The sound of the ship's engines roar echoed throughout the skyways as Brainstorm and the Dinobots were on their way to the laboratory, "We're approaching Uraya, we should be there in about 20 minutes."Slug said from the pilots chair with Sludge sitting next to him Brainstorm was sitting next to Grimlock who didn't speak the whole time so Brainstorm decided to break the silence and ask him a question that's been bothering him. "Slug's alternate form...how did that happen?"Brainstorm asked fully aware that was not the form he had before "Shockwave..."Grimlock said firmly brainstorm knew of shockwave and he didn't like him at all either "What did he do?"Brainstorm asked curiously Grimlock growled softly he didn't like talking about this but he felt Brainstorm should know.
"We learned from the mouthplate of a decepticon that there was a large source of energon in the sea of rust I sent Swoop to investigate only to find out later that he's been captured by the cons we left to go get him only to get captured ourselves and Shockwave...he experimented on us,gave us these...I don't know beast forms and tried to make us Decepticons slaves but we escaped and we destroyed the space bridge tower and killed Shockwave...or at least that's what I thought..."Grimlock explained.
Brainstorm was stunned but at the same time he wasn't Shockwave was the absolute definition of mad scientist so it wasn't completely suprise that he would experiment on other cybertronians but it was still shocking to hear none the less. "Grimlock I'm sorry you and your team had to go through all that."Brainstorm said sympatheticly. Grimlock clinched his fist in frustration Grimlock growled "Not as sorry as I made him."
He then thought back to him biting off Shockwave's arm and tail swiped him off the tower actions he felt more and more prouder the more he thought about it however all that proudness went away when he remembered that Shockwave was still alive somewhere no doubt mocking him for not getting the job done.
Seeing that this conversation was starting to upset Grimlock more Swoop decided to direct the conversation elsewhere but Sludge beat him to it with an announcement "We've arrived at Uraya."
The ship was slowly flying over the ruined landscape of the once beautiful city of Uraya now a destroyed thanks to the decepticons Brainstorm walked over to the windshield and looked around for his lab and spotted it just a few feet away "There it is over there." Brainstorm said pointing over to the lab it was a medium sized building with some parts of it destroyed at first the Dinobots thought that Emberblaze made some of those when he escaped but then they remembered the attack by the Decepticons.
They landed the ship nearby and they exited and they began to approach the building as the sun was slowly setting over the horizon darkening the city. "So you think he's in there?"Sludge asked looking at the building "I know so,I haven't gotten an alert in a couple of hours since the last one so he has to be here." Brainstorm said with confidence.
"Well that's good enough for me let's go."Grimlock said as he and the rest of them entered the lab, just like Shockwave's lab it was a mess, broken test tubes and various equipment littered the floor and there was medium sized holes in the walls and ceiling.
"Place is no better than Shockwave's lab."Slug said looking around at the mess Grimlock looked around for any sign of Predacon but didn't find anything the lab was completely empty. "I thought you said he'd be here, there's no one here but us."Grimlock stated looking over at Brainstorm who walked towards a large elevator door. "He wouldn't be up here he'd be in the basement."Brainstorm said pushing the button and after a few seconds their was a beeping sound and the door opened to reveal a barely lit elevator.
Brainstorm stepped inside and the Dinobots followed Brainstorm pushed the button and the door closed and the elevator started moving down "This place has a basement?"Swoop asked curiously "Yeah I discovered that when I got this place apparently the original owners had a basement where they did all the questionable and dangerous stuff."Brainstorm explained.
"Are they still down here?"Swoop asked curiously referring to the experiments the original owners left behind "some of them,just don't touch anything."Brainstorm said in a clear warning tone. After that the elevator stopped and the doors slid open to reveal a badly lit corridor that didn't have a single door lining the walls except for the one on the end.
"Ok this isn't spooky at all."Swoop said sarcasticly "the lab is right through there."Brainstorm said walking towards the direction of the doors with the Dinobots in tow. When they walked through the doors then they came into a completey shocking sight, they were in a large room that was demolished by something big there was lab equipment scattered all over the place and scorched and claw marks all over the floor and walls but what really got everyones attention was the massive hole in the wall near the door.
Slug inspected it and saw it looked like it was a tunnel that was dug upwards no doubt leading to the outside. "well now we know how he got out of this place."Sludge said Brainstorm then proceeded to walk through the destruction then he walked through another hole that led into another large partly destroyed hallway this time with doors lining the walls some of them were open the others were closed The Dinobots began to wonder what experiments were behind the closed doors but they didn't have time to find out.
The group then continued to walk down the hall passing by the rooms were the doors were open some of the rooms had some weapons or tech the others had dead insecticons some of which the Dinobots hadn't encountered before, there was a praying mantis, a firefly and a cicada.
After that they came onto another hallway that was a little shorter and split off in two different directions Left and right, The Dinobots we're wondering which way to go but for Brainstorm it was technically a no brainer. "Go to the left it's were his cage is located."Brainstorm said with a noticable slight edge in his voice.
The group went to the left and saw that there was a long hallway and at the end of it was a massive door that was on the floor smashed and laying next to the door was a broken collar that was attached to a chain that led into the room. Brainstorm looked towards the Dinobots with a cautious expression "Ok we need approach as carefully as possible."Brainstorm said with a hushed tone as he proceeded to walk towards the cage at slow manner with the Dinobots following close behind.
Brainstorm held the rifle tightly in his hand as he was careful not to step on anything that would make a loud sound alerting Emberblaze to their presence. When Brainstorm got closer to the door he slowly peeked around the corner and saw Emberblaze sleeping soundly in the middle of his enclosure, Brainstorm looked over at the Dinobots "He's here."He whispered then he looked over at Emberblaze still sleeping.
Then he slowly got down on one knee and carefully loaded the dart in the rifle and cocked it then he aimed it at Emberblaze and he with the pull of the trigger the dart shot out of the rifle and hit Emberblaze right in the neck giving him the full dose of the Stasis. "Got him."Brainstorm said triumphantly just then Emberblaze's eyes shot open feeling the prick of the needle and he lifted his head staring directly at Brainstorm and Dinobots who looked at the Predacon with confusion and then at Brainstorm.
"Uh correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't he be I don't know In stasis right now?"Swoop asked with slight panic "Yeah slight issue with the stasis dart i wasn't able to fix:it takes a little time to kick in."
"What?!"Sludge exclaimed "Are you kidding me right now?!"Slug said looking like he was going to tear Brainstorm a new waste disposal unit the Predacon let out a growl as it began to stand up and it began to stomp towards them causing them to back up into the hallway.
Brainstorm suddenly dropped the rifle and put his hands up making Emberblaze pause as it stared at Brainstorm "Theres no need for further hostility Emberblaze."Brainstorm said in a calm tone "Uh Brainstorm what are you doing?"Sludge asked in confusion.
"I'm going to get you out of here and off this doomed planet Emberblaze, I promise you."Brainstorm said with a firm tone Emberblaze just stared at Brainstorm for a second then with a snarl Emberblaze flicked Brainstorm with its head sending Brainstorm flying past the Dinobots and collided with the other door on the other end of the hallway Brainstorm collapsed to the ground unconscious.
The Dinobots looked at Emberblaze who continued to stomp towards them menacingly. "Ahh I knew this wouldn't work!"Slug said pulling out his swords "What do we do?"Swoop asked staring at Emberblaze who was still coming Grimlock knew there was only one thing left to do "We fight, Dinobots this way!"Grimlock said as he broke off into a run with the other Dinobots following close behind and Emberblaze chasing them.
"I thought we were going to fight?"Swoop asked in confusion as to why they were running "We are,we're just going to take the fight outside."Grimlock responded the Dinobots continued to run through the hallways of the laboratory with Emberblaze chasing after them.
The Dinobots entered the wrecked lab room and quickly bursted through the doors of the hallway much to Emberblaze's frustration then it turned to the hole it made in the wall and started to climb up to get to the outside.
The Dinobots exited the hallway and climbed onto the elevator and accended to the top floor they exited the elevator and ran outside to the front of the building just in time to see Emberblaze come out of the hole in the ground and stomp towards the Dinobots who got their weapons ready.
