Half and Half getting new parents
. . .
The sports festival was in full swing and Kagome couldn't help but be wrought with worry for Shoto Todoroki. She could tell something was off during his current fight with Midoriya.
Many would assume that Kagome wouldn't have favourite students. But because she was around Aizawa so much she couldn't help but become attached to 1-A. It didn't help that Kagome was known for clinging onto kids and adopting them reluctantly. She couldn't help herself when she saw a child in need, Aizawa was there to stop her surprise adoptions though.
Kagome adored Shoto Todorki and she believed he had such great potential but his hatred of his father held him back so much. It was while she was deep in thought with Aizawa leaning on her shoulder having a midday snooze that she realised…
Shoto Todoroki has probably never had a proper parental figure in his life.
She was aware of his parental history due to him being a regular in office for hypothermia. They had many conversations, and she was aware of the quirk marriage that was the foundation for his household.
She couldn't imagine who was checking in on his welfare if his mother who was consumed by her mental health and absent in his life to his father who was verbally, emotionally abusive and neglectful of everything about his son unless it concerned his future career in heroics.
Kagome's heart just ached for the boy. To never have the love and support of his parents must have traumatised and scarred him. She was determined to speak with him, and look into therapy for him. As that kind go emotional trauma was sure to stunt his growth and hinder him in adulthood.
However her thoughts were interrupted when the fight below started taking a deadly turn, she grasped Aizawa holding his forearm in a strong grip that startled him awake.
When he noticed the impending clash, he gripped her waist, securing the both of them down.
Cementoss interrupted the student's attacks with his walls and the explosion that came from it, ripped the air. Kagome on instinct raised a barrier, incasing the stadium below and the fighters. The debris would have destroyed the stadium or at least heavily damaged it.
Aizawa held her waist firmly, the force of explosion swiping a few people off their feet. But he held himself and Kagome down. Eventually she let her barrier down, allowing the smoke to clear, showing the victor to be Shoto Todoroki.
"I'm going down there to see them, stay here with your class." With a quick kiss to his cheek, Aizawa reluctantly let her go as she flew down the stairs to get to the arena's entrances.
Arriving in the waiting rooms, Kagome saw Recovery Girl had taken charged of Midoriya and was already heading down to her surgery clinic. She looked for Todoroki and spotted him at the lip of the entrance on the other side of the arena with a giant flaming man.
It didn't take her long to realise who he was, Endeavor.
It took some time for her to get to the other side, but when she did Todoroki was walking away from his father in a huff.
She rushed to his side, immediately fussing over Shoto's body, checking for injuries.
"Are you okay? Did any of debris hit you? Tell me if anything hurts!" She pressed, her face contorted in concern for his well-being. A little shocked by the attention, Todoroki froze as she looked over him.
"It looks like you got a few bruises and cuts but nothing too serious. But i need to make sure your body temperature is normal and you aren't suffering any hypothermic events." Kagome assessed, she then noticed blood by his ankle, seeing a rather nasty cut. "Come with me and I'll heal you up okay."
She gently grasped his shoulders, leading the 15 year old to her nurse station. But before they could get anywhere, they were interrupted.
"I don't want my son healed by you. Recovery Girl should be doing that." Endeavor demanded, eyeing her suspiciously. But Kagome who had dealt with the likes of Inuyasha and Sesshomaru among other tyrannical assholes of the feudal era didn't even bat an eyelash at him. She just keep Shoto in her grasp, ignoring Endeavour.
"Excuse me! Don't ignore me! Where do you think you are going with my son!" He shouted, briskly walking towards them with a scowl. Kagome stopped, looked back at the man and with a frown yelled back.
"Somewhere you're not, you walking piece of inexcusable flaming shit."
Endeavour stared wide eyed at her, as she flipped her hair over her shoulder and continued guiding Shoto to her station.
Shoto stared in awe at her, not quite computing what she had just said to his father.
Meanwhile Aizawa had just rounded the corner when he heard Endeavour questioning her, and he was going to step in but then mother bear Kagome had reared her beautiful head.
Was it too early to say he was in love?
He quickly passed the flaming garbage can and went to straight to where Todoroki and Kagome were.
And he walked in on Todoroki quietly sniffling into Kagome's shoulder as they sat on the medical bed together, and she looked up at him, with watery eyes and pouting lips.
"No, we aren't adopting him." He whispered to her, as he came to her side quietly wrapping an arm around her and rubbing a hand on Shoto's back.
"T-thank you, H-h*hiccup*h-higurashi-sensei." Shoto sniffled. Kagome hummed softly, brushing his hair out of his face.
"It's alright Shoto. You can come to me anytime you need." He nodded numbly. "He had a small meltdown when we got in here, I think that's the first time in a while somewhere stood up for him against his father" She spoke quietly to Aizawa, explaining his student's mental state.
"I see. I'll look into therapy for him and maybe mental health checks too." Aizawa mumbled, his heart aching for the boy in Kagome's arms. "Shoto, do you want to continue fighting in the sports festival?"
"yeah…" He answered, wiping his face. Kagome raised an eyebrow at this.
"It that a yes from you or what your father wants?" She asked suspiciously. Shoto didn't respond, instead looking down.
"How about this; you continue the sports festival since you have already started but Endeavor will not be attending the rest of the rounds." Kagome confidently suggested. Shoto and Aizawa looked at her surprised.
"You can do that?" Shoto asked her, confused. Aizawa looked at her incredulously.
"Yep, don't worry about the details." She waved them off. "Now lets heal that ankle and you need to rest a bit before your next round, also hydrate yourself."
After she healed his ankle, Aizawa and her left him in the room to rest. As the couple left, Aizawa turned to her.
"So how exactly do you plan on getting Endeavour to leave?"
"Who said I was making him leave? I only said he won't be attending, I said nothing about him leaving UA grounds." She smirked devilishly. Aizawa stopped in his tracks, staring at her back as she smirked and winked at him one last time before rounding a corner.
He blinked a few times before a fierce blush coated his cheeks and turned his ears red. He grasped his face trying to slow his breathing and heart rate.
Fuck, was it too early to consider marriage?
000
Meanwhile somewhere in UA grounds there was a screaming Endeavour being held captive inside a glowing transparent pink cube. He was blasting the interior with his fire, yet the cube never faltered.
He shouted all sorts of profanities and curses at the young woman leaning against the cube.
And with the biggest shit eating grin, Kagome happily watched the sports festival matches live from her phone.
