This is something I wrote for English class in Grade 10, got 40/40 on it, and wanted to post it. There are 3 poems, each based on a different character in the Lord of the Flies novels. This one features Piggy, and is a bit shorter than my other one.

Daedalus of the Icari

Father to the slayers,
And threat to those who lie.
Intelligence may be gained,
But knowledge lost without cry.
For those without a mercy,
To the blood flame he did die.
The wise one mourned by the glass,
A Daedalus who could not fly.
And joined by the truly respected,
In pieces they both shall lie.
