A Very Rayearth Barbecue

a/n: This is based off of a Labor Day BBQ/Birthday party from when I was six so I don't remember all of it...only from the stories I've heard. Uh...what else...oh yeah, Happy Birthday Nikki-nee-san! (Its my sister's Birthday Saturday...I should be nice and buy her those shoes but I'm poor...)

Disclaimer: I own the plot line. I don't own the CLAMP made characters, I own the Potato Maiden made characters. (Most of the people in this.)

A Very Rayearth Barbecue

Few clouds covered the evening sky in Tokyo. The night was cool and moist, from previous rains earlier that day. At the Ryuuzaki household, the family of three were sitting outside enjoying the weather when discussion of a barbaque/birthday party turned up.

"Are we still going to have the barbecue this year?" Umi asked her parents looking hopeful. Her father thought a moment and smiled.

"Of course, dear. You can invite your friend's and their families again if you'd like," her father said stretching.

The next day, Umi called up her fellow magic knights.

"Do you think you guys can come Sunday? We just finished making sure most of my family is coming, since it doubles as a birthday party for one of my cousins," Umi explained rather hastily.

"I already talked to my mother and father and they said they'd love to," said Fuu.

"My 'nii-san's said they'll come...I think it's because of the food, I'm not sure..." Hikaru said.

On Saturday, the backyard of the Ryuuzaki house was buzzing with activity. The smells of food being barbecued, the air thick with the scent of charcoal. Little children were running in and out of the house, between adults legs. The occasional pop of balloons were heard as well as the sounds of adults talking about what they've been doing since the last birthday or holiday or whatever they haven't seen their relatives at. Horseshoes hitting dirt or the metal propped in the ground was another frequently heard sound, other then the squeal of girls when hit with water balloons.

Three boys of about fifteen however, were leaning against the shed with a bucket of water balloons, waiting for their next victims, which would unfortunately, be the magic knights.

Umi, Fuu and Hikaru didn't see it coming, and sadly, neither did the boys. It was either an unbalanced step, or a throw or even knocking one of the water balloons out of the boys hands, no matter what it was, the magic knights got wet.

Ignoring the snickers from the boys, Umi led the two girls inside to go change out of their wet shorts.

About five minutes later, the magic knights came out wearing men's boxers and sending glares at Umi's cousins. When reaching these cousins a squirt of the water was on the shirt, followed by squeals, sounds of heavy running and more water. The group rounded a corner and stopped by the collapsible pool. Umi and Hikaru, with mischievous looks on their faces walked toward the boys, while the boys backed up.

Next thing that was heard was an audible crack and the sound of rushing water. To the people on the other side of the corner, they heard the crack, and water, a few seconds later a wave of water was coming in full force from around the corner. Five guilty faces followed the water, along with one half sympathetic half laughing face. The other adults and children looked at the six curiously before lightly laughing.
