around the world came.
Anna smiled sadly and sighed.
"I love you, Yoh," she said. Then she got up and walked away but stopped when she heard his voice.
"I love you too, Anna."
Quickly, she turned around. She could see a faint figure standing in front of her.
It was that voice. That face. That smile. That person she had missed so much.
"...Yoh."
"Anna. I will always be with you," Yoh said as he started to disappear. When he did vanish, Anna smiled despite the fact that she was crying again.
"Yes... You'll always be with me."
