Tori POV

I watch them drive off until the car disappears from my eyesight. I lean against the threshold and sigh, "Why does this hurt so much." I ask myself. I let out another sigh and head on inside.

I flop on the couch and veg out waiting for mom, dad, and Trina to walk through the door.

An hour later, the front door slams open. Trina standing at the door with sunglasses on and her arms spread wide in a typical dramatic Trina fashion. "I'm back, little sister. Did you miss me?" I open my mouth but before I can say anything Trina walks past me into the kitchen, "Of course you did. Who wouldn't." Her glasses were still on her face, despite being inside.

I roll my eyes, "Great to have you back home, Trina." I say sarcastically. She blows a kiss at me and winks. I turn back towards the door as I hear mom and dad struggling to get their and Trina's bags inside the house. I hurry up and rush over to unload some of the bags from them. Mom smiles at me, "Thanks, Tor. At least one of my daughters is helpful around here."

Trina yells from the kitchen, "Hey, I made sure the door was open for you guys."

Mom, dad, and I roll our eyes. We set the bags near the bottom of the stairs and then mom pulls me into a hug, "It's good to see you, honey. I hope it wasn't too terrible to be alone here. Nothing bad happened while we were away, right?"

I wave off her concern, "Everything was fine. Nothing exciting happened, just school and hanging out with the gang." I smile as I lie through my teeth.

Luckily mom believes me because she smiles and says, "That's good, sweetie. I'm going to see if I can find something to eat before bed." She heads into the kitchen. I turn and see dad looking at me like he is looking at me through a microscope. I tilt my head, "Hey dad, everything okay?" I raise an eyebrow.

He shakes his head like he was in some type of trance, "Yeah sweetie. I just got this weird feeling like something is different about you. You seem to have this glow to you." He smiles and kisses me on my forehead. My eyes widen and I froze, "Oh god, does he know?"

His eyebrows knit together like he could read my mind, "Did something happen here?" I shake my head, not trusting myself to talk.

He looks like he doesn't believe me but decides to let it go for now. "Okay, well I'm going to follow your mom's example and put something on my stomach." He walks into the kitchen.

I let out a sigh of relief that I didn't know I was holding, "That was a close one." I mumble to myself. I follow him into the kitchen, grabbing an apple. Not feeling as hungry as the rest of my family.

"So Tori, what have you been up to while we were gone?" Mom asks, in between bites of her food. I notice dad looking up from his plate from the corner of my eye. I try to keep my voice as calm and stable as I can. I turn so I can see both of them clearly.

"Oh you know, just the usual shenanigans." I nonchalantly say.

That made dad raises his eyebrow, "Usual shenanigans? Now, I'm worried. Your usual shenanigans tend to either cost me money or I have to make a few phone calls to keep you out of trouble. So, which one is it this time?" He smirks, which calmed my nerves down a bit.

"What? Dad! Nothing happened here. I promise that everything that I did here didn't cost you a single dime or any of your phone calls." I laugh, silently hoping that it comes off as carefree.

"Uh-huh, sure. I'll believe that when I go through a week without any letters, phone calls, visits, or anything that brings angry people to me and my pockets." He retorts with a smirk.

"Oh, come on. That was one time and I said I was sorry and I pay you back with all the money I made over that summer too." I whine as I rub my arm, remembering the sore feeling I had from all that yard work I had to do. "Thank god people in California tend to pay very generously." I think graciously to myself.

Dad laughs as he gets up and put his plate inside the sink. He walks over to me and rubs his hand through my hair, "I know, sweetie. I'm just messing with you." He yawns, "I'm going to head to bed. All that traveling wore me out. Night kiddo." He kisses my forehead. Mom let out a yawn as she follows dad lead, "Night Tori."

I mumble out "Night mom, night dad," as I look down at my phone and I was a bit shocked to see how late it was. I notice that I got text messages from both Jade and Beck separately.

"We just got home, make sure to get some sleep Missy ;). Have a goodnight" - Beck

"Goodnight our Little Sassy :*" - Jade

I giggle and reply back to them, to Jade I sent a sweet little goodnight message. However, my message to Beck was a little bit different. I don't know what came over me but I feel like being a little spicy.

"Mmm, maybe I won't get any sleep tonight. Maybe I'll stay up all night and do whatever I feel like. It's not like I have anything important to do tomorrow ;P."

I press send and bite my lip. My heart is racing to see what will he say. I look up to see Trina looking at me with a calculated look on her face. I start to feel a little nervous, "What are you looking at?"

She tilts her head to the side, "Dad's right. There is something off about you. Something happened while you were home alone, huh?"

I roll my eyes at her, pretending to act annoyed with her assumptions, "You're crazy, weren't you listening when I told mom and dad that nothing happened? What gives you the idea that something had happened here?" I huff. My phone vibrates and makes a little notification sound in my hand. I almost went to check it but realize that if I read it now then Trina would know something is up from my reaction. I had to stop myself from checking to see what Beck says.

"Well, first of all, you have a glow to you that is refusing to go away. Second, you were just smiling and giggling at your phone. And third, you just got a message and I can see that every molecule of you wants to check it but you won't because you're trying to prove a point." She gives me a smirk at the shocked look on my face. She shakes her head, "You forget little sister, I may not act it but I can be pretty observant when I want to be and right now I want to be."

I gulp and fidget with the phone in my hand. "Well, damn. There is no way that I'll be able to get away without telling Trina. I hope Beck and Jade don't get upset with me." I sigh in defeat, "Ok, I'll tell you but this stays between us. Got it?"

She nods her head in anticipation and rolls her eyes, "Ok ok. I promise I won't tell. Now spill."

Author's Note: Hey guys, I'm really sorry for going MIA for a while there. I was really going through a lot in the last few years. I'm going to be honest, I really lost the motivation for this story and it was taking a lot to even revisit it. However, I made a promise to finish this story to myself and I'm going to keep that promise. There won't be speedy updates, but the updates will happen and I promise that I won't rush the ending. So, again I'm sorry for leaving you guys on that long hiatus and thank you for being patient and understanding.
