"I've done all I can do. I'm afraid all that's left now is to wait." Vixen says as she comes out of the den where Alexis and the others are waiting.
"Thank you Vixen." Alexis says.
"You can go in and see him if you want but I'd keep in mind he's hurt pretty bad." Vixen says as Alexis nods.
"I know." Alexis says as she looks down sadly.
"I still can't believe he saved you. After everything." Fang says as he goes up to Alexis.
"Not everyone is cruel Fang. Shadow saved my life." Alexis says as she looks at Fang.
"I know. It's just a surprise I guess." Fang says as Alexis goes inside the den and sees Shados laying down motionless with bandages all over his sides and back.
"Oh Shadow I'm so sorry. I wish I could of acted sooner. I should have acted sooner. I don't know if you can hear me but I'm so sorry. I forgive you for everything. Please. You have to make it. You just have to... I love you." Alexis says as she lays down beside Shadow and places her head against his sadly.
"Well don't just stop there beautiful. It's just getting good." A voice says revealing to be Shadow as Alexis sees he is awake.
"Shadow! You're okay! I thought I lost you." Alexis says happily as she nuzzles Shadow before sitting up.
"Never. So you really do love me?" Shadow says as he manages to sit up.
"Yeah. Even if you can be a pain sometimes." Alexis says as she smiles playfully.
"Ouch. But you love me anyway." Shadow says as he chuckles.
"Yes. I do love you." Alexis says.
"Yuck. Does that mean you two are gonna be mates now?" A voice asks revealing to be Fang as he and the others come into the den.
"Well..." Shadow says shyly as he looks down while blushing.
"It would be suiting considering an alpha female is not without a good male to rule beside her dear." Meteora says as she smiles.
"Yeah Fang. We are gonna be mates. I love him." Alexis says as she smiles at Shadow.
"And I love you Alexis." Shadow says as he smiles at Alexis.
*Timeskip 18 Years*
"Aww come on mom. It's time for us to go hunt already." An four year old brown and white male earth wolf says as he and a two year female tan and white sand wolf walk up.
"Okay, okay. I'm coming Echo. Just wait with your sister Nova a bit longer. We still gotta wait for your brother, sisters, Fang and father to get back." Alexis says as she chuckles while going over to the two wolves.
"I don't wanna go hunt yet. I wanna hear a story first. Hunting is no fun." Nova says grumpily.
"I know you don't like it Nova but it's important that you all learn early. Besides it's just field practice today. Nothing major so we won't be gone all evening." Alexis says as she smiles at Nova.
"Yeah sis. It's all in good practice." Echo says as he chuckles at an annoyed Nova.
"Hey beautiful." A voice says revealing to be Shadow as he comes walking over.
"Shadow. Took your time I see." Alexis says as she goes over and nuzzles Shadow.
"Yeah. My back is kinda acting up again. Gonna have to go see Vixen this evening." Shadow says.
"Well good thing we're taking it easy today huh?" Alexis asks as she smiles.
"Yeah." Shadow says as he smiles.
"Blaze where are you sisters River and Dawn?" Alexis asks as she sees a twelve year old black and red male moon wolf walk over.
"We're coming." Blaze says.
"Right here mom." An sixteen year old female white water wolf says as she walks over.
"Nice of you to join us River. You as well Dawn. Why weren't you three with your father?" Alexis asks.
"Don't worry. We were just taking out time walking." An eight year old dark brown, light brown and white female earth wolf
"I see. Well anyway did you kids have fun on patrol with your father today?" Alexis asks.
"Yeah mom. I love getting to go with you and dad doing these things. But then again I will be taking over the territory when I'm older so it's my responsibility." River says.
"Why do we have to go with dad on patrol again?" Blaze asks.
"Rather us have stayed and helped mom babysit Nova and Echo?" Dawn asks.
"Nope." Blaze says as Alexis chuckles.
"Morning leader." A voice says revealing to be Fang as he walks over.
"Morning Fang. Got everything set up for the kids advanced hunting lesson?" Alexis asks.
"Yep. Meteora, Rani and I are almost done. We'll see you guys in a bit." Fang says.
"Well done Fang. Really coming into that new beta position." Alexis says proudly as Fang blushes.
"Heh. Well I learned from the best." Fang says as he smiles.
"Well be there in a little while Fang. Thank you." Alexis says.
"Not a problem." Fang says as he runs off.
"Aww mom do we have to go right now?" Nova asks.
"Yeah. I wanna hear one of dad's stories." Dawn says.
"Or yours mom." Blaze says.
"Tell us a story." River says as she smiles.
"Come now pups. Fang is waiting on us." Alexis says as the pups groan disappointedly.
"I'm sure he can wait a bit. If the pups really want a story I guess we could spare a little while." Shadow says as he smiles.
"Shadow." Alexis says as she smiles at Shadow.
"Don't worry it won't take long." Shadow says.
"Oh okay." Alexis says as she chuckles giving in.
"We wanna hear an adventurous one this time dad." Echo says excitedly.
"Oh so you kids want adventure huh? Well how about I tell you the story of how your mom and I met?" Shadow asks.
"You've already told us that one." Dawn says.
"But you kids didn't hear all of it. There's parts we left out because we felt you kids wouldn't wanna hear it." Alexis says as she sits beside Shadow.
"Tell us!" The pups shout excitedly as Alexis and Shadow smile at each other.
"Okay, okay. So this is the story of how our pack came to be. The Pack of Outsiders." Shadow says.
