A Remnant of Nothing. Chapter 2

My eyes opened. They tried to focus, but the darkness was to thick. Suddenly, light blinded me. Through the haze, I saw that I was in some kind of hut. The light finely regulated itself, and I turned my head to the side and looked around. Across the room there was a girl watching me. She had medium length black hair, and large brown eyes. I sat up as fast as I could and scooted away from her.
"Its okay!" She said. "Your safe. I'm not going to hurt you." She looked at me sympathetically.
"Who are you? Where am I?" I questioned her. She gave me an odd look.
"My name is Kagome. "We found you in the forest, screaming." She answered. "You told us your name, and that you had been attacked." I was astonished. I didn't remember meeting them! "I have a name?" I asked.
The girl gave me a surprised look. "Then you really don't remember. Maybe your memory is just a little hazy." She said. " I'm sure you must be able to remember something."
"No, Its you who doesn't understand! My memory isn't hazy, its gone!" Fear was building up inside of me. How could my entire life just be taken away from me? "This is already hard enough please don't make it any worse!"
"Okay! I'm sorry! Please, just calm down!" Kagome cried. "Me and my friends are going to help you in any way we can. Now try to get some rest."
I nodded. "All right, but before I do could you please tell me everything you know about me?" Kagome sighed. "There isn't much to tell." She said. "Like I already told you, Me and my friends found you in a forest not to far from here. You were all banged up. You said that you had been attacked by someone. So, we brought you to this village to recover. That was three days ago. The only information you told us about yourself was your name. Its Katsu."
"Katsu." I said to myself. My name was all I had. "Now you should go to sleep." Kagome commanded. I went and laid down on the pallet she pointed to. My mind was racing. But gradually it calmed down, and I fell into a deep sleep.

I dreamed. I couldn't recall ever having the dream before, but it seemed familiar. I was in the middle of a burning village. The huts around me were caving in. My ears were filled with the sound of the villagers agonized screams as they slowly burnt to death. The air was filled with the smell of their charred, burning flesh. I wanted to help them, but when I tried to assist them I found that I was paralyzed. So, I stood there, forced to watch the people die, one by one, trapped in the burning town. Tears trickled down my face. I felt so guilty. My dream began to fade away.

As I started to wake up, I heard a familiar voice. I opened my eyes. Kagome was siting in the middle of the floor. Sitting by the door was a man with silver hair, and little dog ears on top of his head. That means he must have demon in him. I thought. Across the room there was a woman with a cat curled up in her lap. What caught my attention about her was that she was wearing some type of black armor. She must be some sort of warrior. Sitting next to her was a man. He had short black hair, and was wearing blue robes. Sitting on his shoulder, was a little boy with a red bushy tail. He must have demon in him too. It struck me very odd that I knew all these things about these strangers, but I couldn't remember anything about my past. Go figure.
" You know this is the first time we have been able to just rest in a long time." Kagome said.
"Well I'm sorry I keep you moving around so much." The man with silver hair said. sarcastically.
" I agree with Kagome." Said the man in the blue robes. " We have been working with no play for to long." He said, looking meaningfully at the woman beside him as his hand grabbed her butt.
" Pervert!!" She yelled, as she pummeled him. Kagome glared at the man. Then she looked at me. " O your awake. These are my friends that I was talking about. That's Inuyasha." She pointed to the guy with silver hair . " That's Miroku." She pointed to the groping guy. "I'm Shippo." Piped up the kid on his shoulder. Kagome smiled at him and then pointed to the girl with the weird armor on. " That's Sango. And the cat on her lap is Kiara."
Sango smiled at me "Sorry about the way he was acting" She said, pointing to Miroku. "You get used to it after a while." I smiled. But I was still really shaken up about my dream. It had been so realistic, and those images of burnt and bloody people wouldn't leave my mind.
" Hey, are you all right?" Sango asked me. " You look a little pale."
" Yeah, I'm fine. It was just a dream."

Sorry, that was sort of a filler chapter. But I had to make her meet everyone. I hope I made it entertaining. That was the first time I've ever wrote in first person, so if I made a really big mistake, please tell me. I'm going to be very busy for the next month so if I don't update for a while, that's why.
