Chapter Three

Evening began to fall as Siria made her way back to the campsite. Her mind had cleared slightly and now she watched as everyone gathered around the campfire to eat. Her stomach grumbled a bit, but she still felt out of place and the people she kept running in to made it worse (referring to earlier that day). She watched the campfire give off a soft glow unsure of what to do next. She knew she was supposed to room with that Aravinda chick but really decided against it. Soon she noticed a figure walking toward her, after a moment she was able to make out Hawk with a smile on his face. "You're back. I was beginning to worry. I just thought I'd tell you that if you're hungry there's a place for you but if not; Aravinda's place is over there."
He pointed to a tree house much different from the cabin she had slept in the last few nights. It was high in the tree and had a single large window that faced the campsite. There were a few like this one around the campsite creating the effect of a circle. Siria looked at the tree house and sighing made her way toward it.
When Siria entered the house and turned on a near by oil lamp she noticed that it was barely a house, but was more of a tiny hut. At least one thing hadn't changed she was getting stuck with the tiny quarters. She looked around the room taking it in. On the floor were two mats. One she noticed had her hoodie and duffle bag on it. Both were white with round burgundy pillows and turquoise covers. Across the room was a black changing screen that had been painted with turquoise glitter and a water bucket hanging over head. Siria looked out the window and noticed that she had a clear view of not only the campsite but the trees and ground around it. She imagined that Jay was some where behind those trees...in the city. Siria sighed turning back to the lamp ready to cry herself to sleep again when she spotted a bow in the corner near the door. She picked it up noticing the decoration of vines and pink lotus'. "It's nice isn't it?"
Siria turned quickly looking at Aravinda. "Uh—yeah nice"
"I keep the arrows over the window; just in case. I could make you one."
"Um, thanks" Siria looked at Aravinda suspiciously.
Aravinda smiled. "You're wondering why I'm being so nice."
"Crossed my mind"
"Hawk told me in a little more detail what's going on."
"What, how does he know?"
"He just said you were going through some 'romantic' trouble." Aravinda crossed her arms as Siria placed the bow back in the corner. "Look whatever it is I know how it feels, that's why I took up the bow and arrow...it helped."
"I don't think learning to shoot will help me."
"True, but you have time to find something that will."
"And what if I don't?"
"Eventually you will."
"You're very confident."
"I know."
Siria smirked. "I think I might need some sleep."
"Ok, sleep well." Aravinda walked out of the house leaving Siria alone. She turned and looked at the glow of the fire. She sighed. Why was she here? All she needed was Jay right? To talk to him, be with him, that was all she needed, but it didn't work out. What was wrong? Siria took a deep breathe of the fresh evening air and having successfully ruined her good mood turn out the lamp and went to bed.
