Chapter 5
Here we will have the Shop Tournament Finale with both Issei and Nagisa squaring off against Kai and Misaki. Now I've been researching how to make the story better and would like to state that Issei will not have his Royal Paladin Deck after being beaten by Vali but will be given some cards to assist his Kagero, Pale Moon deck, and his Dark Irregulars. Albion will have a much more powerful version of itself as well as Ddraig, who will be revealed in the next chapter since I was planning on Vali being Issei's rival in this one after the Shop Tournament.
Now let's have some fun!
Issei and Nagisa looked at the board as they saw the two names of their possible opponents in the Top 4 of the Shop Tournament. Issei was excited about facing off against Toshiki Kai since he could tell that the Kagero player would be a great opponent to fight with his deck. At the same time, Nagisa was amazed and wondering how skilled the other girl was in a Cardfight since she could tell that the girl seemed to have some trauma that affected her mentality in the game.
They could enjoy a nice lunch break of over an hour. Still, Issei enjoyed chatting with Miwa while Nagisa was looking over her deck to make sure that everything was ready for her next matchup until the shop owner came back in and turned on his microphone.
"Alright, everyone! Time to see who'll be facing off against each other for the next two rounds in our Top 4," Shin said as he handed out four slips of paper. The group opened their pieces to reveal their numbers. Shin then explained how the pairings would commence. "Now those with the numbers one and three will face off while two and four will fight each other. Head to the tables that are marked with your number so you can prepare yourself for battle." He said as the four headed to the tables. Issei looked to see that Misaki was his opponent, which surprised Issei before seeing Nagisa nod his way, which made him calm down as he asked the woman before him.
"So, what color will you choose for your opponent?" Issei asked as Misaki's eyes narrowed in concentration as she pondered her choice until she made her decision.
"I'll take the Dark Irregular deck. The purple one." Misaki said as Issei nodded and pulled his out before handing it to her while taking her own and shuffling it well. The two-handed their decks back to each other until Shin smiled. "Let's get this Cardfight started!"
"Stand up, my Vanguard! Lozenge Magus!/Amon's Follower, Barmaids Grace!" The two declared as their units came to life on the battlefield as Issei readied himself for the battle.
"I'll be going first. I draw." Misaki said as she drew her first card before selecting her unit. "I ride Oracle Guardian Gemini." She said as her starting unit transformed into the twins until Misaki moved Lozenge Magus back to the rearguard before ending her turn.
'From what I saw in her previous battles, she's got an excellent memory and is good with using her intelligence in the game, which is a great skill to have. I need to be careful, or else I'll end up in her trap.' Issei said to himself as he drew his sixth card before selecting his unit. "I ride Amon's Follower, Fallen Angel Raynare." He said as the Fallen Angel appeared before he moved Barmaids Grace behind the Fallen Angel before activating her skill.
"When Raynare is on the field, I can soul charge two cards," Issei said as he did so before he called another unit. "Then I call Amon's Follower, Hell's Deal, and Doreen the Thruster," Issei said as the two teams appeared as Issei activated their abilities.
"As long as my Vanguard has the word 'Amon' in its name, Hell's Deal lets me soul charge two more cards while Doreen gains 3000 power for each one, and since four cards went into the soul, this turn means Doreen is getting 12000 power," Issei said as Doreen shivered in joy as she felt the power consume her until Issei began his attack.
"First off. Hell's Draw will attack Gemini with support from Barmaids Grace." Issei said as Hell's Draw struck Gemini Misaki checked her damage trigger to receive Lucky Kid. "Draw Trigger. Power to my Vanguard while I draw a new card." Misaki said as Issei supported Raynare with the powered-up Doreen and attacked the twins before he checked his drive triggers.
"Checking for a Drive Trigger." He flipped the card to reveal a Grade 2 before putting it in his hand. "No trigger." He said as Raynare struck the twins with her magic before Misaki showed another Draw Trigger as she drew her new card.
"Then I'll end my turn," Issei said as he looked at his four cards and compared them to Misaki's colossal hand. 'She's got seven cards in her hand, which means she must be gathering her strongest units to deal damage to me or taking out my rearguards. Either way, I got to be careful.' Issei said mentally as Misaki drew her next card.

"I ride, Oracle Guardian, Wiseman," Misaki said as the twins became a massive statue with a man pondering until she called her other units. "Then I call Security Guardian, Silent Tom, and a pair of Geminis." She said as the teams appeared beside her Vanguard, ready for battle. Issei was a bit nervous when looking at them before Misaki began her attack.
"With support from Gemini, Security Guardian will attack your Hell's Draw," Misaki said as Issei let the attack through as he put his unit into the Drop Zone before Misaki began her next attack. "Now Wiseman will attack your Vanguard." She said as Wiseman began charging up its laser eyes before Misaki flipped over her top card, revealing it to be a Grade 3.
"No trigger." She said as Issei put the Grade 2 into his Damage Zone before she sent Silent Tom at his Vanguard and blasted the Fallen but as soon as Issei was about to put a Grade 0 down, Misaki spoke to him. "Silent Tom strikes fear into Grade 0 units, making them unable to defend against attacks." She said as Issei let go and checked his damage trigger to reveal nothing there.
"Then I'll end my turn." She said as Issei let out a sigh he didn't know he had in him before looking at her formation. 'That Silent Tom will be a problem, so I must take it out first. We're tied for damage, but she's still got four cards, and Security Guardian is a special intercept unit which means it can take more damage than normal.' Issei said as he drew his next card and spoke to her.
"You know, you are an excellent player at this game which surprises me since I never really pegged you as the gamer type. I thought you were more of the brainiac who loves to study at school." Issei said as he rode his Grade 2, ignoring Misaki's narrowed eyes. "I ride, Amon's Follower, Imprisoned Fallen Angel, Saraqael. Thanks to her skill. I soul blast one card to release her this turn." He said he paid the cost to release the Fallen Angel until other units began to appear.
"I then call Amon's Follower, Hell's Draw, and Ron Geenlin along with the Poet of Darkness," Issei said as the three units appeared as they readied themselves for battle. "Now, with Hell's Draw, two cards go into the soul," Issei said as the soul charged before he smiled as he activated another ability.
"Since I have six cards in the soul, Poet of Darkness and Doreen both gain power. Poet of Darkness is now at 9000 while Doreen is at 12000 power." Issei said as his units charged up before he started his attack. "With a boost from Barmaids Grace, Hell's Draw attacks your Silent Tom," Issei said as Hell's Draw launched her attack until a Lucky Bird blocked it.
Issei nodded as he launched Saraqael to attack Wiseman. "And with her skill, since a Dark Irregular unit boosts her, she gets another 5000 power, making it a total of 28000 power heading your way!" Issei said as Saraqael soared straight towards Wiseman. Issei did his Drive Check to reveal a Grade 1, which was put in his hand, while Misaki revealed her third damage to show that it wasn't a trigger card.
"Finally, Ron Geenlin will attack with support from Poet of Darkness," Issei said as Ron smiled as he attacked and gained his power boost. Wiseman grunted in pain as Misaki put her fourth damage in the damage zone before Issei ended his turn.
"Good. Now it's my turn to answer your statement from earlier—you're right. I did play this game when I was little, but after growing up, I decided to focus on my studies so I could prepare myself for the future. I only entered this tournament because of my uncle." Misaki said as she drew her next card.
"I ride CEO Amaterasu!" Misaki said as the Goddess of the Sun appeared before them all until Issei looked at her hand.

Issei blushed at the beautiful goddess before Misaki began to attack. "Now then, Security Guardian will attack Hell's Deal with support from Gemini." She said as Issei let it through and placed the Succubus into the Drop Zone before she attacked CEO Amaterasu.
"Since I soul charged thanks to her ability, I could see the top card of my deck, and it's a Critical Trigger. Giving the critical to my Vanguard and power to Silent Tom." Misaki said as she revealed Lucky Bird which made Issei wince as he saw that Misaki had shown a second Critical Trigger for the second one; he felt the damage Saraqael took before revealing that he had no triggers in the following three cards he sent to the damage zone.
'Dammit. I could've blocked the attack, but I didn't know she could've gotten a double critical.' Issei said mentally as Misaki smirked at him before she spoke. "I could tell that your strategy was to buy yourself time to soul charge as many cards as you can for your Grade 3, but unfortunately for you, I was keeping track of the remaining cards you have in your hand, and you only have a Grade 3 and 0 which will do you no good against Silent Tom. Your only best bet is to pull a Heal trigger but seeing as you haven't drawn a single trigger, this match means that your chances are less than four percent."
She said as the onlookers were amazed by her analysis. Issei was about to grab the last card before flipping it to gasp, and Misaki as they saw that it was a Heal Trigger. "Tch. That's some heavy luck on that Heal Trigger right there, but luck itself won't save you. I have five cards and two units to intercept, so I'm not sure how you will save yourself this time." Misaki said as she ended her turn before Issei drew his third card before gasping at the unit in his hand.
'No way. You've come to save me?' Issei muttered aloud as he held the card up high. "Prepare to face the incarnation of Pride itself. Rise as the Lord of Demons makes his appearance! Amon's Ruler, Lucifer!" Issei said as the ruler of all demons appeared as Lucifer was standing before them in its regal battle armor. (Basically Sirzechs Lucifer from DXD) before Issei summoned Amon's Desire, Asmodeus.
"Now then. First, I activate Asmodeus's skill. When Asmodeus is called to the field, I draw one card for each Rearguard that's a Dark Irregular, including her. So that's five cards for me." Issei then drew his cards as he then activated Barmaids Grace and Lucifer's ability. "Now, first, I activate Barmaids Grace's skill. By putting her to rest and paying one, I can give Asmodeus a special ability for the rest of this turn. She gains 1000 power for every card in the soul. I have seven which means 7000 power is added to her attack this turn. Then I activate Lucifer's ability. When I have more damage than my opponent, I can activate his skill." Issei said as he flipped two cards over and explained the effects.
"Since I have more than six cards in the Soul, Lucifer gains 10000 power, and when he attacks, all rearguards must retreat to the Drop Zone, and once this ability is played, you can't guard with a sentinel," Issei said as he sent Ron Geenlin to attack but was blocked by a Lucky Bird and Dream Eater until Issei sent Lucifer to launch his attack at the Goddess until Misaki stopped it with each unit she could use.
"I guard with both Lucky Bird and Gemini while intercepting both Security Guardian and Silent Tom! Making a total of 40000." Misaki said as she looked at Lucifer.
'He was at 1100 power, but with that Limit Break and Doreen's boost, he's now at 2800 power. I still have to deal with Asmodeus, and she's currently at 18000 power. Luckily I have one grade 0 unit that can block her attack easily as long as he doesn't get a trigger. Even if he managed to get a double trigger, he wouldn't be able to power through my defense. I have to survive this turn no matter what.' Misaki said in her mind as Issei began his twin drive check.
"Twin Drive Check. First card?" Issei said as he revealed a Stand Trigger which allowed him to stand Ron Geenlin as he flipped his second card to reveal a Critical Trigger. "The power goes to Ron Geenlin as well as the Critical. Now, as for Lucifer's second ability. All of the remaining rear guards are forced to leave the battlefield." Issei said as Misaki looked at her remaining units vanishing into the Drop Zone as her guardians were destroyed.
"Oh, I'm not done yet. If you think that's it for Lucifer, then you are mistaken. The cost for Lucifer's Limit Break is now available for me to use. Now show them the true power of the Demon of Pride. Lucifer's Limit Break!" Issei declared as Lucifer smirked at Amaterasu as his whole body exploded with crimson energy as Issei explained the ability. "After he attacks, if I am unable to inflict damage to my opponent, then I can send any number of resting rearguards that are Dark Irregular into the soul, so Barmaids Grace and Doreen the Thruster sacrifice themselves for the Demon of Pride as Lucifer stands up with an extra 8000 power as well as the two front-row units," Issei said as Lucifer absorbed the souls of the two units before lending his power to Asmodeus and Doreen as they were thankful for their lord supplying them with even more power.
Misaki gasped at this as she wasn't aware of this unit's ability until Issei sent Asmodeus to strike Amaterasu. Misaki flipped her two cards to send her at five, but she had a little hope as she saw the fifth one. "Heal Trigger activated. I recover one and five of the power to Amaterasu." Misaki declared as she sent looked at the remaining units and her only card left to defend before Issei sent Lucifer to attack once more. Misaki saw that it was now at 36000 power thanks to its Limit Break, and with the possibility of getting a trigger, she decided to let it through.
"No guard," Misaki said as she flipped her fifth damage to show that it was a Grade 1 unit before Issei sent Ron Geenlin to strike Misaki one more time as she reached her final damage point.
"Good game Misaki. You had me with Silent Tom and Amaterasu; if it weren't for that lucky Heal Trigger, I would've been done for." Issei said as Misaki shook the hand and nodded. "Honestly, I was shocked by that Heal Trigger, but the way you delivered the final blow to me was a good move, especially when using your units the way you did. I hope you do well against Kai. Even I haven't beaten him, and he's the strongest one in this Card shop." Misaki said as she went back to the counter while Issei nodded in reply as he looked to see Nagisa and Kai get ready before the Kagero Master spoke to him.
"Issei Hyoudou. I want to face your Kagero Clan. Show me what it can do." Kai said as Issei was surprised by the declaration of war before smirking at him.
"Bring it on, then, but you're going to have to beat Nagisa first before you can fight me," Issei said as Nagisa smirked at Kai before they shuffled each other's decks before they placed their Grade 0 on the Vanguard circle before beginning the match.
"Stand up my/the Vanguard! Let's go Guiding Zombie!/Lizard Soldier, Conroe." The two declared as their respective Vanguards appeared on the battlefield.
"Ladies first. I draw." Nagisa said as she drew her first card before riding her Vanguard. "I ride Parting Shade! Moving Guiding Zombie to the back row and then calling a pair of Rough Seas Banshee, and thanks to their skills, I'll be sending them to the soul and drawing two cards." Nagisa said as the Banshees went into the Soul while drawing two cards before she ended her turn.
"It appears you know what you are doing, unlike my previous opponents, but unfortunately, you won't have time to gather all of your pirates," Kai said as he drew his card before riding Embodiment of Armor, Bahr as his Vanguard before calling another Bahr and an Iron Tail Dragon. This impressed Issei seeing that it was a good start for the Kagero clan before Kai began to attack.
"First, my rearguard Bahr on the left will attack your Vanguard," Kai said as Bahr attacked the pirate, which Nagisa let through as she sent her damage point into the Damage Zone. "No trigger."
Kai then proceeded with his next attack as he sent his Vanguard Bahr, boosted by Conroe, at the pirate before revealing a Critical Trigger giving the power to Iron Tail. At the same time, Bahr took the critical which Nagisa still let through as she flipped her two cards to reveal nothing among them.
"Go ahead. Make your last move." Nagisa said in a surprisingly calm tone as Kai sent Iron Tail Dragon her way but was blocked by a Chappie the Ghostie, which made Nagisa smirk as she activated its skill.
"Thanks to Chappie, I can send one Granblue unit of my choosing from my deck into the Drop Zone," Nagisa said as she looked inside her deck before revealing a copy of Knight Spirit and placing it in the Drop Zone as Kai ended his turn.
"Alright then. I end my turn." Kai said as Nagisa then drew her next card before smiling.
"Next, I ride Undead Knight of the Cursed Spear," Nagisa said as she rode the Undead Knight as it roared to engage the enemy until she pointed to her Guiding Zombie. "I activate Guiding Zombie's skill. I send him to the soul and the top three cards of my deck to the Drop Zone." Nagisa said before doing so, which made her call two more units. "Then I call Knight Spirit and Samurai Spirit and activate my Spirit Exceeds skill. By sending both Spirits to the soul, I can then Superior Ride Spirit Exceed!" Nagisa yelled as Spirit Exceed rode the Vanguard, which shocked Izaki before Nagisa called two more units. "Then I call Pirate Swordsman Colombard and EvilShade."
The Grade 3 emerged from the Drop Zone as the two pirates appeared before Kai Izaki gasped at this. "That's the same move she used to beat me in our matchup. This is bad for Kai because now she'll get Twin Drive." He said as Aichi looked at the Kagero user before shaking his head. "No. He'll win. Knowing Kai, he'll probably counter this somehow." Aichi said as Nagisa began her attack.
"First, I'll have Colombard attack your Vanguard Bahr." She said as Colombard struck Bahr until Nagisa activated the unit's ability. "When he attacks, I can flip over one card and call another unit from the Drop Zone to the field in an open rearguard circle, so I'll call another Colombard," Nagisa said as a second one appeared next to the Undead Captain before Nagisa then sent Spirit Exceed at Kai.
"With a boost from EvilShade, Spirit Exceed will attack your Vanguard Bahr, and with Evil Shade's skill, 20000 power is heading your way!" Nagisa declared as the Vanguard rushed towards Bahr before Nagisa did her Twin Drive.
"First Card? Nothing. Second Card?" Nagisa said as she revealed... "A Stand Trigger! Thanks to this card, I'll stand up to my other Colombard that attacked while the one who hasn't attacked yet gains the power boost." She said as the pirate stood up once more while its brother glowed as it gained more power. Spirit Exceed struck Bahr with its twin blades as Kai revealed that he got a Draw Trigger.
"Giving the power to Bahr while I draw another card," Kai said as he drew his new card while Nagisa sent the Colombard; she just stood up to attack Iron Tail Dragon, but Kai let it through as Nagisa used its skill to summon a Samurai Spirit behind the boosted one.
"And now my standing Colombard will attack Bahr with support from Samurai Spirit," Nagisa said as her pirate attacked and struck Bahr. Kai then placed his third damage into the Drop Zone. This made him smirk at her as she ended her turn.
"Not bad. You could get to Grade 3 on just your second then and gain a temporary advantage. Now let me show you how it's done. I stand and draw." Kai said as he drew his fourth card.
"I ride the Dragon Knight, Aleph, and call Embodiment of Spear Tahr. Then I send Bahr and Tahr into my soul stack to superior ride Embodiment of Victory, Aleph!" Kai said as the Dragon Knight roared as it appeared for all to see as Kai called his other units to battle.
"I call Dragon Tamer, Kiyome, and with her skill, I can search my deck for two Grade 2 or 1 units and call them to the field. So I call Wyvern's Strike Tagus and Jarren Dragon to the rearguard." Kai said as the two units appeared on the right side of the field while Aichi and the others were amazed by the new unit until he called his final unit. "And lastly, I call Demonic Dragon Dancer Monica." The dancer appeared behind the Demon Knight, but Issei could see that it was a mixture of the Kagero and the Dark Irregular, thanks to the word Demon in its name.

When placed on the field, look for two Grade 2 or 1 units and call them to open rearguard. Side Note: The user can summon one of each grade allowed by this card's ability.
Demon Dragon Dancer, Monica

Power: 7000
When this unit boosts a Grade 3 Flame Dragon, Demon, or Demonic Dragon, the unit gains an extra 5000 power boost plus one critical.
Nagisa was impressed by this formation and smiled as she did a 'come hither' motion. "Show me what you got." The Pirate said as Kai smiled back in reply as he began his assault.
"First, with a boost from Conroe, Kiyome will strike your Vanguard," Kai said as Kiyome rushed to strike Spirit Exceed, but it was blocked by Nagisa's Graham the Ghostie, as she smiled back.
"One down. What's next?" Nagisa asked as Kai launched his next attack.
"With support from Demon Dragon Danced, Monica, Aleph will attack your Vanguard, and thanks to my Vanguard being a Demon, Aleph gains an extra 5000 power and plus one critical this turn," Kai said as Nagisa looked at her only card in her hand before sighing to herself. "No guard," Kai smirked as he did his twin drive and revealed a Grade 1 before revealing another Critical Trigger which made him smile as he sent the critical to Aleph and the power to Tagus.
Nagisa flipped her three damage to reveal that she was finished, which led to her losing the battle. Nagisa sighed to herself as she gathered her cards up before holding out a hand toward Kai. "Heh. I underestimated your skills as a Cardfighter, so good luck against Issei but know that next time we meet, I'm challenging you to a rematch." The Pirate Princess said as Kai smirked and nodded before shaking it.
"I look forward to battling you again, Nagisa. Now then." Kai said as he looked at Issei, who walked over to Kai's table and held out his Kagero deck for him.
"I'll go all out with my Kagero deck. No holding back." Issei said as he gave his deck to Kai, who smirked at the boy's challenge before taking it and shuffling the deck before handing it back to Issei and gave his deck to Issei, who mixed it and handed it back when finished with it.
Shin was surprised by the fire between the two of them before Shin smirked as he declared the final battle.
"Alright! Now we have the newcomer, Issei Hyoudou, who has amazed us all with his many decks in battle, facing off against Toshiki Kai, who had destroyed all of his opponents that entered his path to victory. The final battle is about to begin. Cardfighters! Are you ready?" Shin asked as all of them yelled and cheered for them both.
"YEAH!"
"Go, Issei! Beat this guy!"
"You got this, Kai!"
Nagisa and Aichi cheered for their favorite Cardfighter as the two began the final battle of the Shop Tournament.
"Stand up my/the Vanguard!" They both shouted as the battle commenced.
Scene!
This'll be the cliffhanger for the Kagero Duel, and now some may have noticed that I changed some abilities or added some new ones. Well, I made Kiyome a Dragon Tamer due to her being a Beast Tamer, so I thought that there would be two parts of her. One was in the Grand Nature Clan, while the other was in the Kagero Clan. Now, as for Monica, I decided to make her the Grade 1 version but added a Demonic version since I thought that Evil Dragons would be an excellent addition to the Dark Irregulars.

"Hey. This unit will be a good addition to your Kagero Deck." The silver-haired man said to Issei as he handed Issei a Kagero Card before reading the name aloud. "Dragon of Domination, Y Ddraig Goch?" Issei said as he looked and saw the man had vanished before seeing a note in his other hand.
'If you want to have a rematch, then meet me in the National Cardfight Tournament. You are good with those three clans since they chose you to lead them. Consider me your rival since I have the counterpart of your Ace—Dragon of Divination, Albion. See you in a few months, Issei Hyoudou. From V. L.'
Issei put the note away as he looked at his new unit before taking out his Kagero Deck and looking at his ace card Ddraig Y Goch. Did you choose me, Ddraig?" Issei asked for his card as he felt a small voice speak to him.
[Indeed, it's a pleasure to speak to you, partner.]
{Heheh. I can't wait to have some more fun with this now that we can talk to you instead of you seeing my lovely body.} A very flirtatious voice said before a commanding tone spoke, calming her down.
(That's enough, Kuroka. It's time we speak to Issei Hyoudou, the one who is leading our clans, and tell him of the gift he has. It's a pleasure to meet you, Issei Hyoudou.) Sirzechs said as Issei was shocked not just to hear their voices but see their spirits in front of him.
Yep. Issei Hyoudou's life was about to get a little hectic.
