Well, my main goals are to free Ace with the rest of the Royal Flush Gang. And since most of them are baseline humans in average clothing, it wouldn't do to pull them out under a rain of bullet fire or whatever contingency that is in place to keep them here.

No, I'm better off getting them out quietly.

Though I also need to do it in a way that stops Cadmus from just going after them and then me by extension. I could more than handle the Ultimen as thinking individuals or an army of mindless clones, Galatea, and even Doomsday but my main concern was the weapon that Amanda Waller would use to destroy the A.M.A.Z.O copy that Lex built years later. It took the original Amazo 10 or 11 months of traveling through space scanning who knows what to transcend his nanotech form. Meaning that anything that could harm nanotech I was more than vulnerable to.

And it'd be something that they could find out eventually, Ivo was known for his work in nanotech and I'd be an Android living at his home. They may be idiots at times but even they could connect the dots.

Though I could always just use a barrier construct to deflect the beam or run/fly out of range, they also had a magic user on their side, for now, which can rival mad science at being bullshit so best not to chance that.

So, I just need to do this in a way that doesn't implicate me but also leaves something that keeps Cadmus too busy to look for me or the Royal Flush Gang.

Well, the Justice League learning of their existence and very immoral actions would certainly keep them busy. Especially when Superman learns that his old friend Hamilton is involved. But I'll get them involved after I get the Royal Flush Gang out and some info on Cadmus.

I was content to leave the kids alone for now since they were still in a classroom, likely being fed propaganda or whatever child soldier indoctrination teaches kids these days.

Hmm… maybe I should give them a heads up. It'd help prevent a possible fight against an unknown android, i.e. me, which is good because fights don't leave the best first impressions.

I concentrated my focus on the strongest mind that I could pick up, which happened to be Ace's as she was a powerful psychic and blossoming reality warper.

I was still new to this so I just sent a little whisper of 'Hey!' towards Ace, who I could see was staring blankly at the droning agent. Her boredom was more than clear despite only lightly gazing into her mind.

It seems that my whisper worked as her eyes widened in surprise.

'You aren't hearing things, we're just speaking in your head. So don't speak out loud since I'm pretty sure that they don't want you using your powers right now.'

'No, they don't. But I never had felt anyone in my mind before, usually it's the other way around. Who are you?'

'Well, I happen to be a guy from outside of these walls. Also, a guy who'd like to get you and your friends out of here. Would you like that?'

'Really?' She asked hopefully, before flickers of the 'loyalty training' flashed through her head. The punishments for failing stood out more than the loyalty they sought to instill. 'This isn't some test is it?'

'I assure you, this is no test or anything of the sort.' I said reassuringly, hiding the anger I felt for her going through that. 'In fact, I'll prove it soon, I just need to take care of a few things first.'

'And what would that be?'

'Making sure that these bad men won't follow us when we get out of here. It'll be a surprise between you and me for the rest of your friends when I come to get you guys.'

'You're coming for us? I don't know who to expect you know.'

'Trust me when I tell you that it'll be clear when I arrive.' I said, allowing my eyes to show through my invisibility. The rest of me including the back of my head remained invisible so no one other than the surprised Ace and the confused Royal Flush Gang. I winked directly at her before hiding the rest of myself once more.

They all turned their eyes to look at Ace, but she remained fixated on the spot my eyes were.

'You really are here!'

'Indeed I am! I'll get back to you soon, just you wait.'

'Alright. Not much else I can do here.'

'You'll be doing a lot more once I bust you out.'

With my mental chat with Ace done, I looked for another mind, this time belonging to the overseer in charge. Who happened to be the most unique looking among these baseline humans with that glass eye and mustache of his. And was currently in a meeting with a bunch of scientists.

Soon enough I was at the office of the ones in charge of this facility as I just went through the walls until I got there.

With telepathy from one of the greatest telepaths in the world, it'd be more than doable for me to read the minds of every individual here. But I don't want their general thoughts, I want relevant details of Cadmus.

I could just read the overseer's mind and move on, but with Cadmus being the DC equivalent to S.H.I.E.L.D and the nature of espionage as a whole, it wouldn't do for me to miss a juicy piece of info a supposed grunt could have that those higher ranked than them didn't have.

Though I will admit to there being some nervousness about this. Sure Ace went well enough but that was a simple conversation with a bored kid, I'll be diving into a bunch of heads for information.

Well, I'm not in a rush so I'm more than free to take my time as I go along.

'Cadmus' I sent out a general thought that they'd all be thinking about. A flood of thoughts came about as I sent it. At first, it was just about their feelings for the group before it went on to what they were doing for Cadmus. Interestingly enough, there were only 2 spies from other countries but they were already compromised but kept around to feed misinformation. But other than those two, everyone's role here is as expected; guards, agents, scientists, and a head overseer.

So I placed less emphasis on the ordinary soldiers in favor of the more high-ranking member here, though I wasn't going to neglect them in case something juicy popped up.

Even still, many thoughts about the group's purpose came forth, along with their colleagues, notable scientists, and the few superiors that he was aware of. The self-centered thoughts were then nudged along to be on what they knew about the group.

I was less interested in the whole government agency aspect and more in the mad science or metahuman involved aspects as that was where I'd profit the most. Yet…

'Amanda Waller' She was unknown to all of the grunts but she terrified most of the higher ranked staff who knew of her. Of course, an incompetent Nick Fury would inspire fear through her sheer ineptitude at her job. And besides the fear and some information gained about her status as his superior, not much more was learned. She seemed to do a decent enough job as they all only knew about her as their rank and function allowed.

'Professor Hamilton' Information about him was known among the scientists though limited to the basics. He was Cadmus' staff geneticist, also the one who had designed the helmets and later bracelets that protected against Ace's powers. Still known to be working at S.T.A.R. Labs. Well, it seems that I know who'll be my next target once I get this sorted out.

'Galatea, Kryptonian' They all knew absolutely nothing about her. But that made sense, she was Cadmus' largest projects as a weapon against Superman should he go rogue and acted as their metahuman assassin. An overseer for the training and development of metahuman into weapons the overseer, John Lynch, may have been, he still had no reason to know about her. Though the overseer did receive some inquiries about testing a vague individual's strength against the boy who would become Ten since both had the strength to rival a Kryptonian.

I stopped reading the thoughts of the Cadmus operatives as I got all the information I needed. The disturbing thoughts in many a man's minds made my respect for Martian Manhunter rise because, damn, telepathy is depressing for my faith in humanity when it isn't just a walkie-talkie. But I hold myself back from acting on my newly inspired desire to go hot and beat them all down, the League can handle it so no need to sully my hands with blood.

Speaking of the League, I should give them a call before meeting the kids properly. Give these Cadmus mooks less time to suspect something's up and act before they come down on their asses.

How do I contact them though? I don't have a LPhone with me and I'm pretty sure those are pretty trackable by the government… oh wait. I'm an idiot.

I'm an idiot, I reinforce by slapping my right hand on my face. The hand with the Power Ring, one of the most complex and powerful devices in the universe. In my defense though, I'm still new to the idea of actually having such incredibly advanced tech at my disposal, so forgive me for defaulting to the mundane.

I flew out of the building and into the air as I raised my hand in the sky and tried to find the strongest signal in space, which my ring quickly identified as the Watchtower. I then had my ring connected with their monitor and called.

It took 5 seconds before they picked up, my ring made a sound which indicated that a connection had been made.

"Who is this?" Martian Manhunter asked, very much confused.

"Well, it seems that you didn't need to contact me first, I found your number." I replied, calling back to our last exchange.

"You?" He said rather baffled, though his voice soon went back to his usual tone. "We don't even have a phone number for public use, nor should you be able to contact us this way. How are you on this line?"

"Well, I grabbed my phone and called the biggest satellite that it could find, which happened to be that space station you're on." I answered, which was the truth technically since you could argue that the ring acted as a phone.

"That shouldn't have worked at all."

"Well, it worked for me." I pointed out.

"How it did is a mystery that should not be."

"What mystery?"asked a Batman from the background, "And who are you speaking to?"

"It's the Android from Ivo's residence." The Martian answered.

"How did he get this line!?" Batman asked his teammate.

"He called."

Not satisfied with that explanation, Batman turned to addressing me directly, "How did you get this line!?"

"Well, I found this facility performing highly unethical and probably illegal experiments on metahuman children. I'd call the police but this facility is pretty deep into the desert so I figured that you guys would be the next best thing. So I called." I reported.

"That still doesn't explain how you got this line! And how did you find this facility?!"

"Did he just say unethical and illegal experiments on children!?" A new voice, one belonging to Superman, demanded in outrage.

"Unfortunately, yes." I answered, the most serious I've been so far with them.

"Where!?"

I used my ring to triangulate my location before I recited back to them.

"Just sent the coordinates of the location. Anyway, I gotta go, some government mook is heading over here and I don't want to get caught trespassing and end up probed."

"Wait-" Batman tried to say before I ended the call.

With the leadership and essentially the entire armed forces here taken care of and the League on their way, I was done with my side quests.

I flew back into the facility and phased through the walls into the classroom that the Royal Flush Gang was in. But after noticing the cameras, I made a quick detour to the surveillance room and stole the passwords from the guard's mind before storing the footage into my ring just in case, it coming in handy as a truly universal media device. Then I turned everything off and sealed the door shut with heat vision so no one could get in since they lacked the equipment delicate enough to get through the door without damaging the room and the cameras inside.

That detour taken care of, I flew back before I settled in behind the two instructors, who didn't want to be here but were willing to do so to educate these 'meta brats' into proper assets of the government.

I took a moment to look at them, all dressed in normal civilian's clothing rather than a prison jumpsuit like most other stories would've had them in. Ace was gothic, Queen was preppy, King, Ten, and Jack were all in a standard shirt and jeans. It made them look rather out of place, which I agreed with because kids, be they adolescent or near adulthood, shouldn't be held in government facilities. Shouldn't be forced into serving as tools for a fight or cause that didn't concern them.

One young man who was abnormally tall and large, believed to be as strong and durable as Superman. One young woman who had control over metal. One young man who could become elastic. One young man who was always armed with his lasers. And one girl who could drive any to insanity with a look. I say one for all of them because they had no true names beyond number designations. MH-####, metahuman followed by a series of numbers.

I let out a breath that I couldn't have before I became visible to the world once more.

The bored and hardly attentive metahuman eyes suddenly became the opposite when they were on me for my sudden entrance. The instructors were startled at their reaction while the kids were surprised, Ace was too before she recognized that I was the guy she was talking with, that surprise now carrying a bit of hope within.

Before their instructors could have a chance to say anything or notice me, I grabbed them by the back of their heads and smacked them together with a bit of force. They fell to the ground knocked out. Judging by the sound being harsher than I expected, they'll get a concussion or two most likely but they'll live. And I'm sure that blood leaking from the one guy's nose won't be too bad anyway

All five of them were standing up as they looked at me. And while they were looking at me, I did the same as I scanned each of them. I started with Ace first, then went towards Queen, Ten, Jack, and King.

I took a knee and looked Ace straight in the eyes, an act that had genuinely surprised everyone in the room. Ace was alarmed, but soon became confused as I'd shown no hint of insanity despite lacking a blocker bracelet. "What did I tell you, Ace? This here is no test, not like the ones they've done before. They'll be no more of that. I'm getting you out of here."

Ok, this one I'll probably have to look over and edit some parts. Not entirely happy but I like it enough to post it.

I probably made the mind reading section too long, but when it comes to spies there'd be a lot more information and misinformation to sort through than the average person. I think I did that section decently but if it didn't work then feel free to let me know.

Amazo remembered that a Power Ring was effectively a space swiss army knife with apps and made some use out of it. Oh the abuse he'll give that thing will be fun. And I wouldn't say that Amazo did any sort of hacking, he just pinged the Watchtower monitor which Martian Manhunter happened to be at and answered out of curiosity. And I couldn't resist having Amazo's antics nettle Batman here, it's too fun. So the League will be on there way soon enough.

And finally Ace and the Royal Flush Gang, got cliffhangered! Sorry, and I'd go into it more there but I feel that this chapter is long enough already (discounting the AN). They're a bit shellshocked at the moment but they'l give some proper responces soon.

Anyway, I hope you guys like it and tell me what you thought.
