Raw: August 24, 2009
Floyd Mayweather is the guest host for Raw tonight, so I just finished having a conversation with him. He was very understanding and gave me the match I requested for tonight. What match would I want? I asked Floyd for a Champion vs. Champion Submission match against Mickie. Even if Floyd hadn't given me my match, next week's guest host, who is the American Dream himself, Dusty Rhodes, would've most likely given me it. Next week was going to be interesting.
I also asked Floyd to give Maryse her rematch against Mickie at Breaking Point, and he approved it as well. I was glad for that. I could beat Mickie up pretty well tonight to get my message across that I'm sick of her disrespect, and Maryse could beat what's left of Mickie to win back the Divas Championship at the pay-per-view.
I sat on some boxes in the hallway, just to kill some time for a while. Miz came and sat extremely close to me. This was very uncomfortable for me, and I didn't like it.
"How are you doing, Marissa?" Miz asks me as he puts his arm around my shoulders. This is extremely uncomfortable. Miz wasn't respecting my boundaries at all. If Randy was around to see this, Miz would've been likely getting a similar reaction that I have when Mickie doesn't respect what Randy and I want.
"Um...good." I respond as I subtly try to distance myself from him.
"So how's everything with Orton? Are you officially on the Hottie Market again?"
So he knew about me and Randy and that whole drama. I should've known.
I roll my eyes. "Randy and I aren't broken up. I just need space for a while. He's still my boyfriend."
"While you're getting your space from him, we could go have some fun in my hotel room. If you know what I mean." Miz winks.
"Two problems with that, Miz. One, I'm with Randy, and two, I don't sleep with pigs. I wouldn't sleep with you even if I wasn't with Randy. I'm going to go now." I get up to leave.
Miz pulls me back by my hair. "You aren't going anywhere. Why don't you give me a kiss?"
Miz pushes me against the wall. What a damn creep. He wasn't getting anything.
"Get the hell away from me!" I spit at him.
"Not happening. You can at least give me a kiss. No one else is around." Miz goes in to kiss me, but someone pulls him away from me.
I look up to see it's Randy who pulled Miz away from me. I'm actually relieved to see Randy right now. Miz was about to be in deep shit with Randy, and I knew it.
Randy grabs Miz's hair and pulls him close to speak to him with a tone that's even colder than what I'd gotten on Saturday. "I suggest, boy, that you stay away from her."
Miz chuckles. "You don't need to protect her, Orton. You're the one she's scared of. Your own girlfriend is scared of you. That's the only reason she hasn't left you for me yet."
This looked bad, but I kind of wanted to see Randy intimidate Miz if it meant Miz wouldn't bother me ever again.
Randy narrowed his eyes. "Even if she wasn't with me, she wouldn't sleep with you. She's smart enough to not sleep with pigs."
"She's slept with you."
"I changed my ways for her."
"But Melina told me she lost her virginity to…"
Randy slammed Miz against the wall. "Stay away from Marissa!"
This was Randy taking out his anger on Miz with that same scary and intimidating temper that freaked me out on Saturday. It wasn't just Randy's anger from what Miz just tried to do to me, but Randy was taking out all his anger on Miz. I could see it in Randy's eyes. I could also see the fear in Miz's eyes.
Randy hit Miz in the gut. Miz rolled over in pain. Randy kicked him in the ribs continuously. Randy would then drive his knee between Miz's shoulders. Miz yelled out in pain. Randy was going a little too far. No one else was in the area, so it was up to me to calm Randy down.
"Randy!" I shouted and gently grabbed his arm as he wouldn't pay attention to me. "Don't get yourself suspended over this! He's clearly received the message!"
Randy looked at me with anger in his eyes. I could see that temper. I am not running away this time, even if he yells at me. He needed to stop beating on Miz before he ended up getting suspended for it.
"I'm not done with him yet." Randy mutters with a cold tone.
"What's it worth for you, Randy? You'll get suspended! I know he deserved some of this, but you're taking it too far! What has happened to you? You're not yourself! This is exactly why I've not spoken to you since Saturday!" I remark.
Randy looks at me shocked. "This is me! Maybe I've changed a little, but I'm still the man who saved you from whatever I could! I'm still the man who would save you even if it cost me my career! When someone tries to do what Miz was, you can't blame me for being pissed!"
"Keep trying to convince yourself that, Randy! You've changed these past couple weeks! Ted and I talked about it yesterday, and the more I think about it, the more change I see! Something's clearly going on! What is this about?"
"This isn't the place to discuss this!"
"Quite frankly, I really don't care about where we discuss things right now. If you keep this up, Randy, you'll hurt everyone you care about. You're already hurting me." I wiped a tear from my face.
"How am I hurting you?"
"You scared me and intimidated me on Saturday when you lost your temper, Randy. I've been too freaked out to talk to you alone. Now, I have, and you're yelling at me and damn near killing the Miz. I know he was being a creep, but he's not worth a suspension for you."
"I am not trying to hurt you, and Miz deserves getting hurt for trying to do that to you!"
We stand there staring at each other intensely for a few minutes of total silence before Randy pulls me into an empty room. He locks the door behind us. I can see that temper very clearly and am a little anxious now.
"What don't you understand?" Randy gives me a serious look. "I've been understanding. I was understanding when you said you needed space. Miz was being a creep and just tried to force himself on you. I was doing you a favor."
I look towards the door and consider going to unlock it and leaving, but I don't move.
Randy grabs my hand. "Cat got your tongue, Rissa? You aren't talking now. You had plenty of things to say when we were around Miz."
"This is exactly what I was talking about, Randy. This is the kind of pretty much scary and intimidating shit you've been pulling. I'm not dealing with this, Randy."
"I'm not trying to be scary. Why are you acting like I'm some bad guy now? I was trying to protect you from Miz."
"Listen, I understand what you were trying to do today, but Miz isn't worth it. You weren't just taking out your anger on him for what he tried to do to me. You were trying to take out all your anger on him, and we both know I'm right. You can't just make him your personal punching bag and risk getting suspended."
"I highly doubt I'd get suspended if people knew he'd been harassing you and I had stopped it."
"That's not what this is about though. It's about your scary and intimidating temper that's been going on for like three days now and the fact that something that you won't discuss has bothered you to the point you are having this bad of a temper even towards me."
"Like I said before, this isn't the place to discuss it, Marissa."
"Then what is the place to discuss it? With the way you've been towards me Saturday and today, I'm not all that willing to go places with you, Randy. This is ridiculous. If you keep this up, you won't have a girlfriend any longer because I'm not going to tolerate you having a scary and intimidating temper towards me."
"I'm honestly fine with discussing it anywhere that's not work, but I don't think you're completely understanding where I'm coming from. Believe me, babe, I'm trying to protect you."
"If we're not going to fully talk about this now, I don't want to hear it. Just let me leave. I have things to get ready for." I unlock the door to get ready to leave.
"What kind of things?"
"For your information, Randy, I have a match against Mickie to get ready for. It's a Submission match actually, and I'll be damned if I let her one up me two nights in a row."
Randy sighs. "Fine, go get ready for your match. We can talk about this after work. We'll talk about this at the hotel. Meet me in my room. You still have the other key to it, right?"
"I do have it. See you at the hotel." I opened the door and walked down the hall.
I went into my locker-room. Michelle is in there too, but no one else was in there thankfully. "What happened when you went to see Floyd? What took you so long? I thought you would've been back a while ago."
"Floyd wasn't the only person I ended up talking to." I answer.
"Who else did you end up talking to?"
"Well, when I tried to get a few minutes alone, Miz came up and tried to convince me to sleep with him."
"What? What a creep."
"There's more. Randy showed up to see it and ended damn near killing Miz, and Randy and I ended up arguing."
"Why did you argue with Randy about it? I'm sure Miz was being way out of line towards you."
"Randy took it too far with his temper yet again, so I had to stop him. He was angry about it, and I told him he isn't acting like himself. We argued, and he took me to an empty room and locked the door. He started to get really bad with the temper again, so I told him I needed to get ready for my Submission match to have an excuse to leave. He told me to meet him at his hotel room later, so we can talk about whatever this is because he refuses to talk about it at work."
Michelle's eyes grew wide. "You're going to go?"
"Yeah, I'm going. I don't agree with him having a temper, but I'm too concerned to pass up the chance to find out what's going on with him."
"You're going by yourself?"
"He didn't say to bring anyone. I think it's supposed to be a private conversation."
"Be careful, Rissa. Don't let him get to you. He was wrong to have that kind of temper towards you. Remember that."
"Don't let who get to you?" Ted asks as he walks in with Maryse, and Kelly.
I shot Michelle a look to warn her not to say anything, as I really didn't want all of my business with Randy out there, but she clearly didn't get the message.
Michelle looks at Ted. "Randy."
Ted turned to me. "He actually talked to you?"
I sigh. "It wasn't pleasant. He wants to continue our conversation at the hotel in his room."
"Be careful. Ever since he ran out of cigarettes yesterday, he hasn't been himself again. His temper is awful without those cigarettes."
"I know. I heard. I'll be careful, but I'm standing my ground. I'm going to find out what or who has been making him so mad."
("Obsession" plays)
"This is a Submission match scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Richmond, Virginia, the WWE Divas Champion, Mickie James!"
I know I want that girl so bad
I lie awake at night
And think of all the things that I would do
With a girl like that…
"And her opponent, from Saint Louis, Missouri, the WWE Women's Champion, Marissa!"
Ding! Ding! Ding!
Mickie puts me in a Sleeper Hold. I get out of it. We exchanged punches until I hit her with a Clothesline. I lock in an Armbar on her. Mickie barely manages to escape it. We fight more. Mickie goes for another Sleeper Hold, but I duck and trip her. I lock in the Figure Four. Mickie grabs the ropes to break the submission hold.
We go at it again. Mickie tries to escape the ring, but I grab her legs and lock in the Sharpshooter, which Shane had taught me recently when we were going over wrestling moves together. Mickie tries to escape the submission, but she fails and ends up tapping out.
"Here is your winner, the WWE Women's Champion, Marissa!"
Mickie rolls out of the ring as I celebrate. I hear someone laughing maniacally and immediately get worried as I stop celebrating. I look up at the titantron. I couldn't believe who was up there. It was Kane. He looked at me, and I was freaked out.
Kane smirks. "You know, Marissa, this high horse you've been riding on lately has been getting very noticeable. It's admirable. Your career is going well, and I respect it. However, I think you fail to realize something. You're in a position that makes you draw a lot of attention to not only the Divas, but also the Superstars. It's getting hard to ignore the fact that you're not only the Women's Champion but also the girlfriend of the WWE Champion, Randy Orton. If he didn't tell you earlier, I've been sending him threats involving you for weeks, and I will go through with them. I'd watch my back if I was you. Randy is a menace. I'll give him that. I demand a WWE Championship match, and I'll do whatever I have to do to get that championship, even if I do have to go after you. This is your only warning, so I'd make sure your boyfriend becomes very agreeable very quickly."
The titantron blacked out. I went backstage as my head was filled with anxious thoughts.
I hadn't seen Randy after Kane's threat. It had shaken me up horribly, and I was hoping to find Randy because I knew this was what everything has been about. Kane had sent threats about me to Randy, and Randy had been trying to keep it quiet to stop me from freaking out.
I was freaking out now though, and I had taken some time after my match to debate whether I wanted to still wait until we were at the hotel or go see him now at work.
I had known Randy, Ted, and Cody were in the main event tonight, so after the match was over, I decided to take my chance and go wait outside Legacy's locker-room to ensure I could talk to my boyfriend.
I stood outside the door right now. It had taken a while to track down the locker-room, so I waited outside the locker-room to avoid possibly catching Cody or Ted indecent as I definitely didn't want to see that. I could be patient and wait on them before I see Randy. I looked over anxiously as the locker-room door opened. Ted and Cody walked out with no Randy in sight.
"How're you doing?" Cody asks.
I shake my head. "Not good, honestly. Can't be all that happy about winning my match after that threat. Is he…"
"He's in there. He's having a breakdown of some sort."
"A breakdown?"
Ted nods. "He won't talk, but he's just been a mess. Keeps looking around and pacing like an anxious mess. He's totally distraught about all of this."
"And he wouldn't talk?"
"Yeah, we're even a little unsure about leaving him alone." Cody adds.
"Go to the hotel. I got this."
"Are you sure?" Ted asks. "What about what happened Saturday and earlier today?"
"To be honest, I'm just worried about Randy's well-being right now. Go to the hotel. I'll be okay."
Ted and Cody reluctantly walked away. I slowly walked into the locker-room and closed and locked the door behind me. I put my bags down and watched on anxiously as Randy kept pacing without noticing me. I felt tears in my eyes as I kept watching Randy, unsure of what to say to him.
Randy froze as he finally noticed me. "Hi, baby."
I look at Randy as tears are rolling down my face. I can't bring myself to speak. Randy walked over and pulled me into his arms to comfort me.
"Is he telling the truth?" I asked quietly.
Randy looked away. "Yes."
"Why didn't you tell me or the others?"
"I didn't want you to be worried about it. I'm so pissed about all this. There's no reason to drag you into anything and put you at risk. Some of us play characters. Kane is an actual deranged psycho who needs his ass kicked!"
"Randy, save your anger for Kane. Why take it out on someone when you can use it on him?"
"I got it. I'll take it out on Kane."
"Is this what's been making you smoke other than our problems?"
"Yeah. He sent me a threat via text while we were ring shopping with John. I didn't want to freak you out by telling you, but I didn't handle it the right way."
I touched his arm. "Randy, don't snap on me like that again."
"I don't plan on it. It should've never happened. I'm so sorry for everything. Are we staying together? I understand if you want to break up after how I was towards you."
I kissed him. "I don't want to break up with you, as long as you don't pull that shit again. Randy, I've fallen in love with you. More than I've been in love with anyone else. It isn't just a casual thing where we're dating. I'm absolutely in love with you and thinking of a future with you."
Randy smiled as he held me close. "I know. I heard you and Michelle yesterday after your match. You two passed me without noticing, and yes, I feel the same way."
"You have no idea how glad I am to hear that."
"I'm so sorry. I'm gonna find a way to keep you safe. I promise you that."
"I know, Randy. I know you will."
