"EHAEHAEHAEHAEHAE!"
The wind blew back Anarchy's hair as his worm raced up those tracks. He remained balanced on its head, black and red heterochromia eyes darting between the three Spamton NEOs flying towards him on jet wings. Their heads all swiveled and swung while they cackled out of sync, yet despite their lack of aiming they all pointed their arm cannons right at Anarchy. Those barrels ignited with white hot light, and Anarchy yanked back his Devilsknife, the blade of which dripped with Darkness.
Lasers fired, orbs of light were sent blasting out of those barrels. They whizzed through the air at breakneck speed, only to be slashed in two with the swing of Anarchy's Devilsknife. Anarchy swung that scythe-ax back and forth, cleaving through blast after blast and sending sparks and shards of shattered light flinging through the air behind him. He spun Devilsknife in his hand after slashing apart the final blast, pulling the blade behind himself before whipping it forward. It flung through the air like a buzzsaw, and one of those Spamton NEOs hastily pivoted in air, spinning to the side and letting the wicked spin of that blade fly past him.
The moment Devilsknife was past the NEOs however, its trajectory changed. It cut to the side, and in an instant it cleaved clean through the mess of wires suspending those sad puppets in air. The lights in their eyes went out as their connection to Fortunate Spamton was severed, and the three Spamton NEOs all plummeted from the sky. They shattered against the dirt while Devilsknife flung back towards Anarchy. He reached out and caught it in his right hand, stopping its spin and reaching behind his back to hand it off to his left hand once more. "That all you got?!"
"THAT WAS JUST A FREE SAMPLE!" Fortunate Spamton assured before slurping those dangling wires up back past his massive smile and into his mouth. Anarchy was more than halfway up those tracks now, wouldn't be long and his worm would bring him right to that core. Fortunate Spamton couldn't have that, so he yanked up one hand and swung it down onto the tracks in front of him. "IF YOU WANTED TO UPGRADE TO OUR [[Premium gold membership]], YOU SHOULD'VE SAID SO!"
Anarchy's eyes widened some when Spamton slammed his arm down on the tracks, but they did not break. Instead, they bent and curled as though they were more cable than wood and metal. The tracks waved down around his arm and back up beneath Anarchy, cracking like a whip and sending him and his worm flinging off of the rails. The both of them were launched high into the sky, and Spamton locked onto them with those spotlight eyes.
"Good goin' big hoss! Think outside the box!" Anarchy called down his encouragement with a mad grin. His worm coiled like a spring beneath him while his upward momentum gradually slowed, and he gripped Devilsknife tight while he once more yanked it back behind himself. The blade of his prophet crackled with freedom, cold steel vibrated with Darkness, and with added weight Anarchy slashed down at the heaven bound robot below. "Try not to die too soon, I'm startin' to enjoy myself!"
An electric "Uee hee hee!" echoed out of Devilsknife as it was slashed through the air, and from its blade Dark power blasted. Chaotic magic on a sharp arch cleaved down at rapid speed, its mass expanding steadily on its descent until it was big enough to slice Fortunate Spamton in two. The massive mech didn't move, its body was too slow. And with a crash, that enormous slash exploded into Fortunate Spamton's chest, blasting out a wave of Darkness. All light vanished in the wake of that blast, a vantablack void consumed the battlefield for a moment... Before the lights came back on.
Anarchy plummeted back towards the earth, his worm disappeared back into the shadows slipping over his body. His scarlet eyes watched the mass of grey smog ahead of him carefully, he could see the smoke rising and starting to dissipate as he landed back in the blood and ash soaked mud. Crushed ents, dead soldiers, shredded worms, Wyrm chunks, decimated tanks... Anarchy took just a moment to glance over the devastation. There was a point in time were it may have meant something to him to see such destruction left in his wake, but that time had long since passed.
Suddenly, light exploded to life. An updraft of wind sent the dust before Anarchy blasting away while a flash of blue illuminated the battlefield. Sapphire strobe lights flashed over the corpses like they'd died in a rave but their gruesome mutilations told a different story. The only light besides the flashing blue was the piercing red of Anarchy's stare, which peered straight up at the smiling face of Fortunate Spamton.
"NICE TRY, [[Shih-theed]]! BUT MY [[Bluelight specil]] GIVES ME ALL THE [[MacAfee virus protection]] I NEED!" Fortunate Spamton's spotlight eyes settled on The Anarchist below while he cackled, sapphire energy crackling over his metal body. It seemed that slash had cleaved into his chest plate alright, but wires and metal were rapidly pulling back together under those flashing lights. "IT'S GONNA TAKE MORE THAN [[Godblood]] TO KEEP ME FROM HOLDING UP MY END OF THE DEAL!"
Anarchy didn't say a word, he didn't have to. He stared up at that looming puppet, almost admired the work that must've went into making the machine. He was ant sized when compared to Fortunate Spamton, but that was alright. He had friends to back him up. In the next instant, Fortunate Spamton's shoulders lifted upwards, revealing row upon row of missile launchers hidden within. And Anarchy found himself laughing right with the heaven bound salesman while hundreds of pink and yellow dot sights locked on to him.
Jets blasted and rockets fired out from those hundred launchers. Strange missiles tore through the air, every warhead wore a Spamton head and those heads were all laughing that glitchy laugh as they zoned in on The Anarchist below. Anarchy just cackled right back, throwing his arms out to his sides and watching those missiles blot out the half Dark sky. In the next instant they crossed the distance, and a symphony of explosions rocked the battlefield. Fires ignited, blast after blast after blast shredded the crater deeper and deeper. It was as if every missile took another bite out of the earth, rapidly devouring the battlefield to nothing but smoke and flames.
And within those pink and yellow flames, two massive scarlet orbs snapped open. In the next instant, embers were sent flinging through the air as a Wyrm blasted at mache speed out of the maw of devastation. Its murder happy eyes were locked on to the throat of Fortunate Spamton, who threw his hands up and wiggled his fingers with anticipation. "EW! SCALY FERRET!"
he threw those hands forward just as Anarchy's Wyrm lunged at him, catching the both of its jaws in his iron grip and being forced to skid back on his heels. Rancid giggles exploded out of the Wyrm's throat before Fortunate Spamton pivoted, his upper body spinning around without his legs moving. He dragged the Wyrm through the air with him in attempts to throw it away from himself, but it was quick to latch its tail onto Spamton's leg. The rest of its body followed, and in just a few moments the malevolent serpent had coiled entirely around the massive mech.
Spamton's metal frame creaked and groaned as the Wyrm attempted to squeeze the life out of him. With his arms now trapped at his sides under the gruesome grip of the Wyrm's body, the beast had ample time to open its maw wide. It hissed as it prepared to snap forward and chomp the face off of Fortunate Spamton, before those spotlight eyes suddenly zoned in. The light in those glasses turned into ultrabright pinpricks, before suddenly exploding out in width once more. Pink and yellow lasers fired out of Spamton's shades, and they instantly burned right through the head of the Wyrm, decapitating it in a brutal ray of unstoppable heat.
"YOUR [[Silly string]] CAN'T HOLD ME NOW, I'VE GOT [[The LIGHT]]!" Fortunate Spamton shoved his arms out to his sides after the smoldering neck of Anarchy's Wyrm crashed into the ground, sending the rest of its body tumbling down after it. The twin lights of his eyes darted back to the wall of smoke and fire across from him, and one of his arms rapidly changed shape back onto that hand cannon. He pointed his blaster into the darkening mist, "SO GO ON, BRING ALL YOUR CREEPY CRAWLIES AND YOUR [[30 kromer haircut]]!"
Spamton didn't receive an answer, at least not for a moment. But then, once again, scarlet eyes opened in the mist. Six of them, in fact. The ground trembled as eight legs began to move, and the smoke and ash slowly parted around the massive head of The Scorpion. Standing atop that head once more, spinning Devilsknife in his hand like a buzzsaw, was Anthony The Anarchist.
"Happy to oblige, big hoss!" As Anarchy spoke, his Scorpion snapped its pincers. It was lower to the ground than Fortunate Spamton was, but its massive body was still around the same size as the mega mech before it. Its tail stood slowly, coiled back and ready to strike. There they stood now, two enormous creatures at opposite ends of a devastated battlefield. Darkness slithering behind The Anarchist and his Scorpion, light flickering behind Fortunate Spamton. A blue orb was hardening into a solid shape in Spamton's blaster, pitch black poison was dripping from The Scorpion's stinger. The battlefield vibrated with tension... And then Anarchy pointed Devilsknife out at the man made monstrosity before him.
"Just remember that you asked for it."
Chapter 94: A War Revolving
Or: NOW'S YOUR CHANCE TO BE A [[GIRL BOSS]]
Big Shot by Roomtone started playing as that massive blue sphere fired out of Spamton's cannon. It flung up into the air on an arch, only reaching so high before dropping back down towards The Anarchist and his Scorpion like a stone. Without a moment's hesitation, The Scorpion's stinger darted out, jabbing its vicious point right into the pipis plummeting down towards it.
The Fortunate Pipis was split around that stinger with a spiderweb of cracks in an instant. In the next, that egg exploded apart, and from within hundreds of Spamtons plummeted down. A salesmen fire sale, the three foot tall puppets all cackled that skipping, bit crunched laugh as they rained down upon The Anarchist mouth first. Their heads expanded at random, their teeth clattered together and they all shouted about deals and kromer and blocked hyperlinks and especially big shot potential in a symphony of computer noise.
Anarchy yanked back Devilsknife while his Scorpion's pincers reached into the Spamton rain and crushed as many marionettes as it could in its claws. Anarchy slashed upwards at the hundreds of Spamton slipping through his Scorpion's attacks, and Dark energy fired off Devilsknife in a brutal upwards slash. Anarchy ripped that scythe-ax back and forth, to and fro, sending a barrage of Dark slashes up into the cloud of glowing glasses dropping down towards him. Those curved blades of energy exploded against the Spamton rain, creating plumes of smoke for puppet chunks and the remaining Spamton to drop through.
Anarchy kept hacking and slashing until finally a Spamton had fallen so far that he didn't even have time to blast it with a Dark slash, instead just cutting it in two with Devilsknife's blade. The split Spamton dropped down in two parts behind Anarchy, rolling across the body of his Scorpion while Anarchy tossed Devilsknife up over his head. The chaotic blade reached a certain height and then paused there, beginning to radiate Darkness.
An orb of black engulfed Devilsknife while Anarchy punched the big head right off the next Spamton that dropped into his range, and then black orbs began firing off of the sphere that Devilsknife was shrouded in. Each orb was marked with either a heart, a spade, a club, or a diamond, and they each exploded into a barrage of whatever shape they were marked with when they crashed into one of the Spamtons. Chaos Bomb rained down around Anarchy, who was busy ripping through whatever little capitalism monster got within grabbing range.
Hearts, spades, diamonds and clubs flew through the air while Anarchy punched clean through the plastic chest of one Spamton, yanking that arm back just in time to reach out with the other and grab the Spamton that followed behind the one he'd just punched through by the top of the head. He yanked that one down into the knee he was throwing up at it, but the marrionette just opened its massive maw and bit down on Anarchy's knee, laughing all the while. "EHAEHAEHAEHAEHAH!"
Snarling at this taste of his own medicine, Anarchy yanked that Spamton off his knee and whipped him high into the air and right into one of the Chaos Bombs raining down. It struck the bomb and blasted apart, sending diamonds and puppet chunks flinging through the air. By the time those chunks hit the ground Anarchy had already ripped through three more Spamtons, throwing the one he'd just bisected with his bare hands out to his left and right and leaning forward to bite right through the forehead of the next one falling down, crushing in its head with his jaws and whipping it to the side with the vicious throw of his head.
With his left arm thrown back his crowbar slipped right back up his sleeve, and Anarchy swung it forward to smack the next Spamton over the horizon. On the backswing he decapitated another, his free hand darting out to grab a third by the nose and throw it onto the ground in front of him, only for his foot to crush down on its head the moment it hit the back of his Scorpion. He kicked the remaining body right into the wide open jaws of the next Spamton falling down before blasting it aside with the swing of his crowbar.
Fortunate Spamton cackled, his head swiveled and bounced while his cannon fired more of those Fortunate Pipis. The Scorpion cracked them open in mid air all the same, and any of the hundreds of smaller Spamtons that dropped out of them might as well have been dropping into a wood chipper. Still, the army of salesmen were like a mist around The Scorpion and its master, shrouding them almost entirely... Until finally, one of those pincers launched out from within, snapping shut with brutal force right around Fortunate Spamton's cannon arm and crushing it in around the Pipis in its barrel.
"AY CHIHAUHAU!" Fortunate Spamton proclaimed while his arm was yanked to and fro in The Scorpion's grip. Spamtons poured out of his crushed cannon and tumbled down The Scorpion's arm, falling right in the path of The Anarchist running up The Scorpion's arm and towards that pincer. Anarchy cleaved through any of the jibbering puppets that dropped into his path with Devilsknife once more in his grasp, sprinting at high speeds up towards where pincer met busted cannon and looking to jump onto Fortunate Spamton's arm. Before he could finish his trek however, those spotlight eyes landed on him. "NOT SO [[$0.99 fasting pills]], ANARCHRIST!"
Those spotlights zoomed in to pinprick dots on top of Anarchy's head, before once again suddenly blasting out wide in twin beams of energy. Boiling light rained down from above, and Anarchy only had time to glance up at it as the shell he was running up gave way beneath him. He dropped right into his Scorpion's pincer as though its body was water and not titanium, disappearing from sight just before that searing shine exploded into The Scorpion's arm.
The kaiju arachnid hissed with agony as the shell on its pincer bubbled and boiled. It was sent stumbling back while its steaming and burning right claw crashed down to the ground. The limb dragged limp while the beast's Dark chitin armor boiled and simmered, and Fortunate Spamton threw his head back and stared up at heaven. "DID YOU SEE THAT, [[Mama]]? EVEN HIS CREEPIEST CRAWLY CAN'T GET PAST ME!"
The Scorpion's stinger launched down at Spamton while he threw his head back, and he yelped when he spotted it crashing down towards him. Quickly his unbroken arm darted out and caught that tail just below the stinger, stopping it before it could crash down into the flashing core in his chest. With his good hand preoccupied, The Scorpion's still functioning claw launched up and crashed its closed pincer right into Spamton's gut with brutal force.
Metal crunched, and Fortunate Spamton was forced to double over the steel claw that had just punched him in the gut. His grip loosened, and that stinger tore itself from his grip. It flung down, driving its poisoned point right into Spamton's shoulder and creating a metal screech as it shredded steel in its wake. Spamton flinched and shifted at this, his head darted up and stared at the stinger at an unnatural angle before his arms flung up towards The Scorpion's tail.
Fortunate Spamton wrapped his arms around that stinger, and once more his upper body spun without the motion of his legs. With monstrous strength and a symphony of hydraulic hisses and gear creaks, Fortunate Spamton tore The Scorpion off the ground! He yanked it up into the air, spinning it right with him. He dragged the beast through the air for several rotations, sending massive gusts of wind flying out around the two of them before finally his hands released their grip and that stinger unstuck from his shoulder.
The Scorpion raced on its back through the air, being launched across the shredded battlefield and away from the heaven that Fortunate Spamton protected. As his Scorpion was thrown, Anthony jumped suddenly out from its exposed underbelly. He launched right out of his beast's dark flesh and high into the air, Devilsknife vibrating violently in his hand. Darkness pulsed from the weapon, flashing out rhythmically in an orb around The Anarchist like some chaotic heartbeat.
Anarchy reached back with his free hand, he wrapped all his fingers around Devilsknife's handle. his muscles tensed, his teeth grit, his eyes widened with a red flash and a Dark shadow. Then, as if the blade weighed as much as The Scorpion that Fortunate Spamton had just tossed, Anarchy dragged Devilsknife through the air and swung with impossible force. From its blade, Darkness exploded. A wave of chaos, one enormous Final Chaos blasted out from the blade in a black light tidal wave. Once more Jevil's voice echoed out of Devilsknife, "Bye bye!"
Fortunate Spamton recoiled dramatically, throwing his hands up and waving them for a moment. Then, he yanked his arms back in towards himself, crossing them in an X in front of himself. Once again blue light ignited around the mega mech. It flashed in his core, it gleamed in the four NEO power cells on his back. But, regardless of this, Anarchy's Final Chaos blasted right through that sapphire aura and crashed into Fortunate Spamton's guard.
Once more Darkness exploded out around the impact. All light was dragged into the vantablack epicenter that was Final Chaos's collision with Fortunate Spamton, for a moment the entire world went dark... Then, the lights came back on again. Anarchy dropped down to the ground, landed on his feet once more. Devilsknife still vibrated with glee in his hand, but his expression remained stoic. His eyes stared out across the obliterated fields, over broken bodies, shredded flora and devastated machines. His gaze settled on the pitch black smoke steaming into the sky, the smog that was gradually clearing.
Soon enough, he could make out a shape. Laying back against a wall that had shattered inward around his weight, with arms now just smoldering stumps and legs twitching and sparking in failed attempts to move, was Fortunate Spamton. Black stains marked his metal body, Darkness had scorched him. Still, his head swiveled and his spotlight eyes burned the Dark creeping across the sky. The wall around him was crumbling, massive stones had tumbled onto his body and buried much of his lower body in rubble. The shoulder that stinger had struck was melting, as though the beast's poison was acidic to Spamton's Fortunate body.
"I CAN FEEL [[The DARK]] CREEPING IN... [[It hurts...]]" Fortunate Spamton spoke, Anarchy thought it was more to himself than anybody else. His mouth hung open, that despondent stare watched the sky above... Then, his head swung down, and those spotlight eyes pierced the smog and landed right on The Anarchist. That plastic smile made a comeback. "ANARCHY! IS THIS WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO BE A [[Basement boy]]?!"
"More or less." Anarchy answered casually, spinning Devilsknife in his hand. He was walking across the obliterated valley now, it appeared he was hardly in a rush to kill Spamton now that the mighty mech couldn't move. In spite of this situation's grimness, Spamton cackled again.
"TO BE BORN WITH A [[Heart shaped object]], TO HAVE [[Godblood]] IN YOUR VEINS..." Spamton prattled on while Anarchy marched towards him, all while more mechanical whirs echoed out of his sternum. Panels moved out of the way, and row after row of stage lights were revealed buried in the Gundam's frame. Light flickered within their bulbs, and in the next instant those stage lights were blaring. Hundreds of scorching beams blasted through the smog, racing towards The Anarchist. "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW [[Lucky costumer]] YOU ARE?!"
Anarchy didn't respond, he didn't see any point in it. He could explain that his blood was worthless and his soul was heavier than anyone could comprehend, but it would never make sense to Spamton. Those without power would always desire it, and they'd never understand why they shouldn't. So instead of debating the deranged salesmech, Anarchy bent at the knees. In the blink of an eye he'd darted to the side, letting one of those spotlights scorch through the mud where he'd just been standing. With that, Anarchy was off. He blasted across the battlefield, darting and weaving between the barrage of lasers exploding out of Fortunate Spamton.
In the flashing lights and the rapidly shifting shadows they created, Anarchy didn't even seem to be a solid shape. A pair of glowing red eyes in a shifting and stretching black shadow, he was The Dark and he was racing through a storm of light towards Fortunate Spamton. He darted left and right, he jumped and ducked as lasers blasted by. But Spamton didn't despair as The Anarchist closed in, instead just letting his mouth open wide. Gears shifted, valves opened, and then... A vacuum sound.
As the blaring stage lights slowed their blasting, Anarchy noted an unnatural wind. His hair was starting to lift, the misty Darkness was starting to be pulled off his body and sent spiraling on an arch through the air. Hastily he skidded to a stop, looking up towards the now expanded head of Fortunate Spamton and watching him inhale with monstrous force. Debris was starting to lift from the ground, being sucked up right with the dirt and towards that metal maw.
Anarchy planted his feet, crouched down and placed one hand on the ground. But those winds were getting stronger, his body was starting to feel impossibly light. Suddenly, Anarchy's eyes darted over his shoulder to spot a broken tank dragging across the ground in that vacuum's grasp. It was racing right towards him, and on instinct he jumped to evade it. The moment he did he found himself muttering cuss words, the grip of Fortunate Spamton's inhale taking hold of him and pulling him up through the air.
"Just how many tricks does this jackass know?!" Anarchy snarled as he pivoted in air, swinging his body around the tank flying up from the ground at his back. He reached out and grabbed ahold of its barrel, flipping on top of the busted machine and perching there as he was dragged up through the sky. His scarlet eyes darted to the dead ent body ahead of him, and without another word he jumped from the tank, lunging across the gap and landing on the broken tree.
Anarchy ducked to the side as one of those spotlights flashed upwards, slicing that ent body clean in half. Fires ignited along the slash, and Anarchy was quick to dive up from the burning tree. He grabbed onto the barrel of a tank that had been sliced in two, spinning on it like it was some kind of monkey bar before releasing his grip and launching himself even higher into the air.
Straightening out in the sky overhead, Anarchy yanked Devilsknife back once more while his glare settled on Fortunate Spamton's gaping maw. If the ugly bot wanted something to chew on, Anarchy had something for him. Jevil's giddy laughter echoed out of Devilsknife as Darkness once more steamed from its blade, a pitch black pulse was quickly growing around Anarchy once again.
But, before Anarchy could slash and throw one more Final Chaos down at Fortunate Spamton... He stopped inhaling. His teeth shut, his chest puffed out... And then, his jaws snapped back open. And from within, white light blared. It bubbled out of Spamton's mouth, shaped rapidly into a sphere. Then, it sprouted a pointed nose. A soulless smile peeled back the smooth surface of that sphere, and two circles above that pointed nose that resembled Spamton's glasses took shape.
That ghostly shape was spat right out of Fortunate Spamton's maw, racing up towards Anarchy as he plummeted down from above. The bulbous orb of light was too wide to dodge around, and that left Anarchy with just one option. So, he hastily swung his arm, ripping through the air with Devilsknife and sending another wave of chaotic Darkness blasting down into the NEO fueled light bomb racing up at him.
And the moment those attacks collided, the world was engulfed in flashing color. A void of Darkness, pierced by a flare of light, engulfed by another void, pierced by another flare. The sky went black and the sky went white and the ground froze and burned. For moments that dragged on and on, Anarchy couldn't rely on any of his senses. His sight was blinded by the flashing light and seething Dark, his ears were deafened by the crashing booms, his skin felt only the whipping winds and the forces throwing his airborne body too and fro, his nose and tongue only smelt rotten glass and tasted atmosphere.
But, finally, the world returned around him. And the first thing he noticed was that he was hundreds of feet in the air and dropping fast. It seemed like that explosion had just shitwhipped him even higher into the air, and now he was dropping at a velocity twice as terminal as the last towards Fortunate Spamton. The mega mech had clearly survived the blast too, his spotlight eyes locking on to Anarchy in the sky. But the stage lights in his metal frame were shattered now, their busted bulbs steamed and sparked. The glass protecting his shining core was cracked now, pink and yellow beams were blasting out through the shield and slicing thin cuts in the darkening sky.
So, Anarchy leaned forward. He held his arms tight to his sides, and he dropped like a missile right towards Fortunate Spamton. Even as the Gundam's one remaining shoulder creaked open, and what few rockets Spamton had left blasted free in an attempt at blowing Anarchy out of the sky. Those missiles blasted right by him, whizzed by his head left and right. And Anarchy grinned from ear to ear as his eyes locked on to the one heading straight for him. He leaned his head forward, and he blasted forehead first right into the Spamton faced attack.
An explosion of light and flames engulfed The Anarchist... And he fired right through it. Undeterred, burn marks already healing on his giddy expression with soot stains in his ivory hair. The panel beneath Spamton's chest slid open again, and once more those train tracks exploded out of him. The rails fired up at Anarchy, who was quick to front flip, holding Devilsknife beneath him. He landed balanced on the handle of the scythe-ax, grinding down the rails as if the chaotic weapon was a skateboard and those tracks were a staircase guard rail.
"SEE YOU [[Later boy]], SKATER BOY!" As Fortunate Spamton shouted, the left side of his chest flipped open. From within, a twisted mechanical heart launched. Adorned with his pointed nose and pink-yellow shades, that cracked heart of gold was suspended on a chain and grinning wide as it flung out at Anarchy.
Anarchy knelt down, wrapping one hand around the handle of Devilsknife and hastily jumping with it in tow from one of the three tracks to the other. Just as he did, the pointed nose of that wretched heart punched through the rail where he'd been and made it shatter apart. While that broken metal and shattered wood plummeted to the ground the chained heart was yanked back, opening its wicked smile and letting a barrage of light pour out. The blasts took the shape of diamonds, and Anarchy stood up straight while he threw his left arm out to the side, sending his crowbar flinging back down his sleeve and into his hand.
*A heart firing diamonds? What fun, fun!
Chaotic sparks flinging up behind him as he descended down those rails and towards Fortunate Spamton's twisted heart, Anarchy crushed those light diamonds to shards and embers with the rapid swings of his crowbar. And when that chained heart sprung forward again, Anarchy leaned down again and once more hopped to the last remaining rail. That heart crashed through the track he'd been on once again with another brutal heartbutt, and Anthony stood tall again as another barrage of those diamonds fired out of its giggling maw.
Wind yanking back his long hair, Anarchy's body swung back and forth while his crowbar cracked apart diamond after diamond. And when that wretched mechanical heart sprung forward for the third time, he did not dodge. Instead, he stomped forward, sending Devilsknife swinging up behind him and launching forward. He reached back to snatch that chaotic weapon from the air while he launched right at Fortunate Spamton's unfortunate heart, yanking back both his arms and letting both his Inheritance and his Devilsknife shimmer with Darkness and Chaos. He shouted out as he cleaved, "Skate or die!"
CRACK!
Devilsknife slashed and Inheritance crashed, and immediately that twisted heart was cracking apart. It fired right back into Spamton's chest, leaving shards flinging through the air in its wake. While Fortunate Spamton recoiled from the jarring force of his heart being smashed right back into his chest, Anarchy continued to plummet down towards him. He leaned forward again, held his arms tight to his sides and kept a tight grip on crowbar and scythe-ax. Once more he was a missile rocketing towards Fortunate Spamton's core, and this time the mega mech had run out of ways to stop him.
Pink and yellow light reflecting in his eyes and shining over his body, Anarchy's jaw tightened. His gritting teeth flashed a vicious grin, and he pulled his arms forward. He crossed those arms over his chest, holding Devilsknife over one shoulder and his Inheritance over the other. And he plunged deep into the flaring light of that core, his eyes stared right through the cracked shell. The light singed his hairs, it burned the shadows off his body but his eyes remained locked on that glowing target. And just as he reached it, right before crashing into it head first, he pulled his arms off his shoulders and sent his two brutal weapons blasting out in an X. Cruel steel fired right through rotten glass, and Darkness pierced that light heart.
BOOM!
Once more, a brutal blast of light and Dark. Anarchy's eyes were forced to snap shut, power blasted against his body and sent him rocketing back through the air. The world went pitch black and bleach white, over and over as he flung back from the heart of the blast. Red misted off Anarchy's body, horrific burns sealed just as fast as they'd been blasted into him. And soon enough, he was flipping back through the air, slipping that crowbar back up his sleeve and landing in the mud crouched forward, on two feet and one hand.
"... Did that do it?" Anarchy pondered as he skidded to a stop, holding Devilsknife out to his side. He exhaled red fog through his teeth, and he carefully straightened his back and stood to his full height. The music faded out while Anthony squinted into the flickering black and white across the battlefield. More black steam was rising off Fortunate Spamton's now limp body, he couldn't see any spotlights staring through The Dark... But, even still, that massive body twitched with life.
The light of his sunglasses replaced by a flickering grey static, Fortunate Spamton's neck creaked while his head twitched. His chest had been blown totally open, pink and yellow fluid was overflowing down the cracked metal skeleton within. Wires whipped and sparked, embers blew slowly out of the massive hole that had once housed his core power cell. But on his back... Those four shining batteries were draining of their light. The destroyed mech's neck expanded, like there was some massive object creeping up his throat.
Even though his eyes showed only static, Fortunate Spamton's burnt and cracked metal head expanded. Wires snapped and that head was forced to lean back, but still his jaw unhinged. That massive mouth forced itself open with much metal creaking, and that object crept higher and higher up his neck. Finally, a blue sphere could be seen in the back of Fortunate Spamton's throat. It slid further and further, until the enormous Pipis was caught between his wide open jaws. Then... The lights in Spamton's eyes went out. The batteries on his back had gone completely dry. That mech ceased all movement...
POW!
With one final burst of power, Fortunate Spamton's shut down body fired that Fortunate Pipis into the sky. Anarchy watched with narrowed eyes as the orb careened through the air. But, its weight hastily carried it downward. It was heavier than the rest it seemed, and it didn't shatter itself apart in air. Instead, it crashed to the earth a few yards ahead of Anarchy, making the mud quake under its mass. And for a few long seconds, Anarchy just stood there, watching that egg. Had it been a dud? Was the fight truly over?
A crack split the pipis then, and another. Its shell gave way, crumbling down to shards and revealing a darkness within. Then, suddenly... Two lights, pink and yellow. A hand reached out from within the crumbling egg, grabbed the edge of the hole that had opened. It was covered by a white glove, but the hand was large, powerful. Then came another, identical hand grabbing the other edge of the egg's opening. Then, another. And another. And finally, as a familiar pointed nose stuck out of The Dark, a familiar laugh echoed out of the pipis. "EHAEHAEHAEHAEHAE..."
Gradually, a form was rising out of that breaking shell. The familiar glowing glasses came with the rest of Spamton's mime painted face, his four hulking arms shoved aside the edges of that egg and let it fall apart around him. He rose to his full height, an old AI in a new body. This one too loomed over Anarchy, a bulky frame that rose over eight feet in the air. Exhaust was rising from the engines on his back, and branded on his chest was the serpentine symbol of The Gatherer.
"DID YOU REALLY THINK THAT YOU COULD [[Clownstyle]] ME THAT EASY?" While Arcadia Spamton spoke, he took lumbering steps forward. His hulking body steamed from every joint, his clenched fists all spun for just a moment before locking back into the correct place. He laughed as his upper two arms lifted, flexing their mechanical muscles while his shadow dropped over The Anarchist. "I'M THE BIGGEST [[Sansation]] SINCE [[Sand underwhale]], BUDDY! I'M A [[BIG SHOT]] NOW AND NOBODY'S GONNA [[Blocked and reported]] ME!"
"Shoulda spat the egg in the other direction and ran for your life, big shit." The corner of Anarchy's mouth lifted, his lips parted some to reveal one of his fangs. Then, he tossed the Devilsknife that he'd been spinning up over his head, and Arcadia Spamton leaned his head back to watch it launch up over the two of them with some confusion. Anarchy lifted his arms and put up his fists, "Now I really gotta make you a basement boy."
Deadringer Remix by Kibo | Panpan started playing.
"Lets ride the carousel game!" Jevil's voice once more echoed from Devilsknife as it paused high over the two of them, continuing to spin there like some sort of disc. But as it spun, Darkness began to rain down from its steel. The world started to twist, to turn... To revolve. A blue and black plateau lifted from the ground beneath Anarchy and Arcadia Spamton, seething with Darkness as it started to spin. Looking around, the both of them could see that they were standing at the center of a massive, revolving plateau.
"THE WORLD WASN'T MEANT TO REVOLVE. WASN'T MEANT TO BE SO [[DARK]]." Arcadia Spamton explained while his glowing eyes landed back on The Anarchist, and he too put up his fists. His bottom two hands popped back into his arms, and in their places came chainsaw blades. They revved, those teeth immediately began spinning with deadly speed while their engines roared in Arcadia Spamton's arms. "[[HEAVEN]] IS FOR THE [[LIGHT]]!"
"Interesting stance to take," Anarchy didn't waste another moment. On that revolving plateau, he lunged forward, yanking back one fist. He jumped right over the slash of one of those chainsaws and he sent his fist rocketing towards Spamton's jaw while he snarled, "Considering you 'n me were born in The Dark!"
"EHAEHAEHAEHAE!" Arcadia Spamton's head swung to the side, letting that fist launch right over his shoulder. Those chainsaw arms slashed up at Anarchy then, but he planted both feet on Spamton's metal chest and spring boarded off of him, back flipping out of the range of those slashes and landing crouched across the revolving plateau. Spamton's upper hands grabbed ahold of the top of his head and his chin, straightening his head back out while he lowered his stance. "I MIGHT'VE BEEN MADE IN [[THE DARK]], BUT I WAS [[Birthed]] FOR THE LIGHT!"
Anarchy just narrowed his Killer red eyes, throwing his left arm out to the side. The wind pulled his hair to the side while his crowbar slipped back into his grasp, the world kept revolving. Then, in the next instant, he was darting forward. He sprinted across the carousel, he knew how to navigate its spiral. Arcadia Spamton didn't need to move though, he simply threw those four arms out to his sides. The panels of his chest and arms flipped around then, revealing a wall of speakers hidden beneath. Anarchy dived at him, yanking that crowbar back-!
RING RING RING!
A deafening sound exploded out of those speakers. The ear piercing jingle of a phone a few years before Anarchy's time accompanied an explosion of sonic energy, a wall of force that Anarchy slammed right into. His momentum was stopped dead against that sonic blast, before its force shoved him back through the air and right back across the carousel. Anarchy landed back on the flashing floor, skidding back on the balls of his feet while Spamton's speakers flipped back around and were hidden once more in his metal body.
Arcadia Spamton's uppermost arms pointed their fists out at The Anarchist then, his robotic eyes took aim on him even as the world spun the two of them round and round. Arcadia Spamton clenched his fists, and in the next instant they were blasting off his wrists. Rocket punches fired in tandem across the carousel, spouting fire out of their wrists as they raced towards The Anarchist.
Anarchy ducked low to the ground, holding his crowbar out to the side and darting forward once more. He shot by those fists, and they immediately exploded behind him. The blast hit his back, shoving him right at Arcadia Spamton, who was pulling his chainsaw hands out to his left and right respectively. Anarchy didn't bother trying to stop his momentum in spite of this, instead leaning forward and letting himself fling at Arcadia Spamton even faster.
Those chainsaws swung in at him in a pincer motion, and it made Anarchy grin. To his left his crowbar swung out with vicious force, and its cruel steel blasted right through the teeth of that chainsaw, splitting it in two and sending it flinging off across the carousel. To his right, Anarchy's powerful hand reached out and snatched a fearless hold of Arcadia Spamton's other chainsaw. The teeth shredded the flesh of his hand, split apart his fingers and sent a few of them flinging on bloody streaks through the air. Still, Anarchy's DETERMINATION held his hand together in a scarlet fog, and he stopped that chainsaw in his grasp.
Now Anarchy was the one cackling, and he yanked his head back before whipping it forward. His forehead cracked right into Spamton's face, and the mech censored his own cussing with a dial up tone as he was forced to stumble back from that headbutt. His nose was bent and a crack had split his glasses, and Anarchy landed crouched in front of him before darting forward once again. He slashed up at Arcadia Spamton with his crowbar, and the metal of his side screeched and dented inward when that crowbar's strike blasted against it.
Anarchy jumped as Arcadia Spamton leaned into his now dented side, spinning in air and sending a brutal kick flinging down at the robot's head in a barbaric attempt at decapitation. Unfortunately for him, Spamton's upper left arm had sprouted a new hand, and it caught him by the ankle. Arcadia Spamton shifted his footing, he spun right with the carousel and threw Anarchy out across from him. Anarchy flipped in air and landed once again on the balls of his feet.
All four of his arms ended in steel fists now, and the engines on Arcadia Spamton's back flared with light. Pink and yellow flames blasted out of his back, and in the blink of an eye he had launched forward, closing the distance between himself and The Anarchist and yanking back all four of his metal fists. Anarchy only had time to look up at him and smile before a brutal right hook blasted into the side of his head, followed by a jab to his left side. The third fist came in an uppercut that knocked Anarchy's head back and sent him stumbling on his heels, and the forth crashed right into his sternum.
Anarchy was sent tumbling back from that last punch. He landed on one knee, and immediately he threw his head back to reveal a bloodthirsty grin and a red streak streaming down from his busted lip. He launched forward from his kneeling position to blast knee first into Arcadia Spamton's chin in a red flare. Spamton's head was thrown back, and Anarchy yanked up his blood soaked and fully healed right hand, plunging it down and right through his chest plate. Sparks blasted out around his wrist while his fingers dug through wires, and he planted his feet on Arcadia's Spamton's upper body.
Anarchy kicked off of Arcadia Spamton, ripping his hand out of the robot's chest in a spray of sparks. He held a fistful of snapped wires as he landed back on the spinning floor, and Arcadia Spamton stumbled backwards while Anarchy tossed those wires out to the side and let the whipping winds take them. Spamton held one hand over the sparking hole in his chest while his upper arms pointed out at Anarchy, their fists switching out for the same cannons that had adorned the Spamton NEOs. "HEY! THIS IS EXPENSIVE HARDWARE, YOU KNOW!"
"Money is fake and capitalism is bullshit!" Anthony The Anarchist assured as he sprinted forward. Lasers blasted from those twin cannons, and he darted left and right to dodge the slashing beams of light. Rapidly closing the distance, Anarchy once more lunged into the air. With one swing of his crowbar he blasted the metal through the elbow of one of those cannon arms, sending it exploding apart in a pink/yellow flash.
"[[Based]]!" Arcadia Spamton spoke as he stumbled back from that flash, pointing his remaining cannon into the smoke and sparks that Anarchy had disappeared into. Red eyes appeared in that fog, and Arcadia Spamton immediately fired another laser right into the cloud. Anarchy exploded out from the top of that plume however, eyes locking right on to Arcadia Spamton as he plummeted down towards him.
Spamton took a step back as Anarchy landed right in front of him, reaching out with one of his lower arms and immediately catching the punch Anarchy swung up at him even though it made the iron in his arm creak. Holding onto that fist, Spamton spun once more and dragged The Anarchist off his feet. But this time, Anarchy spun with him, swinging his feet up and shotgunning them right into the space between Arcadia Spamton's two left arms, launching himself out of the hulking robot's grasp and sending him stumbling to the side.
Arcadia Spamton hastily spun and pointed his three remaining arms at Anarchy, and his hands disappeared into his wrists only for missiles to fire out of the holes left in their wake. Spamton managed to get his footing on the spinning floor while those missiles blasted across the carousel, and Anarchy raced after him relentlessly. He weaved left and right, ducked and dodged between those neon explosions while he raced towards Arcadia Spamton.
The light powered mech must've been in a hurry, because while his fists popped back out of his wrists the jets on his back fired, and he rocketed forward to meet Anthony halfway. The both of them yanked back a fist, and their knuckles collided with a carousel rocking shockwave. Sparks fired out of the joints in Arcadia Spamton's arm, but he didn't let up. Instead, his two lower fists launched up in twin uppercuts, only for Anarchy to throw his head back. Those punches sailed through nothing but air, and Anarchy leaned back and planted his palms on the floor, springing forward off of them and shotgunning a brutal dropkick right into Spamton's chest plate.
A red flare blasted out around his impact, and a dent blasted into that steel plate as Arcadia Spamton was sent launching backwards. Anarchy backflipped and landed on his feet while Spamton skidded across the carousel on his back. But, he managed to get ahold of himself, reaching back and planting his hands on the ground behind him. Arcadia Spamton flipped his massive body back up onto his hands and feet, and immediately his back opened up. From within, a two pronged cannon eerily similar to Gatherer's railgun defenses hastily lifted. "ENOUGH OF THIS! COULD YOU REALLY [[PLUNGE THIS WORLD INTO DARKNESS]]?"
CRACK!
Pink and yellow lightning flared across the carousel in the blink of the eye, and Anarchy's pupils shrunk. His grin widened, and his right arm flung through the air after that railgun blasted it right off his shoulder, spewing blood along the way. While his scorched shoulder steamed red, Anarchy used his left hand to point his crowbar's devastating curve at Arcadia Spamton. He answered with ease, "It's what I have to do!"
"ALL THAT POWER," That railgun ignited with pink and yellow, the cracked lenses of Spamton's glasses flared with light. Electricity crackled, NEO leaked out through the cracks and dents in Arcadia Spamton's steel body while bluelight flared around his body. His remaining fingers dug into the carousel floor, and he braced himself for a high power blast..! "AND YOUR HEART IS STILL ON A [[CHAIN]]!"
CRACK!
The music stopped. Red light flashed. An electric bolt blasted high into the sky. A pink and yellow blast of lightning, it punched a hole right through the Dark and the clouds that it covered. And for just a moment... The sun shined through. Light trickled down, it rained onto Arcadia Spamton. The shining light in his glasses had faded under heaven's light, and he stared with wide eyes into the golden glow while his wires hissed. He was kneeling now, his right side had been blasted apart completely. With speed and power that was totally incomprehensible to Arcadia Spamton, Anarchy had launched forward before his railgun had fired, and he'd ripped right through his steel body.
"... E... EHAE... HAE..." The light shining down cast a white glare over Spamton's glasses, and with the entire right side of his body had been blown to smithereens, he slowly turned his head. Hydraulic fluid spat with sparks and NEO juice out of that gaping wound, and even though both his right arms were obliterated and his bottom most left arm was laying totally limp, he still forced up his one good arm. Turning what remained of his body, he pointed a cannon at The Anarchist. "[[H... HEAVEN... Are you watching..?]]"
Anarchy stood with his back to Arcadia Spamton. He merely glanced over his shoulder as the shambling mech pointed a trembling arm at him. That cannon flickered, sparks flicked out of its barrel while it tried to charge. Without any haste, Anarchy turned around. He began walking towards Spamton, slipping that crowbar back up his one remaining sleeve while he buried his hands in his pockets. His right arm had already reformed, he didn't have a scratch on him. He never had a scratch on him, not for long.
"H-HAVE TO... HAVE TO... KILL YOU..." Spamton's voice skipped and pitch shifted a little while he spoke, but his blaster didn't charge any faster. Anarchy just kept walking towards him, the world just kept revolving. Spamton's smile was a grimace now, glowing pink and yellow fluid was overflowing from between his teeth. "IF I... IF I CAN'T KILL YOU, IF I'M NOT A [[BIG SHOT]]... [[Why was I made..?]]"
Anarchy reached out. He grabbed ahold of that sparking cannon, and he yanked it aside, spinning Spamton's kneeling form around in the process. The broken puppet stared up at him from behind those light glared shades, he watched as Anarchy's all powerful grip crushed that useless cannon, and pitiful pink fluid overflowed through the broken metal and down Anarchy's hand. It was a pathetic color, a weak and useless imitation of red. Anarchy lifted his other hand and opened his palm, heaven's light reflected in his scarlet eyes. His expression wasn't angry, it wasn't violent. In that instant, Spamton thought Anarchy looked... Strangely merciful. And as a mercy, he answered the puppet's question. "You were made to die."
CRASH!
The powerful hand of The Anarchist blasted right into Spamton's chest. His fingers dug deep, shredded wire and metal until they finally wrapped around that twisted, captive heart. And with a metal screech, Anthony yanked his hand back. Spamton's eyes went wide, the glare left those glasses as his heart was ripped off its chain and out of his chest. Anarchy released his crushed blaster, and he let Spamton's twisted body fall flat on what remained of its back.
When Spamton hit the ground, his glasses bounced off his face. They hit the spinning floor, and they slipped away from him. And he laid there, slicked back hair disheveled and entirely out of place. With eyes made in The Dark, he stared up into the light. A hole that he had punched, with all his might, to see heaven's shine. The Dark was fading from the sky now, those faces had stopped their giggling. They faded away, revealing the grey clouds they'd covered. Even without Anarchy's Darkness in the way, this world was still dim... Spamton spoke, and his voice didn't sound automated anymore. "... I don't understand you, Anthony."
Anarchy didn't respond. He just stood there on the carousel, under that spotlight with Spamton. His arms hung limp at his sides, blood and robo-fluid dripping off his fingers. He kept that heart in his hand while he stared down at Spamton, and he waited for him to elaborate.
"The light, the dark... You've got it all." Spamton's distant black eyes narrowed some, that hole he'd punched was gradually closing. The world was going dark again... Oh well. There was nothing he could do about it. He wasn't made to see the light, he was made to die. Even still... Sunlight poured down onto him from the opening he had created with his own might, and he went on. "But you're still chained... Still tangled in strings..."
"... Why?" Gradually, Spamton's eyes lowered from the sky above. He looked to Anthony, who was still staring down at him with that blank expression... The lights were going out, and he struggled to ask. "Why don't you use your power..? Don't you, wanna be a..."
"... No. I don't." Anthony's eyes narrowed down at Spamton while he answered. His thoughts drifted back to Frisk, to their big sales pitch back in DoubleScramble. To let himself go, to give up on his morals and go wherever his impulses guided him... It would mean devastation far behind what he'd already done, Darkness far beyond the scope of his own understanding. Anthony thought further back, all the way to the swing set. To the simple wish he'd had...
"... Ha. Haha..." Spamton cracked a smile, pink and yellow fluid overflowed from his left and right eye respectively. Darkness dripped off the heart in Anthony's hand. The twisted face, his metal heart... It was all melting away in his grip. All to reveal something more pure beneath. "... If you ever do find the strength to cut your strings, I think I'd like to see it. Please, take me along with you..."
Spamton didn't speak again after that. His eyes settled back on the sky, the carousel dissipated around them and the world stopped revolving. Anarchy lifted his head, he watched that hole in the clouds seal... And when he looked back down, Spamton's eyes had went out. His body did not move again. Back in the mud, Anarchy was left alone with nothing but a pair of sunglasses in his hand, right where that heart used to be.
Silently, Anarchy lifted his hand and squinted his eyes at Dealmaker. The pink and yellow shades were hardly his style. In fact, to him they almost looked like something Frisk would wear. With that in mind he flipped those shades around and put them on regardless, before turning and looking over towards the broken wall in the distance. While he reached out and caught Devilsknife dropping down towards him, he squinted curiously. Things looked... Brighter, with those glasses on.
Clover winced under the shadow of his hat, pain rumbled through his forearms when he caught Eden's punch on his crossed forearms. Across the platform, his revolvers had been knocked prone. Laying in different directions, they'd been knocked out of his grasp at one point or another in this battle, leaving Clover in a fist fight.
"Why're we still doin' this?!" He hollered in a rage, shifting his arms to brush Eden's fist off to the side while he stepped forward, launching his elbow at her face. She ducked under this strike, popping up with her own guard up just in time to catch Clover's left hook against her own forearms. "Yer robot can't win, yer army can't win, just give-!"
"SHUT UP!" Eden suddenly exploded, making Clover's single eye go wide. She shoved his fist off with one arm, and with speed he wasn't ready for her free arm darted forward and blasted a brutal jab right into the cowboy's nose. He recoiled and stumbled back, but Eden stomped right after him, yanking back her other fist and sending a brutal hook across Clover's chin.
"My friends didn't quit! My brother didn't quit! My people didn't quit!" Eden snarled, stomping right after Clover while he stumbled back. With a hand that crackled orange, she grabbed a fistful of his collar and yanked him in while she threw her free fist forward. His head bounced back after her punch cracked into it, but she still kept her hold on him, yanking back another punch while she screamed. "I'M NOT GONNA FUCKING QUIT!"
Another brain rattling punch. Clover stumbled back, blinked his eye and tried to shake the tremors out of his brain. With one hand on his head, he felt his heel strike the ledge behind him. The two of them had fought all the way down the ramp and now Clover's back was against the edge. He looked from the drop and back to Eden, and he could see orange burning in her eyes and his own blood on her knuckles.
"My family, my friends, almost everyone I care about has died for this place!" Eden proclaimed, using the back of her fist to wipe away some blood that was still in the corner of her mouth from one of Clover's earlier strikes. She beat her other hand against her chest, against her the purple heart that glowed there. Exhaustion burned in her bones and adrenaline pumped in her veins as she marched down the ramp after Clover, "They didn't get to give up, so neither do I!"
"Even though Xander lied! Even if I have to fight through every pirate and every DoubleKid myself!" Eden's fist crackled with orange electricity, and Clover narrowed his accurate eye. Carefully, he put up his fists again. Widened his stance, waited for her to move. A frown dug deeper into his expression...
"I'll keep this empire standing, even if it costs me my life-!" As Eden darted forward, she yanked back that crackling orange fist. She sent it blasting at Clover's head... And he ducked. He ducked, he put his forearm under her wrist and brushed her punch upwards, before reaching out with his other hand and grabbing Eden by the knee, shoving her leg out from under her. And her eyes widened as she tumbled forward and onto Clover's back, only for him to stand up quickly, throwing her right off him and right over the edge.
Eden flipped over Clover's body, and she dropped like a stone right over the ledge. Everything seemed to move in slow motion for her then, her eyes darted to Clover as her hands flailed to grab anything they could. But Clover didn't look at her, he kept his back turned and his head down. His eye remained shadowed... Eden couldn't catch anything. She plummeted right down towards the stone path below, and she stared hopelessly up at the sky while she dropped. Was... Was that it? Was, she really about to...
CRACK!
When Eden hit the ground, she bounced. Orange electricity flickered over her body as the air was knocked right out of her lungs. Bones creaked, organs vibrated... But nothing gave. Even though agony was sending tremors through her body, and she was laying flat on her back unable to breathe... She had survived. Her eyes flickered orange and purple as she stared up at the overcast sky, and she finally managed to suck in a wheezing breath. Her trembling fingers curled inward. G-... Get up... Keep, fighting...
Slowly, Eden forced her throbbing body to move. First, she got one elbow under herself. Then, another. Then, with a silent groan... She flipped herself over onto her hands and knees. Overhead, Clover watched bewildered. That far of a fall flat onto her back definitely should have killed her, or at least paralyzed her. His eyes glossed down to the revolvers that he'd retrieved while Eden struggled to sit up on her knees. If that fall wouldn't keep her down...
Slowly, Eden lifted her head. gasping for air and letting the blood trickle down her chin, she stared into the one golden eye peering down at her. Up, past the barrel that separated the two of them. Clover was aiming down at her again, and she didn't have the energy to dodge this time. What was that thing Clover told her? Killers kill killers until everybody's dead... Her shaky hands clenched into fists against the torn knees of her pants. It looked like everybody was gonna die after all.
Creeeeeaaakkk..! CRASH!
But, before Clover's bullet could fire, a new sound blasted free. The massive steel gate ahead of Eden had suddenly blasted open in a matter of seconds, and it was all she could do to lower her head and throw up her arms in a feeble guard. Lucky for her, those doors flung by at her left and right, smashing into the buildings far behind her with enough force to send them crashing to the earth.
"Huh..?" Slowly, Eden lifted her head and lowered her arms. And when she spotted what was sauntering through the easily blasted open gate, her eyes went wide. her blood went cold. Hands in his pockets and war drenching his body, Anthony The Anarchist walked right into her empire like it was his own living room. And behind the tinted lenses of the Dealmaker glasses on his face, Eden could see a murderous red shine.
In that instant, Eden found herself kneeling in the courtyard again. Her brother slain before her, The Cherub looming over her. It seemed in that instant that the whole world had gone Dark. She was paralyzed, staring with exhausted and terrified eyes at the creature who had decimated her arms just a few weeks ago. Who had ripped and teared through her closest friends, who had beaten her teacher to a bloody pulp...
Grinding her teeth, Eden forced her leg to move. She shifted her knee, got one foot under herself and pushed with all her might against gravity's pull. With the weight of The Dark baring down on her, it seemed the only light left in the world was the dim violet heart on her chest. Even still, she forced her exhausted body to its feet, all while The Anarchist wandered closer. She was in his way, the dead center of the path. And Anarchy didn't walk around roadblocks, he blasted through them.
"I-I'm, not..." Daring to look at him from under her eyebrows, Eden forced her weak grip hands to clench into fists. She lifted those fists even though she was teetering from side to side, even though she was alone in The Dark. And when Anarchy paused not more than six feet in front of her, and he looked down his nose at her, she forced a snarl out of her aching throat. "I'm not..! Afraid of you..!"
"... Either throw a punch or get out of my way, sunshine." Anarchy stated without much enthusiasm, reaching up and taking hold of Dealmaker while he spoke. He pulled the sunglasses off his face, folded them up and let them disappear into his inventory. Then, his hands went back into his pockets. He didn't bother putting his fists up, didn't bother pulling out his crowbar. He left himself wide open while he explained. "Even though ya screwed me over before, you aren't the one I'm here to kill."
Eden's heart beat faster, her expression started to tense. Her teeth grit, her lips peeled back to reveal her snarl. Her pupils shrunk in her wide eyes, and she clenched her fists as best she could. With all her might, she pulled back one fist. Her memories flashed as she stomped forward, reminded her of Mew Mew. Felldyne, even Flowey. She hadn't been strong enough to save them then, so she had to be strong enough now. All of her power channeled into that punch, and with one mighty roar she sent her knuckles blasting forward!
WHAM!
Eden's eyes went wide. Her jaw snapped open, blood spewed out past her lips. Her body had folded forward, around the devastating punch Anarchy had buried right in her abdomen. The Darkness closed in, it suffocated her as she stood on her tippy toes with that fist still pressed into her now aching solar plexus... Before her knees gave out, and she tumbled to the ground. Flat on her face she landed, eyes clenched shut tight to hide the tears that were forming. She hadn't been punched that hard since Angel broke her ribs.
"..." Anarchy stared down at her for a second or two after putting his hand back in his pocket. In a different time, he would have punched all the way through her. He would have stepped on her head now that she laid there motionless. But, that time had passed. So, Anthony lifted his foot and tried to step over her... Only for her to grab him by the ankle.
"S... Stop..." Eden's voice creaked out of her throat, she didn't lift her head. Her weak fingers tangled in the ankle of Anarchy's jeans, her eyes remained clenched shut and every breath made her wince. Still, she whispered in a rasp. "I-I'm... Not... Done, yet..."
Again, Anarchy didn't bother speaking. Instead, without any particular haste, he removed his left hand from his pocket. He leaned down, took careful hold of Eden's wrist, and began pulling her up. Her legs remained limp, all of her body dangled as her grip easily released and she was lifted up into the air. She dangled there, in Anarchy's grasp, unable to even open her eyes... Anarchy pulled back his right fist, and the moment his left hand let go of her wrist his right blasted a punch right into her jaw.
Eden barely made a sound as she fired back through the air. She launched like a ragdoll for yards and yards, before finally gravity pulled her back to the stone path. She hit the ground and tumbled another few yards, before finally skidding to a stop. There she continued to lay on her side, head down and eyes winced shut. Her body twitched, tried and failed to move... She couldn't see, she couldn't feel anything but pain. All she knew in that moment of her surroundings was the sound of her own rasping gasps and Anarchy's footsteps getting closer.
"Anarchy! That's enough!" Clover barked from the foot of the wall he'd just descended with a rope from his inventory. Leaving the rope dangling there, he stomped after The Anarchist, who was continuing to saunter down the path towards Eden. "She's had enough!"
"Stay out of my way, cowboy." Anarchy waved a dismissive hand absentmindedly back at Clover, his eyes remaining locked on Eden. His other hand remained in his pocket, and he continued to wander over towards her. "If she says she's not done, then she's not done."
I... I-I'm not... Afraid... Slowly, Eden's eyes started to peak open. The world was pitch black, all she could see was those glowing red eyes and that figure wandering towards her. Her fingers twitched, but she couldn't make a fist. Her head struggled up some, but she couldn't sit up. That shadowed figure sprouted four wings as it got closer, those red eyes made her tremble... I'm not... Afraid..!
And as she lifted her head, the bandanna around her forehead slowly untied. It slipped off her forehead, dropped down through her line of vision and landed on the blood stained floor she laid on. Slowly, her dim eyes drifted down to that Manly Bandanna. They narrowed painfully at how worn and ragged the fabric had become, the split open seams and the scratchy texture... But, then her focus shifted to the faded marker drawing on its front. Barely noticeable these days, drawn on the front of that bandanna, was a six pack of abs. In that moment Eden remembered sitting down with a marker and a brand new orange bandanna. She remembered drawing those abs onto the fabric over a decade ago, she remembered presenting it with a smile to her big brother. She could see the joy filled smile it had put on his face... And she stopped shaking.
... No. I am afraid. Eden's eyes lifted to The Anarchist marching closer, and The Darkness started to recede. The black mist peeled away from The Ivory Ghoul, the winged illusion disappeared as her fingers took a powerful hold of Cliff's Manly Bandanna. Light returned to the world, and strength returned to Eden's body as she got her elbow under herself. She turned her head, spitting a mouthful of blood aside while keeping her eyes locked on Anthony The Anarchist. In that instant, with nothing but an old bandanna and her two bare hands, she made a decision.
But I'm gonna fight him anyway.
Bravery - Instrumental Mix by Vetrom started playing.
Suddenly, Anarchy was throwing up one arm to guard from a flash of light. A blast of orange color ignited on that dreary path, making Anarchy's dark accustomed eyes wince. Several yards behind him, Clover watched with one wide eye, having to grab hold of his hat to keep the sudden updraft of electric wind from knocking it off his head. And the both of them watched as Eden, crackling with BRAVE energy, slowly climbed back to her feet. Without a tremble, without a moment's hesitation she rose from the dirt. She clenched that Manly Bandanna tight in her fist, she planted her feet, and as an electric orange aura crackled around her, a BRAVE soul exploded to life on her chest.
"If I haven't made it clear by now then let me say it again!" Eden snarled without an ounce of pain in her voice, her elbows bent and her fists clenched tight. Her BRAVE orange eyes were locked onto The Anarchist, her hair was lifting in the powerful winds of her own soul. And she took hold of her left hand, wrapping that Bandanna around her knuckles. Then, she pointed that fist out towards Anarchy, and from orange and purple light behind her four more massive, bandanna wrapped hands appeared, crafted by the light of her soul. "I'm not giving up! Not now and not ever!"
"THEN COME ONNNN!" Anarchy roared, a giddy grin had split his face. Seeing her orange soul flare had made his own red one ignite, and he'd finally pulled his hands from his pockets. Now, he hunched forward, holding his open hands out to his sides and daring her to come fight him. The air crackled with the power of their ideals, and Anarchy planted his feet and demanded she strike first.
Eden didn't waste another moment. With a blast of new found strength, she was darting across the stone path and sprinting right at Anthony. She lunged through the air and yanked back that bandanna wrapped fist, and when she sent it rocketing down into the X crossed arms Anarchy lifted to block it, the impact of her strike sent an orange and red shockwave blasting out around the two of them.
Cracks split the stone floor, shockwaves rumbled through Anarchy's arms and it made him grin even wider. He threw his arms out, shoving Eden back through the air and sending her dropping back to the ground in front of him. The two of them launched at one another then, each yanking back a brutal punch and sending it blasting forward. Their knuckles slammed against each other, and though Eden winced, her arm did not give. Once again, power blasted out around the two of them, before they each pulled their fists back away and threw forward the other ones instead.
Again their knuckles collided, and the ground shattered apart beneath them, sending stone chunks flying up around them. This time when Eden and Anarchy pulled back their fists, Eden jumped back instead, and from behind her those four energy fists blasted in. Anarchy barely had the time to recoil before all four sets of knuckles blasted into him, sending him launching back through the air.
Eden bolted forward as Anarchy backflipped and landed skidding back on his feet. She ran low to the ground before jumping into the air over him and spinning, sending a brutal kick blasting down towards him. That kick smashed into the forearm Anarchy hastily lifted, the force of its impact blew his hair back and revealed even more of his giddy expression. Anarchy's free hand launched out, snatching ahold of Eden's ankle before he spun, shitwhipping her through the air and back towards the curve of the wall behind him.
Eden flipped in air, landing on the balls of her feet and skidding to a stop, before bursting right forward to meet The Anarchist sprinting towards her half way. She lunged forward as he yanked back his fist, blasting a knee strike so brutal into his chin that it sent a blast of orange energy firing out the top of his head. While Anarchy stumbled back Eden landed in front of him, ignoring the sweat on her brow and yanking back both fists. Orange electricity crackled off her body, and she sent a barrage of blows firing into the body of The Anarchist.
Anarchy's unbreakable body jolted back and forth with every lightning fast punch, before Eden paused to yank back one more fist. It crackled with brilliant power, but Anarchy was too quick, his own fist launching out the moment she was open and blasting into her jaw. A red flash blasted out around this impact, and Eden was sent blasting at breakneck speed right into that massive wall. She exploded into it, sending a mist of stone dust blasting out around her.
Things were hardly quiet for a single moment before orange eyes gleamed in that dust cloud, and Eden fired right back out of it. In the blink of an eye she closed the distance, but still Anarchy threw up his arms in an X and blocked a knee strike strong enough to send tremors through his bones. Eden planted her free foot in his shoulder and spring boarded back off of him, back flipping and landing on her feet a few yards away.
Anarchy darted right after her, sending a brutal right hook blasting at the side of her head, only for Eden to drop down to the ground. The moment she ducked that punch she swung her leg out, attempting to sweep Anarchy's feet out from under him only for him to jump over her leg. The moment he jumped she shoved herself to the side, diving out of the way just before he crashed back down, sending a shockwave of dirt and stone firing up around his impact and blasting a crater into the earth with his bare hands.
Eden skidded back on the balls of her feet, and Anarchy blasted right out of that smoke after her. He yanked back one fist, and with brutal force he cracked her right upside the head, throwing her head to the side and making her knees bend... But not give. In the next instant, blood staining her teeth, Eden whipped her head right back up and screamed her fury right into Anarchy's face. This display of emotion made his eyes widen right with his smile, and the two of them immediately pulled their hands back just to throw more punches forward.
Their right and left fists smashed into each other at once, and another boom of power sent the both of them skidding back on their heels. Eden could taste her own blood, she could smell it. But still, she put her fists right back up and she stared through the blur in her vision at him. She wouldn't stop, she would punch right through him!
Once more, a barrage of those energy fists manifested behind Eden and launched towards Anarchy, who cackled and held his arms out wide. Viciously those magic hands clobbered him, smashing into him with enough force to throw him back through the air. Eden didn't hesitate to bend at the knees, diving high into the sky with a crackle of BRAVE power and dropping right down towards the airborne Anarchist with another Valkyrian battle cry. She pulled back her fist, and she sent it blasting down into Anarchy's jaw with so much force that the shockwave of red orange color blew apart the earth beneath them.
Anarchy was fired right through the dirt, and Eden dropped down from the sky. She stuck the landing, didn't bother noticing how she stumbled and kept her fists up as she watched the stream of dust Anarchy's impact had launched into the sky. Anarchy didn't give her a moment to rest, in the next instant he was sprinting up out of that crater at full speed right at her. He held his arm out to the side, blasted right into her with a massive clothesline before turning his feet and stopping dead, sending Eden rocketing backwards through the air.
She flung like a ragdoll, flipping and spinning before crashing into the ground and tumbling across it. Finally, she caught herself on her hands and knees, ignoring the blood trickling down from her hairline over her orange eye and glaring right up at The Anarchist ahead of her. She dug her fingers into the dirt, tore through it just to shove herself up off the ground and send herself back at Anarchy in another dead sprint. Again she jumped, launching herself at him and yanking back a fist before rocketing it right into Anarchy's jaw, sending him leaning back as blood flew out of his mouth.
She dropped right back down to the ground beside him, once more swinging her leg at his feet and this time successfully sweeping his legs out from beneath him. Anarchy's eyes went wide as he tumbled back, and Eden jumped right into the air over him, pulling both knees up to her chest before shotgunning a brutal stomp right into Anarchy's diaphragm. The force of this impact caused orange energy to crack down like lightning, just before The Anarchist was sent firing right back into the earth.
Eden landed on wobbly legs, and she was quick to jump back from the hole Anarchy's body had created. It was a good thing she did, because in the next instant that ground exploded apart in a blast of DETERMINED power, and from within Anarchy rose. he jumped right back onto solid ground as chunks of dirt and stone rained down around him, and his powerful red eyes landed right on Eden The BRAVE. She got her hands up, she forced her aching fingers to clench into fists, and she stood her ground.
Anarchy darted forward on a scarlet streak, and two more of those massive fists appeared over Eden's shoulders, swinging down at Anarchy the moment he was in range. But he reached out, and with his powerful hands he stopped those fists in their tracks. And as he yanked up his leg, pulled his knee to his chest, and prepared to blast a brutal kick right into the arms Eden was throwing up to guard herself, she saw a quick flash. Horror Flowey being ripped in two right before her, just before the very same kick Anarchy was preparing now decimated the both of her arms. And her eyes widened, they ignited with orange power as that kick blasted towards her.
Suddenly, Anarchy's kick stopped dead. Between him and Eden, BRAVE power had taken the shape of a shield. One that did not give, did not break in the wake of Anarchy's all powerful strike. And for just a split second Anarchy stared down at that shield, wide eyed and in awe of its resilience. This was just before Eden's arms suddenly reached through it as though it was nothing more than a projection of light, and she wrapped both arms around Anarchy's leg.
Roaring with what power she had left, Eden straightened her back and popped her hips, throwing that leg she'd grabbed straight up and flipping Anarchy! While the bewildered Anarchist spun ass over teakettle, Eden planted her feet. She yanked back that bandanna wrapped fist, and the BRAVE soul on her chest flared with power. Electric light crackled over her arm, all the strength she had poured into her vibrating knuckles. And when Anarchy landed, dizzy and on his knees right in front of her, he barely had time to look up before she sent that punch crashing down.
And as that lightning fist blasted down from above, for only a moment... Anarchy though he could see something in that flashing orange light. A larger shape, standing behind Eden. Throwing its hulking fist right along with her, a bandanna wrapped clear around his head..!
CRACK!
Anarchy's eyes snapped open wide, blood spewed out past his lips. BRAVE light exploded out around the two of them, and that fist drove right through his chest, blasting out of his back and right through the anarchy symbol on the back of his leather jacket. Blood spewed out past his lips and from his nose, and he stared with shock up into Eden's intense expression. For just a moment, the world had paused. Eden had gathered up all of her strength, all of her PERSERVERANCE and all of her BRAVERY and she had used it to punch a hole right through the most dangerous man alive.
And then... The orange light flickered away. The music faded out. Her intense expression hastily relaxed, and... Her legs gave out. Eden The BRAVE, with every drop of her strength used up, collapsed to the side. Her arm was pulled out of Anarchy's chest by her fall, and by the time she hit the dirt, her eyes had closed. But, even though her consciousness had slipped out of her grasp, her grip remained around the now bloodstained bandanna wrapped around her fist.
"... Fuck..!" Anarchy spoke up after a pause, wincing and putting a hand over the hole that had been blasted in his chest. Scarlet smoke was billowing out of the wound, his flesh was rapidly resealing. His heart was being put back together. Still, Anthony had to take a moment to spit up red and take a few deep breathes while he knelt there. Carefully, he watched Eden from his eye's corner. She wasn't moving, but no soul floated out of her and shattered, so he figured her body must not have completely given out. Reaching out with two fingers and putting them on her neck to check her pulse confirmed this, and he cleared his throat before sighing. "... You've got guts, Eden. I'm glad I didn't have to rip 'em outta ya."
"She... Passed out?" Clover asked as he took skeptical steps closer, glancing around Anarchy to get a closer look at Eden. Her chest rose and fell, she was in fact asleep. His accurate eye drifted over to Anarchy, who was grunting as he shoved himself back up to his feet, wiping blood off his face. Clover stopped once he stood there beside him, squinting curiously. "Ain't never seen nothin' like that... You got any idea what that was?"
"No idea." Anarchy answered while he shook his now blood soaked hand, sending droplets of his own red color flicking out in every direction. The hole in his chest had already sealed, it was as if he'd never been in any fight at all... His eyes narrowed down at Eden, and he frowned. To know she was outmatched, to know she wasn't strong enough, to know she was afraid and to fight until she absolutely couldn't anymore regardless... Anarchy's scarlet eyes glossed over towards Clover, and he exhaled red smog before he spoke. "It's a good thing you wore her out, cowboy. If she'd been at full strength when she got that power up... Well, we woulda been here longer."
"..." Clover didn't say anything. He just stared down at Eden, spent another few moments considering everything she had said. Almost everyone she had cared about had died for this, she had fought so hard in their name... He sighed, reaching up and pulling the hat off the top of his head. He shook that head while he ran a hand through his hair. He wouldn't admit it out loud, but he was relieved. Anarchy hadn't killed her, everybody wasn't dead. But the mission was far from over, and Anarchy knew that.
"I'm gonna go on ahead. I don't think what's left of the army's comin' back." Anarchy put his hands back in his pockets again, turning his eyes back towards Clover. The cowboy looked back to him, nodding and putting that hat back on his head.
"Me n' the rest'a my crew'll be here if they do." Clover assured, and Anarchy nodded to him. Without another word, Anthony settled his gaze forward. He walked carefully around Eden while he stared down the long street. The empty buildings, the tower in the distance... He could feel the ground rumbling, it was far but he could feel it. The fighting wasn't over, which meant Xander still had Chara's soul. With that in mind, Anthony's jaw clenched, and he started to pick up the pace.
In his wake, Anthony left a devastated battlefield. A destroyed mech, a crushed fighter bot. A shattered wall, a blasted open gate, and a defeated hero. But ahead of him that tower was still standing, his friends were still fighting. And if he was going to make it up to Angel and keep his promise to Chara, he'd have to keep fighting too.
Whatever it takes.
