Beauty and the....Yasha??
Hello again all! Please be kind, since this would be my first long InuYasha fic.
Disclaimer: I don't own InuYasha, even though I wish I owned Sesshomaru…Oh Well…They are copyright of their respective owners.
Thanks again to Katgome, who puts up with my cliffhangers.
Prologue
Kagome sat at her window for the final time. She was leaving home at last for parts unknown. Never again would she sleep in her huge bed or be again and again pushed into marrying that unfeeling, heartless Koga. She stood up, strapped her bag and bow securely to her back. Took one last look around her room, taking in the sight and the smell of it before finally walking down the stairs and out the door. It shut slowly behind her, a small squeak to mark her passing.
He growled, again his birthday passed without sign of the curse ending. Watching as more petals fell from the cherry blossom tree, he fell by it and started to weep. Hopelessness slowly overcoming him. Shippo watched from the garden's entrance as his master cried, wishing that someone could help him and the others trapped under this spell. Every year, they slipped farther and farther into the darkness with no light in sight. "I hope she comes soon" Shippo whispered as the rain slowly started to fall.
Chapter 1- Just a dog? Or something more?
Her brown eyes shifted to the growing darkness. " Why does it have to get dark so fast?" Kagome wondered out loud as she continued to make her way though the gnarled trees of the Kusanagisama Forest. Of course it didn't help that it was pouring down rain. By the time she had made it a little ways from her home it had started to rain and now it had seem to grow worse just as she was coming to a place she didn't know. She mumbled to herself as she tripped over a branch, for the fifth time. Kagome started to wonder if this was such a good idea as the wolves started to howl again. Lightning flashed, and she jumped in fright. "Great, just what I needed." She grumbled and started to run for any cover she could find.
A little ways up the trail, "Why do I have to go out in this rainstorm to find the Master's blasted seeds?!" A little red-headed boy grumbled. He continued to walk down the road toward a gigantic tree. It's bark was gnarled and brittle, but it still produced enough seeds to keep his master happy. Stopping short, he sniffed the air, "No...It can't be..." The boy ran to the tree.
"Lord Sesshomaru?? How?" A man with gleaming white hair stood next to the tree hold a girl's limp body in his arms. A flash of lightning struck again and only a wolf stood in the man's place with the body beside it. Nudging the girl's form closer to the boy, the wolf jumped over one of the tree's roots and disappeared behind it.
"Oh no...Master isn't going to like this..." The boy walked over to the girl, and felt for a sign of life.
"Good, well at least she is still alive. I guess I better take her back.." He looked down at her.
"Maybe she is the one..." With that he called over to his mount, a squat little pony of red and brown hues, and some how managed to get the girl on to it's back.
"I'm going to be in so much trouble..." He said as he walked back to his master's home.
