Chapter Seven

Two days later Aravinda woke Siria up early. Aravinda quietly moved sensing hand ready to swat. "Remember you promised Mouse." Siria nodded and then with her eyes still closed sat up.
"Mouse doesn't read."
"Yeah, nice try" Aravinda smirked. A few moments later Aravinda and Siria joined Lev outside in the empty campsite. The sky was dark with hints of light coming from the East. The ground was layered in a then fog that came from the near by water source. Aravinda approached Lev. "We should move quickly it feels like rain."
Lev grinned. "That trick knee shakin' Grandma?" Siria giggled. Aravinda turned giving Lev a sarcastic smile.
The three moved quickly and by the time the day was fully on them they stood on the outskirts of the city. Siria looked apprehensive as Lev continued forward. Aravinda standing next to her smiled. "If you're worried about running into Jay, don't bother. We hardly ever see any of them." Siria nodded and they walked toward the City.
The day continued to be shrouded in dark clouds as Siria and Aravinda browsed through the stalls. Aravinda explained that Lev only came for the heavy lifting and that most of the time he went off on his own. The two continued to browse when they overheard two other girls, one with a green bob and the other radiant blue curls. "Did you hear about the Election?" the Green haired girl questioned.
"Of course, who do you think will be running?" Her friend returned.
"Oh the usual tribe leaders"
"I heard Amber is running. I'd definitely vote for her."
"Amber's not running for the Mallrats, I thought Jay was."
"Jay? Oh he is dreamy."
Aravinda rolled her eyes. Turning back to Siria she noticed that Siria was hardly paying attention to the conversation but instead was looking at some books. "Siria did you hear that?"
"Aravinda do you think Mouse would like Animals or Ballerinas?"
"SIRIA"
"Yes I heard, so what's the big deal?"
"Amber can't run. If she does then, well, let's just say that hawk isn't off as he is playing."
"Ok, so what are you going to do?"
"I have to talk to her."
"I'm not going to the Mall."
Just as Aravinda was going to reply there came shouts from a large group of people. They seemed to be urging something on. Aravinda and Siria moved to get a closer view. Everyone seemed to be forming a large circle and in the center were two guys fighting. One was a young man with red spiked hair and a grunge look about him; the other was Lev. Making their way toward the center Aravinda screamed for Lev to stop. Siria watched as Aravinda moved closer to the center. The crowd grew thicker as more people came to watch. The people around Siria continued to push and shove trying to see. Suddenly someone shoved Siria almost making her lose her balance. She turned to see who it was and noticed Militia moving in. They made a circle locking out the crowd as two others pulled the boys apart. Aravinda who was trying to push pass one of the guards continued to yell Lev's name until he told her to shut up. "Where's Siria?" he grumbled.
Aravinda went wide eyed. "Ah, I'll go find her." Aravinda maneuvered through the crowd trying to find Siria. Mean while Siria stood near a wall just behind the guard. She was shocked at who had entered the circle. Ebony walked confidently her braids, minus three near her temple, were pulled back into a long flowing ponytail. That curled slightly at the end. She wore indigo flared jeans black, heeled boots and a black laced bodice with decorative flame stitching and a red leather jacket. With her was Jay. Siria noticed he was wearing the shirt she had given him. She smiled.
Ebony motioned for the spike haired kid to be let go. She then turned to Lev. "What's you name?"
"None of your business"
Ebony grinned. "Actually it is"
Lev smiled. "Oh Ebony who are you trying to con now?"
"I can have you taken somewhere you wouldn't like to be. NOW answer me when I ask you a question. Who the hell are you?"
Jay placed his hand on Ebony's shoulder. "Ebony, calm down," he turned to Lev. "Listen, we just want to know who you are. You're not recognized in these parts."
Lev sighed. "My name is Lev. I'm with the Eco-tribe known as the Gaians." He ginned turning to Ebony.
Ebony bit her lip in frustration. "Fine, let his go."
The militia men grunted pushing Lev away. Lev dusted himself off and looked through the crowd for Aravinda and Siria. "Hey"
Lev turned. He was looking at Jay. "What do you want?"
"You say with Amber's tribe?"
"Yeah, so?"
"Do you know a girl she just came to you guys."
Lev looked at Jay suspiciously. "Maybe what does she look like?"
As Jay listed off Siria's features Aravinda listened. She slowly walked toward the two. Lev didn't know about Jay and Siria, and Aravinda knew Siria didn't want to be found. Just as Jay finished Aravinda interjected. "Lev, I you, silly goose." She kissed him leaving a stunned look on his face.
"WHAT—"
"Lev we really need to go you know; looks like rain." She gave him warning stare.
"Uh, right, rain" He turned
"What about Siria?" Jay asked.
"Look I hardly have time to get to know people, I can't help you."
Jay turned to Aravinda who avoided his gaze. She quickly pulled Lev away to find Siria, who was still leaning against the wall watching Jay. He sighed turning to catch up with Ebony. Siria opened her mouth to call his name but nothing came out.
