Chapter Nine
The next morning Aravinda walked into the café hoping to find Amber. There was one last thing she needed to go over, but instead of finding Amber she found Jack. She shuddered slightly then getting a whiff of the air she gagged in disgust. What's that smell?"
Jack turned rolling his eyes. "What are you still doing here?"
Aravinda walked over to Jack and lifting his bowl sniffed the contents. "Oh my...Why are you eating this?"
"It is breakfast; what else?"
"Do you Mallrats eat this stuff often?"
"Ehh—no, everyone left early. I had to make something myself. Give it back." Jack grabbed the bowl forcing another bit into his mouth. He swallowed. "Besides, it's not that bad."
Uh, sure" She walked toward the kitchen area. "You don't mind if I make myself something?"
Jack looked at her suspiciously. "Go ahead"
Aravinda smiled helping herself to what was in the cabinets. She was soon lost in her own world and completely forgot about jack. She hummed as she finished her plate. With plate in hand she turned, but stopped abruptly. Jack was looking at her as if she had spouted wing and a horn. She blushed. "I can't help myself, I get carried away."
"Sure" Jack watched as she seated herself next to him. He stared hungrily as she started to eat. "Uh....I'm supposed to tell you something."
She smiled. "Is it and apology?"
"No. Something Amber wanted me to tell you."
"What is it?"
"I don't know; can't remember."
Aravinda frowned. "John—"
"Jack" He looked at her. She had green eyes.
"Whatever, please could you try to remember?"
He smiled. "I could try." He nodded at her food.
"Jack if you want my food, you have to tell me what she said."
Jack looked at her hair: puffy with an orange-red shade. "She said she would a little late picking up Siria; she needed to throw her support with Jay."
Aravinda smiled. "Thanks Jack." Pushing her plate away she stood and ran out the Mall.
When Aravinda made it back to the Loft she noticed Siria packing. "I thought we packed yesterday afternoon."
"It needed to be repacked."
"Ok, but aren't you going to ask me where I've been all this time?"
Siria sighed standing up form one of the makeshift couches. "Where were you?"
"The Mall"
"Oh" Siria nodded and continued packing.
"Siria what's wrong with you? I come up here with great news and—"
"I'm sorry I didn't get much sleep. What is this great news?"
"Well technically it's not really great news, but I met the Mallrats and what everyone said is true."
"What did you think?"
"I didn't see Ebony; that's a relief. Jack: cute, but a big pain. Salene, Jay, it was...interesting." Aravinda looked at Siria. She was staring mindlessly at one of the books she had gotten Mouse. Aravinda sat down next to Siria. "Siria are you sure you're ok?"
"He kissed me."
"What? Who? Lev?"
"Yes and the thing is I actually liked it, but I'm not supposed to. What about Jay, I'm supposed to be in love Jay?"
"And you're not?"
"I don't know anymore."
"Maybe you should talk to him. I mean perfect opportunity; you're in the City, he's right at the Mall."
"He wouldn't want to see me."
"I think he would; he really misses you." She watched as Siria leaned back on the couch. "Look, you two really need to talk, just talk, and I'm sure things can turn out for the better." She smiled. "Now get your coat and go."
Siria standing up sighed. "I hope you're right." And grabbing her coat, she left.
