Author's Note: Well, school has started and I once more have time to write!
Another One
They pulled up in Grissom's Denali. The body was digusting and flies were everywhere.
"You know, I think I'm finally used to this."
"Used to what?"
"This."
"What do you mean, Greg?"
"You know, the bodies and stuff."
"Mmm..."
"I mean I think I'm de-sensitized to all of this," he motioned with his hand.
"You shouldn't be de-sensitized. You should keep every one of your emotions."
"So I shouldn't be like you."
Grissom was silent.
"Okay, that was low, I'm sorry, but I just don't get it. No emotions means being able to cope."
"Not for me."
"Yeah, well you're different."
"How?"
"I dunno, you just are!"
"When you lose your emotions, you stop to care about the victim and their story."
"What if you just get used to it?"
"Don't let it happen."
"So is it okay if I'm excited to go to crime scenes?"
"Yes, Greg, it's perfectly fine, even if a little strange."
"Okay, I guess we should get moving on the body then."
"You're right, Greg."
They worked in silence until Grissom's phone rang. Greg kept working.
"I have to go, Cath will work with you on this one."
As Grissom left, Greg continued working. When he finally pulled away, he looked up and watched.
"Another one bites the dust," he whispered to himself.
Author's Note: There's really nothing to get out of this, it was just me being me and writing whatever.
