This is something I wrote for English class in Grade 10, got 40/40 on it, and wanted to post it. There are 3 poems, each based on a different character in the Lord of the Flies novels. This one features Roger.

A Soul of Stone

Small raven child, innocence scorned,
Sadism shines in your eyes.
Black hearts won't be crossed,
And ere forever are you lost.
Demented shrieks echo your footsteps,
Falls of crimson tears and loss,
Show your deadly power crowned,
And ere forever are you found.
Terror comes from your bloody breath,
Horror in your stained black hands.
Demon-brother shall you be,
Of those who find joy in cruelty.
Corrupted power in your soul,
Lover of stone, cold to kill.
Delirium beats against your head,
With the falls of white and red.
When the glass ceases to break,
And the true human is found.
Pain of many do you offend,
And ere forever are you condemned.
