(PROLOGUE)

It all begins in the darkness of space, as a single tear falls from a young boy's face. His heart weeps in anguish, but yet, no other evidences can be found of how he is dying on the inside. It had been one year, since he had last saw her face, and every night he founds himself wondering about her fate. Yet, tonight is a night when he is alone, and the memories of that which he lost haunts him the most. So, young Jim Hawking sits awake looking out his window into space, and dreaming about seeing Hanmyo's face. Oh how he wants to be near her again, but he knew that fate would never be so kind, or at least that what he was thinking that night when he saw a small rose as the space ship flew by. Transparent as glass, dotted with the color of blood, tatter and torn, it spun in the darkness as awkward to the blackness as a plane in the sea. Yet, somehow, it seems the perfect place for the rose to be. Like a love lost, a rose was set a drift in eternal darkness, never to feel the sun on its petals or the breeze through its leaves. A fitting thing for Jim to see, for it reminds him even more of his own tragedy, but yet, as they past he fails to heed his own intelligences warning him about what he has seen. A single pink rose not cover in ice cannot exist in the darkness of space.

Thus the first petal falls, and the story begins while, on a desert planet a soft wind stirs the sand, and two long and eerily shadows stretches across the land. In a merciless place such as this, where even the sun seem to be an enemy, duels of life and death are fought. For in this lawless land, where only the strong live and all else dies, a harsh and cruel reality exist, in which, only those who refuse to face the truth of the world dare to tread. Beware of the sands, Outlaw Star.
