Kirishima had gone into the kitchen to grab some water before he went to sleep, only to hear the voices of Alice and Bakugo as they came back inside. They were chatting about cooking, which caught the male off guard. He knew Bakugo liked to cook and Alice had her herbs, but the fact they were outside, at night, alone really threw him for a loop. Yeah, they were friends- but he'd never seen them do anything together, just the two of them. Especially when it was close to 11pm at night, well past Bakugo's bedtime. The male ducked into the bathroom fast and poked his head out to watch. Alice went into the kitchen and Bakugo went to the elevator, leaving the male to himself.
He made a beeline to the stairs, but it was too late. Bakugo had gotten into his room before Kirishima could call out to him. He wanted to badger the boy into spilling the reason why he was still awake. Why was he hanging with Alice? Why were they outside alone? What were they doing? Kirishima crossed his arms and pouted before he wandered over towards his room.
He'd ask Bakugo in the morning, but in the morning- the male missed his chance. Bakugo had left earlier than normal to get to Endeavor's agency before Todoroki, which left Kirishima irritated that he didnt approach the male the previous night. He headed downstairs to grab his morning protein drink and get packed for the week. At least he'd be able to grill Alice on their way to the agency.
"You look thrilled to be awake." Kirishima snagged her bag from her as Alice stepped outside into the bright sunshine. She squinted and grumbled, flipping up the hood on her jacket to shield her face from the sun.
"I didnt sleep well last night." She admitted, rubbing her eyes and heading towards the main road. She hadnt taken her medication, too caught up with talking to Bakugo that she missed her dose. "I maybe got a few hours? If that?"
"Thats disgusting." Kirshima hoisted both of their bags on his shoulder and followed along after her. "You gonna need an energy drink before we head to the Agency?"
"Prolly. I have one in my bag, but I dont think one will help me through the day." Alice sighed softly and snagged the open gate for Kirishima- letting the male go ahead of her. They headed down to the station, Alice grabbed a drink from one of the vending machines and moved to stand near Kirishima. She opened the can and took a long drink. "Gods, I needed this."
"Its gonna kill you eventually." Kirishima snorted and rolled his eyes, standing close to the girl once they were on the train into town.
"Most likely, but at least Ill die awake."
Kirishima started laughing and just nudged her. "So I saw you with Bakubro last night, how did you get that guy to stay awake past 9pm?" He rose a brow and the girl didnt meet his gaze.
"He was asking why I was awake." She said with a shrug. "Or why I dont go to sleep until well after you guys do. On more than one occasion, he's caught me in the kitchen at like 5am doing dishes or cleaning because I couldnt sleep. The nightmares get bad around this time of year."
"Oh..." Kirishima frowned, now he felt bad. Was Bakugo talking her through a nightmare? But why would be be helping the girl? He rarely helped anyone without some sort of motive. "I was curious. Bakubro never hangs out with any of the girls, so I kinda wanted to find out why."
Alice shrugged, "He told me I didnt get in his way, if that helps?" She gripped his arm as the train stopped at its first destination. They still had a few stops to go before they got to the Agency. "Truthfully, he's been the complete opposite than what you guys have described him as. I mean, I can see where yall get it- but he's been extremely patient with me aside from those few times."
Kirishima shrugged, "I still dont get the guy at all. He's one of my best friends and he still seems to surprise me. I admire him a lot, but he also confuses me- I kinda was caught off guard when you guys were coming inside. Bakubro doesnt even let most people get that close to him, let alone hold a door for someone. I kinda wanted to ask him this morning if he liked you or something, but he had already left."
"Liked me?" Alice frowned, she didnt understand. Was it a language barrier? "What do you mean?"
"Like a Crush? I think. Kinda how Tokoyami's got the hots for you, but wont admit it." Kirishima shrugged, but instantly froze- did he... just...
"Wait wait, like Tokoyami? He has a crush on me?" Alice felt her entire face heat up and she hid into her hood to keep the male from seeing it. She didnt think anyone would like her like that. Hell, she hadnt even thought about dating anyone at this school up until now. Alice had been so caught up with training that her social life had tanked. Dating seemed like an impossible idea.
"You really didnt know?" Kirishima turned slightly to look down at the smaller girl.
"No!" Alice glanced up at him with a guilty expression. "I thought we were just friends. I mean, Im affectionate with people Im close with." She motioned between them. Kirishima was holding her bag and she was holding his arm instead of the bar above them.
The male rolled his eyes, "Yeah. Ive been trying to convince him to ask you out for awhile, but he's got this weird oath about not dating during his stay at UA." Kirishima tried to crack a smile. "I have harassed him more than once, but he wont give. Sorry if thats a let down."
"No no! I appreciate you telling me. Im not the most... socially aware person. So I will not get it unless someone is up front. I do like Tokoyami and would be down to date him if he didnt have his oath. He's super sweet and we click really well." Alice puffed her cheek. That went from exciting to lame in sixty seconds.
"Do you like anyone aside from Tokoyami?" Kirishima rose a brow and tested his luck. He wasnt sure if Alice would admit it to anyone.
Alice felt her cheeks flush faintly and she tilted her head in thought. "Uh, not many. Uraraka is extremely pretty and I guess Bakugo? He's not awful to be around compared to some people."
"Awh, you dont like me that way?" Kirishima teased slightly. "Im insulted." He wasnt really. He liked Alice and got along with her extremely well, but truthfully he didnt have a crush on her. The fact she liked Uraraka was a curious statement, but he was more focused on the fact she said Bakugo.
Alice waved her hands and then gripped his arm as the train screeched to a stop again and the pair headed towards the exit. "Its totally not like that! You are one of the first guys that I dont have to feel weird about being affectionate with. I can lean on you and depend on you to relax. You dont make it weird..." She trailed off, looking nervous.
Kirishima ruffled her hair, "Im teasing you. I feel the same way. Its not forced. Its natural. Its the same way I feel about Bakugo and Denki. Im glad we both have that understanding tho." He grinned and grabbed the door for her at the Agency. "BUT! We will be talking more about this crush you have on Bakubro. Im not gonna let that go."
