Xander comes out form behind some bushes with a rock, which I exchange for a stake.
He is not the cavalry. Xander is only responsible for getting Giles away. He tells me something and I take it in stride.

As I enter the mansion, the strings of sanity fade from me. I was not willing to let it go.
