Ok, good thing to know I got Thrall right. Here's hoping that can continue with the other characters I bring in. Anyway, enjoy.

Kal couldn't help but keep a small smile on his face as he stood on the grass field. This is the spot that Tyrande told him to go to place his home. 'Home' he thought to himself, that's something he hasn't thought about since coming here but now he would have a place on this strange world to call his own. A place that he could take solace in and of course a place he could defend. He wasn't being selfish, Kal knew that Tyrande must have pulled some real political strings in order to allow him to stay here. If this was back on Earth, it would be like if the queen of England said he could place his very advanced and very powerful alien home just next to Big Ben. He wasn't going to lose the trust that she was giving him so he would keep his word.

As of the moment, he was alone. A large gathering of Night Elves, including both leaders had all escorted him to where he would place the seed for his home but Tyrande had told him to wait fifteen minutes before placing it as that would allow for her, Staghelm and the large entourage that accompanied them. He could assume that was because he had told them when the fortress would stop building, the main entrance should be just in front of the small pool that had been created using water from something called 'The Well of Eternity' he still didn't know what that was and would need to ask about it later. Who knows, maybe he could get a sample of it and have a real close look.

He gave his head a small shake, that could wait for now and time was almost up. He made a mental note that he would need to start up the defences of the fortress real quick and then get started on the anti-magic shielding, which is a lot harder than it sounds as it would mean that he needs to do some research into the magic of this world and find out how it works, something that will no doubt prove to be problematic. His mind was already going through all the idea's and plans as to what could come first when it came to that.

It would have to be one of the first things he does, just after he makes sure everything is up and running, try and repair any of the damage that occurred during the war. He would admit that the menagerie was something he was concerned about, he had a lot of different animals from many different worlds in there and he wouldn't want them harmed and they may need some more aid. Thankfully he didn't need to worry about them getting any worse or starving, as the fortress was placed away. It wasn't just moved, the entire thing and everything inside of it was frozen in time. At least they should have been, he didn't want to place all of his faith in that though as that only made it harder to believe something could go wrong and that would mean he would be less able to fix it.

In the back of his mind, his mental clock told him that time had passed. Though he looked calm, it was a small shaking hand that reached for the small of his back and went into the small pocket that waited for him, upon contact with his finger, the pocket opened and he reached in pulling the crystal out. He held it calmly in his hand before kneeling down. The crystal would have matched the description of large diamond and Kal placed its sharpest point in the ground and then removed his hand. Despite the shape it was able to remain upright and not fall to one side, when he pulled his hand back he placed it gently on the smooth top of the crystal and waited for three seconds, then he pushed it down into the ground. Not by much, only enough to make the top of the crystal level with the soil.

The smile on his face intensified when it started to burrow deeper into the ground on its own occurred and soon the ground itself started to shake. At first it was small and would only be noticeable to him and a handful of animals, but after a few seconds it started to get more intense and the mountains around him started to rumble. Knowing that Tryande and the others may start panicking a little if he didn't do something, Kal floated into the air and flew towards where the Night Elves where waiting for him.

Tryande would always want what was best for her people, that is one thing about her that has never changed, not once. It has what's always pushed her to be the best she can be, it's what gives her the strength to fight against the horrors of the Legion, it's what led to stare down Azshara and not even blink at her majesty and it's what led her to doing what she's done now.

Because if her desire to do what is best for her people is one of her most powerful character traits, then right alongside it would be her faith in their goddess, Elune, the Mother Moon. In all her ten thousand years of life, Elune had not abandoned her or led her astray, it was the reason as to why she placed so much trust in this Kal-El. It was why she was his most avid supporter, it was why she gave him such chances to earn the trust of the rest of her people and the war in Silithus was the best way to do that. A little sneaky on her side but she was left with little choice.

Staghelm was of course Kal's biggest antagonist when it came to her people's government and so before she could make any decisions regarding him, she would need to sway him in one way or another and so Silithus became the best place. It was a well-known fact that Staghelms sun was killed thousands of years ago before the great barrier around the insect fortress was put up, the death of his son still haunts him to this day even thousands of years later. That was why it was difficult for him to still act out against Kal-El, he did the one thing that no-one else has and avenged the death of his child.

Which is one of the reasons why he wasn't outright arguing right now. Tyrande stood on the small balcony that was built into the small temple that watched over the waters of the Well. Beside her was Staghelm and many of the higher members of the Cenarion Circle, both Night Elves and Tauren. It was a group that was dedicated to the teachings of druidism and the protection of nature. Something that Tyrande was a large supporter for as the group's goal is something she can support, not to mention that it was created by her husband Malfurion.

From what Tyrande was able to gather, there were many members of the circle that held renovations about her decision to allow Kal to do this, she could understand that. But she did find herself surprised that there were others in the circle who supported the decision. Based on what she was told, it was due to them not being happy that the mountain always required a guard to protect which left them too drained and under manned to move to other areas that need them.

Behind Tyrande was Shandris, as well as a gathering of Sentinels and fellow priests of Elune. Thankfully they were all much more tolerant of her wishes to have Kal-El move here and only asked a few base questions regarding the reasoning and once she told them, they didn't necessarily agree but they held a great deal of trust in her.

The slight vibrating she felt in her feet got her attention first. Based on the way the druids started to shuffle on the spot and start muttering to each other, they felt it before she did and started to look nervous. Not that she could blame them, the ground didn't settle, it got worse. The ground started to quake violently and the water of the Well started to thrash as if it where the open ocean. It got so bad that it started to become a challenge to remain on her feet without falling over, it wasn't only her either. The entire entourage was stumbling around trying to something to grab onto.

In the end she settled for falling forwards and grabbing onto the stone railing that made the balcony "It's ok!" a voice shouted and she looked up to see Kal hovering in the air just above the water of the Well "this is normal!"

She was about to retort but as she steadied herself she looked and her eyes started to widen. Just above the natural mountain walls that made the up the creator of the mountains peak, a large dark crystal started to slowly move into the air. And then another and another. They all looked like they were connected to each other, and they continued to grow larger and larger until it looked like the lead spike was poking the rising sun. She wouldn't lie, was the farthest wall of the creator started to crumble and be pushed away by more of those crystals, she started to wonder whether or not she made a mistake with this idea. The entire structure just kept growing and it looked like it was about to envelop the whole mountain.

A large arch way formed itself just in front of the Well and looked like it was about to cover that was well. But then it stopped. The shaking ceased and the ground steadied, Tyrande and she suspected many others took a moment to steady themselves before getting back to their feet for those that fell over.

When she looked back out across the to the Well, she found herself at a loss for words. It was still their thankfully but for a moment, she thought they would lose it or it would be taken from them and used by this... this... she did not have the word to describe what she was looking at.

This... structure was large, far larger than she thought it would be and it seemed to be made of multiple large spikes, stuck together in every different direction and the entire thing gave off a... almost magical aura but she knew that was not true. Based on what Kal has send in the past, he wants nothing to do with magic so whatever this was giving off must be something else. There was one thing that she couldn't deny however.

It felt dead, it felt lifeless.

Before she could check on the others behind her. Kal himself moved over towards them all "are you alright?" he asked them all as his feet touched the ground in front of them "I'm sorry if you were caught off guard, the fortress can be a bit intimidating to those who haven't seen it before" he looked over to all the others and then gave them a smile "shall I give you the tour?" he asked.

Kal couldn't help but smile as he led the group out of the temple and around towards the Fortress's main gate. As they walked onto the grass and around the surface of the large pool within the base of the hollowed-out mountain top. Many of those behind him looked up to see that the ceiling of the main gate had already covered them, that was something he was happy about. The main gate had two walls on either side of it and a ceiling that went out further then the gate itself, almost providing a ceiling for the Well and when one looked closer they could see that the very edges of it had pincered what was left of what must have been a really large tree.

Kal really did hope that those druids wouldn't hate him too much for that but there was nothing he could do about it now. When he was exactly twenty steps away from the entrance, something that could be described as a cave entrance as there was no physical door, at least not yet. A bright light shined down onto him. The large gathering behind him stopped as well and he could tell that some even took a defensive stance but none acted out just yet "RE SY TO!" a very loud synthetic voice sound from above them.

Well it sounded that way for him, for the others he imagined it was quite disheartening due to it being in the Kryptonian language "Nobody move!" he said loudly to the others behind him who were slightly nervous before became much more so when they heard the voice.

"Kal-El" the sound of Staghelms voice came through as the leader of the druids ignored his warning and moved forward towards him "What is..." he was interrupted from his sentence when two large holes in the ceiling opened up.

Kal let out a tired sigh as two large golden coloured drones landed on either side of the group. Their heavy metal legs thudding the ground as they did so, standing up to full height. They completely towered over everyone, and he was sure their red optics didn't make matters any better. The two mechs moved in synch with each other and took a guarded stance with one leg behind the other, ready to jump into action. In one of their hands were a large double-bladed sword made from steel that he was able to convince Diana to give him from her home of Themyscira. In their other hand was a large Pavise shield that was strong enough to take a beating from Doomsday, something only he could claim to do. On their shoulders, one could see two different barrels that one could tell were a type of firearm and three large cannons on their backs that pointed above their heads. And of course the final mark of his creations where the large 'S' of his family crest imbedded on their chests. (1)

Needless to say, that the two of them together made for a very intimidating sight and Kal needed to get in front of this or they wouldn't hesitate to attack "RE SY TO!" the voice said again, this time when it did. The two mechs took fighting stances. Knowing that the meaning of the words that where being said boiled down to 'identify' Kal did what he was told

"Enough!" Kal said as he took another step forward. As soon as his foot hit the ground again, both of the mechs turned to face him and two turrets quickly shot out from the walls and aimed right at him "Bex Haas Qah!" he spoke with a loud voice as the light zeroed in on him and all was quiet for a moment before the light switched off and the drones lowered their guards and took two steps back until they were up against the wall. Then they turned to face the outside word and slammed their blades into the ground and it was a pose that all here where familiar with, it was the same one that the sentinels took when they stood guard.

Knowing that he would need to say something, Kal turned around and looked at the others. All of which looked around very unease and very tense "Ok, everyone" he started getting their attention "I know that was a little much but it couldn't be helped"

"Kal" Tyrande was the first to speak but once she did, she took a moment to gather herself, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, she continued "What was that?" she asked.

"As I've told you, this is my home" he turned and gestured to the walls behind him "it was also used as a bastion to help in the war against my enemy. When I put it away, it was still at war. So as far as the fortress is concerned, it's still at full battle stations. Which is why you all got to meet Sköll and Hati" he lifted his arms to the two drones that stood guard "they're the fortress's main protectors and to be perfectly honest and a little egotistical. They may be my masterpiece when it comes to creation, they're a wonder of engineering" he added with a smile.

"They are machines?" the voice of Shandris said as she had her back turned to Kal, still not taking her eyes off them.

"They are" he nodded at her.

"If this is your home then why did they aim their weapons at you?" Staghelm asked with crossed arms, still clearly not lowering his guard.

There was darkness in Kal's eyes that none would be able to deny as he heard the question "because my enemy was not only incredibly powerful, but deceptively cunning as well. Replicating the form of one person was hardly beyond him, I had to add extra defences to stop him from getting in" with that he walked forward "such as this" he gestured to the pathway in front of them.

There was no door, not yet, instead it was a small walkway that was narrow and tight and would require climbing over in order to get through "since, he could replicate my face and body, I knew I needed to add more. Such as a password and a specific route I need to take in order to get in" he looked over his shoulder to the others "so, follow me or get lost in a never-ending labyrinth that you won't escape from" he finished as he started to make his way inside.

Tyrande turned and gave a look to the others "Staghelm and Shandris shall come with us, the rest of you stand guard. I want to make sure this place is safe first" she thought that they would fight against such an idea but based on the way they looked up at the ominous building in front of them and looked at each other with nervous glances. From that it was clear that while they would do it, they were not eager to follow him in.

"Let's go" Shandris added as she walked forward and followed him in, not wanting to get left behind or loose the rout that he would take.

Kal had to squeeze himself through some places and as he did, he couldn't help but make a mental note that he would need to get rid of some of these defences when everything was set up. He didn't doubt that he would still need some but now that Darkseid was gone, he didn't think some of them where needed. This labyrinth for instance, as of the moment, he doubted that he would need the main entrance of his home to have a back door into its artificial never ending maze universe. A door from now on sounds really nice "Kal" a voice called from behind him and upon turning, he could see that the three leaders of the Night Elves were catching up to him.

He wasn't against the idea of just them coming, if anything it made him feel better knowing that he would need to look out for so many getting lost in the entrance "yeah" he said as he hopped down from a crawl space and waited for the others to catch up.

"I've been meaning to ask" Tryande started as she started to crawl through a gap that he just came through, reaching out with his hand, she looked at it for a moment before taking it, allowing herself to be pulled up "thank you" she said with a smile "I wanted to know, why does this place feel so... dead" she said after a pause, no doubt trying to find the best way to go about this and saying someone's home felt dead. Well, Kal doubted that they would have responded any better if he said their tree looked dead.

But that was ok, the place was supposed to be this way after all "because it is" Kal started to explain as the others started to come through the gap "another one of the defences was to basically play dead, the structure looks dead, but that's the disguise, that's the gambit, look like someone has already broken in. Doing so prevents others from thinking there's anything of value inside. But don't worry, once we get inside proper. I'll speak to Kelex and we'll get everything up and running" he added with a smile as he continued walking.

The others following him down another tightly packed corridor that had many different spikes sticking up from the ground "Kelex" Staghelm said with narrowed eyes "who is Kelex?" he asked.

"He's my friend" he said back quickly as they neared the final corner "a machine but much more advanced then Sköll and Hati. He's an A.I, it stands for artificial intelligence. Kelex has his own personality, his own thoughts and ideas but he's not a real person in the same you or I are but at the same time he's more as well"

When he stopped walking, just before the final corner where a light was shining through. He took one final deep breath before moving. It was dark inside, the light that they just saw came from a single spotlight above them the show at the entrance. To the others, all they would see is a large dark room and it wasn't just dark but black, one would have no way of knowing how big the room they found themselves in was. If it wasn't for their many millennia of experience, they all had that they remained calm.

Kal however stayed where he was for a moment before he turned his head to the left, when the others followed his direction. Only able to see what he was doing because of the spotlight that highlighted his back slightly, when they looked they could only make out a small green dot off in the distance "what is that?" Shandris asked.

"The final test" Kal answered as he walked over to the dot and the others followed him. Though when he got closer, the dot became clearer. It looked like words 'this must be the language as it's written' Shandris thought.

"What does it say?" she asked as herself and the others walked forward with him. When he stopped walking, the others did as well, and they could get a good look at this language. To no one's surprise, it was unlike any they had seen before.

"The symbol of the House of El" Kal told that as he reached down and pressed a few small buttons that where directly under the screen "means... hope" he said before he pressed the final button.

When he did, the screen went blank as did the spotlight and the group of four were surrounded in complete darkness. At least they were for around five seconds, then it was nothing but light. It wasn't gradual, it was instantaneous. Tyrande, Staghelm and Shandris all had to shield their eyes for a moment as they attempted to the new surroundings. Kal however, Kal just looked on with a small smile on his face.

Tyrande once regaining her vision could not blame him, this was the main atrium of the fortress and it was beautiful. Kal once heard Diana call it the hall of remembrance and he had to admit, it fit it well.

Ceiling of the hall had a very impressive projection built into it, despite the hall being so bright you could clearly make out and a plethora of stars, galaxy's, nebulars, comets and even a black hole. Even though the walls were made of dozens if not hundreds of crystal spikes that were stuck together, there were large flat area's that held art.

Tyrande couldn't help herself as she started to walk forward and examine everything closer, Kal felt no reason to stop her as simply took a moment himself. He was home.

As Tyrande walked, she found herself amazed by what she was seeing. This was art, that much she could tell. They were paintings but they were unlike any she has seen before. When she moved, the paintings moved with her, they looked like windows, like she could just go in a interact with them. The first was a group of three, she could see Kal standing in the middle of them, on his right was a woman who wore armour and upon looking closer she could see the bracelets and the lasso and Kal wielded now. On his left was a man, he was dressed in very dark armour that had a symbol on his chest she did not recognize.

What she did however was that Kal had a bright smile on his face as he placed a hand on the other man's shoulder while his other arm was wrapped around the woman's waist, based on her smile as well, she was more than happy to be held by him. That was when she noticed the most amazing thing, when she looked away from the people and to the background, she could see that they were standing in front of the window and behind them was a whole world, they were off of the planet, she had been told that the Draenei that they travelled stars to get here but she never really thought about what it would look like. It was beautiful.

She found herself moving along without even meaning to, the next painting was similar to the other. Though it was more... formal she would say. Kal along with the man and woman from the previous painting where still present, though there were many more... colourful people present. She could see over a dozen different people who all wore different types of costumes 'so, this was the Justice League' she thought to herself. As she did, she couldn't help but wonder if every single one of them was as powerful as him. She would have to ask him another time.

While Tyrande looked at the paintings on the left, Shandris found herself moving to the right side of the hall. She didn't understand how it worked but she had to admit, it was beautiful in its own way and horrifying. It was a battle, that much was clear. She see Kal-El leading the charge on one side and behind him was a small army of humans and other being she didn't recognize, against them... she almost called them demons, they certainly looked like them but they were a little different. The one leading them though, she narrowed her eyes as she starred at him. This being, he was large, hard dark skin and blazing red eyes 'Is this him?' she thought to herself 'Was this the great enemy that turned him into who he is now?' she wanted to ask herself, she really did but at the same time she did not. Did she really want to bring up a memory like this?

Staghelm moved across the large hall and he had to admit, it wasn't something that he himself would want his home to be, but he could admit that it had a beauty to it. He walked to the far end of the hall where a statue stood, four statues to be specific. Two men and two women. They looked human from what he could tell and the likeness was easy to see as the faces where well detailed. The two men were at the back and the women where in front of them, each had an arm raised into the air and each hand had a large portion of a planet in them. Giving the group an impression of holding up the world. He crossed his arms as he looked, he could understand the symbolism at the very least.

He took a moment to admire the art of it all before he looked around the immediate area he found himself in. The wall was same lifeless crystal as the walls but there was a small stream of water that went through the base of the statue and towards the centre of the hall, it reached the middle and made a small pool. From there it separated into half a dozen different directions, spreading out over the hall until it reached the walls. He assumed that they carried on beyond that but he couldn't see it. Up against the walls where he stood, he could see a handful of doors that could have led anywhere as far as he knew.

As he stood still, he shook his right hand only an inch. Even if one was looking they wouldn't even notice it. But if Kal was looking then he would have seen the small seed that dropped from his sleeve and fell to the ground, a small smirk came onto his face. He knew what he had to do, his son had told him that this Kal would be a danger and that he would have to act in order to protect his people.

"Master! So delightful to see you again" a new voice sounded. As one all three of the Night Elves turned in their place and looked to the middle of the hall where the voice came from, when they saw nothing, confusion spread across their faces "I worried you would not return" the voice said again. This time all their heads turned upwards towards the ceiling and confusion came to all of them as they saw the source of the voice.

Hovering in the air, in the centre of the ceiling slowing makings its way down was... none of them could find the words. Kal however just smiled at the sight as the small mechanical body came down towards him "Kelex" he said as he walked forward a couple of steps "you're ok" he said to himself more than he did the family A.I. The body of Kelex was small, it possessed no arms or legs and if you wanted to call it a small ball with an eye in it you would be pretty much correct in that assessment (2)

"Of course, I am ok master" Kelex said as he lowered himself to the ground while Kal walked forward and soon the two were faced to face "I was safe within the pocket dimension, you were the one who stayed behind to fight the enemy. Since you are here, I assume you succeeded" the little drone moved side to side as he spoke, like a head normally would.

The smile briefly left Kal's face before he spoke "yes I was, the Earth did not survive the final encounter" he explained as he could see behind Kelex that the others were making their way towards him.

The floating eyes dropped slightly "that is saddening to here, but you are here now" it moved back up and came back to its cheerful voice "and you bring guests" the head turned and looked at the others as they reached them. Kelex looked closely at Tryande as she was the one to reach them first "Greetings!" he said cheerfully "I am Kelex. The artificial intelligence for the House of El. Who might you be?" he asked the priestess.

Tyrande leaned back slightly as Kelex got closer and when he finished speaking her eyes turned to look at Kal "What did it say?" she asked him.

Kal opened his mouth to respond and stopped himself when he let out a mental sigh, he just realized that Kelex was speaking Kryptionian so to her, Shandris and Staghelm, it sounded like 'Zu'u fin fah hofkah aal hi kos sahrot heyv' "Kelex, they speak a different language" he informed the A.I.

"Oh, I see" the drone backed up slightly and looked over to Kal "I could start a brain scan while they speak to speed up the process of understanding and cataloguing the language" he said to him.

Kal gave the drone a look before turning to look at Tyrande and then back to the drone "yeah, get started on that" he said as he took a step forward "everyone, this is Kelex" he introduced as the drone lifted into the air slightly above the group and starred down at Tyrande. Something she clearly wasn't happy with as her eyes narrowed slightly "he's the artificial intelligence of my family and Tyrande" he said getting the woman's attention "don't worry about what he's doing, right now he's scanning your brain. It's completely harmless, he's doing it so he can understand the language"

"So" Shandris started as she crossed her arms, clearly not liking what the drone was doing "it's a machine?" she asked with a confused look.

Kal hummed slightly, not getting angry as he understood that the people of this world would have very little experience when it comes to technology. How would one explain an A.I to people like this? "he's as much as a machine as you are an animal" he stated "technically, yes he is a machine but at the same time he is far more than that. You can think of Kelex as the caretaker of the fortress, in a way he is the fortress. He maintains and controls all of it"

He suddenly clapped his hands and started to walk past the group and towards the end of the hall "let's head to the control room and get the defences up and running"

After just a moment, the group followed him. Though Tryande was keeping an eye on Kelex before walking with him, clearly noticing that this... Kelex was still watching her as they moved "Kal" Shandris started "I was wondering if you could tell us a little bit more about what defences you would have?" she asked.

And it was a fair question, after Kal didn't forget that one of the main reasons that he was allowed to set up shop here was because he would act as a barricade between the Horde and the Night Elves so it only made sense, she would want to know what is being used in place of her own soldiers "Well, the first thing I want to do is get the shielding up and running so I don't have any problems with people who want to make things... difficult for me. It won't take long and I hope you can understand that now the fortress is up it is my main priority. I'll not bother getting the cloaking shield up as I do want everyone to know I'm here, the other will stay operational but don't worry, I'll leave a small hole in the shields by the entrance so if anyone has a reason for being here, they could just come and knock" he said as he turned down one of the corridors with the others following him.

As they did walk, the Night Elves couldn't help but be impressed by what they stood in, it was like they were walking through a cave that was made of these crystals and even though their people preferred something more full of nature to live in, they could at the very least understand how someone could live here "Oh, I'll need to remove the defences around the entrance so it goes back to a regular door" Kal continued "once that's done, I can start to go a bit more wide spread with the defences, I'll get a drone network up and running that will patrol the area and keep an eye out for threats. For now that should keep things together and allow your own sentinels to leave the area"

"How long do you believe it would take for everything to get into place?" Staghelm asked as they neared the control room.

"The shields will take about an hour" he answered "the main entrance will take a day and the drone network may take a week" he answered as they entered another large room. This one was different from the other, it wasn't the as large and much more compact. Tyrande would say that it was only slightly larger than her own office but more circular in design. Off to the far side from where they entered, she wasn't sure what it was.

There was a large black screen that had a chair faced slight away from it "Ok, let's get started" Kal said as he placed the Trident off his back and placed it on the ground, it standing tall without the need for someone to hold it. He sat in the chair, which much like the walls was made of the same crystal as everything else, it was shaped like a stump sticking out of the ground, behind it where five shards of the same crystal that where hovering of their own accord and acted as a back rest.

The three Night Elves all moved forward and saw that when he sat down, a holographic keyboard appeared in front of him and he started to type into it. The black screen lit up and showed many different symbols that none of the recognized "Brain scan complete" the voice of Kelex said as the three looked up to see the small robot lower itself in-between them "your language has been assimilated, now we can communicate" he added with a small hop in the air "Greetings, I am Kelex, the Artificial Intelligence of the house of El. It is a pleasure to meet you"

Tyrande had to admit, she was completely bewildered for a moment before her millennium of practise in politics was able to help her "err... yes, it is a pleasure to meet you as well, Kelex" she said back calmly. Though she did find herself very unnerved that this machine just scanned her brain and was able to get the language from that "My name is Tyrande" she introduced herself.

"Are you an alley of the master Tyrande" Kelex asked as its body moved much closer to her head, making her recoil slightly before it backed away.

"Yes..." she answered with more hesitation in her voice then she meant.

"Excellent" Kalex's voice had a cheerful tone "I shall make a note in the system that you are a friend and will not be immediately destroyed"

"...Thank you" she said with a worried glance at the others. All they could do was give her a shrug.

"Kal" Shandris spoke up as she moved closer to the man who still sat in his chair and typed away "what are you doing?" she asked as she stopped next to the man.

As the others all turned to look at him, none, not even Kelex noticed how Staghelm calmly and gently shook his arm and another seed dropped him his sleeve and landed calmly on the ground "I'm powering up the fortresses systems, making sure everything is running smoothly" he answered "Kelex, how's the power core doing?" he asked.

Kelex moved forward and hovered in the air in front of Kal "as pair the protocol, the fortresses power core has been dormant while sealed away in order to prevent detection from outside enemy forces, by my calculations, it will take three standard hours for the core to reach full power"

Kal nodded as he stood up from the chair "alright, once it is let's get the shields up and running and direct whatever power we have at the moment to the workshops, we need to get these drones up and running"

"Understood master" Kelex said back with a nod "Master, we seem to have a gathering around the front gate" he said as the screen showed camera footage outside. Everyone turned to see that the Night Elve crowed in front of them had only gotten bigger and they seemed to be getting anxious based on the way some of them where pacing, talking to each other in hushed tones and more weapons where being drawn "Shall I destroy them?" he asked calmly though when he spoke, through the camera they could see that Sköll and Hati suddenly moved and turned to face the crowd from different sides, there weapons being raised and the guns on their shoulders aiming at targets.

The sudden movement caused them to panic and they backed up and some even just ran "No!" Kal shouted quickly before any of the others could "Kelex, stand down" he ordered and the drones immediately lowered their weapons and returned to their normal stances.

"Perhaps the tour of your home can begin another time" Shandris suggested, the others turned to her but she spoke before they could "the people are getting nervous and that hasn't helped" she nodded to the screen "we don't want to cause a panic by staying away longer than we need to, maybe it would be best to leave you to your work. I'll stay here and manage the sentinels and when this... drone network is complete I'll organize how many forces are needed where. We all have our own duties" she added as she looked at the high priestess and arch druid.

Tyrande thought about what was said before she let out a sigh and small nod before turning to Kal "you're our neighbour now, I imagine we'll see each other frequently and I would very much like to see this rest of this... fortress but Shandris is right. We shall have many opportunities to see the rest of this in the future. Will there be a way to enter if we have need of you?" she asked calmly.

"Yes" he nodded "once the shields are up I'll be getting rid of the entrance you came in with and replace if with a regular door" he answered, well it would be a regular door but he didn't tell them that just yet, he didn't trust them that much. Not yet at least "I'll walk you out" he added as he started to make his way to the exit, the Night Elves following close behind him.

Once Kal escorted the leaders of the Night Elves out of his home, he went to work. Like he said the first thing he did was get the multi layered shielding up and running, not wanting to make them any more nervous than they no doubt must be already. He decided to forgo the camouflage for two reasons, the first being that yes, he wanted to the Night Elves to feel safer and this huge fortress suddenly disappearing wouldn't help things and the second reason being that he didn't feel the need to use it. He was confident that if anyone saw the fortress and wanted a fight, he could deal with them without having to worry home security.

As for the other shielding levels, that would protect the structure from projectiles, energy attacks and physical damage. But that in itself present another problem, for all intents and purposes it was peace time and these shields did not discriminate, if anyone touched them, they would be badly hurt and that wouldn't help his diplomatic situation. So, for now he made the choice to keep most of the shields powered down though now charged they can be turned on in a matter of seconds. Which proved to be correct as over the course of the next couple of days, the security cameras could clearly see that many Night Elves had come to get a closer look at the structure, most likely not knowing what it was.

He knew that Tyrande and Staghelm would both be spreading word to their people that this new structure was the home of an alley of theirs but word would be slow to spread. Despite so many coming to get a closer look, he wasn't worried about some sneaking in when they shouldn't. While the fortress looks like it's just a bunch of spikes placed on top of each other, it was completely solid. It may look like it had hundreds of different cracks or gaps in between the spikes but they only went a couple of feet in before hitting a solid wall and crystal itself was silently harder than diamond so no-ones getting in with force. The only way for someone to enter was through the main entrance and that meant getting past Sköll and Hati, something he doubted would be able to happen, those two held back Darkseid for a few minutes before being to damage to continue.

As he said, once the shields where ready to be used. He started to go through the process of undoing the entrance labyrinth which took a while as it involved collapsing a small pocket universe without destroying half of planet in the process. Once it was done, the small group that lived and cared for the temple which was now opposite the entrance of the fortress got a good view of the Hall of remembrance, which promoted them into coming over and simply asking if they could take a closer look. Not seeing the problem with the request, it led to Kal taking a small group of priests and priestesses through the hall and giving them a small tour of it.

Over the next day he started to creation of the door, it wasn't just a door of course but a very impressive piece of engineering as while it looked like the same crystal as the walls, it was ten times harder, had dozens of different security features built into it, some of the most basic being increasing the density of the atoms making it up allowing it to become harder and heavier. That wasn't even going into the turrets and the like. Thankfully that didn't take long.

When he was finished, the primary entrance to the fortress was a large solid door that held his emblem in the middle of it. It was a basic design but he didn't want to go over the top with a simple entrance. After that was finished he went to the workshop and started to help Kelex with the drone network. The workshop in the fortress could have been mistaken was a large Earth factory that had many different conveyor belts and different machines that could help build something in mass. The basic design for the drones was nearly finished when he arrived, Kal would just need to right up the code and find a way to get the martials needed for construction.

The war on Earth and practically wiped out all the drones that Kal had, with only two surviving the entire thing and being present in the fortress, he told Kelex to a scan of the immediate area and look for any metal deposits that could be used. It took a couple of hours but the two drones where able to find several deposits that could be mined, he gave the go ahead to put made sure that they only used the deposits that where the furthest away from the Night Elves and where the least likely to cause damage to the environment.

The drones themselves were going to be made from steel that would be given a little strength boost from some molecular manipulating, they wouldn't be as strong as Sköll and Hati of course. He had no plans on changing that any time soon, these drones were made for simple surveillance and base combat patrol. Each drone would be around five feet in length and four feet in height, they would each have a small power core that would allow them flight through the thrusters on the back of them, they each possessed three arms that went in front of them and each one was capable of firing a beam of concentrated plasma energy. Needless to say that each one was capable of many different layers of optics that would allow them to be very efficient at locating any trespassers and had limited intelligence, they would follow basic instructions and would have protocols in place that would tell them out to act in different situations, when something more complicated would happen Kelex would take over remotely and manage things from there. (3)

While they wouldn't act as a substitute for an army and wouldn't be able to fight against one, they would do the job that needs to be done. Within the course of one week, he and Kelex had made one hundred different drones which are now being called 'Monitors' not the most original name but it would work as instructed. After that he simply made his way outside and towards the temple which also seemed to work as a type of barracks for the sentinels as well.

He and Shandris went over the details of where they'll be patrolling and after a couple of hours they found a good balance, Kal was hesitant to give the Monitors a killing order but she was able to convince him that the borders between the Horde and the Alliance were agreed upon years ago and they should be well aware of where those lines. But he wouldn't budge on this one and so only warning shots would be fired as a means of controlling anyone who illegally crossed the border for whatever reason while another would alert the sentinels.

The monitors would patrol the borders between mount Hyjal and the Horde occupied territories. The first one being the small border on the bottom right of Hyjal which was Azshara, while not outright belonging to either force. Azshara held more Horde occupants then it did Night Elves and now that the monitors would watch the border, Shandris was confident in saying that she could encourage more frontier villages to grow and be given more resources as she could now spare the sentinels that would be able to protect it. There would also be a small contagion that would be watching the waters between Azshara and Winterspring as that must be protected as well.

The majority of the Monitors however would be spread along the border between Hyjal and Ashenvale. The patrol would go along most of the border of Ashenvale, going past Felwood as well and stopping just shy of the Darkshore, when they meet that border, they will go into the middle of Ashenvale and follow the drawn line between the Night Elves and Warsong clan.

Once everything was agreed upon, the monitors got to work and started to move to their designated locations and begin their patrolling. The Night Elves had to admit, it was quite the sight to see so many flying robots flying silently through the sky, with many more being made constantly as it was simply a matter of acquiring the martials needed to make more. Of course, only a hundred to patrol hundreds of miles worth of borders was a large task and they would fail many times due to their simply being too few of them.

But with Kelex keeping five monitors back to gather the needed materials, it was simply a matter of time before they would have enough to effectively patrol it all. It was simply a matter of time, of course he didn't forget his words to Thrall and he would also need to get the ground work started for a solar power plant, of course it wouldn't be as big as the ones on Earth as A: Orgrimmar wasn't big enough to need one that large and B: even if it was, it would take time for them to want that many devices that would require electricity.

And he wasn't planning on changing that too much, not yet at least. For now he would simply place lamp posts, spotlights, some heaters and general cooking appliances. Everything that required wood pretty much, from there the Warsong clan shall do as Thrall said and stop getting the lumber since the Horde would no longer have a need for it. Which would require even more martials.

Kal rested calmly in his study, he was leaning back in his comfortable chair, his hands where locked behind his head and his feet were kicked up on the chairs extended footrest. In front of him was a large white board that was full of different equations that where the foundations for what was going to be his anti-magic shield and it was not enough. Kal tilted his head and frowned in concentration, what was in front of him now was what he could remember from his time working with Zatanna and Doctor Fate. He was able to get the basic of magic down and understood from a scientific standpoint but the problem was that this was a different universe, so it was different rules.

Of yeah, he found that out a couple of days ago. Kelex was able to get a reading on the frequency of the immediate space around the planet. It was sombre thought, that he was in a completely different universe and for the first time, Kal felt no need to go back to his own. What was left for him there? His planet was gone, his friends, his family, even his enemies where gone. He had nothing left to go back too.

Shaking his head of the somber thought, he went back to the matter at hand. Different universe, different rules. Normally that wouldn't mean much but magic is a bitch like that, magic in a different universe could make it so everything on the board meant nothing. Meaning that if he wanted this to work he would need to do some experimenting. But that could wait for another time, he's been in here for three hours now and he hadn't done as much as he would like. He needed a break.

He stopped mid step when an idea came to him, something he hasn't thought about before now. Flying always helped him relax and he hasn't done that in a long time 'maybe it was time to fall back into old habit' he thought to himself as he moved out of his study, leaving the board there for now, he'll come back to it later.

He walked down the halls of his home, the only sounds coming to his ears where the sounds of his own footsteps and the distant mechanical sounds of the workshop which has yet to stop the construction of the more monitors. He came to a small room that was no bigger than a cupboard, he could stretch his arms and touch all the walls around him. When he looked up though, it went up to the very top of the fortress, you wouldn't be wrong when saying that it was just a large tube.

He reached up and touched his chest, when he did, the shirt and jeans he was wearing slowly started to change until his regular clothing was replaced with the suit of his people, his suit. While the main entrance to the fortress was the primary way both in and out, that didn't mean he didn't have other smaller ways in and out that would just be for him.

Without a warning he shot up from the ground and before he could even blink, he was in the air. He felt the sun on his face, the wind go through his hair and a small smile came onto his face. Just before he hit the clouds, he turned his body so he wouldn't go higher and then he shot forwards. A sonic boom flowing behind him as he went, he went far faster than he should have done but he didn't care, it's been far too long since he's been able to just enjoy flying.

Jaina had to repress the urge to not roll her eyes as she sat at her desk in the tower of Theramore. A few days ago, a large majority of the Alliance forces from the 'War of the Shifting Stands' as she's heard the historians are calling it now. Of course, with all those people going home, the stories went with them. The stories of heroic battle, of bravery, of sacrifice and horror, unlike all the other battle stories that have been around for hundreds of years. These stories had another topic, Kal's name was being spread everywhere.

Of course, many would call them outlandish or the ramblings of the insane of battle stressed. However, when everyone spoke of him, including the most hardened of veterans that have impressive reputations... well, it got people talking to say the least.

And of course all of this recently reached the ears of the king of Stormwind ,Varian Wrynn. She couldn't help but lean back in his chair and stare at the ceiling, it was difficult to describe the relationship between the two. He was Jaina's king and she would follow his orders as that was her duty, that didn't mean she necessarily liked him. She respected him, that was certain but she and the king have had many arguments of many different topics, unfortunately that has only increased since he was found after the whole Onyxia situation was delt with.

Well... mostly delt with. The black dragon herself was still out there somewhere but the king had been returned to his people after being taken away so the stability of the kingdom was strong and she was grateful for that but the king's mood after returning has only gotten worse. He has always been harsh, blunt and rash but there would always have been a level of kindness in him. While it is still there, ever since he returned it's been heavily muted.

Which is what has led to the letter in front of her, looking back down to her desk, the letter in front of her. Straight from the king himself with instructions for her. In no uncertain terms, she was to find out if the rumours about Kal are true or not, which she already knew having met the man before and in no uncertain terms, order him to come to Stormwind.

There were many different things wrong with the letter, the most primary being Wrynn didn't have the authority to do such a thing. She could only assume was that he thought he was part of the alliance somehow, she would need to tell him the truth about what exactly Kal was. In order to do that she would need to find out herself.

She let out a sigh and stood from her desk, moving to the side of the room to grab her staff. Despite the fact that the letter was ridicules, and she wasn't going to be so blunt about it but her king did give her an order so she must obey. She just hoped that she could convince him to go to Stormwind, for all she knew he may want to go regardless. Thankfully she knew where to find him, word has spread of a large fortress of magical crystal appearing at the summit of mount Hyjal. It wasn't hard to assume who that would be, thankfully she has permission from the Night Elves to approach the mountain.

There were no words, no words at all to describe what he was looking at. Kal has seen many weird, wonderful and amazing places in his time, he's seen things that would bring the most hardened warriors to tears, the most open-minded people to insanity. But this was something else.

After flying over the entire continent, he shot up into space, hovering right on top of the planet's atmosphere and he could see everything that was below him, all the oceans and all the land masses, all in all he could see that this planet had about ten percent less land mass then Earth did, it was a lot to go over. That alone however was not what caused him the most confusion, it was when he looked closer.

He looked through all the different layers of the planet, beneath the crust of the surface and through a very strong rock type even he took a moment to see through and towards the planets core. But there was no core. Not in the way he expected at least. It's been three minutes and his face still hadn't recovered and it was contorted in shock. Right there, in the middle planet, right where the core should be. Was a being, a truly colossal female being curled up in the fetal position.

That was when he realized it, this was where all the magic was coming from and from there, all the different species that this planet held. As he looked, he saw everything he would have to do to understand what was happening, not to mention what he was going to do about it, in that moment he could only think of one thing to say.

"What the fuck!"

(2) Halo: 343 guilty spark body

(3) Halo: Halo Sentinels

Ok everyone, we'll leave this one here. Let me know what you all thought, I know it wasn't a lot and was mainly filler but this chapter had to happen so I thought I would just get it over with. Next time we have Kal going to Stormwind and we all know what happens then, Superman meets King Wrynn. That should be fun to see.
