- Chapter 10: In quite the pickle -
=| 30 minutes earlier |=
After searching his designated area and coming up with nothing, the Doctor decide to head to the mall to see if there are any other clues inside. On his way, he passed by a library.
"Perhaps I should take a look at any recent events that had happened during the time I'm gone," He said and headed towards the library.
Inside the library, there were many people silently reading books, magazines and news clippings, as well as using the computers. The Doctor approached one of the shelves and took a magazine from November, with the cover showing the latest JP hero leaderboard. He walked to one of the desks to sit down and flipped to a random page which showed the current rankings of the Japanese Pro Heroes.
Quickly looking over the chart, he thought, 'Huh, Endeavor's the no.1? I thought it would still be All Might.' Knowing something must have happened to the previous no.1 hero, the Time Lord decided to read through the page and noticed the keywords "Kamino incident" and "retirement". He quickly picked up the magazine and went to a vacant computer, he secretly used his sonic screwdriver to log on to the computer. Once he logged in, he searched the internet for information on the Kamino incident, and in 5 seconds, he read everything on the webpage.
The Doctor now understood what had happened in the past 8 months, he muttered, "Oh, so All Might managed to defeat All For One again, but was weakened into retirement, and now villain activities had increased in his absence, interesting. Though it is a relief that he's still going strong."
Now caught up on everything that had occurred, he decided to quickly look up the info on all the other Pro Heroes, their quirks, appearances and names, before leaving the library and continuing on his way to the mall.
As he neared the mall entrance, he looked around and found many people going in and out, as well as circulating the premise. Putting on his sonic sunglasses, he did a scan of the people, making sure that they are not suspicious.
"Still nothing." He sighed as the scan result remained inconclusive, as he only found everyone was still genetically human with some alterations.
So he took off the sunglasses and put them into his coat pocket, and said, "Well then, looks like the only thing left to do is to go in."
Entering the mall, the Doctor came up to the map and layout of the mall, showing where the facilities and shops were located, but one thing about the place caught his eye.
"This mall is built in the shape of a tetradecagon, so fourteen sides," the Time Lord said, rubbing a finger on his chin, "But fourteen? Why does that ring a bell?"
He continued along the main corridor, still muttering his thoughts out loud, "Fourteen sides, twenty-eight students, all multipliers of seven, the crisis, end of all heroes, oh what else, what else..."
He was so concentrated on his thoughts that he didn't notice a waist-height fence in front of him, causing him to bump into it, which snapped him out of his thought. He exclaimed, "Alright now, what's this?"
He looked beyond the fence, seeing the circular promenade with a fountain in the middle. Remembering the map, he said, "This must be the mall's central causeway, but why is it fenced off?"
Someone approached him and said, "Excuse me, sir, but you will need to find another way to go if you want to get to the other side."
The Doctor looked up at who talked to him. It was a tall police officer wearing a riot helmet and bulletproof vest, along with an assault rifle. The Doctor looked around, seeing more officers walking around the promenade, as well as three individuals that were wearing costumes. He thought, 'They must Pro Heroes.' He looked at the ground around the fountain, finally noticing a few small craters.
He turned back to the officer and asked, "What happened here?" The officer answered, "A villain attacked this area and escaped, so we are zoning off the area to conduct an investigation."
"Then can you let me in?" The Doctor asked, surprising the officer, who said, "Not unless you have the credentials."
The Time Lord fished into his coat pocket and took out his psychic paper, showing it to the officer. After looking at it, the officer said, "Oh, sorry sir, didn't know you were the detective."
The Doctor looked at the psychic paper, which showed a police force detective's ID card, he said, "Yes, I received an order from the station to help with the investigation here." And he put the paper back into his pocket.
After the officer opened the fence, the Doctor was escorted to where the Lurkers were, and using the info he got earlier, he quickly identified them as Edgeshot, Kamui Woods and Mt. Lady.
Once they reached the heroes, the officer said, "Sir, Madam, the detective has arrived."
"You are..." asked, and the Doctor took his psychic paper out, "Detective John Disco, codenamed 'The Doctor'."
Edgeshot said, "Now that you're here, then let's get to work."
As they resumed the investigation, the Doctor inquired, "So what exactly happened?"
Kamui Woods answered, "A group of students encountered a villain who had kidnapped one of their friends earlier, fortunately, their friend managed to escape and they were able to defeat the villain, but unfortunately, the villain escaped."
"So what can you tell me about this villain?" The Time Lord asked.
"Only that the villain is a woman, can control shadows, fly, and change appearances," Edgeshot replied, "but other than that, nothing much. Quirk, motives, and allies, all unknown." This intrigued the Doctor, who looked more interested in this incident.
As they arrived at one of the small craters that littered the ground, the ninja hero said, "These craters are created as the students fought the villain." The Time Lord kneeled and scanned the crater with his eyes but was unable to see anything weird, confused he scratch his head and think, 'There should be more.'
So he put on his sonic sunglasses and began scanning the crater.
Mt. Lady asked, "Also Doctor, out of the police force, how come I have never seen you before?"
As he was still scanning the crater, the Doctor immediately fabricated a story, "I am rather new here. I used to be a police inspector at Scotland Yard in Britain, but later retired and travelled here. But after seeing the Kamino incident play out on the news and All Might's retirement, I decided to use my expertise again and help out."
"So you decided to join the police and become a detective?" Kamui Woods asked.
The Time Lord answered, "Yep." It was then that the scan was complete, and the Doctor read the results, showing a bit of dark energy emanating from the ground.
Suddenly remembering what the heroes said a few moments ago, the Doctor asked, "You said there was a group of students, what school are they from? And what does that friend of theirs look like?"
Mt. Lady said, "They are class 1-A of U.A high school, and their friend, he's short, has blue hair, and kinda looks like a girl. I think they say his name was Shiota Nagisa. Why do you ask?"
Hearing the name of the missing student, the Doctor froze for a moment with his eyes widened. He thought, 'Oh, so he's in safe hands.'
Kamui Woods asked, "Is something wrong?"
The Doctor snapped out of his trance and changed the subject, "No, nothing." He coughed a bit and stood up, "So other than these craters, what else did you find?"
"Not much," Mt. Lady said, "except for some beads from a bracelet."
"Mind if I take a look at them?"
Edgeshot told an officer to fetch the beads Nagisa recovered. The officer came back with a bag that held the bracelet beads and handed it to the Doctor.
The Time Lord opened the bag and poured its contents into his palm, and put on his jeweller's eyeglass to look at the fine details. After looking at a few beads, he exclaimed, "Incredible."
Kamui Woods asked, "What's so incredible about these beads?"
"Well, first of all, I'm not talking about you," the Doctor said jokingly, then gestured them to look closer and continued, "but look, these cuttings are very fine, the markings, runes of different languages. And the material," He held one in his fingers and felt the texture, "it doesn't seem to be anything that can be found on this planet."
It was then that an officer called out to the heroes and summoned them to the fence. Edgeshot said, "Please excuse us."
And the Lurkers left the Doctor to continue. The white-haired Scotsman muttered, "Alright, let's see what you really are." He took off his eyeglass and looked around to make sure no one was looking, but instead, he noticed someone else at the fence where the heroes were heading, a tall man with short black hair and black eyes, who was wearing a tan overcoat with a green tie, a white uniform and black suit trousers underneath and black dress shoes. "Uh oh." And he decided to scrap that idea and put the beads back into the bag before handing it to a nearby officer.
At the fence, the officer informed the heroes, "Sir, madam, detective Tsukauchi has arrived." The detective added, "Sorry I'm late, the traffic was horrible outside."
Confused, Edgeshot asked, "I don't understand, didn't the police department already send one detective?"
"Yes, the chief told me to come here with the investigation," Tsukauchi replied, "Why do you look so confused?"
"Well," Mt. Lady started and moved to the side, revealing the Doctor in the distance, who was handing the bag of beads back to the officer that was standing closest to him, "let's just say that there seems to be another detective here already."
"But the chief only sent me here," Tsukauchi said confusedly, "And who is he?"
Kamui Woods answered, "He said his name is John Disco and his codename was 'the Doctor'."
The detective said, "But I have never seen him before, nor am I aware of anyone with that codename."
"He said he's new here, perhaps you just don't know him that much, detective Tsukauchi?" Mt. Lady suggested. But the black-haired man quickly replied, "No, whenever a new officer joins the department, the whole department would have known about them when they are officially commissioned through email announcements. But there never was one about him."
The four people then looked toward the white-haired man, who was just walking around the crime scene and investigating the craters while wearing a pair of sunglasses. "Then perhaps he's lying about his identity." the wood hero hypothesized.
Edgeshot said, "Perhaps, but we shouldn't make him alert that we know, let's think of a way to get him to spill."
The three heroes and the detective discussed quietly what they should do next. However, the Doctor heard everything the four of them said, he thought, 'Oh no, they had started to suspect me, I need to get out of here.' So after scanning the last crater, he took off his sonic sunglasses and put them in his coat pocket as he walked towards the closest fence, preparing to leave.
As the Doctor was opening the fence, Mt. Lady noticed him leaving and exclaimed, "He's trying to leave!"
"Well, that's my cue to run!" The Doctor immediately fled from the scene, with the Edgeshot and Kamui Woods on the chase while detective Tsukauchi ordered a few of the on-scene officers to go around with Mt. Lady and cut off the Doctor's escape.
As the Doctor was running down the mall corridor with his frock coat flailing behind him like a cape, Kamui Woods shouted, "Stop right there!" But the Doctor was too busy running and didn't care, causing the heroes to prepare their quirks.
Edgeshot was the first to engage, as his quirk, Foldabody, had higher precision than the others, plus his ninjutsu training, he was also the fastest out of his team, capable of very long jumps. As he jumped off a lamppost, the ninja hero activated his quirk. "Ninpo:" He flattened and twisted his body into a pointed string, then proceeded to pierce the old-looking man, "Thousand Sheet Pierce."
As Edgeshot reformed his head from his string form, it appeared that it had worked as the Doctor's motion seemed to have halted, "Now, you stay still."
"That won't work on me," the Doctor said, surprising the grey-haired hero. The Time Lord then whipped out his sonic screwdriver and aimed it at a nearby lamppost, and said, "Sorry." Then activated it to make the lamppost spark before falling, with a few civilians under it. That caused the three heroes to withdraw and save them. Luckily, there were no casualties involved.
The Doctor stumbled for a bit as his bloodstream restarted, but it didn't stop him, as he took the opportunity to keep running and was able to gain some more distance. However, after making sure the civilians were safe, Kamui Woods used his quirk "Preemptive Binding:" and shot out wooden vines at the Doctor from his arm, "Lacquered Chain Prison."
As the wooden vines rushed towards the running Scotsman to chain him up, the Doctor activated his concentration, slowing down his time, and giving him ample time to analyse his environment.
Looking behind him, other than the approaching wooden vines, the Doctor also noticed a manhole cover he had just run over and noticed the words "Gas Line" engraved on it.
Making sure there were no civilians in the way, the Scotsman aimed his sonic screwdriver at the manhole cover as his time began speeding up again. He exclaimed, "Sorry, but not this time!" and activated his device, igniting the methane gas inside, blowing off the cover while causing fire to blast out and burn the wooden vines, forcing the tree man to withdraw.
"Sorry, I can't get him," Kamui Woods apologized, as he held his slightly charred arm in his other hand.
"Don't blame yourself, none of us would have known that he's armed," Edgeshot replied.
At that moment, their target had run too far and disappeared around a corner. "He's turning to Mt. Lady's direction, we should be able to trap him at the next junction," the ninja hero said. And the two Pro Heroes continue the pursuit.
Several seconds have passed, the still-running Doctor put his screwdriver back into his pocket and looked back, seeing his pursuers were a distance away. He said to himself, "At this rate, I should be heading towards the main entrance in no time; ho, really haven't ran like this for a while."
However, as he entered the next junction, the old-looking man felt a change in the air current around him and looked up at his west side, and what he saw would definitely cause all men to either panic or nosebleed, a 70-foot tall lady jumping down at him in the form of a kick, "Canyon Cannon".
The Doctor exclaimed, "My God!" and dove away from Mt. Lady's attack. But when the giant hero stomped onto the ground and shook the earth below, she also kicked up a large cloud of dust, causing the Doctor to cough along with reducing his visibility, forcing him to rely on his other senses to find his way.
However, unable to see clearly, the Doctor walked into a wall and had to feel his way out.
And when the dust settled, the Doctor turned around and found himself pinned against the wall, surrounded by police officers with guns aiming at him. The Scotsman raised both hands in surrender. Detective Tsukauchi and the three heroes walked past the officers, and the former announced, "Sir, you're under arrest for identity forgery and villainy."
As one of the officers took out a pair of handcuffs, the Doctor said, "Well, now, yes, uh, I have to say, impressive on trapping me here, but you are making a very big mistake."
Mt. Lady, who had shrunk back down, inquired with her arms crossing her chest, "And what would that be?"
"If you were going to back someone up against a wall, a little word of advice-" the wall behind the Doctor dinged and slid away, revealing a lift, "don't stand him against the lift."
Smiling, the Doctor stepped into the box and pointed his screwdriver against the control console, it whirled loudly and closed the doors before anyone could react.
"Gotta admit, that is good advice," Kamui Woods complimented. Then the lift stopped at floor 1, and Edgeshot said, "And what are we waiting for."
And the ninja hero jumped onto the 1st floor with the tree man following as he used his quirk to pull him up, while Mt. Lady and the officers rushed to block off the escape routes.
Their target kept running down the corridor with the two Pro heroes back in pursuit, Kamui Woods, starting to get tired, said, "How come an old man can run this fast and for this long?"
The Doctor then saw an empty staircase and quickly rushed down to the ground floor before anyone could block it.
Back on the ground floor, he looked left and saw the group of officers and Pro Heroes were still chasing him, so he took off in the opposite direction again, continuing in the direction of the main entrance.
"Do these people ever give up!?" The Doctor asked himself, then slapped his forehead and replied to himself, "Why am I asking that, of course they won't, that's what these people do."
Suddenly, in front of the Scotsman, came a bright beam of glimmering light, and he quickly limboed to dodge it. Recomposing himself, the Doctor saw a slim teenage boy with long, blond hair and a rather feminine face standing in a pose in the distance. He was wearing a white shirt with long, baggy sleeves and a pair of baggy indigo pants. The boy also fashioned a metallic belt with a golden ring-shaped buckle with a blue crystal around his waist, and the crystal was still sparkling from his previous laser attack.
Then, the ground started to freeze over, turning a part of the mall into an ice rink. The Scotsman staggered a bit as his feet slid across the slippery surface. And all of a sudden, two figures jumped from the third floor of two opposing buildings and floated right above the Doctor. He looked up and saw a green-haired boy and a brown-haired girl, with the latter then put both of her hands together and said, "Release!"
And then the two teenagers dropped and pinned the running doctor down, with the brunette holding his right arm on his back while the greenet held the legs. The Doctor yelled out in pain, "Owww, no, stop that."
The brunette said seriously, "You're not going anywhere, mister!"
It was then that the police officers and Pro Heroes caught up, with the rest of class 1A walking to the pinned man. The police officers cuffed the Doctor as Midoriya and Uraraka got off him. Kamui Woods said exhaustedly, "Thanks (huff) for the help (huff) again, class 1A."
"It's alright, Kamui Woods, take a rest" Midoriya replied. Seeing the still struggling Scotsman, Todoroki inquired, "But what's the deal with that old man?"
Edgeshot answered, "This man used false identification and entered the investigation area, and as he attempted to escape, caused havoc by bringing down a lamppost and blowing up an underground gas pipe, burnt Kamui Woods' arm a bit."
Hearing that, Asui asked the tree man, "Oh my, is your arm alright, kero?"
"Yeah, it's just a slight burn, shouldn't be too much of a hassle," the wood hero replied, rubbing a burn mark on his wooden-textured arm.
Now cuffed and being escorted away, the Doctor continued to struggle, "Oh please, this is a misunderstanding, I was just trying to help!"
"Yeah right, like intruding in an investigation scene and causing havoc would help anyone," Mt. Lady said.
At this moment, Nagisa and his team arrived at the scene. The blunet exclaimed, "Guys!"
Midoriya turned and see the six younger teens running toward him and the others, he asked, "What are you doing here? You should have stayed at the entrance."
Karma said, "We decided to follow and potentially help, so what happened?"
Iida answered, "Some old man intruded on a police investigation and caused some destruction while escaping."
"Ok, but what was that rumbling earlier?" Kayano inquired.
"I think that would be Mt. Lady over there," Kaminari said, pointing at the gigantification-quirk user, "her quirk allows her to go giant size and sometimes, her attacks could cause light earthquakes."
Surprised by that assessment, Okuda said, "That sounds a bit overkill."
As the crowd of police dispersed, Mt. Lady and an officer escorted their suspect out, and Kanzaki noticed who the suspect was, "Wait, everyone, isn't that...?"
The rest of class 3-E group 4 saw the cuffed Scotsman and looked at each other in shock, and called out, "DOCTOR!"
The Doctor stopped and looked to his left, seeing the five familiar teens, and said, "Kids!"
The other students and the three Pros looked at them surprised, Kirishima asked, "Wait, you know this man?"
Sugino replied, "Yeah, he's the man we're waiting for."
Mt. Lady stopped escorting, allowing the teens to get closer to the Scotsman. Kayano asked the man, "What did you do to get yourself arrested?"
"Oh, it's just a bunch of running away and shenanigans, but nothing major," the Doctor replied with a grin, with his hands cuffed behind his back.
Kamui Woods shouted, "Hey, you caused a lamp post to fall over and ignited a gas pipe, endangering several civilians, how is that-"
"Oh shut up, there are more important things you should be worrying about," the Doctor scoffed and interrupt, he then looked back at the students and noticed the blue-haired boy, "It seems you have found your classmate, that's great."
Sugino grimaced and said, "Well, not so great now that you're under arrest."
"Nah, it's fine, really," the Scotsman said with a very big grin.
Nagisa looked at the cuffed man and thought, 'Why does he look so familiar?' He searched through his mind and remembers the reason, he said, "Wait, I've seen you before."
The Doctor, surprised, asked the blunet, "You do?" The 14-year-old nodded, "Yes, you were in a lecture at our school 2 years ago, the one about time and humanity."
The Time Lord then remembered what the boy was saying, and spoke, "Always try to be nice..." The blunet finished the sentence, "but never fail to be kind." which caused the Doctor to smile and said "Good to hear that someone took it to heart."
Hearing that, Midoriya remembered Nagisa and Todoroki's conversation the other day and said, "So you're a university professor?"
The Scotsman looked at the greenet and responded, "You could still say that, Izuku."
Everyone else was surprised that the stranger knew the 15-year-old's name, who asked, "H-how do you know my name?'
The Doctor answered, "Well, it's a tiny bit complicated. People usually need a flowchart." And made a very big grin.
Bakugou then interrupted the conversation, "Hey! Shut up and just go, we don't have all day!"
Edgeshot then said, "Right, you can keep talking at the police station."
Thus, the police continued to escort the Doctor towards the police car at the entrance, but the students said, "But Doctor, what about us?"
The Doctor responded, "Don't worry, just go with the others, and class 1A, when you go back to U.A , find your teachers and tell them I've returned and what happened," he stepped into the police car, but poked his head out and continued, "if they ask who I am, tell them I came back the long way 'round!"
The officers shoved his head back into the car as they closed the car door, and drove to the police station.
Tsukauchi then said, "Well, now that's taken care of, let's get back to work, and heroes, thanks for all the help, we'll carry on from here."
Edgeshot replied, "Alright, then let's get back to patrolling the area." The three Pros then spread out to different points of the district.
The students were left confused, Todoroki said, "So...what was that all about?"
Jiro then exclaimed, "Just who the heck is he?" Uraraka continued, "And why does he know Deku-kun's name?"
Nagisa answered, "I think his name is John Disco if I remember correctly."
Kayano interrupted, "It's not." The blunet turned to the short girl next to him and ask, "What do you mean?"
Okuda continued, "That's what he said his name was when we first met him, but we later found out that that name was made up."
Iida then inquired, "So, what is his name?"
Karma replied to the class president, "He didn't really say it, but he only referred to himself as 'The Doctor', and that's what we call him."
Kaminari said confusedly, "The Doctor? Doctor Who?"
The redhead just shrugged casually, "No idea."
"Wait, the Doctor," Midoriya found that name strangely familiar, "did you just call him 'the Doctor'?"
Karma asked, "Would you like me to repeat what I just said?"
The greenet ignored that question and looked in the direction the police car went, and muttered, "It can't be him, can it?"
Uraraka asked, "Deku-kun, is something wrong?"
The one-for-all successor replied, "I'm not sure, but if that man is who you guys say he is, then we might just have a even greater chance of finding out who we are dealing with."
Todoroki then asked, "So would mind telling us?"
"It's a bit complicated, I think it would be better if I say it when we have everyone else."
Iida said, "If that's the case, then let's head back to U.A immediately."
Yaoyorozu looked at the six Kunugigaoka students, "You can all come with us."
"Alright then," Nagisa replied the Class 1-A vice-president, and Kayano took out her phone, "Ritsu, tell everyone else to meet us back at the train station, and that we are having some problems."
Ritsu replied, "On it."
=| 10 minutes later |=
At Tokyo Station, it was the busiest at this hour, with the most people circulating between trains to reach the other major cities across the country. Class E Group 1 was the first to arrive, seeing that fact, Isogai said, "Guess we're first."
"Well, we are the closest ones to the station and we can move faster than everyone else," Kimura said, to which, Kataoka replied, "Even so, the others shouldn't be too far away."
Irina sighed and put her hands behind her head, "Although it is a relief that Nagisa has been found, but it does feel like a bummer to not buy anything here."
Yada comforted their teacher and said, "Bitch-sensei, we are not here for vacation, but maybe we can do some shopping after finishing our tasks at hand."
The English teacher smiled a bit, "Yeah, I guess you're right."
Just then, a teenage girl with long snow-white hair passed by, grabbing the attention of their class flirt, "Ooh, a cute girl-" Before he could finish, the gymnast girl next to him gave him a hard elbow to his side.
"Don't start! Can't you resist flirting with other girls from another world!?" Okano warned the blond, who replied, "Alright, sorry," as he rubbed his side.
It was then that, a brawnish voice called, "Hey guys!"
The seven students and the English teacher turned to where the voice came from, and they saw eight familiar faces walking toward them, Karasuma-sensei and group 3.
"Where are the others?" Muramatsu asked.
Kurahashi, who was looking at the flowers and ants in a plant bed the whole time, answered, "Not here yet, but how did you all feel about this place?"
Yoshida replied, "Well, it's like home mostly, though it feels tenser."
"Yeah, but I did find something pretty funny," Terasaka said as he took out his phone and showed everyone a video, "I recorded this while searching my area."
It was a video of a washing machine with limbs and two eyes popping out of the lid making bubbles for some children. In the video, the children were having a lot of fun floating in the bubbles.
Yada, Hara and Irina watched the video, and said with puppy eyes, "Aww, this is so cute."
Itona put a finger on his chin, and said, "It's quite the comfort that Nagisa is safe, but I wonder what the problems they said meant?"
"They would probably say what it is when they arrive, though I gotta say it would have been better if they have explained it on the phone," Karasuma said.
"And risk giving away their status?" A familiar voice spoke from right behind the P.E teacher.
In an instant, Karasuma took out a green blade and slashed at the yellow octopus behind him, but his target evaded the attack in the blink of an eye and landed a few feet back.
"Nufufufu, you gonna need to do better than that, Karasuma-sensei," Korosensei said, with his signature laugh.
And right behind him, are the students in group 2, who were panting from exhaustion.
"Why do you guys look so exhausted?" Isogai asked, and Chiba answered as he wiped the sweat on his forehead, "We had a very hard time keeping Korosensei in check."
Sugaya said, "He went into several shops and almost blew through his paycheck."
Hayami continued, "And when trying to search by flying, he almost got caught by patroling Heroes and get us all in trouble."
"What!? I just wanted to experience hero society in all the ways there is," Korosensei debated, "Don't you all also want to do that?"
"Of course we do, but you also caused us to go around the whole Chuo district as a whole group, and we weren't even able to do anything else," Nakamura sighed, frustratedly.
Kataoka then said in a comforting manner, "Well, at least you're lucky that we didn't have to search around for very long."
"So what did you find about this world we're in?" Karasuma inquired.
Korosensei replied, "Well, mostly as the Doctor said, largely the same as back home, but it also seems that the usage of the people's 'quirks' is heavily regulated, as when I was flying."
Kimura said, "Well, I mean that's what laws are for, right? Too much freedom to do anything you want could cause chaos in society."
Everyone else nodded in agreement, and the homeroom teacher remarked, "Correct Kimura, as expected from you and your police background."
He continued, "But I also noticed that there has been unrest about said regulations, some people would fight against the government to break it" he took out a book that had a red cover with black patterns and the words 'Meta Liberation War' on it, "like in this book that I found in a bookstore earlier, and it is quite a bestseller lately."
Suddenly, a voice called out, "Everyone!"
The 24 students and teachers turned to look towards the origin of the call, it was five of their pupils alongside a familiar short boy with blue hair that was tied into signature symmetrical cat ear pigtails.
"Nagisa!" The other students called as they rushed to hug their classmate who they had missed for four days. The rest of group 4 just stood next to Nagisa with smiles at this joyous sight.
Terasaka said as he wrapped an arm onto the blunet's shoulder, "Where have you been, you made us all so worried!"
"You do know that he had been in this world right, Terasaka?" Karma said smugly, like how he usually does to the class brute.
"Oh shut up, Karma!" This little feud between them caused all of class 3-E to laugh.
"But anyways, it is a great relief that you are back Nagisa," Korosensei said as he walked through the crowd of students.
Nagisa turned to look at his teacher, and replied, "It feels great to see everyone as well, Korosensei."
The yellow octopus then looked at another group of teenagers who were standing next to them, he asked, "And Nagisa, they are...?"
The other teachers and students all turned to the 15-year-olds who were in casual wear, and the blunet then introduced, "Oh, they are friends that I made while staying here, U.A high school class 1-A."
After Nagisa's introduction, the 2 classes went forward to interact with each other, and all the students introduced themselves to each other.
"I never thought that meeting a class of training-to-be heroes would be something I do in my life," Mimura and Fuwa said ecstatically.
"Well, it also never occurred to us that we would meet assassins," Sero said as he was chatting with the manga and movie enthusiasts.
The class reps of both classes were also chatting, Kataoka and Isogai bowed slightly and thanked their class 1-A counterparts, "Thank you for taking care of Nagisa for us during the time he was missing."
"It's our pleasure, Kataoka-san," Yaoyorozu replied.
"Nuhuhuhu, this has been a big turn of events, perhaps we can all learn from each other," Korosensei said.
"Huh, so you're their teacher, I thought you would be scarier," Bakugou snarled.
"Bakugou-san, don't agitate Korosensei, you have no idea how scary he can be," Nagisa warned the ash-blonde, not wanting the latter to get harmed.
"Like I care, for someone who can destroy the world, he sure looks underwhelming."
The yellow octopus laughed, "Nuhuhuhuhu, for a hero in training, you sure do like to pick fights, do you?"
Kirishima said in Bakugou's stead, "That's just who he is."
Karasuma then interrupted their conversations, "Alright, now should we get back to our task at hand?"
Everyone turned their attention to the P.E teacher, who continued, "So, Karma, can you explain the problem your group was facing?"
Irina also added, "Also, where is the Doctor? Shouldn't he be with you guys?"
"Right, about that," the redhead scratched the back of his head, "he, uhhhh, got arrested."
"WHAT!?" Everyone exclaimed. Korosensei inquired with a dramatically shocked expression, "How did that happen?"
Kayano said, "It turned out that while he was investigating the shopping mall in Kiyashi district, he trespassed into a crime scene, and caused quite a bit of trouble for the police and heroes there."
"Crime scene, what kind of crime scene?" Fuwa asked.
Asui replied, "That would be the place where we fought off a villain who might be connected to the ones that brought Nagisa here, kero."
"Hmm, that sounds quite interesting, would you mind explaining what happened back then," Irina asked.
Nagisa replied to his teacher, "We would like to, but I think it would be better if we talk about it after we get to U.A."
"And why is that?" the former soldier asked. Kayano answered, "The Doctor told us to head to U.A and tell the teachers there what happened, in a way that says he knows them or something."
Korosensei added, "Well, considering that he holds knowledge about this world, I wouldn't be surprised if he knows a few people here."
Todoroki said monotonously, "And on that note, the Doctor also appears to know Midoriya quite closely."
Uraraka then asked the greenet, "Yeah, Deku-kun, why do you look like you also know him?"
Everyone turned their gazes at All Might's successor, and he scratched the back of his head, and explained calmly, "Well, it may sound weird, but back when I was a child, I met someone who also was also called 'the Doctor', and he helped me a lot during some of my darkest times. The last time I saw him was about one and a half years ago," and he looked at his childhood friend, "Kacchan, remember the sludge villain?"
The ash-blond took a few moments to remember the event that took place when they were 14, when the mentioned villain attempted to take over his body, but was saved when the greenet rushed in while disregarding his own safety, and that villain was defeated by All Might. However, there was also a mysterious individual back then, who wielded a strange device and distracted the villain long enough for Midoriya to retrieve the explosive boy.
Upon understanding what Midoriya was implying, Bakugou exclaimed, "Wha-, but Deku that can't be him, how would he even look that much older in a year and a half!"
"I know it sounds impossible, but that feeling and energy he gave off, it felt the same to me."
Isogai hold his chin, and said, "Well, there are things we still don't know about the Doctor, then perhaps if we follow his instructions and head to your school, then maybe we could get a better grasp of the situation."
Iida said, "I agree with Isogai-kun, that would be the most effective way there is."
Korosensei then concluded, "Since both classes are in consensus, then let's head to U.A."
So everyone present entered Tokyo station, and took the quickest train back to U.A.
A/N:
Hello, I'm back, sorry for the long hiatus, I was quite preoccupied in the past 6 months, as I didn't have the inspiration and motivation to write, and other stuff that piqued my interest, such as Classroom of the Elite, Spy x Family, and Helluva Boss, but also due to global events, such as the passing of the Queen, as well as fatigue from university studies, which is much more exhausting than I have anticipated, so it is unlikely that I could find much time to write considering my schedule. But I would try my best to take some time out to write.
Also with the new Season 6 of MHA, it is time we enter the Paranormal Liberation War Arc, and although I already know the whole thing from the manga, I won't spoil anything for the anime-only fans, but just a heads-up, the ending will be quite sad, which I still feel to this day, like a part of my heart is gone. Also with the release of "The Power of the Doctor", we now know who is the next Doctor, and it is quite the shocker, it was David Tennant, huh?! Looks like we will be having quite the train ride for the 60th anniversary.
So the overview, the Doctor is now in quite the pickle, and it's up to both classes to get him back, and it is now revealed that the Doctor has a connection with Midoriya, what would that mean? (A prequel perhaps?) We will find out soon enough.
So stay tuned!
