Alas, two icons return

Chapter Two

An Unexpected Reunion

Oregon (10:30 PM)

On a dark dusty highway, engraved in the Southeastern mountain range of Oregon, a 1970 Mustang Mach 1 drove. It had a Denim blue paint job, with dual stripes from head to tail, white as ice. With the power and speed of a thousand horses, this Mustang raced through the mountainside, quickly wrapping around a bend, and heading into a stretch of road. The Mustang sped through the southeastern border of Gravity Falls, a valley that rested along four mountain ranges. The driver inside the Vehicle was a lonesome man named Manny Pines, the twenty-two year old Doctorate, who graduated from high school when he was just fourteen years old, and is now fresh out of university down south. He was happy though, because he is finally coming back to the place he knew he belonged to, the real home in his heart, Gravity Falls, where everybody knew him as Dipper Pines.

He wore black timberlands, black jeans, with a white T-shirt, as well as a Black and blue plaid hoodie. Perched atop his head was a Denim blue and white Pinetree hat that he got from his long deceased Great Uncle Stan, who died the same year Dipper and his Sister, Mabel, stopped coming to gravity falls, the same year that they moved to New York City. He spent the next fifteen minutes driving down the central highway, which ran through the heart of Oregon, one of the most Beautiful states in America. Dipper carefully Sped through long bends, and slowed at sharp curves, and often would race down mile long stretches of highway, with nothing around him Except for the tall cliffs, and lovely pine trees. Around the second to last bend, the Highway began to go uphill, into the mountain. The Highway led Dipper through a tunnel. On the other side of the tunnel was a long stretch of road barely half a mile in length, going down hill. On this stretch of road, you could see over the whole Valley in the daylight, but since it was almost eleven at night, all Dipper could see were small sources of light, spewed across town like little drops of water. He drove through the stretch of road, and through the tortuitous bends that ran back down the mountain.

He drove around one last bend, and was greeted by the Dusk 2 Dawn convenience store, where he once saw his sister get possessed by a scary old ghost. Remembering that gave him chills, as he drove on down the Highway, now narrowed down into a normal town Road. About a mile after the convenience store was the Gravity Falls Creek Bridge, which ran over the creek of gravity falls. The Bridge was just over half a mile away from the hangout spot that he and his best friend Wendy Corduroy would go to. Dipper always thought about Wendy, the one he fell in love with so long ago. He remembered her fiery red hair, and her cool manner. He wonders what she'll think when she eventually sees him, and how grown he is now. He continued down Central, and came to a fork in the road. One side went slightly to the left, and turned into Main street, while the other formed back into a highway that would lead you out of the valley, out of Gravity Falls as a whole.

Dipper turned left and continued down Main street, Finally reaching a destination: Greasy's Diner, home to the best Waffles in this part of the west coast. The Diner was built out of an old Redwood Tree-trunk, and was attached to a run down Flat train car that had Gravity Falls 1883 engraved into the side of it. Along the front side of the building were Four windows, and an entrance at each end of the Diner, which had stairs that led down to a path, taking you to the only cement on the property, the Sidewalk that shot across the front of the diner. There was a lamp post on one end of the Sidewalk, illuminating a light orange, with an electrical wire that was attached to the diner. A white sign was hanging on the Streetlight that said EAT in big red capital letters. Another bigger sign was perched on the roof of the Diner, and it said Greasy's Diner in the same format. The sign had a smaller slogan that simply said: We Have Food, stuck to the bottom. And, the sign had an arrow pointing back at it. The Arrow was brown, and had seven LED light bulbs illuminating orange from it.

Pulling up to the diner, Dipper was shocked when he found the small blue Chevy Pickup Truck, as well as the white and brown Station Wagon, parked in the same spot all these years. He carefully parked the Mustang beside the Station Wagon, and got out of the car. Dipper looked down at the loose gravel Parking lot of the Diner. He looked around, there was a bit of a fog tonight, and it was dark outside. Dipper looked past the Diner, at the hundred foot Pine Trees, and could swear he heard the hoot of an owl. He closed his eyes, and breathed in, sniffing the air in the process. Dipper smiled when the familiar scent of pine needle and dirt came to him, he really was home now. He couldn't wait to see the others again, after eight long years.

Dipper continued to smile, as he started walking up to the Diner. The minute he opened the door, his body was overwhelmed by the fond smell of Pancakes, and the bright colors that awaited him inside. Dipper felt warm and tingly, almost like he was relaxing on the Santa Cruz beach. He stepped into the diner and turned a corner. The inside of the Diner looked bigger than it should be. From Dipper's point of View, there was a cafe counter to his right, six feet away from him, with a pie oven next to it. The counter had eight stools lined up next to it, three of which were occupied. Two waitresses stood behind the counter, working with the three customers. One was a young woman, maybe in her early thirties. She had buck teeth, and red hair tied up in Pig-Tails. The other woman looked closer to Dipper's age, if not younger. She looked familiar to him too, but he couldn't figure out who exactly she was. The Waitress had long blond hair tied up in a ponytail, and had eyes the color of the Sky. he shook this feeling off and looked to his left, where several empty booths sat. At the very end of the Diner was a Manliness tester, which tested your strength, and a jukebox that was playing an Elton John track.

He grinned and started to walk down the five foot wide aisle, Right as the other five in front of Dipper turned to see him, surprised to see him. Meanwhile Pacifica Northwest looked up from her notepad, and saw Dipper walk by her. She watched him sit down in the last booth, facing the wall with the Manliness Tester and Jukebox, and went back to work. Dipper took his hat off, and placed it beside him. He looked out the window while he waited for a waitress, just as fond old memories from his long forgotten past resurfaced.

June of 2013

"So, how was Eighth grade, Dude"? Wendy asked Dipper, as she sat down beside him. The twins had been in gravity falls for almost a week now, and with Soos running the shack with Mabel and some new employees, Wendy has been taking Dipper out with her. They'd mainly hang out on an abandoned railway bridge on the outskirts of town, near the Creek of Gravity Falls. In fact they were on that bridge right now, sitting, facing the west, with their feet dangling twenty feet above ground. Sometimes, Wendy's other friends Nate, Lee, Thompson, Tambry, and Robby, would join them. To their left is the Gravity Falls golf course, Ye Royal Discount Putt Hutt, Where Dipper and Mabel joined forces with Mabel's bully turned friend Pacifica, and they engaged in a petty war against the Lilliputians. The Lilliputians were these small Humanoid golf balls, split into eighteen factions that were already fighting with each other, Dipper, Mabel, and Pacifica were only in the crossfire.

To Dipper and Wendy's right was Circle Park, where the town's infamous water tower was, standing in the middle of the park, and standing at a height of just Fifty feet. It still had a hole in it from when Dipper, and his Great Uncle Ford, had accidentally crashed an alien Security Droid into it. Circle Park was also the place where Dipper and Robby had gotten into a near-fight, because Robby was a big asshole and challenged Dipper, who was almost half Robby's height. Then when Dipper let Robby beat him down, he backed off. Wendy had come in after that, and she could tell that they were about to fight, even though they hid it from her, and they still hid it from her. Now, however, Robby has changed, he's nothing like he was the year before, maybe it's because of weirdmageddon.

"Well". Dipper said, before grabbing his Pitt-Cola, and sipping it. "I've managed to ace my grades, and not get bullied". He said, Sipping his soda. "And i'll be skipping the first three years of high-school too, that's something, eh". He remarked, nudging Wendy, who nodded, and grabbed her soda. Dipper rested his palm against the back of his neck, and began to chuckle, "it's funny, I could be potentially starting my Freshman year in college the same year you'll be starting your senior year of high-school". He said through snorted chuckles, causing Wendy to slug him in his shoulder. After a minute, Dipper stopped laughing, and began to look like he did before, Distant, far from here, far from Wendy, who took note of this.

"Got any plans for College, man"? She asked him, looking at his brown eyes, which shone a golden color in the setting of the sun. The brown eyes locked in with the emerald eyes, and for a moment, Dipper didn't know what to say. He shrugged and looked back to the west.

"Maybe UCLA". He answered, before finishing his can of soda. He continued to stare off into the sunset, with his conflicted thoughts. He had recently received a text from his parents, saying that they were moving east in the Fall. Where exactly, Dipper didn't know. Nobody knew but him, he doesn't even know whether Mabel knew about this or not. Dipper Knew, however, that by doing this, the twins will have to say goodbye to Gravity Falls, and Dipper would have to leave Wendy, his best friend, the greatest love he'll never have. Dipper's parents will have a good reason though, but he won't find out until the end of summer. Dipper's scared, because Gravity Falls was like a better home to him. He looked at Wendy, and sighed deeply, before standing up, and heading back towards circle park. The last thing he wanted was for Wendy to find out, Dipper felt that this terrible news would destroy her. "C'mon, let's get out of here". He said as he walked off.

Wendy got up and followed after him. Yep, something is totally bothering him, she thought halfway off the bridge. It was true though, she could definitely tell there was something wrong with Dipper. She frowned though, because she couldn't think of anything that could bother her young friend. Then, she shrugged it off, thinking that Dipper was just Worried about his uncles, who were still out at sea. The older two were not set to be in Portland until the third of next month, and since they're at an old age, Dipper was probably thinking that, but he was actually thinking otherwise. Unbeknownst to Wendy, Dipper tried to shake off the thought of not being able to see her Forever. An idea came to Wendy, who was still partially behind Dipper. She walked up to him, and wrapped her arm around his shoulder. This action caused Dipper to Blush, and for Wendy to grin. How Adorable, she thought. "I have, like, a totally cool idea, Dude". She said coolly. She smiled at Dipper, who blushed even more. "What if I took you to Greasy's, Dip"? She asked, holding her fist up. "C'mon, Dip, don't leave me hanging man". She said, making Dipper think of something that happened back last year. He loved her then, and he continued to love her now, so he accepted the offer.

"I'm down". He said, bumping fists with Wendy, who continued to smile that beautiful smile she had, she was perfect. Her emerald eyes met Dipper, who was on another planet at this point. But, doing this one simple thing made him think again about leaving, and how he'll have to solidify his love for her once again, before the summer ends. Dipper's blush began to fade, right after Wendy had released her grasp on him. They continued along the abandoned Railroad, which ran through the heart of Circle Park. They walked through the trees, and found themselves in the meadow, where you could lay down and see a night sky full of stars. At the very end of the Park, there was a parking lot that, just like the Diner, was unpaved, and filled with dirt and rock. The two entered the lot, and walked up to the far left corner of it, where a green 1968 Cadillac Convertible was parked. Wendy pulled out a set of keys out of her flannel pocket, while Dipper stepped over to the passenger side, getting in.

Wendy got in the Convertible, and started the engine. She pulled out of the parking space, turned around, and drove towards the exit. While driving through the lot, she pulled a cassette tape out, and slipped it in the mouth of the Radio. She then pressed a button on the Radio, and turned the volume up, before a Guitar melody started playing. The melody was joined by a flute tune, which caught Dipper's attention. The whistling of the flute matched the strumming of the guitar. He'd never heard this song before, and now he's enjoying every second of it. He listened as the voice of an angel began singing. Meanwhile, Wendy leaves the lot, turning left on Circle drive, which leads back into town. Wendy glanced at Dipper, who was in his own little world, and smiled. She loved it when he was happy, he was calm yet energetic, something Wendy never understood. She made a slight left at the end of the road, before turning onto Main street.

Dipper turned to face Wendy when a thought came to mind. "H-hey Wendy. . ." he grasped the back of his neck again, ". . .were you planning on going to college"? He asked, looking at her. Wendy continued to stare at the road, but gave a small shrug in reply.

"I dunno Dip". she answered, "i want to go to Oregon State, but-". She paused, and looked at Dipper, who was looking at her, "there's just something holding me back here". She said, continuing to look at him for another five seconds, before turning her head, he was oblivious with what she was going for.

"Maybe it's the town, I mean, I wish I could stay here, y'know, long term". He said wisely, even though he made a distressed look after the last part. Wendy saw this and took note, with a thousand questions flooding her mind. She kept asking herself stuff like if this was connected to the behavior he had earlier on, or if Dipper was leaving. Even though on the inside, she was worrying about her friend, she kept a calm and relaxed composure. The last thing she wanted to do was overwhelm Dipper, who could get anxious really fast. After driving for another half a mile, Wendy pulled into the dirt lot of Greasy's. She quickly parked between the pickup truck, and the station wagon, her tires rubbing against the loose gravel, kicking up a cloud of dirt. Dipper and Wendy got out of the convertible, and walked up to the back entrance, and were surprised to see how empty the diner was. The cafe was half full, and only one booth was being occupied. The recipients of that Booth were Wendy's two friends Tambry and Robbie, who saw the two pull up and walk inside. Robbie actually got up, and walked over to greet them.

"Hey Wendy, how's it going Dipper"? He said when he got up to them. "Come sit with us". He said, turning around and gesturing for them to follow. He led them back to his and tambry's booth, where they sat on one side, while tambry and robbie sat on the other side, facing them. After about ten minutes of waiting, Lazy Susan, the head Waitress, appeared.

"Good evening kids". She said, pulling out her notepad, and a pencil. "What can I get for you four tonight"? She asked. Wendy ordered a Burger, Dipper ordered a small stack of Pancakes, Robbie ordered steak special, and Tambry didn't order anything. Lazy Susan wrote all of these orders down, and walked back into the kitchen. As they were waiting, Wendy, Robbie, and Tambry began talking with each other. Wendy asked where the others were, and tambry had answered, saying that the rest of the group were at the High School, painting graffiti to prank the staff members. Meanwhile Dipper stared off into space, he looked so out of it, you would think he was stoned. Eventually, he turned his head, and looked out the window, where the emerald car he was just in not fifteen minutes ago, was parked. He didn't know how long he stared out the window for. Then. . . . .he blinked once, and was back in the Present. Tambry and Robbie weren't sitting in front of him, and Wendy wasn't beside him. He looked outside, and it was fully dark, there wasn't a green Cadillac, no, but there was a blue Mustang, his Mustang.

"Sir, Sir! Are you gonna order, or just sit there"? A vaguely familiar woman's voice came from beside him. He turned in the direction of this voice, and saw the blonde haired Waitress he had walked by not twenty minutes ago. She was looking down at him, her blue eyes chilling his spine. He hesitated, as she had looked familiar, but who exactly was she? Dipper looked at her nametag, and to his shock and realization, he finally figured out who she was, Mabel's bully turned friend Pacifica Northwest.

"Sure Paz, i'll take a coffee with extra cream, and two pumps of creamer". He answered sarcastically, smiling at the confused look plastered on Pacifica's face. She looked down on him, examining his brown eyes, brown hair, the peachy face. Dipper realized that she was starting to see the resemblance between him now, and the Dipper she'd remember from almost ten years ago. She still couldn't recognize him though.

"Have I seen you before"? She asked Dipper, who grinned, and grabbed his hat, before slipping it on his head.

"I dunno, have you"? He asked when he put the hat on. Pacifica examined the hat, and immediately recognized the Blue Pinetree. No, he'd never come back, would he? She asked herself, Her body filled with adrenaline and shock.

"You're back". Pacifica said in a low voice that Dipper could barely hear. She felt light headed, and almost fell backwards. Dipper jumped up and caught her before she could, and she hugged Dipper, after all these years. "I began thinking I would never see you guys again". She said when they finished their little hug.

"Well. . ." Dipper sat back down and gestured to the other booth across from him, ". . .wanna sit down and we could catch up"? He asked her.

Pacifica sighed and looked down at him, "sure, but could you give me twenty more minutes"? She asked, and he nodded. An idea came to her after that, "tell you what, i'll see if susie will let me cook something for you". She told him.

"That would be nice". Dipper started, "I haven't eaten anything in almost ten hours". He explained, and almost as if on cue, his stomach began grumbling. Pacifica pulled out her pen and note-pad, opening up, and clicking the pen.

"What would you like, Dip"? She asked, glancing at him. Dipper thought for a moment before answering.

"I'll take two large pancakes, and that coffee with the extra creamer and the two pumps of espresso". He told Pacifica, who wrote the order down, and walked away. Dipper watched as she walked behind the Cafe counter, and disappeared through the door into the kitchen. He then rested his head against the soft fabric of the Booth seat, sighed, and waited. In the twenty minutes that followed, Pacifica cooked the pancakes and made the coffee. She told Lazy Susan, who was the only manager working tonight, that they had a special guest. The older woman walked out into the diner, and, just like Pacifica, was surprised to see one of the Mystery Twins sitting before her. She sat down and talked with him for ten minutes, before going back into the kitchen. Five minutes after Lazy Susan left, Pacifica walked back out with Dipper's food. She walked back to his booth, and gave the food to him, before walking off to change and clock out of her shift.

Dipper started eating, feeling the burst of flavor when he took the first bite. He was nearly three quarters finished with the pancakes, when Pacifica walked back out, and sat down in the booth in front of him. She went into her thoughts, and let Dipper finish eating. When he was done, there was silence for five minutes, then he spoke up: "So, what have you been up to in the past ten years"?

Pacifica looked down and thought, before sighing, and looking up to answer. "Well. . .after Weirdmageddon, my parents ran away, abandoning me". She said, sniffling, "I was sent down to Los Angeles to live with my grandma". Pacifica explained, she smiled at the thought of her grandma, who, unlike her parent's, actually cared for Pacifica, and never treated her like an animal. She respected her grandma, who never lied and cheated to get wealthy, another issue she had with her parents, in fact her grandma was the most honest person you'd come across, more honest than Dipper. "Yeah, while I was down there, I went to school, and made real friends". She said, then looked at Dipper, who gave her the pouty face. "I-i mean like real friends, not like the friends i had here before you and Mabel came into the picture". She said, receiving a genuine laugh from Dipper.

"I'm just kidding, man". He said, gesturing for her to continue.

"Anyway, I lived with my grandma for the next five years, then she. . .", Pacifica paused for a minute, and tried to keep from crying, she didn't want to cry, especially now, ". . .my grandma passed away from a brain aneurysm at the age of seventy-five". She finished, and sniffled.

"Sorry to hear that". Dipper said gently, as he began to think of what she just said. "Wait, so is that why me and Mabel never got to see you back in 2013, because you were with your grandma". He asked her curiously, because it was true, when the twins came back for their second summer, Pacifica really was nowhere to be seen. "When did you decide to come back to Gravity Falls"? He asked, wondering just how long since she initially returned.

"About three and a half to four years ago". She said, sighing deeply, before continuing, "When I turned eighteen, I got my grandma's inheritance, which consisted of her house, and her fortune". She explained, "when i got the inheritance, i decided to use half the fortune, and turn her mansion into an orphanage, before moving up here". She stopped and looked out the window, "when i came back, i heard that you guys haven't been around, and i decided to work at the shack". She finished, and Dipper widened his eyes.

"Really"? He asked in sudden surprise, she nodded, and looked down. "B-but I thought Ford closed down the attraction after Stan. . ." he trailed off, and sadly looked back out the window.

"From what Wendy has told me". She started, getting Dipper's attention, "Yeah, Ford did close the Shack to the public, but after two years. . ." she trailed off, and thought, ". .i believe Wendy said something about Ford and Soos making an agreement on continuing his legacy". She finished after a moment of thinking.

"Wendy still works at the Shack"!? Dipper asked in surprise, feeling his temperature rise. Pacifica face-palmed, and nodded.

"Yeah". Paz answered, "she's been working there since before i came back", She explained to him, "how long exactly. . .", Pacifica shrugged, ". . .beats me". She finished, and smiled, "What about you, Dipper, what have you been doing"?

"Me and Mabel came back in 2013, and stayed for the summer". He said, frowning, "then we. .moved". He explained, still frowning, "yeah, to New York City, where I was able to skip the first three years of high-school". He continued, the frown slowly disappeared, and was replaced with a smile. "After I graduated with a GPA of 4.0, at the age of Fourteen-".

"Nerd". Pacifica remarked.

Dipper took a deep breath, before continuing,". . .I migrated west and went to Stanford university, where I've been the last seven years, earning my Doctorate's degree". He finished, and Pacifica nodded intriguingly.

"Dr. Pines, that actually sticks". She complemented, and Dipper grinned.

"So, how are things going here"? Dipper asked, wondering just how much of the town has really changed.

"Surprisingly, nothing much has happened here since i got back". Pacifica answered, "well, except that Mcgucket's gone, and so is Manly Dan". she said, beginning to count off her fingers, "i think the only issue with the town is that there are Dinosaurs that roam the forest now". She finished, surprising Dipper with this new information he never knew about. He wasn't surprised with mcgucket's death, but Manly Dan, Wendy's father, Dipper couldn't imagine what she must've been going through. Dipper was nervous when he heard the last part though, because of something that happened with him during the first summer. Hearing about these dinosaurs made him ponder on whether they're the same ones from the caverns that he ventured into oh so long ago. They were stuck in Blocks of amber, and now that Dipper thought of it, the Amber was melting. Dipper started stroking his beard, which was short and silky like his long brown hair. "Something on your mind, Dip"? Pacifica asked when she noticed his face, which seemed distress.

Dipper shook his head, and continued to stroke his beard. He stared down at his dinner plate, while contemplating his thoughts. "Nah, just remembering something that i've witnessed here back in 2012". He said, loosening the frown. Dipper stood up, and grabbed his hoodie, as well as his hat, which he slipped on his head for the second time that night. "Welp, I think i'm gonna call it a night". he announced, looking at the time, and seeing that it was almost one o'clock in the morning. "Jesus"! He exclaimed.

Pacifica started to stand up, "I'll walk out with you". She told him, smiling. Dipper shrugged and began walking off towards the front end of the Diner. Pacifica followed suit, walking after him, and struck with a cold breeze that you'd rarely ever get in California. They walked down the steps, and Dipper led Pacifica over to the Mustang. "Damn, Dipper". Pacifca said when she saw the older car, even though it looked fresh and new, this car had to be worth a hundred grand at least.

"Oh you like it"? He asked, smirking at her, "I've been working on this beast since I was sixteen, it's fully restored and everything". He finished, sounding arrogant with every word, classic Dipper, always sounding so stubborn, Pacifica thought, and chuckled. Dipper got in the car, and revved up the engine. He then turned the radio on, and changed it to the radio station, tuning into Journey's Wheel in the Sky. Pacifica leaned on the driver side door, just as Dipper rolled his window down.

"I'm gonna be at the Shack tomorrow from twelve to six". She informed, getting a tired nod in response, followed by a tired yawn.

"Okay, well I'll be at the Inn for tonight". He said exhaustedly. Pacifica stood upright, allowing Dipper to pull out of the space, and leave the lot. They bidded farewell, and Dipper exitted the lot. He turned Right, heading west. As Dipper drove down Central, going towards one side of town, he passed a green Cadillac Convertible, not thinking much of it. After another five blocks, Dipper turned left into the Gravity Falls Inn, and parked close to the entrance. He stepped out of the Mustang, and Walked inside the lobby. He rented a room on the third floor, and instead of collecting his belongings, he walked up to his room. Dipper was so tired that the second he set his head on the pillow, he was out cold.

The Next Day

At about ten o'clock, on the morning of the 16th, Wendy was riding her '22 Indian Scout, with a plaid backpack on her back. She was driving up Central North, and Turned on Industrial, a long stretch of road that eventually led up to the road that went down to the Shack. She rode the Bike along a train track, just as a passenger train came down the track. The road led to a crossroad, where she crossed. Then Wendy kept left at the fork, continuing down Industrial. She came up to a horseshoe bend, and turned onto Flat Creek Court, a dirt road that led up to, and around the Mystery Shack. There were a row of parking spaces outside the area of the gift shop, with one space reserved for Wendy, and had been for the last five years. She put the kickstand down, and turned the bike off, before getting up off of it. Wendy smiled as she looked up at the roof, where she saw Soos painting the sign the colors for halloween.

"Morning Soos". Wendy called out as she walked up the steps, before entering the Gift Shop, and flipping the sign on the door from closed to open. She walked over to the counter where the cash register was at, and sat down behind it. She took her backpack off, opened it, and began grabbing things out of it, like her phone charger, and bottle of iced coffee. Wendy also pulled out the latest Issue of TMNT: The Last Ronin. In this Issue, she'll find out how Splinter and Donnatello die, at the hands of Oroku Hiroto, the deranged grandson of Oroku Saki, who the Turtles knew as the Shredder. She set the comic on the counter, and turned the register on, then she opened her coffee, and took a decent sip. Wendy grabbed the comic after that, leaned back on the chair, and began reading it. She spent the next half an hour reading the comic, waiting for Customers to come in. Soos would walk in now and then, changing out the paint cans.

At roughly eleven o'clock, she felt a low rumbling, and heard a loud noise. Outside, on the rooftop, Soos heard the loud growl of a car engine, which was coming closer to the shack, getting louder and louder. He looked at the road, where it turned and disappeared into the tree line, just as an old school Mustang, painted in a denim blue with white stripes, came into view. Soos shrugged, thinking it was a tourist, and went back to painting, just as Wendy went back to reading. The Mustang ended its journey when it came to a stop beside Wendy's black and green Indian. Then the driver side door opened, and a young man wearing black jeans, black timberlands, and a white T-shirt, stepped out. He stretched his arms, and glanced at Soos, who was finishing up the sign by now. The young man then walked up the steps, and entered the Shop.

And the first thing Dipper noticed was Wendy who was sitting at the register. To his surprise, she was reading a Comicbook. "Gee Corduroy, i didn't know you were a Comic reader". He said to her, smiling. That voice, why does it sound so familiar, wendy thought, But it's different, more deeper. Looking up from the sad tale, she noticed the young man standing by the door, and recognized the boy she fell in love with, who was all grown up now.

"Dipper"!? She exclaimed, and he gently nodded. Dipper began walking over to the counter, but Wendy was fast to react. She jumped up, and ran to him, meeting Dipper in the middle. Wendy embraced him, hugging him tightly. Dipper felt a mixture of inner heat, and outer pain. When they were released from each other, Dipper got a good look at her.

"Wow". he began, grinning, "you haven't changed one bit". He finished. Wendy hadn't really changed, she still had her phoenix hair, which went down past her waist, and her skin was still whiter than the clouds, and she had freckles splattered all over her face like the stars of the night sky. Her eyes were as green as the emerald city, and she wore her signature green and black plaid shirt, with a gun-metal gray tank-top underneath. But she now wore baggy gray jeans, instead of the blue skinny jeans she used to wear. And she had a newer pair of boots on, these ones were black, with emerald green undertones.

"Yeah". She said, stroking her right bicep. "Some habit's stuck with me". She grabbed the comic, "while others are newer". She flipped through the pages and looked at Dipper, who still had a baby face, with facial hair to go with it. It looked like he had a short silky beard, and a thin brown mustache. His hair was now long and silky, and his hat was missing. She could see Dipper's Adams Apple sticking out of his throat, and noticed the significant difference between now and when she last saw him, his height. Dipper was now taller than Wendy, at a height of five feet, and nine inches, all from a growth spurt Dipper had in his freshman year at Stanford.

"How long has it been", Wendy began, smiling at Dipper, "Since i last saw you"? She finished looking at him, it's been a long while, and Wendy couldn't help but think of him every day since then.

"It's been roughly eight years now". He said, looking down at her, "going on nine". He finished.

"What have you been doing"? She asked curiously, and when it came to Dipper, she was always curious with what he had to say. Dipper was smart, and no matter how dorky he thought he was, Wendy always thought he was a cool kid. In fact if it wasn't for Dipper, Wendy would have never taken the apprenticeship with Ford, who was getting up to that age where he can't do much more.

"Well". He paused and looked at her, eye to eye, ". . .i've been at school". He explained, "and I just graduated from Stanford in June, with a Doctorate's degree". He told her, smiling at the widening of her eyes. He turned around and looked at the shelves, loaded with stock. He didn't see anymore Pinetree hats, but a row of Denim blue beanies, with a white pine tree stitched onto each one. He wanted to retire the old hat, so he walked over to where they were hanging, and grabbed one. "How much"? He asked, turning to face her.

"On the house". Wendy answered, before walking behind the counter. "It's good to have you back, Dipper". She finished, just as Soos walked through the door, hearing the last bit.

"Yo, dawg, you say somethin' about Dipper"? He asked Wendy, noticing the young man standing at one side. Dipper walked back towards the counter, putting the beanie on. He looked at Soos, who seemed more mature. He still wore a green t-shirt, with a question mark on it, but now he wore work shoes, and cargo pants. He had an empty can of orange paint in one hand, and a dried up paintbrush in the other. Oh, I've got to mess with him, Dipper thought.

"Yeah, she was just saying how much she missed me". Dipper stated, smirking at Soos, who made a look of confusion. Gotcha, he thought. He noticed how Soos looked rather slim, and muscular. "Wow Soos, have you been working out"? He asked, confusing Soos even more. Wendy, who was blushing, and quietly chuckling, decided to intervene. She walked in front of Dipper, and looked at the other man beside her.

"Dude, Soos". She said, and Soos faced her, "It's just Dipper, man". She told him calmly, smiling again. Soos looked at Dipper again, and actually saw Dipper. He recognized him as the young tween he once knew, only he was now closer to Soos' height of six feet, and had a voice that was deep and smooth, not high-pitched and cracking with each word.

"Oh my bad, hambone, I barely recognized you dawg". Soos apologized, then they did their secret handshake, which solidified the friendship they had. "Welcome back". He finished, before walking off, disappearing through a door, which led into the inner part of the house, leaving Wendy and Dipper to themselves.

"So. . how long are you staying, man"? Wendy asked, and Dipper shrugged.

"Let's just say my tourist status won't need a renewal any time soon". He answered, grinning from ear to ear.

"Wait, does that mean what I think it means"? She asked him, and his smile faded, he was thinking. "Are you moving into town"? She asked happily, and he nodded. This was something she'd been wanting to hear for a long time now, the news that the twins were coming here to stay, not just for the Summer, but for way longer than that.

"There's just something about this town". Dipper began, his smile slowly coming back up. "That's always made me attracted to it". He explained, looking deep into Wendy's eyes. "I don't know what it is though". He finished, breaking away from the stare, he looked around again, and glanced out the Window, just as a white minivan came out of the tree line. "Hey Wendy, where's Ford at"? He asked, just as the old man in question came into the shop from the house. He was wearing a red turtleneck with a black belt slung across one side of his chest, under a tan trench coat. He wore black pants, and bulky brown heel boots, with what looked like mud on the toes. Ford wore square shaped glasses, with a crack in one of the lenses, and had lighter hair then when Dipper last saw him. The old man walked over to Wendy, who was leaning on the counter, and began talking.

"Morning, Wendy, could I borrow you for a few hours after closing"? He asked her, oblivious to Dipper who was standing further away, and Didn't even know Ford was in the room until then.

"Sure". Wendy answered, "what's going down tonight"? She asked him.

"I want to go to CSO, and collect more parts". He explained, catching Dipper's ear. He knew what Ford was talking about, Crash Site Omega, an alien spaceship that crash landed millions of years ago, forming the valley of Gravity Falls. Ford always pondered on the subject of whether it was the large aircraft that created the supernatural side of the valley, or was it the supernatural side of the valley that caused the ship to crash down, like visitors from heaven. It was a question Dipper may never find an answer for. He walked back over to the counter, and joined the other two, as Ford continued talking. "Since I'm old, I could use the extra strength". He told her.

"So you'll need my help getting parts"? She asked, and he nodded in defeat. "Sure thing, when do you want to leave"? She finished, and Ford looked at the clock that hung over the door frame, which said Eleven Thirty on it. He then furrowed one eyebrow, and rubbed his scruffy chin hairs.

"Around six". He answered with thought. "I could get the bronco and trailer out of the Garage later". He finished, before starting his exit, but Wendy stopped him. She grabbed Dipper, and pulled him closer to her.

"Hey Ford". She said, and he turned around again to look at her, noticing the younger one beside her. "Is it alright if Dipper comes"? She asked.

"Of course". Ford answered obliviously, "I guess we could use the extra-. . .", he trailed off as Realization hit. "Wait, did you just say Dipper"? He asked, walking back to them. He saw Dipper looking at him with his light brown eyes. Dipper took his hand, and gently pushed his bangs back, revealing his birthmark that was shaped like the Big Dipper constellation. This was where the nickname Dipper originated from, His real name was Manny. "How are you Dipper"? He asked genuinely, shaking Dipper's hand. Ford looked around curiously, and Dipper knew what was coming next. "Where's Mabel at"? He asked, looking back at the two young adults.

"She can't make it". Dipper explained, frowning. "Something about a fashion show". He looked down, and Wendy had started to rub his back, which seemed to stimulate him.

"Well, Damn". Ford expressed, "that's a bummer". He finished, and began to walk off, "If you two need anything, I'll be in the lab, and Jesus is still up on the roof". He informed them. He walked over to the vending machine, on the far end of the Gift Shop, pressing on certain buttons, signing in a code. When he finished, the vending machine swung out like a door, revealing a staircase behind it. The stairs lead down to an elevator, which took you down two sublevels, the bottom one was the laboratory, while the top one, unbeknownst to Dipper, was a secret garage with ten electrically modified cars, and twenty different motorbikes. Ford walked inside the passage, and pulled the Vending Machine back into place, leaving the other two be, just as the first customer walked in.

"I'll go unpack now". Dipper said, looking back at the door. He was about to leave when Wendy had stopped him.

"Soos and Melody are using your room". She informed him, "it's a nursery for Miguel". She said, Dipper nodded, and left the gift shop. He walked over to his car, and got in, before opening the arm rest, and pulling out his Wax Pen, taking a couple of hits from it for medicinal and recreational use. He then turned the car on, and pulled out of the parking space. Dipper wrapped around the large house, and parked beside an old El Diablo, Grunkle Stan's old car, sitting to rust. He stepped out of the car, just as the hits from the pen began to kick in, and he got to work. He felt like he was high in the sky, as he walked up the steps of the side porch. But when he got to the door, it was locked, he went to knock, but no answer came. Dipper decided to walk back around, sticking his pen in his pants pocket, and he found Soos on a ladder, hanging up lights along the walls of the house.

"Soos, could you come unlock the back door"? He asked. Soos held up a finger, and hollered into the shack.

"Hey Babe, could you come open the door for Dipper"? He asked his wife, who was inside the old bedroom. Soos gave him the thumbs up, and allowed Dipper to slowly walk back over to where he was. He walked over to his car first, opening the door of the trunk, where four boxes were. He grabbed the box with his clothes in it first, and walked up the back up the side porch again, just as Melody, a woman that Dipper met when he was twelve, opened the door.

"Hey Dipper, welcome in". Melody said, walking back into the house, "Make yourself feel at home". She finished, just as she walked down into the living room, where a little baby boy, who looked to be a couple of months old by now, was sitting on the soft rugged floor, watching a baby cartoon on the television. Melody grabbed the little boy, who Dipper knew of as Miguel Ramirez, and sat on the couch, with him resting on her lap. To the right of the Living Room doorway was a stairwell that led up to the second floor, and to the left was the entrance into the kitchen. Dipper turned left, and walked up the stairs. On the Second floor, there was the boiler room, and Stan's old bedroom, closed off now to the naked eye. There was another staircase to the left as you get up to the second floor, which in turn would lead up to the attic floor, where Dipper's favorite part of the house was, The Loft, which was under the area of the roof where Wendy and the twins would hang out, drink pitt cola, and throw pine cones at the totem pole. It was also where Dipper and a clone of himself, nicknamed Tyrone, went to sulk after losing Wendy to Robby during a party that his Grunkle Stan threw to raise more money.

Dipper walked up the stairs into the Loft, which shone a light red through the stained-glass window that overlooked the back of the Shack. At one end of the loft, in the center of the wall, was the door to his old bedroom. Dipper walked over to one corner, and set the box down, before sitting down on the soft cushioned bench in front of the stained-glass window. He allowed the midday sun to shine in on him, casting a shadow on the wooden floor. He looked around, remembering all the fun times he spent up here. Dipper smiled, and laughed, thinking the same thing over again, that he was finally home, for good. If only he knew, though, of the things to come, things that will turn his life upside down. He pulled his pen out, and hit it once more, taking a blinker this time, then he stood up, and looked out the window. Dipper was oblivious to the statue of his foe, which rested a hundred feet past the tree line behind the Shack. He blew out the white cloud of smoke, which expanded and thinned out above him. Then Dipper walked back down the stairs to his car. Dipper grabbed the rest of his boxes, consisting of Text books, research Journals, and his electronics, as well as some art work, and creative writing he's done. He took the boxes up to the loft, and began unpacking.

The first box he unpacked had his journals, loosely inspired by Ford's original three journals, set to flames by Bill Cypher during weirdmageddon. They were blue, and had a golden pine tree glued to the front cover of each. There were eight research journals in total, with numbers written on the pine trees, one through eight. Dipper flipped through one of the journals, which had documentations of the things he'd experienced in Europe when he was only sixteen. He stacked them in order, and placed them next to the window bench. After that, Dipper pulled out three different binders. One binder, a single inch black folder, contained his original poetry in it, based on real life events he's gone through. Another binder, twice the size from the last, held comic strips that Dipper had designed, and consisted of a thousand sheets of binder paper. And the final binder, four inches wide, contained his fictional creative writing, which had a story that was a third finished. Then, the last group of things in the first box were five sketchpads, each different sizes. The smallest one had sketches of real people, while the biggest pad had sketches of different landscapes Dipper had come across over time, like the Great Pyramid of Giza, or the Golden Gate Bridge. Dipper set the binders and sketch pads next to the journals, and moved on to the second box.

The second box contained his text books. It was the biggest, and heaviest box, with over forty different books. Dipper divided each book into a faction, English, Science, Math, and History, with each book being a sub topic of their certain subject. He had a book on ancient china, and engineering. There was a book for creative writing, and a textbook with different short stories, like The Tell Tale Heart, and Blackboy. He had a science book on human anatomy, and a textbook for law. These books helped Dipper get through college, and have an IQ of over three hundred and fifty, hence why he is considered a Doctor now. Dipper was talented in many other things as well. Like music, he could play the guitar, with some people comparing him to Jimmy Page. Jimmy freaking Page, the true king of Guitar playing, who made one of the greatest riffs of all time, a riff that Dipper has heard and learned. He was a master in everything, he could cook, and has done a few street races in his Mustang, winning each one. He set the books next to everything else on one side, and went through the last box, perhaps the smallest one out of them.

The last box had his five-hundred dollar nitro laptop, fifteen inches in length, and twelve inches in width. He set the Laptop on the Textbooks, and grabbed his tablet, which was medium sized. He turned the tablet on, and went to the main screen. There were many options, like the Youtube apps. Dipper tapped on the Youtube Music app, and went to his many albums. He scrolled through the albums, and found the song he was looking for. He then pulled a twelve inch speaker out of the box, connected the tablet to it, and put on Full Moon by The Black Ghosts. He listened to the song as he continued to unpack, and tidy up. The final item in the last box was a bag full of flash drives, with electronic research for each subject he'd learned, and from his studies abroad. There were also flash drives for his stories and poems, and even sketches he made on his tablet. Dipper then went back down to his car, and grabbed his backpack, which had his chargers for everything, and a small bag of bud, as well as his smoking pipe. He also grabbed his hat, which he stared at for a good while, before ultimately deciding to throw it away. He put his flannel on, shifted his new beanie, and walked inside. He set his bag by the stairs, then he walked back to the gift shop through the living room hallway, taking a final hit of his pen, and blowing the smoke out as he entered the shop.

The first thing Dipper noticed was Pacifica, sweeping up a section of the room. "Hey Paz". he said as he walked over to the counter, where the redheaded goddess was. Wendy was in the middle of a sale, selling a clock with the Cypher symbols on them. The family left as he got up to the register. Dipper patted Wendy on her back when he got behind the counter. Then pulled out a stool from underneath, sitting on it. Wendy looked at him, noticing the redness in his eyes, thinking he had cried. Her emerald eyes caught his attention, and they were locked on for a minute, before Dipper looked away, breaking the moment. "H-how's everything d-down here"? He asked her.

"Pretty chill". she said calmly. Wendy looked out the window after that, and growled. "God dammit, i told them to leave Gus alone". She said, which got Dipper to look out the window too. He saw a group of five guys, who seemed to be over the age of eighteen, circle around Wendy's seventeen year old brother Gus. Dipper watched as one of the five guys grabbed Gus, allowing the other four to beat him, punching his stomach, and face. The guy that was holding him picked him up and slammed him on the ground very hard, and this was when had enough. Wendy went to stand up but he stopped her.

"Don't worry, I got this". He told her confidently, before standing up, and stepping onto the porch. The five guys were kicking Gus now, causing him to curl up in a ball, and groan. If there was one thing that Dipper absolutely hated, it was bullying, and he wasn't going to put up with this bullshit in front of him, especially on his first day back in town. "HEY"! He bellowed, walking down the steps. He got the attention of the smallest guy, who looked straight at Dipper. "Leave the damn kid alone". Dipper said sternly, and the small one acted all scared, even though he wasn't. . .not yet anyway.

"Stay out of it". The small one said, his voice was squeaky and high pitched. "This has nothing to do with you, so go back inside". He demanded, pointing towards the shack. Dipper couldn't help but laugh at this small remark, because he knew this kid was acting all tough for his friends, who were a lot bigger than him. "Now, so we can go back to-".

"To what"? Dipper asked, getting a little closer to the Gang. "This little pathetic beat down on a seventeen year old kid". He said, feeling his temper rise. Dipper clenched his fist, and continued. "I'll only tell you five assholes once, leave my property, or else". He finished, staring daggers at them. The laughed and the smaller one continued on with his taunt.

"Oh, what're you gonna do"? He teased, and looked at the other four, who laughed with him.

"I'm going to walk over there". Dipper said, anger in his voice, "and kick your tiny princess ass". He growled. The gang stopped laughing, and straightened their posture, making them look bigger than they really are. They all lined up beside the small one, and gave Dipper hard stares. This caused him to laugh again, as he started walking towards them. "What, Think i'm scared of you, I'll take all of you on, how about that"? Dipper asked in spite, as he closed the distance.

"He's not gonna do shit". The small one said to the rest of his crew, he looked at Dipper, who was five yards away from them. The other four decided to walk towards Dipper, with the small man in suit. They closed the distance, and like Gus, they began circling him, annoyance in their eyes.

"You want to bet"? Dipper asked as they circled him, meanwhile Wendy was standing on the porch, watching the situation unfold. She saw the small guy go to punch Dipper once they were inches away from each other. Dipper, in the blink of an eye, grabbed the young man's fist, and twisted his whole arm, before pushing him away. The small man fell backwards, tripping over Gus, and cracking his forehead open. Then the other four joined in, with the second kid, who was roughly Dipper's size, tried to stomp him down. But he swept the kid off of his grounded foot, causing him to fall over, and hit the ground. The third kid, who was slightly chunkier than the other two, grabbed Dipper from behind, but Dipper slipped out of his grasp, and karate chopped his Right side, knocking the wind out of him. The fourth kid, who was rather agile, jumped over the chunky kid, and kicked Dipper in his face. Dipper fell to his knees, and stroked his jaw. "Is that all you got"? He asked the agile one, before swiftly kicking him in his shin.

The agile one fell forward, and Dipper grabbed the collar of his shirt, before slamming him hard on the dirt ground. Then he looked to the fifth kid, who held his fists up. Dipper ran towards him, using the agile one as a boost. He jumped up into a butterfly kick, landing both feet on the bigger kid's torso. He then bounced off the kid, and shifted into a backflip, landing beside the leader of the gang. The small man was on his knees by the time Dipper grabbed his collar, and he could finally see just how livid Dipper was, and that this wasn't a game. "Get the HELL out of here"! Dipper shouted into his face, striking fear into the young man. The other Four scrambled to their feet and ran, while Dipper released the smaller one, allowing him to get up and leave, while also kicking him in his rear. "And Don't Ever Let Me Catch You Around Here Again". He yelled after them as they ran into the treeline. Dipper then walked over to Gus and helped him up. He noticed Gus rubbing his side, and groaning in pain, yeah those boys did a real number on him. "You alright, kid"? He asked the teenager, he gave a pained nod in return. Dipper began walking back towards the Shack, seeing Wendy on the top step of the porch. "So who were they?". Dipper said when Gus caught up to him, pointing back towards the treeline.

"Daryl and his gang". Gus answered, his voice sounded labored and strained. "They've been bullying me all summer".

"How old are they"? Dipper inquired sternly, "because I know damn well they're not in high school".

"You're right, they're not". Gus answered him, then groaned in pain, "they had graduated in june of this year". He finished looking down in sadness. "How old they are, I don't exactly know". He finished, shrugging. Dipper nodded, as they walked up the steps of the porch. He saw Wendy, who was happy to have someone that will look out for her brother like she did. Wendy knew Dipper was a good kid, but she also knew that he wouldn't get into a fight like he just did.

"Go to the living room and sit on the couch". Dipper told Gus, "go rest while I talk to your sister". He commanded gently, patting the young boy on his back. His focus went to Wendy, as Gus Disappeared behind the Door. Wendy went down the steps, and started walking towards the side of the house.

"C'mon I'm on break". She said as she walked, and Dipper happily walked around with her. They walked around the house on the dirt road, allowing Dipper to bring out the wax pen once again, puffing it. Wendy saw him pull it out, but didn't say anything, letting him blow out the smoke in circles. She laughed at this little scene he did, and asked, "are you doing that to impress me"? Dipper took another hit, and shook his head.

"I suffer from anxiety". He explained, "this was just something i've been doing for the last couple of years, since I turned seventeen". He finished, letting the smoke slowly come out. They were approaching his car now, which Wendy saw, and admired. Dipper walked over and leaned up on the hood of the car, closing his eyes to relax.

"So. . .", Wendy paused to think, "where did you learn to fight like that"? She asked him curiously. Dipper was silent for a moment as he regained his memories of the past. He opened his eyes, and looked over to Wendy, who looked intrigued and fascinated at the same time. After fully regaining what was stored in the back of his brain, Dipper began to explain how he learned to fight.

"While I was going to Stanford, I would spend the summers traveling". He started, feeling the yearn to travel again. He also felt like he was sitting in a meadow, while the sun set. Snapping back to reality, Dipper realized that he had stopped talking for a good five minutes, and it amazed him to find that he had sat frozen in time. "During my first summer, I went to China". He continued, smiling at the memory of going to China for the very first time, and remembering how beautiful the culture was. He remembered the vibrant colors of Hong Kong, and the mossy green of the Taihang Mountains, which stretched over two hundred and fifty miles across China, and got up to over nine thousand feet tall. He remembered walking on the Great Wall of China, and was surprised by how long the distance was. But there was one place along the coast of the Shandong Province that Dipper would never forget, not in a million years. "I had explored the Regions of China and quickly fell in love with the culture, then I discovered a secluded temple off the coast of the Yellow Sea". He explained, closing his eyes again, and diving deep in thought. "It was called the Tayang Shendian, or in English, the Temple of the Sun". he said, opening his eyes again, and looking at Wendy, who was closer to him now, and was listening to every word. "I met these powerful monks, who taught me the ways of a secret form of jiu-jitsu, called Sun-jitsu". He finished, smiling at the memory's of learning Karate. But hand to hand combat wasn't the only thing Dipper learned, he had mastered the arts of a variety of weapons, like the sais, and nunchucks, as well as learning how to use throwing knives, and ninja stars. He continued to look at Wendy, who had a shocked look on her face. "What"?

"I-i, just, I would never peg you as a martial artist". She answered, looking away, and chuckling again. "What else don't i know about you"? She asked.

"I have an IQ of three fifty". He said, looking at her, "I am a street racer, and had raced in San Francisco".

"You are"? Wendy asked, getting even more fascinated, Dipper nodded, and turned to face the Mustang.

"This is my prized possession, something I've spent five years building". He answered, pointing towards the beastly muscle car, which could go as fast as a train. Dipper loved cars, ever since he moved to New York, and when he finally had the chance to build an old school mustang from scratch, he took that opportunity, and made his dream car out of it. "I'll take this wherever I go". he told her, and she looked at the car in awe, noticing the point job, and the sloped roof, it was basically a Fastback, having the sloped roof, and the spoiler was average, but still it gave the car it's boost.

"What's the HP on it"? Wendy asked, looking at Dipper, who looked back, his eyes shining a goldish color in the sunlight, but were glazed over with redness, which Wendy came to realize was not from crying, no, Dipper was stoned. "Does it go super fast"?

"The Horse Power is at a thousand". Dipper answered, moving his head around in a fluid circle, "which may seem fast, but my car only goes up to two hundred and fifty miles per hour". He said, and corrected himself, "actually that is hella fast". He said, causing Wendy to laugh, and he laughed along with her. They walked away from the car, and walked up the side porch, before sitting on the swing bench beside the Door to the house. "I believe it could also go from zero to sixty in less than three seconds as well". He finished, and looked off towards the forest, filled with different wonders for him to see, once again. Tomorrow I'll go explore like I did so long ago, he thought as he looked off into the distance. "That's a small bit of what I've done, and can do". He told her, "if you want, i'll gladly talk more with you, perhaps dinner at Greasy's". He said, looking away in embarrassment. Wendy saw him blush for her, and was happy to find that Dipper's spark for her was still burning.

"You know what". She said, getting him to face her, and she smiled, "i'd love that" she said, checking the time, "welp, i should get back to work, we'll talk later when we go to CSO". she finished before exiting the porch, and walking back towards the gift shop, disappearing out of Dipper's sight. Dipper leaned his head against the back of the bench, and closed his eyes, falling into a deep nap, with good dreams to see.

While Dipper slipped into a deep slumber, an airplane passed over the shack. The private jet touched down in the Gravity Falls Executive Airport. Inside the plane was Mabel Pines, the other half of the Mystery Twins. She waited as the plane came to a stop, and the door to her plane opened, with a staircase extended out, and touched the ground. She stood up and checked the time, seeing it was after five. Mabel grabbed her suitcase, and walked down the aisle, excited to see her brother at last. As she exited the plane, she took a deep breath, smelling the fresh scent of Oregon air. The sun was halfway down the western mountain, and the moon was showing. After Mabel stepped down the stairs, she walked a half a mile to the checkout building.

Outside the building, there was a Volkswagon mini bus, parked across the road, and a woman stood outside the van, expecting Mabel's arrival. This Woman was one of Mabel's long time friends, named granda. She was muscular, and athletic, having played almost every sport. She was married to a young queen named Marius Von Fundhauser, who was in austria. In the passenger seat of the VW was Mabel's other best friend, Candy, a local artist with a passion for painting. As of now, candy was fast asleep, due to three boring hours of sitting in the van. Like Wendy, Candy and Grenda hadn't seen Mabel in almost nine years. When Mabel noticed Grenda, and the old school van, she smiled, and power walked towards her childhood friend, who threw her arms out wide, welcoming Mabel. "How are you, Grenda"? Mabel happily asked as she hugged her.

"Never better". Grenda said, smiling at mabel. Her voice was deep, but not as gruff as it was before, but more feminine. "I'm just happy to see my other bestie, after so long". She said, grabbing Mabel's suitcase for her, and setting it in the trunk of the van. Grenda then walked over to the driver side, and opened it. After that, she woke Candy up from her peaceful nap. "Hey, Mabel is here, shift to the middle". Grenda told her, and Candy listened, shifting over so Mabel could sit with them. Mabel sat beside Candy hugging her as well. Then Grenda got in and started the van, "Where to"? She asked Mabel.

"The Shack". Mabel told Grenda, who shifted the gear into drive and turned around. She drove down Airport lane, giving Mabel a good view of the town. "After that, we should go get something from Greasy's". She told them, Smiling. Grenda nodded, and turned right, on to Dearing Court. Mabel was able to see the Water Tower, and the Paul Bunyun statue, both on opposite sides of town. Behind them, the road led up towards the now abandoned Northwest Manor. To the right was the divider of town, the oddly shaped cliffs that separated the town from the northern parts of the valley. Grenda turned on Meyer road fully wrapping around the Private Airport. Mabel saw the railroad that was meant to connect the cliffs, broken in half from the fight her and Dipper had with a kid named Gideon. Grenda turned at a fork halfway down the road, and continued down Meyer, which went down the hill. She drove dwon torturous bends, and merged onto a backroad less then half a mile away outside of town. Grenda headed left towards town, spending the next five minutes driving along the creek. Mabel smiled, and was excited, yet nervous, to see her other friends and family.

"So, Mabel, how is the Fashion Business"? Candy asked Mabel, her voice was small and squeaky, with a slight japanese accent. Mabel was a designer for a company called Shooting-Star, which was kinda like amazon, with millions of different stocks. She actually had a fashion show recently, which her brother thought was today, having no idea what's really going on.

"Business is good". Mabel answered, grinning at Candy. "In fact, I made fifty thousand from my last show". She told Candy, who widened her made two hundred-thousand dollars a year, at the age of twenty-two. Grenda passed the Diner, and merged onto Central. A block after that, she turned on Chrysler Street, overpassing an abandoned train yard. Grenda turned onto Industrial road, passing the High School, and the Elementary School. She drove down Industrial, passing Central North. After Central was Circle Park, where the Water Tower stood tall and bright. Eventually, the houses started to disappear, having been replaced with the mountainside on the left, and an active train track on the right. Beyond the track was nearly four hundred feet of forest, and the creek. "How far are we"? Mabel asked, unable to keep her excitement in much longer. They passed the trailhead, a path that ran along the creek bed, leading up to the waterfall, which the townsfolk called THE Falls.

"Bout' another mile, mile and a half". Grenda said, more focused on the road. After another five to ten minutes, they came to another fork in the road, with the turnoff consisting of a dirt road. This was the same dirt road Wendy had driven on earlier, thinking it was just an ordinary Friday morning. Mabel already recognised the road, it was dubbed Mystery Lane, and she knew where it led. Grenda took a quick glance at Mabel, who had a sparkle in her eyes. This sparkle made Grenda think of when they were younger, and whenever she got excited about something, like when Several Timez came to town. She turned on to the Mystery Lane, and drove through a thick part of the Woods. If there was one thing that Mabel loved about the Mystery Shack, was how secluded the shack was from the rest of the Valley. There were trees that surrounded it from every corner, the only entrance to the land of the shack was through this turn off dirt road, which twisted and turned through the forest, leading up to the dirt lot of the shack. It was like a gateway to Mabel, as she watched the van pass through the tree line into the Estate. She saw the twenty foot tall totem pole that stood on one side of the shack, which was over fifteen feet taller than the pole. Grenda drove up to the Gift Shop, getting Wendy and Pacifica's attention. They were starting the routine of closing, with Wendy counting the profit they had made from the day, and Pacifica was restocking the shelves so they wouldn't have to be restocked the following day. They heard the rumbling of the van and when Pacifica looked up, she saw Grenda's minibus pass the gift shop, and wrap around the side. With curiosity, they both walked out to investigate, because Grenda never really came to the shack anymore.

Grenda parked the Van next to a blue and white mustang, unaware of the owner of this vehicle. No one noticed the small man sleeping peacefully on the porch swing. Grenda and Candy do, however, notice the Redhead and the Blonde women walking over towards them. Wendy noticed the third girl stepping out of the vehicle, and quickly recognised Mabel. Pacifica recognised her too, and as Wendy went to greet the other two, she walked to the other side, and greeted Mabel, who saw her coming, and just like the others, she realized it was her. "Pacifica Northwest, I'll be damned". She said, hugging her friend, who, like Dipper, she had not seen since Weirdmageddon. Then Mabel saw another familiar face walk up to them, Wendy, who circled around the van like Pacifica and hugged Mabel.

"How've you been Mabel"? She asked when she got to them, hugging Mabel as well. This was the first time Wendy had seen Mabel since 2013, and they hadn't spoken to each other since then either.

"I've been great". Mabel said absently, wondering where her brother was. "Is Dipper here yet"? She asked Wendy, who smiled, nodded, then glanced at the mustang to their side. Mabel followed Wendy's glare and observed the Mustang, and after a moment, realization came to her again. This is his car, she thought, with the sparkle in her eyes coming back, we've made, we've finally made it. Then the side door opened, and Soos came out. Just like Wendy and Pacifica, he saw Grenda's van, and decided to come out investigating, not expecting to see Mabel. Dipper woke up from Soos' loud footsteps running down the porch, and he absently saw soos hugging a really tall woman. He stood up and stretched, I should make a mental note to not sleep there again, he thought as he walked down the porch steps to greet this newcomer, who looked familiar to him. When Mabel saw her technically "Younger" brother walking down the steps, she didn't hesitate to hug him, lifting Dipper off the ground in the process, yep she still had three quarters of a foot on him. "I finally get to reunite with you, Bro-bro". She said, sniffling with happiness, and Dipper knew it, he knew who this could be but he didn't want to believe it.

"I thought you had a fashion show". He said in shock.

"Surprise". Mabel said, hugging him tightly. Yep, this is her alright, he thought, taking note of her energeticness, which she always had, even when they became teenager's it stuck with her. He was happy, and hugged his twin sister, after five long years of not seeing her.

"The Mystery twins are really back". Soos said, and they all got into a big group hug, which was cut short by the clearing of a throat. The loud 'ahem' came from Ford, who came out to collect Dipper and Wendy for their mission. When the hug broke apart, Dipper, Wendy, and Soos stayed by the porch, while the other four walked to the back, so Mabel could grab her stuff.

"Ah, Dipper, Wendy". Ford said, getting their attention. He stood at the porch as they looked over to him, "are you two ready to go"? He asked them, and got a united nod in response. Mabel, who was behind the van as of then, came back towards the porch with her suitcase. When she came into view, Ford noticed her, and felt a loose feeling in his legs. Mabel saw him, smiled, and waved. "Mabel"? He asked, walking down the porch to greet her. "How are you, my dear"? He asked, hugging her. Ford looked back at Dipper and Wendy afterward, who were waiting for orders. Well, Wendy was, Dipper just followed along. "Wendy, I want you to take Dipper down, get the equipment and gear, set Dipper up with his own gear, and grab the Bronco". Ford told her.

"Ooh, where are you going"? Mabel asked them.

"On a mission". Ford answered, looking at her.

"Should I come"? She asked. Ford was about to say yes, but noticed the other three standing behind her and thought that she should stay here with them.

"Nah, I think we've got it". He said, looking back at Candy, Grenda, and Pacifica again. "Why don't you go catch up with your friends"? He asked her, seeing the other's faces brighten up, then he smiled and said "We'll talk when I get back". He finished. Meanwhile, Wendy, like Ford instructed, led Dipper back into the Gift Shop. When they got into the store, Wendy walked over to the door, locked it and flipped the sign back to Closed. She then walked over to the vending machine, put the code in for the laboratory, and watched the machine swing out like a door, opening the secret stairway. Dipper heard the whooshing sound, and felt a draft blow past him. They stepped through the doorway, and walked down the stairs to the elevator, with the Vending machine closing behind them. When the duo got down to the elevator, Wendy pressed a button to signal it. They got in it, and went down to Ford's lab.

The Lab had a small office with a metal table that had multiple machines for multiple scientific experiments. To the right side was a door that led into the portal room, where a big portal was, but it got destroyed before Weirdmageddon. To the left were bookcases, and shelves with different inventions. Then on one wall, there were hangers, with Backpacks hooked to them. These were the bags that Ford and Wendy used whenever they went on missions. Next to the bags, there was a mini closet made of titanium. Wendy grabbed the bags, and set them on the Table. Then she went to the closet, opening it, which revealed the contents inside. It was a mini armory, containing two twelve-gauge shotguns, two hand guns, and five magnet guns. Dipper recognised the last set of blasters, because he used one the first time he went to CSO. The reason for the armory, unbeknownst to Dipper, was because of the hectic nature most of the missions had.

Wendy grabbed three of the Magnet Guns, placing one in her and ford's bags, then she handed one to Dipper, who was curious about the other's. "What's with the Shotguns and Pistols"? He asked Wendy curiously, who was grabbing a box of shells.

"Just in case we find trouble". She said, pulling one of the twelve-gauges out, and pumping it back. "Or. . .if trouble finds us". She finished, loading a shell into the shotgun, and pumping it forward. She grabbed a pistol and tossed it to Dipper, then grabbed the other shotgun, along with another box of shells. She packed the boxes of shells and the magnet guns into the two bags, then she grabbed another pistol to put in her bag. After she did all of this, Wendy with the two bags and shotguns, led Dipper back to the elevator, "C'mon, it's time to show you the garage", Wendy said when they got back in the elevator and took it down an extra level. The third sublevel, which was non-existent when Dipper was here last, was a small garage with two rows of electrically modified vehicles, there were five old school muscle cars, ten trucks, two bikes, and three SUVs. When they entered the garage, the lights came on because of a motion sensor hooked up next to the elevator doors. And Dipper was in disbelief, wondering how the garage was even possible. At the very end of the right row, there was a black 1974 Ford Bronco, modified with an electric engine, and a touchscreen radio.

"Woah"! Dipper exclaimed, widening his eyes. He examined the SUV, while Wendy got in the driver's seat, turning the radio screen on. She pressed a button, and a handprint scanner popped up. Wendy then pressed her hand on the scanner, which began scanning. This action caused the Bronco to come to life, it roared, taking Dipper aback. Then she got out, and put the equipment in the very back of the SUV, before walking over to Dipper.

"Get in". She said in a voice that she knew would make Dipper obey. At the end of the two rows of cars, there was a tunnel that wrapped around the dirt lot, before going up a ramp and exiting the underground. When Wendy got back in the bronco, she shifted the gear into drive, turned out of the parking space that the big vehicle was resting in, and drove off into the tunnel. Dipper could already feel that they were going uphill, though he was unaware that the tunnel was twisting around the bottom of the lot. Wendy pressed a button, and everybody up above ground watched as the dirt road split apart, and heard the growling of a large vehicle. Only Ford knew what this was, but the other four watched with curiosity, just as the bronco came into view, driving up the ramp. Dipper realized that they had gone around the whole shack and resurfaced in front of the gift shop. The ramp closed behind them, with the dirt road going back to how it was. The two in the Bronco waited as Ford said his goodbyes, beginning to walk towards them. When he got in the Bronco, Wendy turned around, and merged onto the dirt road. She drove down to Industrial, and instead of turning left, heading back into town, she turned right, heading up towards Old Pines Road.

The Field Along the Creek

There was a long road that split off the Midway South. It wound up beside an empty crop field. To the North was the creek, with a small hill leading down to it. Both sides of the field were covered with trees, and you can see the road continue beyond the trees, but stop at the foot of the cliff. On this route, called Oaktree Road, a black Yukon SUV drove. It turned on to the field, and drove down towards the creek, stopping right before the flatland went down hill. When the Yukon came to a complete stop, Rick Sanchez stepped out of the passenger side with his M-16, feeling like he did last night, in San Francisco. He looked around, and pulled out something from his pocket. It was a picture of the town him and his goons were in, a picture that his old friend gave him decades ago. He knew this was the right place, because of the cliffs and the lumberjack statue. Rick patted the Yukon's hood, and said gladly, "this is our final destination". After this the driver, named Michael, an insectoid alien with the abilities of a human that originates from Gromflom Prime, stepped out, along with a lizard-man named Ajax, and a human-alien hybrid named Bull. Ajax went to the back, and grabbed a tent set up. He took it away from the hill, and set the tent up by a tree line. Ajax came from Fb-pr1, an alternate universe where everything was lizard like in nature. His species had features like a human, they have the five senses, and could walk on their hind legs, but they can run on all fours, and crawl on walls, and some could go into a camouflage when they felt threatened, just like a lizard. He began to unpack the tent and build it up.

After a half an hour, the tent was fully built, and inside was a mini base. It consisted of two tables, one with Rick's laptops and flasks, another with his inventions and gear. There was an armory with knives, guns, and explosives. Two knives and guns for each man, minus the M-16s, then the explosives were for something else that Rick had in mind. Rick cleared the table with his inventions up, and manifested a map hologram from his laptop. It was a map of the town, and the valleys. Rick studied the Map for some time, before coming to his ultimate decision. "Alright, listen up". He called out, before clearing his throat. "I've got the plan for tonight". He finished, then he went back to the computer, and quickly made Icons of the other three and himself. "The three of you will go to the highways that cross a certain side of the border". He explained after finishing the Icon. "Ajax. . .", he placed ajax's icon on the Northwestern Border, ". . you'll go here". Rick said, then moved on to Michael, putting his icon on the Southern Border crossing, "you'll go to the southern Border, Michael". Rick said, getting an odd nod in return. "And Bull. . ." he turned to the youngest and smallest of the three, "I want you to go to the Southeastern Crossing". He said, putting Bull's icon on the board.

"Is there a reason for having us do this"? The young hybrid man said with an attitude.

"Yes". the old man said, then the weird feeling he had the night before came back. Rick felt like he was being watched, and should be watching his own back. He felt it last night when he heard a twig snap in the shadows of that dark street. Ever since then, Rick's been feeling on edge about it. He knew it was Morty, and even though he threatened his own grandson, he spared him. But why? Was it because Rick already killed his granddaughter, Summer? Was it because not even five minutes prior to this moment, Rick had killed this universe's version of Morty? Or, Was it because Rick knew the fun had only just begun. He still had an edgy feeling, but that was the fuel to this thrill ride Rick seemed to be on. He couldn't wait for Morty to show up, because now, Rick was going to put him through hell, especially after what he heard happened on the citadel. "You guys are to let me know when Morty arrives".

"But didn't we kill him"? Ajax asked with confusion.

"That Morty we killed last night was from this earth". Rick explained, his voice was nerve-chilling, and he looked down, "I'm talking about the Morty from my universe". He finished, getting a more confused look from Bull and Ajax, "It's the Multiverse, get used to it". He snapped at them. Once the confusion was cleared, Rick pulled out his Portal gun from a pocket inside his Suit Jacket. "Now that that's out of the way. . .", he continued, opening up three Portals to each border, "Remember what the mission is"? He asked irritably, getting three nods in response, "Good". He finished, gesturing that it's their time to leave, so they did. Michael went through the center portal, Ajax through the left, and Bull through the right. After Bull ventured through his, the Portals closed up, leaving Rick to himself. He turned the map hologram off, and switched to another laptop, Thinking of one thing and one thing only, where was Ford Pines.

He sat down, thinking about what needed to be done, then he decided to search up Ford's name in the computer, as he remembered things that were lost in his cosmic brain. There wasn't much with Ford, but he did find out about the Mystery Shack, and how a man named Stanley Pines owned it. At first Rick thought this was Ford, but after doing more research, he found out that Stanley was his twin brother. Rick remembered Ford telling him about that when they were younger. He had met Ford in 1991, in a pub on earth Alpha-11, and they spent the next twenty years venturing across the multiverse, fighting bad guys, overthrowing corrupt governments, and discovering new things. Their fun times came to an end though, when Ford got sucked back into this universe, and Rick hadn't heard anything since. He continued looking for things on his laptop, when his radio went off.

"He's here". The voice of Michael called out through the speaker, "passing the border right now". He finished, and this was Rick's cue. He went into a compartment under one of the tables, and pulled a stealth drone out, which he connected to the Laptop. Then he used the computer to control the tiny machine, which was released into the night sky. He flew the drone over the southwestern mountain, and easily spotted his grandson's car, a green 1970 camaro, passing the midway. The drone spied on the car, as Morty Smith entered Gravity Falls.
