Luz, Willow, Gus, Viney, Skara and Amity managed to get Maxwell back on his feet and he had his vision back while he appeared to be recovering from his fainting spell. He took a minute to process everything that his shadow copies seen when he absorbed them back into his body and mind. He was a bit surprised, shocked yet confused at the same time. He tried his best to process it all.
Willow had explained the entire events of what they went through when they were recruiting members for Flyer Derby, their interaction with Hunter, what Hunter planned and did, the events of how they got kidnapped and almost forced to be in the Emperor's Coven, their interactions with Darius, the Abomination's Coven Head, how Maxwell's shadow copies kept them alive and defended, how one of them reprimanded Professor Hermonculus for his actions against Willow but also attempted to prevent him from getting fired from his job. The way how Maxwell's shadow copy reprimanded Hunter and Darius but also offered them a chance at doing the right thing, changing for the better and redemption when he preached God to them which somewhat got through to them.
Maxwell allowed Luz and Amity to explain what they went through when they went off to find out if Mildred Featherwhyle really was human, witch or both or to find out if she really was in the demon realm as well as how they found out that she's human and were to find out that Tinella Nosa was in disguise as the author of the Azura books but she didn't write the books which she shown them that it was Tibbles who ran a scam that he did with the books as human objects would leak into their world but he was altering parts of the appearances of the author to make a sale but it didn't go so well. Amity, Maxwell and Tinella were there to comfort Luz when she was disappointed, but she shown that she had fun with the fan theories that her and Amity came up with and how Maxwell gave Tibbles a scare to reprimand him of his sexist, prejudice and disrespectful behavior towards them and women and how he was offering Mattholomule the same chance he offered Hunter and Darius for forgiveness, redemption and to change for the better as he also preached to him about God and what he wants him to do while he attempted to apologize to Luz for his past actions, he might not have been very good at it but he managed to make it a subtle apology to her.
"So you're thinking that this Golden Guard might actually side with us and possibly the Coven Head of the Abominations Coven as well?" said Amity appearing to not trust the two.
"It's strange but it's possible. Maxie's shadow copy was able to command their attention, and as he was preaching to them about God and what he wants them to do, he got through to them. Sure, both Maxie's shadow copy and Hunter convinced Darius to not attack them, even if Maxie's shadow copy cancelled out his magic to do so. I think we managed to get through to Hunter while Maxie's shadow copy cemented their path to redemption and change when he had a talk with them, he did slap them both and reprimanded them which I figured was to probably warn them if they didn't stop their evil actions, they'd end up in a worse place. Amity, I know, you don't trust those two and we all know how you feel about Luz's safety and feelings, you're very protective of her and so are we. But maybe we could try and give Hunter and Darius a chance like Maxie's shadow copies offered them. But if they show they didn't change, then we'll all join in with you on giving them a smackdown and admit you're right all along." Willow explained while appealing to Amity's mercy for Hunter and Darius.
Amity stood there for a moment. She knew that this was no one's fault. The ones at fault were Hunter, Darius, the Coven Scouts and Tibbles for both situations they all faced. She knew that Maxwell was a man of God and he did preach about forgiveness and redemption here and there yet she also didn't want anyone hurting her friends, or Luz, or anyone she loves as well as she didn't want anyone putting them in danger. She didn't trust Hunter or Darius for that matter but she knew that if they were willing to change when Maxwell's shadow copies got through to them by preaching about God to them. She knew this was going to be as Maxwell calls it a "leap of faith" in his exact words. Amity sighed and looked at Willow, Gus, Viney and Skara.
"If Hunter, Mattholomule and Darius so much as harm, put any of you or Luz in danger or shows they'll never change and their loyalty is with the Emperor. No one will ever find their bodies when I'm done with them." Amity warned but sighed again. "But I know that you guys are not to blame for what happened."
"No argument from me. But this is a pretty big leap of faith but if my shadow copies and myself got through to Darius, Mattholomule and Hunter to see the light. I'm willing to take that leap of faith." Maxwell chimed in with agreement.
"I don't mean to change the subject or anything but Maxie, how did things go with you, Professor Hermonculus and Principal Bump when you escorted him there as he confessed his actions to him? How did it go?" asked Gus.
They looked at Maxwell and he shown a stoic expression at first but he had an idea on how he could explain that event to them.
"I can show you." said Maxwell as he held out his hands. "All of us have to hold onto each other's hands. Hold onto each other's hands in a circle as long as I'm in the circle with you."
Luz, Amity, Willow and Gus knew that this meant he was going to let them see the events spoken of through his mind but Viney and Skara were both knew to this. They all obeyed as they all formed a circle and held onto each other's hands. That's when Luz held onto Maxwell's right hand and Amity took hold of his left hand. Maxwell closed his eyes for a moment and once he opened them, his eyes were glowing white and so did the other kid's eyes and they saw what he shown them through his mind of the spoken events.
They saw a silver void at first but then the void transformed into the school, they were shown to be in Principal Bump's office during the sunny day. The only people in his office were Maxwell, Principal Bump and Professor Hermonculus. Principal Bump appeared to be stoic.
"Everything you're telling me is a confession, Archibald?" said Principal Bump.
Professor Hermonculus hung his head in shame as there was a tinge of fear on his face. He nodded twice.
"I was biased against Willow Park. I was biased against her because she left my class for another that you suggested. I assumed she was a quitter or that she dropped my class for a negative reason. I tried to get her to step down as captain of the Flyer Derby, I made a deal with her that if she could lead her team to victory, I'd approve of her club and her team, I had a team of my own to play against hers, while her team put up an impressive play of the game, I used my magic to knock her off her staff when they were winning and I was out, I lied about saying my hand slipped, but even members from my Flyer Derby team as well as Willow's team didn't like my actions, Maxwell was there to make sure no one got hurt as both him and Willow managed to make sure that Willow landed on something to cushion the landing. Their team won regardless of my harmful actions. I did it and I'm sorry." Professor Hermonculus apologized while confessing. "What I did to Willow Park is despicable and after Mr. Logan reprimanded me and had me see what I did was wrong. I believe I've seen the light."
"Mr. Logan, is this true?" asked Principal Bump.
"Yes. But me and Willow already reprimanded him for his actions, and I did preach about God to him because I knew that even though his actions made him not deserving of forgiveness or the likes of such human emotions. The good lord wanted me to get through to him in order for him to walk the path of forgiveness and redemption. He needs this job as much as you need yours. Was his actions a fireable offense? Yes, but God has a plan for him and the only way to begin that plan is if you reconsider and not fire him. I'll admit, he does need to serve a punishment but there's got to be some other way he could serve it out without firing him. I managed to get through to him with God and just like the lord, I too preach about forgiveness when both me and God knows that they should be forgiven. Professor Hermonculus already apologized to Willow and we already reprimanded him for his negative actions. But maybe there's a punishment that he could serve out that doesn't result in him losing his job. Something that could promote more of a positive impact for future references." Maxwell explained while attempting to plead for the professor. "God would want to do what is right, even Professor Hermonculus did step out of line and did a fireable offense, still, God wants you to give him a chance at redemption and forgiveness as he's now seen the light that shines bright as the Heavens itself. I'm in the way of knowing things but I know that if we don't listen to the lord, we end up in the worst place none of us want to be in. I only know that God wants you to take this leap of faith and with God's help, you will stand and walk taller than you ever have. When I came to the Boiling Isles, everything that happened afterwards was a leap of faith for me, I was terrified but that leap of faith led to something miraculous. Your will is free as that of Eve in the Garden, but this is what God wants of you."
Seeing and hearing Maxwell preach about God, Christianity and his will of what he wants Principal Bump to do in an attempt to save the abominations teacher's job but also to try giving God and Christianity a chance in his life has left the principal slightly intrigued by how wise Maxwell sounded. He did remember that Maxwell has saved the teachers, students and the school itself from many dangers that have come and gone. He knew that none of them will be around forever but he felt curious about where this will lead them to. Principal Bump has shown to trust Maxwell in such situations, even if he needed some convincing from him and others. He saw that Professor Hermonculus was showing submission to him and was ready to take on his punishment. Principal Bump sighed.
"Mr. Logan does have a compelling point. While Archibald's actions are a fireable offense. Mr. Logan is right. Archibald, everyday after school for the next two weeks, you'll be on clean up duty around the school. I'll assign you to what needs cleaning up and once you're done, you go home, but each day for two weeks, you'll be cleaning something different yet we'll make sure you don't overwork yourself. You'll be doing that after school for two weeks. But even though you apologized to Willow Park, I'd like for you to do it one more time." Principal Bump instructed.
Professor Hermonculus looked up at Principal Bump with an odd sense of relief while Maxwell remained stoic but also relieved that he got through to the principal to show some mercy to the teacher.
"God wins again as his mercy will prevail over his wrath just as my mercy prevails over my own wrath. Proving that God is always good. The guilt erasing itself from the blackboard as our sins find atonement. The will of God be done. All is forgiven." Maxwell said.
Professor Hermonculus shown to have approached Maxwell and embraced him which he adjusted himself to lower himself down and placed one arm around him.
"Remember what I've said, Professor Hermonculus." Maxwell told him in his ear.
"Even though I don't deserve it. I'll do it. I might not be very good at it at first, but I know I can try as it's the best we can do." said Professor Hermonculus as he shed a tear from relief. "Maybe I could try giving faith a chance if this is what God wants of me."
"Then you're on your way." said Maxwell.
Maxwell got up to his feet while Principal Bump was slightly questioning everything but he knew somehow that Maxwell was right.
"Mr. Logan, judging by a lot of hardships you've been through. How is it you've become who you are and why the mercy even when we don't deserve it?" asked Principal Bump curiously.
"I've became who I am because of my mother. May she rest in peace with God. My mother was the one person who shown me love and that the world isn't as dark as we were led to believe. Why the mercy? Because God wants me to be merciful and bring more people to see the light just as me and my mother see the light. I'll admit that God hasn't spoken to me directly like you'd think but he's spoken to me by showing me signs that he's with me and listening to me. A leap of faith brought me here and I have no regrets." said Maxwell as he shown some wisdom. "You both need this job just as much as anyone who works here and regardless of our actions. There are times when God wants me to help out with the people and other times when he wants me to convince the one in power to show mercy upon someone. The mercy being shown to Professor Hermonculus is more of a slap on the wrist but also a reminder to him on what could happen if he repeats such biased actions."
The two adults looked on at him as if they were talking to a wise old man. His words were wise yet serving a soft warning on any future negative actions towards the innocent. Maxwell was right and the two adults nodded. Maxwell shown to be leaving the principal's office but he did shake hands with them both.
That's when Principal Bump shown to notice something that he didn't expect to see. There, he saw that Maxwell shook hands with Professor Hermonculus and just after that, the abominations teacher shown to have gone from having his hair going bald to now being a full head of thick, medium length, wavy green hair as if his hair loss problem had been cured.
"Archibald, your hair!" Principal Bump pointed out.
"What?! Did I go fully bald?" said Professor Hermonculus as he pulled out a hand sized mirror.
As Professor Hermonculus looked at himself in the hand mirror. It shown Maxwell smiling as he left the office and he heard Professor Hermonculus scream with joy as he saw his hair had grown back completely to full glory.
Everything faded to black and once everyone blinked. Luz, Maxwell, Amity, Willow, Gus, Viney and Skara had their eyes turn back to their original colors and they saw they came back out of Maxwell's mind, releasing their hands from each other. They looked on at Maxwell with surprise.
"That explains a lot." said Gus.
Willow came over to Maxwell and embraced him in a gentle yet firm hug which he blushed yet hugged her back. He could tell or sense why Willow was hugging him.
"I'm glad you made sure that he wasn't fired while I'm glad that you did what you did in my defense." said Willow with a grin.
"Even though Professor Hermonculus did wrong to you and he's seeing the light. No one is allowed to lay their hands, fingers or magic on a woman as long as I'm still alive and breathing. Every woman should be respected and loved as well as every man deserves the same. The majority of my greatest lessons in living, life, respect towards women as well as helping them and others, and being a respectable human being came from my mother. Everyone needs a person in their life like my mother." Maxwell said proudly.
"And every loving woman needs a Maxwell Logan as well as every loving man needs an Eda Clawthorne." said Willow. "Thanks for doing what you did for me, Professor Hermonculus and all of us."
"I'll be like this till the day I pass on and meet the lord himself." said Maxwell. "I might be a little hesitant in trusting Hunter and Darius with how they'll try to change and possibly join the side of good, but if they're willing try. Maybe there's hope for them."
Everyone was aware that Maxwell has always been a holy man but knew when to fight back against those who try to hurt anyone he loves. Seeing him give even Hunter or Darius, a Coven Head, a chance at changing and redemption was new to them and even Maxwell himself. But they knew he had good intentions for it.
"You're sure we can trust Hunter, Mattholomule and Darius?" asked Amity a bit hesitant.
"If I end up being proven wrong. Then may God have mercy on us both for what we do with them." said Maxwell showing compliance to her. "I just hope that this leap of faith will work."
"It's worked before." said Skara.
"True." Maxwell agreed.
"Makes me wonder what we'll tell Eda about all these events?" Luz blurted out.
Hearing Luz say that left him to blush, utter a hiccup and appeared nervous. He knew that they'll have to inform Eda about the events that happened that day which he was worried about how she'll react or take the news. Luz took hold of Maxwell's hand as consolation to him which had some success in calming him.
"Sorry if that left you feeling nervous but we'll tell her together." said Luz with a word of comfort.
"Okay, but let's get everyone home first. I volunteer to give everyone some form of a safe escort home. Everyone is probably tired out and my way of getting them home will probably be a lot faster, easier and they won't tire themselves out." Maxwell volunteered.
"What would this faster method be?" asked Skara curiously.
"Teleportation. I've used it a few times and it's as safe as tying one's shoes. Just hang onto me and don't let go. Once we teleport. You'll be at the front of your home and be within walking distance of your home." reassured Maxwell as he raised his hands and arms up. "Just hang onto to me."
Skara knew that she can trust Maxwell and so did everyone else since Luz, Willow, Gus and Amity have experienced this before with teleporting or being teleported somewhere by the assistance of Maxwell. They all gathered around Maxwell and embraced him like a group hug.
"On the count of three?" Skara suggested.
"Sure." said Maxwell. "One, two, three."
They all suddenly disappeared in a puff of gold smoke and teleported out of the area they were in. Maxwell made sure everyone was returned safely to their homes as each one of them was dropped off at the front of their houses. Amity, Willow, Gus, Viney, Skara were all home and that's when Maxwell and Luz were teleported back to the Owl House.
"I sometimes wonder if the girls at school have a crush on you." said Luz with a chuckle.
"I've noticed some of them shown signs of that but they know I'm already engaged to the one woman that's the love of my life." Maxwell replied while blushing with a grin.
The two walked up towards the Owl House but the door opened before Maxwell could place his hand on the doorknob. The door opened and it was Lilith who was at the door.
"Lilith, what brings you here?" said Luz.
"I was coming over to inform you all about something I found out." answered Lilith.
They all walked inside and once the door closed. Eda was standing in the living room as she appeared to sense that Luz and Maxwell had a bit of long yet adventurous day.
"Everything at school went okay?" asked Eda.
"Everything was surprisingly fine but we have something to confess." Luz said.
Maxwell shown submission towards Eda and nodded as he hoped that Eda wouldn't react with rage but would be calm enough to hear them out and understand the situation.
"I'm all ears. But is there any bad news?" asked Eda with a raised eyebrow.
"At first, there was, but something good happened to rectify the situation." said Maxwell truthfully.
Luz and Maxwell explained to Eda, Lilith, King and Hooty the events they all went through that day and as they explained everything. Eda listened and was slightly wide eyed yet surprised to learn the events that transpired that day. Maxwell told the whole truth as much as Luz also told the whole truth. Even everyone else listening was surprised to hear something that they didn't think they'd hear in a million years.
"So Luz's book club got approved, Maxie kept a watchful eye out for Luz's safety, Boscha got in trouble for her bullying, again, that Golden Nerd infiltrated the school to recruit some students to join the Emperor's Coven, even though he was using an alias since everyone there had no idea who he is without his mask or uniform, Maxie had made shadow copies of himself to keep Willow, Gus and everyone that joined Willow's Flyer Derby safe and unharmed, the abominations teacher tried to have Willow step down as captain of her team for some biased reasons you told me, Willow's team won, beat the abominations teacher, reprimanded him for making Willow fall off her staff, made sure Willow had a safe landing, reprimanded the abominations teacher for his actions, he confessed his actions to the principal, Maxie convinced him to not fire him but go for a different punishment that doesn't require firing him as he now saw the light thanks to Maxie, restored the abominations teacher's hair and is no longer bald, Maxie's shadow copies made sure the Golden Goon didn't harm anyone, exposed him of his plans, they got taken by the Coven Scouts, Maxie didn't lay a hand on them since one of them was a woman, gotten nabbed by Darius Dorkus, Maxie's shadow copy and Willow and her team found a way out to escape, Hunter actually befriended them and saved them from Darius's wrath, Maxie's shadow copy slapped them both, had them reprimanded, gave them a warning but also a chance to change for the better as he knows that the Emperor is only using them for his purposes and that he'll probably scrap them off his boot once they're of no use to him anymore, preached about the big man having a plan for the two, advised them to severe their ties with the Emperor and his coven, convinced them to see the light, they let Willow and everyone go, Luz, Amity and Maxie went to find out if the author to those Azura books was at the Book Nook, you found out that the author really is a human and not a witch nor a hybrid, that evil swine loser Tibbles turned out to be altering the author's picture to scam and make a profit when that lady Tiny Nose helped expose Tibbles after you found her and Maxie apologized to her for all three of you chasing her and for the fact he delved into her mind to see who she really is, she forgiven him and was really sweet to the three of you, Tibbles got verbal with you and his views crossing the line, Amity knocked him around a bit, Maxie reprimanded him, gave him a hilarious scare that led him to run into a cave wall, which was funnier, Luz might've been disappointed but you all comforted her but she appeared to of had fun with these fan theories both her and Amity came up with, Maxie reprimanded that short stop Matty what's his name and was convincing him to apologize to Luz for his past actions, Maxie convinced him to take a chance at joining the side of good, you ran into Willow and everyone, all of you discussed the events of what you all went through that day, anyone who felt betrayed was comforted and convinced that the three should be given a chance to join the side of good with us thanks to Maxie's preaching of the big man, and if the three were to try anything funny, then they've been warned that they'll face severe consequences. I got all of this correct so far?" Eda listed off.
"Yes." said Luz and Maxwell in unison.
"I would've told you sooner to come help us out but I figured that I could help bail our friends out on my own this time. But if things got too much for us, then I'd inform you telepathically to come and give us a hand. But I do know I should've informed you of the situation when it came up and allowed you to step in like you advised me to. I'm sorry I didn't do that." Maxwell apologized.
Eda looked at Luz and Maxwell for a moment and came over to them both as she embraced them in her arms as she gave a smile.
"I'm glad you two are alright as well as your friends. But just try not to take on something so dangerous like that unless I'm with you or unless Maxie is with you all to handle the situation. I know, with every child, they'll one day exercise their independence more but I just want to be there for you two so I can know all is well with you two." said Eda relieved. "But I sure wish I was there to see Maxie in action when he scared Tibbles to look white as a ghost when he ran into a cave wall, that was funny, and I do wish I could've seen Maxie convince those three twerps to join the side of good because I'll admit. When Maxie is bringing out his holy man side, I find it beautiful to see that."
"We'll be sure to that you can assist us whenever we get into a situation that's appearing too much for us or in case Maxie or Amity is out of commission to keep me and my friends safe." Luz reassured.
"Agreed." said Maxwell blushing and felt relieved. "You actually find my preaching beautiful? I'll admit, I always felt like my preaching was mainly used for authoritative reasons."
"Well, you do use it when being authoritative but you also use it to show people love when they need it most, when laying down the law, speak out of respect for a woman or even for someone or more you love or helping someone whose been wronged or righting a wrong. Everytime you've done that. You practically got everyone on your side without fail. So you always preach with good intentions and for the right reasons." Eda assured.
Eda kissed Luz on her forehead and kissed Maxwell on his lips which this made Maxwell blush and feel a warm sensation throughout his body and mind. Eda released her arms from them as she stood there to face them.
"Hallelujah." said Maxwell nearly fainting.
"Let's get him to sit down." Eda chuckled.
Eda and Luz managed to get him over to the couch as he sat down and they took sat down with him.
"I think Eda and Maxie might as well be a match made in heaven." said Lilith.
"That we are." Eda chuckled. "Who's hungry? And Lily can join us."
"After a long day. I'm sure we all are." said Luz.
They got up from the couch and both Eda, Luz, King, Maxwell and Lilith walked towards the kitchen. Hooty joined them as he extended his body out towards the kitchen. What everyone didn't know was that what Darius whispered into Maxwell's ear was something that would shock anyone. The only person who knew was Maxwell but no one else. He felt guilty for leaving that out of the explanation when both him and Luz told Eda and everyone about the events they experienced today. He knew he had to tell them but he remembered that Darius advised him not to say a word about it yet.
