Disclaimer: Duh, I'm not the genius that created ME or LotR or Legolas or any of the rest of the stuff you all, I'm sure, recognize. I do own Kalia and anything else not found in Tolkien's writings, though, I don't mind if you borrow them, it'd be flattering. J Anyhoo, don't sue [hey I rhymed!], just enjoy.

Kalia smiled faintly. "Mae govannen." Her gaze slid from the man and the elf to the dwarf, and she frowned slightly, raising one eyebrow. "And who is this?" She asked, more to Legolas than to Gimli, as if he would be unable to answer for himself.

Gimli rolled his eyes and mumbles something about "these arrogant elves", then shrugged and bowed at what, on any other being would be the waist. "I am Gimli, son of Gloin, lady," he answered stiffly, acutely aware of what she, as any other elf, thought of dwarves in general.

Kalia bowed her head slightly to Gimli, a small smile reappearing on her delicate features. "Well met, son of Gloin." She straightened, then looked back to Aragorn and addressed him. "What business does such a...unique... band of individuals have in the plains of Rohan? For, though you hardly resemble orcs, these are suspicious times, and my King demands knowledge of all comings and goings in his lands."

"We have been tracking a band of orcs for many leagues now, who have taken hostage two of our friends. Our hope is that we catch up to them before the orcs harm the pair. Perhaps you have seen our quarry in your travels?"

Kalia bit her lip in thought. "I did see a large group of the creatures loping along the borders of Fangorn at a great speed southwest of here, though I did not care to get close enough to study them further. Perhaps your friends are with them. If you mean to catch them, however, you must hurry, for they are now very distant. I will not detain you further."

Aragorn nodded. "I am grateful, Lady Kalia, for your information and courtesy. Now, we must continue our search, if we ever wish to find them."

Legolas finally found his tongue. "Namarie, mellon; I hope we meet again." He took her hand and kissed it as he bowed gracefully. Kalia turned quickly to her horse and mounted him to hide the blush of surprise on her cheeks.

Gimli merely grunted a rough "goodbye," as Kalia mounted Kiathu. She raised one white hand in farewell and returned a gentle "Namarie," then turned her horse and galloped away.
