WhiteElfElder: All will be revealed, so to speak, soon enough;
Lesskarr Wolf: Yeah, the shortness is intentional as it helps me set up the idea;
"Trust me?"
"Always," said Harry, before he felt a wave of dizziness wash over him, forcing him back to a lying position, though not before Hermione steadied him, easing him down, teasing his raven-black hair softly between her fingers as she leaned down and whispered in his ear.
"Don't fight the feeling, Harry…let it all come out…I'll be here when you do…"
Chapter 1: Know Thyself
Unknown Place
'Where am I?'
Darkness surrounded Harry on all sides, making him feel confused, as well as a little claustrophobic, not to mention curious.
Given the fact that the last thing he could remember was seeing Dumbledore walk into the Hospital Wing, only to feel a very strong and strange sense of hatred and fear well up inside of him, Harry's curiosities and confusions were understandable.
If he was asleep again, he certainly couldn't remember it; and yet, the darkness surrounded him on all sides, making him more confused than he already was as he tried to figure out a way through, if not, out of the darkness and back to his already-strange-enough life as a boy-wizard-celebrity.
Then, Harry saw the Light…literally.
It started out as a faint, thin, almost-illegible pinprick of glowing white light, accompanied by a strange, compressive sensation that enveloped his body like a warm, slimy blanket; at the same time, Harry was aware of pained screams, as well as muffled voices encouraging someone on. All the while, the light from the distance grew bigger and bigger, while the compressed sensations seemed to urge Harry further and further towards the light before, with a final, almost-ethereal cry of exertion, Harry heard and felt himself slide into the light.
But all he could make out were shapes, shadows and distant voices.
"It's a boy…" said one, their voice muffled by some unknown or unseen presence.
"He…he's so beautiful…" argued another, again muffled by the same strange blocking feelings that kept Harry from making heads or tails of this.
"And he's ours…well done, my love…"
In the distance, Harry saw one shadow bend down to the other, before the second shadow seemed to go from weak and exhausted to alert and fearful as they asked, "What…what do we do now? The…the War…it's over, but…but if he should learn of this…of our baby boy…"
"Nothing will change," argued the first, though, as Harry tried to listen, he heard the first shadow say something that even his discombobulated state seemed to obscure even further, as though he was forcing himself to hear a name, or a word, which his mind had already decided he wasn't ready to learn, before the first voice continued.
"In the War, victory was all that mattered…but now…all I care for…all I think of, is our son…"
"We…we still need to…to be careful…mmmffmfmfmfmffm…."
This time, it was the second shadow's voice that became heavily-obscured and muffled, while Harry heard them speak again, "He…he's already amassing followers…and you know he…he believes…the War…the rights it gives him…"
"It doesn't matter," argued the first shadow, shaking their head firmly as they added, "Our son is the future…and it begins now…rest assured, my love…no matter what tricks he tries to pull…he shall never be able to defeat our child…and…on that note…"
Somewhere high overhead, Harry saw a glint of green, much like his own eyes, before the first shadow spoke again…
"What shall we name him?"
A muffled response was all Harry heard before darkness claimed him again…

"Harry?"
"Huh?" asked Harry, shaking his head as he looked around, a small part of him aware of someone speaking; Professor Dumbledore, he guessed.
However, it was Hermione who'd spoken his name, nudging him softly as she asked, "Are…are you still with us? Is everything all right?"
"Y…Yeah," said Harry, rubbing at his forehead as he groaned, "S-s-s-sorry, Headmaster, I…I must still be out of it because of the Dementors; um, what were you saying?"
In front of the bed that him and Hermione were sat on – where Hermione, Harry then noticed, was holding his hand supportively, if not determinedly as she, like him, listened to the Headmaster's words – Dumbledore frowned in curiosity as he explained, "As I was saying, Miss Granger is aware of the rules and the risks; you know what you must do. And, if I might offer one final, fleeting word of advice, I find that, when trying to figure things out, it is sometimes best to retrace your steps…good luck…"
Then, he was gone.
"What the bloody hell was all that about?" asked Ron suddenly, while Hermione helped Harry to his feet as the emerald-eyed scion frowned, trying to not only figure out the old man's words, but also try and put together the pieces of strangely-disorienting, yet creepily-familiar experiences, images and words he'd apparently managed to hear while Dumbledore was talking.
"Sorry, Ron, but since you're laid up, we don't have time to explain this to you," insisted Hermione, earning a faint smirk from Harry.
Ron, meanwhile, scowled, "What do you mean? Are you keeping secrets from me? Why does Harry get to know and not me? I thought…"
"Oh, will you just be silent?" asked Harry.
As he did so, he didn't notice his emerald-green eyes flashing an eerie, but empowering shade of fiery, Protego-Diabolica-like blue; seconds later, Ron's lips kept flapping about like flags in a typhoon, but no sound came out, not that he seemed to have noticed this.
Hermione had, however.
As Harry looked on in surprise, Hermione flicked her wand at Ron as she commanded, "Somnis."
The soft thud of Ron's head hitting the pillow – though not before he accidentally smacked it on the headboard of his hospital bed – meant that Harry and Hermione didn't have to deal with him any further…well, not yet anyway.
"Did…did I…did I just do…do that to…to Ron?" asked Harry, watching as Hermione led him towards the door to the Hospital Wing; to his curiosity, she put her ear to the door before, scowling softly, she turned to Harry as she took his hand in hers, holding it just as tightly as she had done when the two of them were on Harry's bed.
"Trust me…and remember…don't fight it," said Hermione, earning a frown from Harry before he saw Hermione's expression sadden as she continued in a softer voice. "Also…I hope you can forgive me for not telling you about this sooner, Harry; you…you have no idea how badly I wanted to share my secrets with you, but…but you wouldn't have understood."
"Understood what?" asked Harry.
As if in response, Hermione reached under her collar before, to Harry's curiosity, she retrieved what looked like a medium-sized pendant, which looked like a strange egg-timer, held in the clutches of a golden pendant comprised of multiple circles and what looked like dials, similar to those that you'd find on an analogue watch.
As Harry saw the object, however, his eyes widened before his free hand flew to his forehead as he found more strange, unexplainable images suddenly flashing across his consciousness…
Images Start
He saw a dark room…
A bubbling cauldron…
A shadowy figure in a blue-hooded cloak…
A gold pendant, similar to Hermione's…
A look of giddiness and…and…
A kiss…
A proud, warm kiss, right on his brow…
Images End
"Harry?"
"A Time Turner," said Harry calmly, a mixture of shock, realisation and even amusement on his face as he explained, "This explains so much about your weird actions this year, Hermione. You've been travelling through time!"
"Yes…" said Hermione, a small, proud, but also concerned smile on her own face.
Harry, meanwhile, shook his head as he looked to her, "How…how do I know that?"
"If you keep letting it all come in, I'm sure you'll figure it out without my help," said Hermione, clasping Harry's hand in hers before, with her other hand, she began turning the dials on the Time Turner. Before releasing it after three turns, however, she then draped the long, gold chain around Harry's neck, before she leaned in close, her forehead resting against his. "Trust me?"
"Always…again…" said Harry, before Hermione released the dial, causing the world to shift, distort and go out of focus around them.
As their world seemed to rewind super-fast, however, Harry's eyes widened as, at the same time the sands of time helped them move back through the hours to wherever it was that they were supposed to go, the emerald-eyed scion felt another wave of heat and obscure confusion crossing his mind, bringing with it an ominous tingling sensation deep inside his heart.
However, this time, while he was awake for it, he also remembered Hermione's words and, this time, at least, her attention was focused on him.
So, recalling her advice, Harry actually shut his eyes and, taking a deep breath, he let it in…
Chapter 1 and it looks like that strange 'dream' was a little more than it appears, but now Harry's mind seems to be riding the rails of apparent dreamy-recollections all over again, what other surprises await our hero?
Also, what could Hermione know about what's happening to her dear friend and, at the same time, why would one of these dream-visions keep some parts from Harry, such as a name and the identities of the shadows within those visions?
