At the Meade Hall, where everyone is gathered, Spitelout is discussing the next voyage about the Helheim's Gate.

Spitelout: Either we finish them, or they'll finish us! It's the only way we'll be rid of them! If we find the nest and destroy it, the dragons will leave. They'll find another home!

The chief stabs the part of the map where dragon island is located.

Spitelout: One more search. Before the ice sets in.

Viking #7: Those ships never come back.

Spitelout: We're Vikings! It's an occupational hazard! Now, who's with me?

Most of the residents are concerned about it.

Viking #8: Today's not good for me.

Viking #9: I've gotta do my axe returns.

Spitelout signs.

Spitelout: Alright. Those who stay will make sure that the twins won't make any funny business.

As he said it, everyone raised their hands.

Phlegma: To the ships!

Starkard: I'm with you, Spitelout!

Spitelout: That's more like it.

Everyone is dismissed leaving Gobber who drinks his mead with his prosthetic mug.

Gobber: Right, I'll pack my undies.

Spitelout: No, I need you to stay and train some recruits.

Gobber groaned sarcastically.

Gobber: Oh, perfect. And while I'm busy, Astrid can cover the stall. Molten steel, razor-sharp blades, lots of time to herself. What's more, is that she'll go around aimlessly... what could go wrong?

Spitelout: What are we going to do with her, Gobber?

Gobber: Put her in training with the others.

Spitelout: No, I'm serious.

Gobber: So am I.

Spitelout: She'd be killed before you let the first dragon out of its cage.

Gobber: Oh, you don't know that.

Spitelout: Of course, I don't.

Gobber: Very typical.

Spitelout: Listen, you know what she's like. From the time she lost her family and eyesight, she's been... different. She doesn't listen, she has the attention span of a sparrow... I told her to stay in and she goes hunting for... for trolls!

Gobber: Trolls exist! They steal your socks. But only the left ones. What's with that?

Spitelout sighs and decided to leave the Meade Hall.

Gobber: This man needs a block of ice to burn it, as always after he lost Stoick.

Soon, Gobber leaves.

Astrid is bored.

She's been lying down on the bed of the healer's hut for an entire day without wandering around the village or the forest.

She tossed and turned and she couldn't stop for a while.

While doing this, a blonde tomboy just entered the hut holding a book.

Ruffnut: Hey, Astrid. How are you doing?

Astrid: Without training? Thor, no.

Ruffnut sighs.

Ruffnut: Look, I brought you a book that I could help you read.

Astrid: What happened to you from hating the book?

Ruffnut: I borrowed the book from Fishlegs, so I could read something that you could entertain yourself. Maybe I could be interested as well.

Astrid: What's all about the book anyway?

Ruffnut: Fishlegs said that the book was handed to his parents by your mother before you were born.

This caught up Astrid's mind.

Astrid: Would you read it for me?

Ruffnut: Sure.

Ruffnut smiled before opening the first page.

It was Berk's first generation.

One of these dragons is a flock of the deadliest and rarest dragons no one has ever seen.

They were known as Night Furies.

Throughout the generations, Nora's people as a mystical connection with the unholy offspring of lightning and death.

One of its very first people is her father, Nycto Fury.

He is known as the founder of the hybrids due to his bonds with one and creates an elixir that would turn them into dragons when sleeping.

The power also possesses healing.

In which they used their powers to help any being around.

No one knows where they are and where they were.

But someday, they hoped that they could return to the world.

Astrid is dumbfounded at the end and so does Ruffnut.

Astrid: Woah.

Ruffnut: I know, right? I mean, it said it's supposed to be a legend, but all I think is just a coincidence.

Astrid thought for a moment.

Astrid:Coincidence? I don't think that's right. Maybe something's going to change.

Astrid then rolls around the bed away from Ruffnut as she notices.

Ruffnut: Oh, do you want me to leave?

Astrid: If you want to.

Ruffnut: Okay. I'll see you later.

Ruff then leaves the hut but she forgot about the book.

Astrid noticed it but she couldn't read.

She hoped that someday, these legends help her heal her eyes.

Little did she know that someone is watching her from the shadows before they flew away without getting caught.

Later that night, Astrid walks back to her house with her cane.

As soon as she closes the door, she started to feel hungry again.

She then goes to a barrel for a piece of raw fish, in other words, her favorite meal.

Back when she was younger, during her first experience of blindness, she hides in a cove to clear her head when she heard a fish moving around the pond.

With her instincts, she snatches a fish from its position and consumes it raw.

At first, she feels like she's going to barf over eating a living animal.

But when she consumes it, she realized that it's not bad.

So, she keeps it a secret and sometimes buys a barrel of fish from the markets so she won't get suspicious.

After she ate dinner, she cleaned herself off and head to bed.

Although, she couldn't sleep.

Sometimes, she could lose track of time in any way.

Before she drifts into sleep, a knock from her opened window startled her.

She pulls out her axe in defense until she heard a whisper.

???: Don't be afraid, I meant no harm.

Astrid: How should I trust you?

???: I'm just a secret messenger traveling from far and wide to send these letters.

The messenger hands a letter to Astrid and she took it.

Astrid: You know that I'm blind, right?

???: I know, but I want your mentor to read it tomorrow.

Astrid: I see.

???: Well, I'm off now.

Astrid: Wait, how did you get here on Berk?

???: Magic.

Just as the blonde is about to ask once more, a gust of wind somehow drifted her to slumber and the letter sits next to her on her bed.
