General POV
It's been a few weeks and everyone has been busy. Quinn has been tied up at work with her cases. Santana and the rest of the mischiefs have been working hard on their albums. Kurt is waiting at the corner coffee shop for Santana to arrive. They have kept in contact and Kurt wants to have some one on one with Santana and just catch up. He's reading a magazine when he sees her walk in.
"Hey Santana!" Kurt says as he stands up and hugs her
"Hey Kurt, good to see you again." Santana hugs him back and takes a seat across from him
The waitress came by and took their coffee orders.
"So what have you been up to at Vogue?" Santana asked
"Oh you know just living the life, traveling and working on some designer stuff." Kurt says cheery
"That's great Kurt, i'm super happy for you." Santana says with a smile.
They both talk about their jobs and how everything is going and they talk a bit about the guy that Kurt has been seeing. He's this french guy who just started to work with him.
"So how are things with Quinn going?" Kurt asked
"They're good, we've spent more time together and it seems as if we're on good terms when it comes to our friendship and i'm happy about that." Santana replies
"I'm glad its going well. But I also want to know where she stands in your life. Quinn is a beautiful girl and she deserves to be happy Santana and if you're going to just lead her on or make her wait, that's where i come in because she needs to find her happiness and if that's not you then you should let her know and let her move on with someone that will treat her and love her like she deserves."
Santana is a bit taken back because she has not really thought about it. She has been focused on how she felt and how she wanted to go about things.
"You're right Kurt, she does. I would like to believe that i'm not leading her on but i also haven't kept her from being with someone. Quinn is free to date whoever she wants. I appreciate her being back in my life and being able to reconnect but i am also in a relationship with someone who really cares about me. Will my relationship last? I don't know but i know i owe that to myself. Quinn can do whatever she wants. I genuinely want her to be happy and I wish I could do that and be that for her but I made my decision and i choose Becky." Santana replies in a defensive tone
"I didn't mean to upset you Santana but I need you to know that I'm looking out for my best friends and I don't want her thinking theres a chance." Kurt says calmly as he tries to manage the situation.
"I get it Kurt, really i do. But this hasn't been easy for me also. I have a lot of emotions when it comes to Quinn she was my first true love. She's the one i saw a life with and then it all changed. I'm different now and yes thinking about her with someone else rubs me the wrong way but i can't feel like that when i already have someone that is willing to make it work with me. I get it and if or when the time comes that Quinn moves on I will support her like she has supported me." Santana replies a bit more calm.
They talk for a few minutes more and make plans to meet up the following week to watch a movie and just hang out.
Quinn is sitting in her living room doing some research when she gets a text from Kurt
Kurt: "Hey! Coming over and bringing some food!"
Quinn: "Okay! Thank you i'm starving!"
After a few minutes Kurt knocks on the door and Quinn opens quickly. He greets her and walks inside towards the kitchen to put the food. They both serve themselves and head over to the living room where Quinn puts all her things aside and make herself comfortable and so does Kurt.
"So how was your day?" Quinn asks as she puts food in her mouth.
"It was good, I actually met up with Santana and we caught up for a while and it was nice." Kurt says
This catches Quinn of guard because she didn't know they both were meeting up but then again she has been busy with work and trying to finish her work load.
"That's nice what did you both talk about?" Quinn asks curiously
"You know the same things life, work, love. I told her about the new guy at work and she told me to go for it and she told me about the music video and what she plans to do after the album drops." Kurt says
"Yeah, she's been pretty busy with all of that. I know Becky got back early and they've been spending a lot of time together. I hardly hear from her all day." Quinn says pretty upset.
"Well they do have a song together and it's part of their job. And they are dating so it's kind of obvious that they will spend time together." Kurt mentions
"I know that Kurt! But we were getting along and seeing each other every day and now since her girlfriend is back she just pushes us away!" Quinn is starting to get irritated
"Quinn, that's how you and her were. When you both were together no one else mattered. All you wanted to do was be together the time you both could. Becky won't always be around she might be going on a world tour and who knows when Santana will see her. And if Santana goes on tour who knows how long it will be till we see her." Kurt says trying to make a point.
Quinn had not thought about that because so far Santana was in New York and of course she was working on music but dealing with her being on the road and not being able to see her constantly or even talk to her as much as she wanted in a way gave Quinn anxiety. And Becky also being on the road and maybe their relationship would not work out. Santana was an artist and she could travel wherever she wanted and she would go see Becky but Quinn didn't have the luxury to do that at the drop of a hat.
"Earth to Quinn" Kurt says
Quinn snaps out of her thoughts and just looks at Kurt
"You're right, I don't know what came over me. I guess I hadn't thought about all of that." Quinn says trying to keep her composure
Kurt looks at Quinn trying to read her expression. He loves his friend but he's also worried about her so he decides to ask.
"Quinn, why don't you just move on? Find someone to date and get your mind off of Santana? She has clearly moved on and is with someone. Why don't you at least try?"
Quinn just looks at him as if he's lost his mind. She takes a moment and looks down and then look straight at Kurt.
"Do you think I haven't tried? That night I saw her again i was supposed to meet someone else at another bar. But since I was early I wanted to have a drink to relax. The moment I heard her again and spoke to her nobody else mattered. I was drawn back to her. I know she's with someone else Kurt and i hate it but i rather have her as a friend then not at all. I have tried to move on, i've gone on a few lunch dates but even as a friends Santana still treats me better than any of these other guys or girls. I don't have to fake being someone i'm not when it comes to her. She's it for me Kurt. I watched her be in love with Britt and I waited my turn so now i can watch her love Becky and wait again."
"I didn't know that Quinn, I'm sorry. I just don't like seeing you this way. You deserve to be happy. To have all you've wished for. Maybe you two should give each other some space?" Kurt says as he puts his hand on Quinns shoulder.
"I can't do that Kurt. I can't put myself through that again." Quinn says sadly
"I'm sorry to have brought this up. I just want to help and seeing you happy and then sad these past few months really upsets me because I know how badly you want to be with her. What can i do Quinn?" Kurt asks sympathetically
Quinn huffs and leans back on the couch closing her eyes.
"I'm not sure Kurt. I know you want to help but i'm not sure honestly. My job does take up a lot of my time and all my free time i try and see her but we text during the day. I don't want to meddle and get in between her relationship because that will only make it worse. I guess only time will tell. Am i stupid for waiting?" Quinn asks
"No honey, you're not stupid. You just know who you want to be with. You're right only time will tell. Just be her friend and if it's meant to be then it'll happen." Kurt says as he goes to hug her.
They both talk a little longer before Kurt says his goodbyes and leaves for the night.
Quinn showers and is settling in for the night when her phone rings and it's a facetime call from Santana
"Hey San!"
"What's up Q? what are you doing?"
"I'm about to just lay down for the night. You? I see your still in your office."
"Yeah, i'm working on this new song that came to mind and i've been here working on it."
"That's amazing San! But i thought you were done with this album?"
"Oh i am but this might be a single, i'm not sure yet but i had to write it down."
"Well i can't wait to hear it.. when you're ready of course"
"Actually this Saturday we will have a listening party for the whole album. I was wondering if you'd like to come? I will call Kurt tomorrow and let him know also."
"Of course! Send me the time and I will make sure to be there!"
"Perfect you get to meet some of our good friends! I'm excited! Well get some rest Q. I'll talk to you later. Get some rest goodnight!"
"Goodnight San." Quinn says and they end their conversation.
Quinn falls asleep while on the other side of town Santana is working on her song. Becky walks into Santanas office
"Hey babe. Still working?"
Santana looks up and instantly smiles
"Yeah babe, i'm working on this song and i'm almost done with it." Santana smiles and gets up to kiss her.
"That's amazing! Can i hear it?" Becky says kissing her back
"I want it to be a surprise but for sure you'll listen to it." Santana says as she just hugs her girlfriend
"I want to talk to you about something." Becky says quietly
"Okay... is everything okay?" Santana asks nervously
"Yeah! Everything is fine babe! It's just that I was talking to my manager and they want me to do a year tour all through latin America and here in the states." Becky says as she holds Santanas hands
"Babe that's amazing!" Santana says as she hugs her
"Yeah, but that's a whole year babe with out us seeing each other constantly. And i'm here to give you and out if you want to take it." Becky says with fear in her voice.
Becky doesn't want to break up with Santana but she knows that this is part of their job and things happen. She would never cheat on Santana but she also knows that theres a blonde here that can change things and she rather not hold the Latina back or risk getting hurt again.
"I don't want an out Becky. I know it might be difficult but we can make it work. I know i do. Don't do this babe." Santana says as she pulls Becky into her for a hug
"Look San, just think about it okay? And i mean really think about it please. We'll talk at the listening party and you can give me your final answer there." Becky says leaning in and pecks her on the lips. She wipes her lips with her thumb and walks away.
Santana doesn't know how to react to this and just does what she knows best. She turns off her phone and gets lost in her work. This is an emotion and situation she does not want to deal with right now.
A few days pass by and Santana hasn't really spoken to anyone. She's been focused on herself and the album. She only checks her phone for emails but has ignored texts from other people. She decided she's going to go talk to Quinn and see how she's doing. She doesn't bother to text her and just leaves. She's on her way when she see's said blonde walking next to some girl she's never seen before. They seem to be having a good conversation and the stop in front of the building where Quinn works. Santana gets off the car and is walking towards them but the other two don't see her. She's getting closer when she sees the other girl lean in and kiss Quinn. This stops Santana in her tracks. It's not a long kiss maybe 2 seconds but it seems like and eternity for Santana. The other girl says something and walks away. Quinn is standing there stunned, she looks down and then looks around and makes eye contact with Santana.
Santana gives her a soft smile and waves. Quinn is having an internal panic but before she can say anything Santana is right in front of her.
"San that's not what it looked like. I didn't know she was going to do that." Quinn says quickly.
"Q, it's okay. You're single and a great catch. Anyone would be lucky to have you." Santana says as calmly as she can. But inside she is dying and wants to kill the other girl for kissing Quinn. But she knows she can't be mad
"San, i'm not interested in dating right now. I know I said it's you who I want and that's still true but my career is taking off and i'm super busy. I don't want to lead someone on and not have time for them. I want to work on me." Quinn says
Santana appreciates her honesty and changes her mind on telling her about what Becky said. She wants to support Quinn now just like she did when she found out about Becky.
"I get that Q. Do you and be great at it. I support you one hundred percent. And when you do date know i'll be here." Santana says. They talk for a bit and Santana makes up an excuse to leave.
The following day they're all hanging out at Santanas loft and everyone is just having a good time. Quinn sees that Becky and Santana aren't as glued together but they're also not ignoring each other. Dani comes up to Quinn and they're making conversation. But Dani can see that Quinn is distracted by something. She turns around to look at what Quinn is looking at and she sees it's Becky and Santana in some type of serious conversation.
"It's weird how we all grow up somehow huh Quinn?" Dani asks
"What do you mean?" Quinn responds curiously
"Well if it would have been a few years ago Santana would have just ignored Becky and pretended she didn't exist." Dani says humorously
Quinn looks at her confused.
"You know? given the fact that Becky is going off on tour for a year and gave Santana and out to their relationship. Breaking up with her." Dani says
in that moment realization comes to Quinn and she understands why Santana has been acting weird and when she showed up to her job and also the explanation that Quinn gave her about not wanting to date. She feels stupid and she starts to panic thinking she messed up.
"Wait so the broke up?!" Quinn asks rapidly
Dani shrugs her shoulders. "I'm not sure. I just know Becky gave her and out. Santana hasn't responded or said anything. I told you Quinn i'm rooting for you. I love Becky and think she's good for her. But if you let this slide. Santana is not the type to sit back she'll either do her best to keep Becky or she will make it work with you."
Quinn is standing there quiet when she sees Santana exit the loft. She decides to follow her but when she gets close to the door she hears a scream and a gun shot.
Becky and Quinn run out with everyone behind them. They see Santana on the floor bleeding and a hysterical Rachel standing over her. Rachel looks up at everyone
"If i can't have her. No one can!" She screams
Sorry it's taken me a while to upload. I've had a lot going on in my personal life. I had this whole story finished but i think there are some things i will change on it. Let me know what you guys think and thank you for reading!
