Fenrir and Harry had been camping for about a week. Neither Fenrir nor Harry had suggested they walk further. Harry had thought that if he suggested it then it would hurt Fenrir's feelings so he was keeping quiet. Fenrir was taking care of Harry in every way. Fenrir was hunting and he built a fire every night. Harry was slowly talking more and more to Fenrir every night. Their relationship was slowly being soothed with every 'what is your favorite color?' and 'what mythical creature would you be other than a werewolf?'... The answer for Harry was blue and a dragon while Fenrir's answer was red and nothing. Fenrir was either a werewolf or nothing at all.

The questions that they asked each other tended to be not serious but their light hearted nature was the reason that their relationship was improving. Harry couldn't help but think about how within the first 48 hours of their relationship there were near death experiences, violence, and lies. They needed to know each other on a more casual level before they could even think about mating. Harry thought it was nice that Fenrir actually answered his questions and thought about them before he answered. Harry could tell that Fenrir was taking this seriously because he always took his time in answering them.

Fenrir, on the other end, thought that it was vaguely frustrating that Harry was asking all of these questions. However, he could say that answering Harry's questions was improving their relationship. Fenrir huffed when he was asked, "what is your favorite food?"

He thought through everything that he had eaten and answered, "a deer's liver or maybe its heart…raw of course."

Harry grimaced at the thought of eating a heart raw but nodded at his words. Fenrir grimaced at thought of answering any more stupid questions. Fenrir knew that after his lies, Harry was the one in charge of the pacing in the relationship.

"...and what about you?" Fenrir begrudgingly asked Harry.

"Ooo! It would definitely be a treacle tart! The citrusy flavor with the soft crust is indescribable. It was the first desert that I can remember eating. Some of the other kids prefer other desserts like chocolate or candy but treacle tart is definitely my favorite!"

Fenrir could see the obvious joy on his face. Harry practically lit up at the sound of treacle tart.

"Well I guess I should try it out sometime."

"Oh Merlin! You have never had treacle tart! You're in for a treat. The joy that came from that treat was indescribable."

"..it must be if you can remember it so clearly."

Harry's responding chuckle sounded a bit nervous. "Yeah, I guess I have a pretty good memory."

Fenrir thought he could smell a lie, but he decided to not call Harry out on it. Afterall it would probably make his little mate uncomfortable to know that he can't lie to him.

Harry thought that the air was getting a bit too serious, these questions were getting too serious. It was supposed to be lighthearted.

"...so what's your favorite season?" Fenrir made a confused look. "You know, like winter or spring?"

Fenrir nodded in understanding, "Spring."

Harry was surprised, "I personally love fall! School and quidditch season both start in the fall and it is also an excuse to have butterbeer and warm sweaters." Winter can be a bit sad and summer is usually boring without school."

Harry's words petered off and he seemed to stare off into the distance.

"I like the spring because the forest wakes up after a long slumber. It is usually a sign of hope for future prosperity… Also, I rather like the taste of bunny rabbits and it's easier to find them in the spring."

Harry was startled when Fenrir first spoke up but then settled for a smile at hearing his words. "Yeah, it definitely is a hopeful time. The smell of flowers and having picnics at the lake are rather nice."

It may be a nice time but for Harry it was often a harsh awakening to the fact that he can't stay at Hogwarts forever.

They settled in for the night. Fenrir made sure to give Harry the softest grass in the clearing and Harry made sure that Fenrir could see him clearly. One night, Harry had slept out of his direct sight and the next day Fenrir was grumpy from the lack of sleep.

The next morning, Fenrir ran off to find food before Harry woke up. Harry woke to the sun on his face and slowly stretched out. Sitting up he was rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. Harry looked around and decided to grab some sticks for their fire. He was trying to figure out how to ask Fenrir about traveling again. They had been sleeping in this clearing for at least a week and Harry knew that they weren't going to travel again until he said something. He knew that Fenrir would be sad that Harry still wants to go to Hogwarts but he needs to see his friends.

Harry added sticks to the fire to keep it going and waited for Fenrir. He had tried to gather food one time but Fenrir didn't like the look of the mushrooms he picked.

As Harry was sitting and waiting for Fenrir, Sirius Black was only five miles away. He was being led in circles by Aspen but didn't know it yet.

Aspen was beginning to worry that Sirius was going to figure her out. She placated him with words that her Alpha was taking the long way and that they were doubling back a lot to find the trail. Since Sirius was only a dog animagus, he didn't have strong enough sense to know any better. After spending more time with Sirius, Aspen was 100% sure of one fact. Sirius Black, a wizard, was definitely her mate. Though she was a bit confused. Sirius Black was Remus Lupin's mate so were they a triad or an awkward love triangle fighting over one human.

Shaking her head of her troubles she turned to Sirius, "We need to take a break. You should rest here while I find something."

She ran away in her wolf form before Sirius could argue. The first few days that they knew each other he had argued every single time, but now he just nodded. Aspen was determined to take care of her weak human mate.

Sirius watched her run away and slightly smiled. She was super determined and very tough. He admired her strength and knew that she was his best bet for survival and for finding his godson. Sirius used his wand to conjure a fire and set up a small temporary camp. Sirius didn't know where they were but he did know some survival basics. He had been patrolling Hogwarts for months and knew how to go camping… of course, Sirius knew that he was always close enough to Hogwarts to not worry about his safety.

Sitting near the fire, Sirius transfigured a log comfy enough to sit on. He sat and thought about what he was going to do. Hearing a branch crack, Sirius turned to Aspen to ask her a question about where they were going. Before he could speak, Sirius felt a body crash into his own.

"Sirius! What are you doing here!?"

Sirius was stunned and if he was in dog form his tail would have wagged so hard it would have fallen off. It was his godson!

"Harry! I found you! Or wait, you found me!"

Sirius hugged his godson tight. And when he looked behind Harry, he saw one of the most menacing men he had seen in his life. This was probably Aspen's Alpha.
