Chapter Three

"The Reunion"

Even as they chained him to the center of the room and closed his cell door, he said not a word. He glared behind his mask at the Hokage of Konoha.

"Now Mutt, why have you come here?"

"Why don't you come closer to these bars and find out?" This man was... He felt himself inwardly growl.

Danzō's jaw tightened as he closed his eyes and reined in his emotions. Now that the demon of fire country was in their possession, the challenge would be to get it to cooperate.

"I forgot myself you did come willingly you are our guest here."

The demon held up his shackles-bound wrist, "is this how you treat all your guests?"

"This is a precaution. You killed over a hundred of my men. How do I know your intentions?"

The demon shrugged. He had him there. "I came for the genin that attacked me three days ago."

"The what..." One Jonin leaned in and whispered in his ear.

"I see..." He trailed off his mouth pressed in a thin line though he didn't show it he was annoyed.

"The genin who attacked you is still unconscious she was put under for-"

"No no no not the girl." Honestly, he forgot about her.

"Does it matter which one and what do you want with Sasuke?" The demon smirked though they couldn't tell he still wore his mask so his name was Sasuke.

"I made a promise to him." That seemed to peak everybody in the concrete prison interest.

"What sort of promise would that be?"

The room went completely still as the demon stepped closer to the cell bars; he then tilted his head up in thought as he placed an index finger on the chin part of his mask.

"Dunno." He said innocently.

They all glared at him. "You're gonna have to ask him yourself." His loyalty was to his mate now.

He watched as Danzō and all his Jonin whispered among themselves for a few minutes. With a wave of his hand, two Jonin were off to collect the raven.

Tsunade grabbed Sasuke pulling him to the side. "I need a moment with my patient then you may collect him." She pushed Jonin out of the hospital room.

"But Tsunade-sama!"

"It'll only take a second." She slammed the door in their faces before tossing his shirt.

"Under any circumstances what we discuss here should not fall upon that man's ears."

Onyx pools are locked with burning ember ones.

When Tsunade spoke, he knew it wasn't because of her dislike for the man, but because she had a valid reason for not trusting him. He nodded as he tried to slip his shirt over his head. However, the pain from bruising his ribs made it unbearable, so Tsunade stepped in to help him."I know this sounds insane but the demon risked it all to speak with you at least hear him out, please." Her lips pressed.

"Do you know something?"

She broke eye contact, "You better get going." That was a sure sign she was done talking.

Konoha's Prison

All eyes were on him as he strolled down the long hallway of Konoha prison. He watched as Jonin parted for him like the red sea. He paused only when Hatake Kakashi stepped out placing a hand on his left shoulder. Their eyes were locked. His sensei gave him a squeeze before nodding to his student. They had a mutual understanding as Sasuke continued his journey. It felt like he walked in the shadow of death well that's what felt like his fellow shinobi looked at him like he was already dead. He wasn't sure what he was walking into.

Just then the double doors guarding the prison were opened from the other side. He stepped into the unknown to see Danzō standing a substantial distance from the prison bars where the demon was housed. They had binding seals etched into each bar. This is because the demon paced his cage like a wild animal. The scraping of his chain being dragged across concrete was the only noise. Sasuke doubted the bars or the seal could hold this man.

Just then his head jerked over to Sasuke. He paused in his pacing coming to the cell bars which he curled his tanned finger over.

"Hi," he said breathlessly like he received a gush of fresh air. His porcelain mask clung against the hardened steel bars as he pressed against them.

Danzō was watching them like a hawk no words were spoken on his part.

"Did ya miss me?" He could hear the amusement now.

The raven shook his head what was wrong with this demon? "Baka..." He muttered under his breath a soft pink spreading on his cheeks.

Danzō had grabbed him by his shirt collar whispering harshly into his ear. "I need you to get this demon's cooperation. He said he made a promise to you."

Sasuke looked at Danzō like he had grown another head, however, Danzō had eagerly shoved him closer to the cell bars.

It was like they were back there in the forest, "Who are you?"

"Why'd don't you come closer and I'll show ya."

"Is that a threat?" His fist clenched.

The demon laughed backing away from the bars he kept on laughing something Sasuke had said amused him thoroughly.

"What the hell is so funny!" He snapped.

"That was no threat. Quite the opposite if you find having me screwing your brains out a threat then yeah... I guess."

He could see his fellow shinobi exchange looks chuckling amongst themselves, even Danzō had to clear his throat. Evidently, he wasn't amused like the others.

"Trust me you are the last person in this room I would ever harm that you have my word." He was back to serious.

Sasuke scoffed, "How can I trust you? You didn't seem this adamant back in the forest."

"You started it, and trust I was gonna finish it, but you convinced me otherwise. I am a man of my word no harm will come to you." The demon stuck his hand out beckoningly at the raven though it was no command Sasuke felt his legs almost willingly move. He could have killed him back in the forest but didn't.

He approached the demon who was kneeling. Hesitantly, Sasuke reached his arms through the bars of the cell. He placed both hands on the mask and sucked in a breath as he slipped the mask over the demon's head. What he saw were bright molten gold pools and horizontal pupils staring back at him. The demon's spiky blonde locks were pointed to the heavens, and six thick black whiskers covered the demon's cheeks, but he suddenly closed his eyes and took large breaths. Blonde hair fell over his face, golden irises dripping into deep blue like an ocean's depths.

"Minato..." Danzō whispered taking a couple of steps back.

"No." The demon countered he glared over at Konoha's Hokage menacingly.

He rose to his full stature. "I am the same child you tried to have murdered seventeen years ago."

"Naruto Impossible!"

"Oh, it's possible old man. This would be the perfect moment for me to tell you to kiss my ass but you're not worth my time." The blonde smirked his blue orbs were smiling just like foxlike slits.

His eyes were back to that golden color his rage strong enough to split the cell in two. Sasuke spoke grasping onto the bars, instantly smothering Naruto's rage. In that instance, he was back to normal, but that was the wrong way to describe it the demon was far from normal he was dynamic standing there tall, confident, and unapologetic as he openly defied their Hokage in front of thirty-plus trained killers. They were close in age. It was Sasuke's first time hearing the name of the demon, and he expected the demon to be centuries old.

His reverie broke as the blonde curled both his beige fingers over Sasuke's. It was too late to jerk away. He felt a jolt of electricity as the blonde transferred his chakra into the raven. It felt like his body was on fire as translucent flames engulfed his body, absorbing Sasuke's own. This caused thousands of goosebumps to form on his limbs and an uncontrollable shiver to travel down his spine. Prior to the flames, his bruised ribs had been healed with a healing factor provided by Naruto's chakra. "I'm sure you can feel it. I hope that answers your question." He whispered. "Now leave love, I am done talking." He turned his back to the room, plopping down in his brand-new home.

Danzō had pulled Sasuke to the side once everybody had filed out.

"I need you to wear down his defenses. Obviously, he has an affinity for you. You will visit each day."

"What about the academy?"

"This will count towards it. You will be personally helping me with this." He gave a bow.
