Arriving at home after picking up Eri from primary school, Inko entered the apartment while turning on the lights to keep her adoptive daughter from tripping over herself. It truly amazed the single mother to see a girl who suffered through the worst of what life had to offer and still was able to smile like she did now. She placed her tote bag of groceries and purse onto the dining room table in order to start putting away her bounty for dinner when she saw a letter on said table. The envelope was a more western style of stationary with her name on the side facing upwards. Her attention fell upon the mysterious letter addressed to Inko as she placed her things upon the table and opened the message by tearing off one of the shorter sides of the envelope so that she could pull the paper inside free to read it.
Eri noticed her adoptive mother's behavior shift as the woman's expression shifted into a face that made the child anxious. Approaching her mother, she tugged on the woman's long skirt to get her attention.
"Momma? Are you okay?"
Inko recognized Eri immediately and apologized before pulling the child into her lap as she kept reading the letter addressed to her. A lot of characters that Eri didn't recognize were scattered throughout the writing on the note being read by the woman. Not being able to immediately piece together why her mother started to cry, Eri did her best to comfort her loving parent with her words and physical affection.
The breaking mother embraced her precious daughter after she finished reading the heart wrenching letter left for her and her family. Eri remained strong for her mother as the poor woman tried her best to keep herself from losing herself into her sorrow. As a child, Eri would not be able to understand the contents of the letter until much later into her life.
Elsewhere
Stood in silence against one another was Bloodsoaked and the heroes all about to try and take down the infamous killer. A significantly smaller amount of heroes now remained to take on the murderer, though the heroes remaining had a much more level mentality about them in the face of their opponent. This group of combatants were far more competent in the face of their opponent as Bloodsoaked broke eye contact with Izuku. Several heroes couldn't help but notice the stare the killer and the junior hero calling himself Emerald Paragon shared just now. Masks did little to disguise their temporary visual confrontation just now.
Returning his attention to the multitude of heroes still intent on bringing him in, a refocused Bloodsoaked didn't even bother hiding his rage from every single hero attempting to take him down.
"... I'm done with all of you."
It etched a deep seated respect amongst the more experienced heroes there to feel the fear they felt from just being in the presence of this once fabled killer. Not even the sight of their unconscious comrades instilled the respect they felt from seeing the true cruel nature Bloodsoaked had been capable of emanating by just standing still.
Without warning, a hand with an explosive presented itself before the pin hooked into the grenade yanked the metal ring free. On top of this, the metal lever preventing the chemical reaction inside of the explosive popped off when Bloodsoaked let the thin bar of steel jump loose from the volatile explosive.
"Now run, little insects."
He let the rounded piece of explosive weaponry drop as some of the other heroes ran for cover. Those who guided their allies or leapt for the potential danger were the rare examples of those capable of going above and beyond their own survival instincts.
As the retreating party made a break for it, a spare few all raced towards either him or the explosive he just armed in order to prevent Bloodsoaked from committing any more damage than he already inflicted. Mirko, Izuku, Mezo, and Kirishima all charged to stop Bloodsoaked from detonating his ordinance. Seeing that the class of 1-A try and stop the loss of more lives at the risk of their own saddened yet also filled him with pride with how selfless these young adults were truly worthy of protecting the future. Only a fraction of a second before a deadly blast of force and shrapnel went off existed as the heroes still dove for the one who armed the explosive.
Mirko had been the one who struck the killer first. Her flying kick launched Bloodsoaked off the rooftop he stood upon into a straight line through the top floors of the skyscraper he stood upon as well as several buildings in the way of his trajectory. Her strength truly proved itself to be something to be feared in the face of a dangerous threat. She received a call through her comms that caused the woman to toss her earpiece away as she proudly faced the damage she caused on the buildings she had been tasked to protect.
"Midoriya Izuku, do you read?"
A female voice came through the comm link he still possessed within his right ear.
"Do not acknowledge you hear me. Tap your ear piece twice if you read."
Nobody noticed his subtle itching of his ear as he did as instructed.
"Operative Usagiyama Mirko has compromised the mission with her reckless destruction of property. We request that you prevent her from inflicting further damages through whatever means you wish to take. Please advise."
Thinking of the potential blowback on turning on his current commanding officer felt too much of a step in the wrong direction. For some bizarre reason unknown to him, Izuku responded to the call through his earpiece without skipping a beat.
"Copy."
By instinct, Midoriya pivoted on his next step so that he could then take aim at Mirko without alerting her to his intentions. She couldn't react quickly enough to one of her own ambushing her from behind. Izuku even unleashed his intentions upon Mirko so that she could react to his ambush. Her reaction severely lagged behind what Izuku expected as he already had the older heroine exactly where he wanted the number three hero in order to restrain her.
Utilizing his black whip to sling himself behind Mirko when she started to turn her head towards him, Izuku carefully coordinated his movement to remain out of his team leader's line of sight when he got the heroine's attention. She didn't know what hit her as her entire body couldn't react to the unexpected attack.
A cocoon of Black Whip encased Mirko in just a split second. Her body froze in a tightly wrapped human shaped bundle for Izuku to leap onto so that he could aim an open palm against the bundle of his quirk containing a very powerful hero.
"Arizona Smash."
The bundle made up of Black Whip combusted into a cloud of steam after Midoriya placed his hand on the restrained Mirko. White steam enveloped the visible area around Bloodsoaked's last known area after the attack rendered Mirko out like a lightbulb. Many of the heroes behind the heroine were caught off guard at the sight of Midoriya taking out their commanding leader out of nowhere.
"Midoriya-san?!"
"Holy Shit!"
"What are you doing, Midoriya?!"
"Jesus! Why?!"
"What the fuck?!"
Their comms all informed the heroes all out of the loop to stand down against the one who prevented further damages against the city with her reckless actions. Everyone in the squad all complied with the order after the operative who spoke to them disclosed the reasoning why Izuku took out Mirko from the operation. It certainly helped that Izuku caught Mirko in a bridal carry with a genuine look of remorse after he committed the act of supposed treason. What he saw Mirko do recklessly unfortunately fed Izuku's perception of what the damages heroes were capable of in the crossfire of their grandiose battles.
Several Months Ago
"Ah, here it is! I've been coming here for the longest time. Their strawberry cakes are to die for."
Midoriya had been willingly dragged to a bakery Kyoka wanted to share with the love of her life. Having to tell her parents that she didn't want to become a musician like her parents left the young woman in need of a distraction. She seemed keen on sharing the goods of this bakery she remembered fondly from her younger days with her boyfriend. Izuku was pulled into the bakery set upon the shopping district near Kyoka's childhood home by the arm.
"Ah, Kyoka! It's been a while, child."
"I'm so sorry, granny. I'm in school and I haven't had the time to come by as often."
Dismissing Jiro's concerns with a wave, the elderly woman at the counter spotted Izuku and smiled coyly at the boy who seemingly had Kyoka by the heartstrings by how casually she touched the young Midoriya. On her face was a knowing smile as she turned to leave the back of the front counter to embrace Kyoka in a warm hug. They exchanged updates on their personal lives as Izuku enjoyed the conversation on the sidelines.
While Kyoka and the elderly lady enjoyed their back and forth, the elder observed Izuku out of the corner of her eye. Her years of experience had the elderly female smiling at the familiar younger woman with a mischievous glint in her eye. Jiro lent the elderly person her ear for the advice she wanted to give Kyoka.
"You found a good man, Kyoka. I can tell he wants to marry you by looking at how he can't take his eyes off of you."
Being in a relationship with one man and multiple women often left Jiro a bit conflicted in how she needed to treat her loved ones. It certainly didn't help that she wasn't as physically gifted as the other women she regularly shared a bed with.
Izuku never made her feel less whenever they were together.
Whoever had Izuku for the time they had him would always benefit from his affection. Kyoka felt this affection from not only Izuku, but the rest of the women all queued up to partner up with her.
Every single partner she had in this relationship opened up and engaged Jiro in a serious dialogue to deepen the relationship she had with them. Insecurity of her physicality ended in all of her partners successfully seducing her into bed where they ravaged her until she passed out from their effort to overwhelm her with their effort to pleasure her. None of them wanted to leave Jiro unwanted based on some misconception of what she thought of herself. Tomboyish features in combination with a skinny body like hers deprived Kyoka of the confidence she desired from more developed features. The ones who first developed that knowledge that she was indeed wanted were Momo, Mina, and Izuku.
Momo had been her first crush. Years of resenting her same sex attraction towards the gorgeous Yaoyorozu heir were put to rest after the girl didn't rebuff the confession she received from her childhood friend. In fact, Momo looked absolutely adorable when she heard her childhood friend confess her feelings during a sleepover. Her stumbling of words felt far more intimate than her just being emotionally confused as a developing woman. Kyoka and Momo fell in love far before they said the words to each other in person.
Instead of acting flustered or embarrassed, Kyoka ran her hand down the arm she had hooked into her own so that she could entwine her hand into Izuku's. They held each other's hands as they simultaneously looked at each other before kissing like a newlywed couple. Realizing how intimate these young teens already were, the elderly woman felt flustered yet extremely proud that Kyoka secured a man who loved her as deeply as Izuku.
Ruining this perfect moment was a violent shockwave that shattered the front windows with the glass showering down on everything in the store. Midoriya had the reaction time to shield himself and the others with his own body to prevent excessive damage to the store itself. A hero had launched a blast of force and caused collateral damages to his surroundings in trying to take down the robbers fleeing in an armored car.
"Get outta the way, you-"
Shouting to the public standing in the way of their getaway vehicle, a group of robbers running away with their haul of convenience store cash ended with their leader being kicked in the neck and launched off of the top of his getaway vehicle with that one blow. The one to render the man flashing the yield of wealth to the frightened public had been none other than the proactive Izuku in the face of the criminals who damaged the childhood bakery of one of his dear lovers.
An unhinged group as this all met the end of their criminal careers when their leader went flying into the front of a well known bank. As expected, the heavily reinforced windows of the financial institution easily repelled the person who slammed off of the windows. A multitude of ESD vehicles all cornered the vehicles responsible for the robbery in an inescapable parameter that had the criminals mouth off against the authorities like the usual riff raff arrested against their will.
Returning to the bakery across the street after the ones responsible for the damages against said bakery met their just desserts, Izuku entered the destroyed business with a truly humbling sight to greet him.
Cleaning the floors of the bakery were Kyoka and the elderly lady still left behind in the bakery.
"Ikki! Are you okay?"
Letting Jiro press her body up into his, Midoriya scanned the damaged bakery and saw the damage wrought with the passing of a reckless robbery.
Shattered glass littered the entirety of what used to be a neat little bakery. The debris cleared out of the shop after the incident felt minimal in giving the store some dignity to remain in business as soon as the authorities finished their business to rectify the damages. Kyoka herself helped the elderly woman who provided the treats of her childhood clean up the shambles of the business she committed her entire life to building.
No hesitation came from Izuku in helping the senior clean her shop of the damages wrought upon her business. Infecting the pit of Midoriya's stomach were the early emotions of guilt.
"I'm so sorry a villain ruined this reunion of ours. Such terrible ruffians see no need to care about people like us, it seems."
Jiro offered her sympathies and still wanted to purchase the sweets that weren't damaged in the collateral. After the senior lady happily got her customers what they wanted while giving them some extra goodies, Izuku and Kyoka walked back to the bus stop to return to UA. As they were traveling back, Midoriya replayed the events that took place earlier in his head. It bothered Midoriya to see someone, who suffered from the destruction of conflicts from the fights he once idealized as just, pick up the pieces of the aftermath. People still can suffer when heroes fight against villains. That explosion left an innocent old woman to pick up the pieces of her life's work while the one who committed the actual damages just walked away with a slap on the wrist.
Being a hero needed him to be diligent. If that sort of collateral was something that could come out of his negligence, then he would rather he not be a hero at all if he could help it. Izuku committed himself to remember the people who could either be saved or suffer at his hands with every action he takes. If he truly wanted to be the greatest hero, then he wanted to do so knowing he earned the title honestly and justly.
