All right, my friends! This is the one you've been waiting for! The marriage of Skye and Chase, y'all!
Oh, and I forgot to say this last chapter. Since the lottery was drawn a few days ago, I wanted to tell you guys a story I wrote 2 years ago that's in my profile. It's called The Big Ticket. The story has the canines participating in a lottery and winning 100 million dollars. The story isn't canon in connection to other pieces I've made by the way, but I still recommend a read if you haven't seen it yet.
Anyways, enjoy hearing the wedding bells in Adventure Bay - mitch :)

chapter 4: married in adventure bay
29 DAYS LATER
Once the news of Skye and Chase's impending marriage hit the very next day, the news was spread around Adventure Bay like wildfire. The townspeople were very happy and excited about the news, and some, including Mayor Goodway and Mrs. Marjorie, even helped out with the planning.
Mayor Goodway volunteered to officiate the wedding on Ryder's behalf, and he gratefully accepted the offer. Mrs. Marjorie, along with Katie's input, used her masterful knitting skills to make dresses and the tuxedos for the canine groomsmen and the bridesmaids. Mr. Porter, along with his grandson, Alex, helped make the food for the reception (including the giant dog-friendly wedding cake). With this, along with other small contributions, the wedding preparation was easy and almost painless for Katie and Ryder, which was a huge relief.
Ryder, Chase and Skye already planned what they would do after the wedding reception itself: the boy booked a motel for them to stay the night, so they could catch an early flight to Paris the very next day.
The bachelor and bachelorette parties were held at the lookout and Everest's cabin respectively, and they were legendary, to say the least. Finally, the next morning, after the lookout was deep cleaned, Mrs. Marjorie had arrived to give the male pups their prized black tuxedos. They were very happy to try them on. Marshall, Rocky, Rubble, and Zuma wore their tuxedos with corresponding bowties representing their color in the PAW Patrol (Rubble being yellow, Zuma being orange, etc.). For Jasen, who had no significant color, he just wore a plain gray bowtie, which looked great on the border collie. They, along with Ryder, who was also dressed up to the nines, were waiting for Chase to come out of his pup house.
"I wanna see your fit, come on, my guy!" Zuma called out to the german shepherd with anticipation.
"Yeah. Just gotta straighten the bowtie…it's a pain…got it." The police dog muttered to himself. He opened the pup house door with the simple push of a button. Walking out the pup house, he felt like an absolute boss.
"Ohhhhhh shit!" The male canines gasped in surprise.
"My mans is looking fine!" Marshall complimented the groom.
"That fit is tight, my boy!" Rubble observed.
"Bro, you're already killing it." The chocolate lab expressed with pride to his german shepherd friend.
"Thanks, my guys. Really means everything." Chase expressed to his groomsmen. Having Marshall, Rubble, Rocky, Zuma and Jasen with him on stage during the greatest day of his life meant the absolute world to him. The guys had a group hug together before they saw Ryder walk outside the lookout. Even he was absolutely dripped out.
"Looking solid, Chase. We'll see you at the wedding. You got this, man. I know you do." The boy spoke. With that, all the groomsmen and Ryder departed the lookout, leaving the German shepherd all alone. But he wasn't there by himself for long. A small car was seen driving onto the bridge and towards the lookout tower. The car was an Orchard Park PD car, which had a human police officer and a distinct german shepherd in shotgun. It was a weird sight for the police dog, but once he figured out what it was, he couldn't be more relieved. It was his father. Chase was surprised that his father would show up for the wedding, knowing that Sam, his dad, was a very busy K-9 for the OPPD. The human police officer in the car was Officer Josh, who was also his owner. Sam and Chase, who hadn't seen each other for a long time, had just recently reconnected. The elder german shepherd, like his son, was very good at his job.
"Dad!" The groom smiled as he rushed over to his father.
"Chase, my son! I'm so happy for you." Sam grinned, the two embracing.
"Dad…you have no idea how grateful I am to see you. And that's a nice suit you have there." Chase complimented.
"Thanks. Your suit is way better, though. Really like the fancy bowtie." Sam pointed out.
"I thought you always worked on Fridays, though. Did you work the late night shift?" inquired Chase. Sam usually did work late nights as a K-9, and slept through the day.
"No, not at all. When you and Skye called me about the news, I was so excited that I told HR that I didn't wanna miss the greatest day of your life. And they were happy to oblige." Sam laughed.
"Thanks, Dad…you know the wedding and all? I'm not super nervous and all. I've practiced my vows in front of Marshall so many times. I got them practically memorized." Chase told his father.
"That's great, son! But there's one thing I need to tell you about weddings. As a someone who was never married." Sam plainly spoke.
"What is it?"
"You see, when I was your age, or before that, dogs didn't get married at all. The male would ask his female significant other if she wanted to mate, and that was it! But my generation was the one that started copying humans and their weddings, and it was weird. One of my colleagues…his name was Griffin, I think…got married around your age. It was the first dog wedding many of us canines had ever seen. And you wanna know something about this Griffin guy?" Sam asked his son.
"What?" The younger german shepherd replied with curiosity.
"It's that Griffin was a stone-cold emotionless robot. When he was walking up the aisle, all of us guys could tell he was crying."
"Oh my."
"But it's a good thing, believe me! It's great to show some vulnerability sometimes. It makes you feel better. So, here's the point: don't hide emotions like the tough guy you think you're supposed to be. Because, I tell you, they will come at you fast at some point today. And, I wanted to say this because I love you." Sam spoke up. Chase wasted no time and hugged his father again.
"I love you too, dad…" The younger shepherd replied quietly.
"No problem, son. I'll be sitting in the front row. Catch you there!" Sam said, bidding goodbyes to his son. Not a minute later, the car drove out of sight and onto the bridge. The german shepherd stood still for a minute, his thoughts still running at a thousand miles an hour. He had one last thing to do before he went off. The lookout and the yard was already set up for the reception that would take place in the evening. It was 11:30 AM, and Chase rushed to the elevator. He went to the top of the tower and walked over to the telescope. He laid his eyes on it and looked towards the park across the bridge. The roads were packed with cars, and everyone was already there. He even saw Skye's copter at Katie's Pet Parlor.
"Well…looks like I gotta head out now…the wedding can't wait for me." The german shepherd spoke to himself. He jumped on the slide, went down the slide, and got into his police cruiser. He revved the engines to life, and was off.
The wedding couldn't have been more perfect. The sun was shining, no clouds in the sky, and a perfect 70 degrees. There was no wind either. The wedding was in the park just past the bridge, and the rows were packed with the neighborhood children and the townspeople. Julia and Julius were the flower girl and the flower boy respectively, and the aisle was decorated with flower petals thanks to them. Chase was standing by himself near the entrance of the aisle when he caught the glimpse of someone familiar.
"Wait…you're doing the photography for the wedding?" The german shepherd asked the figure.
"Yeah, I am. I'm Marshall's mom, in case you forgot. He asked me to do the photography for your big day, and I couldn't say no!" She said. Marshall's mother, Martha, was a photographer in her spare time, and would never turn down the chance to do a photo shoot for any purpose.
"Oh, wait…I completely forgot about you. Thanks for coming, by the way." Chase smiled warmly.
"It's my pleasure. You're so tall. And I'm so proud of you. Go out there and show your stuff." Martha encouraged him. Chase and Marshall were close even before they were in the PAW Patrol, and the two would hang out almost daily in the city of Orchard Park, the city they grew up in. Marshall's mother and Chase's father knew each other well, and Martha thought of Chase as her second son, being that he and Marshall had so much playdates together. The bridesmaids and the groomsmen were already up on the small makeshift stage in front of the crowd. Not only were the groomsmen dressed in the finest tuxedos, but the bridesmaids themselves were flaunting the most dazzling white dresses.
"Liberty…thanks for cutting off your time to be here. I know Skye hasn't had the chance to say that to you, but she's very grateful." Everest spoke to the newly-elected mayor of Adventure City.
"I'm very happy to be here myself! Being a mayor is pretty hard work. And again, I'm sorry for not coming to the bachelorette party last night. Had a long press conference again. I can't wait to see Skye's wedding gown. I bet it looks great." Liberty answered.
"Hey, Tracker! Carlos! Thanks for coming out here! You guys are lit!" Rubble cried out to the two jungle explorers, who were sitting in one of the front rows. Tracker had retired from the PAW Patrol a few years back, but still kept in touch with his old teammates.
"I wouldn't miss it for the world!" Tracker responded with enthusiasm.
"Ladies and gentlemen…" Mayor Goodway spoke behind a podium facing the crowd. "It is my great honor to officiate the wedding of Chase and Skye today. Adventure Bay has known these two as key members of our very own PAW Patrol, led by Ryder. For years, they have served this great community time and time again, in the face of adversity and came out with blazing perseverance. It is now that we serve them in making their big day the greatest one that we can possibly give. Without further ado, here comes the groom!" Mayor Goodway announced. The german shepherd gulped as he began walking down the aisle, facing all the townspeople he knew and loved. All were flashing smiles for him. All of a sudden, as he reached the middle of the aisle, the reality of the moment set in.
I'm getting married to Skye. He realized. He looked up to the ten individuals in front of him, along with the mayor behind the podium.
Katie, Ace, Liberty, Hailey and Everest as the bridesmaids.
Jasen, Rocky, Rubble, Zuma and Marshall as the groomsmen.
This group of dogs and humans had seen him and Skye develop as friends, teammates, and as a couple before their very eyes for many years. They all were very pleased to see him walking down the aisle that would change his-and Skye's life-forever.
His eyes began fighting his emotions as he walked up the last part of the aisle, blinking extremely fast to avoid tears being shed. He finally made it to the makeshift stage, walking up the steps and taking his place.
The german shepherd, looking down at the people (and dogs) that showed up to the wedding, felt his heart tug at him. Finally, he let his true feelings free, a few tears cascading down his face. He made no attempt at hiding them, either. The groomsmen and the bridesmaids were in awe over the display they were seeing in front of them.
"Wait…Chase…are you…crying?" Everest asked in bewilderment. The german shepherd couldn't muscle any words out of his muzzle, so he simply nodded profusely.
"Awww…that's so sweet." smiled Hailey.
"Wh-wh-what can I say?" the police dog teared up. His father, who was sitting in the front row, almost laughed at the sight.
"Wait…you're crying, too?" Zuma asked his bulldog pal, who himself was also feeling a bit of water in his eyes.
"I'm sorry…I just love weddings…" Rubble admitted bluntly, the whole crowd laughing as a result.
Meanwhile, Skye herself was inside of Katie's Pet Parlor not even a quarter mile away. She heard Mayor Goodway on the mic and was making a few last minute adjustments on her appearance. She was straightening her fur coat when she felt a presence entering the building.
"Hey, Skye. You ready to go?" Ryder asked the bride.
"Yeah…I am. I'm…just very nervous, that's all." The cockapoo replied.
"I'll personally escort you to the aisle." The boy spoke up. The pilot nodded as she finally put on the veil over her face. The wedding dress she wore was unimaginably long for a canine, five feet behind her hind legs it extended.
Almost five minutes had passed since Chase had walked onto the makeshift stage. An eerie silence had come over the crowd as nervous anticipation for the bride overcame them. Finally, the bride was at the edge of the aisle, awaiting the words from Mayor Goodway to walk. It didn't take long.
"And now…here comes the bride!" Mayor Goodway proclaimed. With that announcement, Mrs. Marjorie, who also volunteered to play the pipe organ for the occasion, began playing a classical rendition of the Wedding March. Everyone turned to the aisle, and all eyes were on Skye as she began to walk on the aisle slowly. As the song was playing, all the attendees and even the bridesmaids and groomsmen were gasping at how beautiful she looked. The wedding dress, with the white color being the main one, had a small pink accent to it. Skye looked around her, seeing grins painted on everyone's faces. She finally looked at the bridesmaids and groomsmen themselves. They were incredibly astonished by her grace. Chase was beside himself. He felt a childish, large grin come onto him. Like his groom, she felt the emotional baggage finally get to her. Tears of joy streamed down her cheeks as she made it up the stage and stood in her place. Face to face with the one she loved dearest. Everest grabbed the end of the bride's dress and held it in front of her.
Skye and Chase sat directly in front of one another. The loving gaze they shared could only be described as heavenly. Their hearts were beating faster than ever, holding each other's paws.
"Friends…we are gathered here today to celebrate the union of Skye and Chase in marriage. These two have not only served our great community and beyond, but they are serving each other in this great commitment to a life of love, happiness and understanding as they begin a journey as one. We are coming together to bear witness these two hearts in the unrelenting bounds of love they share;" Mayor Goodway spoke up. Not a single dry face was seen on the bridesmaids and the groomsmen, and many in the crowd wiped away tears as well. Even Ryder felt water in his eyes, feeling tons of pride on his shoulders.
"Skye…Chase…you may recite your vows." The mayor concluded. About ten seconds elapsed in silence. The bride and the groom took this time to embrace the moment-the moment that they had unknowingly worked so hard for several years-had become a reality. The german shepherd, through his glassy eyes, lifted the cockapoo's veil to see her face clearly. She was shedding water from her face even harder than he.
"Hey…you can stop crying now." The german shepherd remarked calmly, wiping the tears off her face. Even though this generated laughs from the crowd and their own friends, the two remained calm.
"Skye…when we went on our first date, I remember saying this to you back then and I'll say it again: you're the most beautiful dog I've ever known. Not just outside, but your soul. You've made me a better man, and you've forever changed me because of who you are. I choose you to share the good times and bad, the laughs, the memories and the tomorrows that this commitment brings because I love you inside and out. Being a cop is a pretty good job, but being your husband and serving you to make you feel loved, consoled, protected and cherished through our commitment beginning today is the greatest honor I can ever imagine. Because with you, anything is possible. These next 60 years we have together are gonna be a blast...I love you, Skye. Thank you for everything you've done for me." Chase said, his genuine feelings of compassion overflowing. The crowd had a chorus of awww come out right on cue.
"Chase, you are my best friend, teammate, and confidant. But, most of all, you are the love of my life. You have made me happier than I could have ever imagined and more loved than I thought possible. You've always accepted me, even with the flaws I have. Seriously, I'm the world's ugliest crier. I cry four times a week. But you never let even that get in the way. These past 5 years we have spent together as a couple has changed my life for the best, and I love you so much for it. I'm so lucky that you chose me to be not just your girlfriend all those years ago, but being your wife. You could have chosen any female suitor on the planet, and you still chose me. I'm blessed that you asked me to take the next step in our relationship together. Chase…my heart flies and soars every time I'm with you. Wherever our journey takes us…I will love you now and for the rest of our days." Skye replied candidly. Once more, the crowd fawned with astonishment.
This is soooo adorable, I love it. Martha smiled to herself. She was operating two cameras at once: one for video footage and the other for photography purposes.
"Now, Marshall, as the best man of this wedding, you may give the groom his ring." Mayor Goodway spoke to the dally. He walked over to Chase and gave him the box containing his wedding ring. The two 'brothers' bro-hugged each other tighter than they ever had in their entire lives.
"Love you, man…" Marshall whispered in his ear, patting his best friend on the back.
"Love you too, buddy." The groom replied. As they separated, the dally went back to his place.
"Now, Skye, you may put the ring on his paw and repeat after me. 'I give you this ring as a token of my undying love, as I give myself to you now and always." Mayor Goodway told the bride. Skye did just that, putting the groom's ring on his right front paw. The ring he had was yellow in nature-very similar in color to her flower ring.
"I give you this ring as a token of my undying love, as I give myself to you now and always." The bride repeated, this time in the groom's direction. This next part was the one everyone and their mother had been waiting for: the grand finale.
"Chase…do you take Skye as your lawfully wedded wife… to love, honor, cherish, in sickness and in health, forever and always?" The mayor asked the german shepherd.
"I do." Chase answered, gazing to his beloved with undying fondness in his eyes.
"Skye…do you take Chase as your lawfully wedded husband…to love, honor, cherish, in sickness and in health, forever and always?" The mayor asked the cockapoo in turn.
"I do." Skye replied passionately. Mayor Goodway took a moment to breathe deeply.
"By the power invested in me as the officiant of this wedding, I now pronounce Chase and Skye…husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." She spoke up. The german shepherd lifted up Skye's wedding veil, and the two sealed their newfound commitment to one another by sharing their first kiss as a married couple.
The canines behind them howled triumphantly. The crowd stood, cheered and applauded vigorously. The whole scene was a sight to behold. The sun began shining just a bit brighter. The bells that hung on City Hall tolled, welcoming the occasion. After thirty seconds of pure bliss, the newlyweds finally looked back to the crowd. Ryder was choking up. Sam was consumed with joy, never howling more in his entire life. All the while, Martha was recording everything and taking pictures of the moment. A few minutes later, as the fervor settled down a bit, Martha took several more pictures of the groomsmen, bridesmaids and the newlyweds posing on the podium. Finally, it was time for the newlyweds to walk back down the aisle. Together. They had to stop several times to wave to their friends, and after what seemed like an eternity, the main wedding ceremony had come to an end.
The wedding reception itself went smoothly. Since the canines couldn't cut their own wedding cake, Katie did it for them. Skye and Chase shared the first piece together, and enjoyed every bite. Chase told Marshall to be the guy that held the toast to him and his new wife-and he didn't disappoint. The dalmatian told the audience several humorous stories about how their relationship began, how they had to hide the wedding ring from Skye, and other bits, much to their amusement. Mr. Porter's food contributions also lived up to expectations, Rubble in particular enjoying them. Skye and Chase had no trouble finding a DJ for the live music for the wedding- Rubble himself. They offered to pay him $100 for the occasion, but Rubble kindly turned it down. He was more than honored to perform a set for them for free- and he did his set incredibly well. For almost three hours, the crowd and the canines danced to his fine beats. Finally, after 10:30 PM, after most of the guests had gone home, the music finally stopped.
"So, you're saying the wedding is over, huh?" Sam asked the groom.
"Yeah, pretty much." Chase answered. At this point, only the bridesmaids, groomsmen, Officer Josh, Sam, Martha and Ryder were the only ones left.
"It was a pleasure to be here today. You two are destined for great things together." The older german shepherd spoke to the newlyweds.
"Thanks…we're happy that you came." Skye answered kindly.
"You guys sure you got everything packed for your honeymoon?" Martha inquired the couple.
"Everything's in my truck. We packed everything up a few days ago in advance." Chase answered.
"You know, I was a bit surprised when Chase told me that you were the DJ. I didn't expect you to be this good, though! You had the place going crazy!" Sam told the bulldog.
"Thanks, man. I get it a lot. I do sets at nightclubs occasionally, so I'm used to the crowd noise. But doing a set for such a day like this…I'm very grateful for it. Can't wait to do it again someday." Rubble replied with a laugh.
"You guys remember the plan, right? The taxi's gonna get you guys at 2 AM at the hotel you're staying at so that you'll get to the airport. I'll come over to the hotel tomorrow morning to bring your cruiser back here, so you two don't have to worry about it." Ryder reminded the newlyweds. The boy had a reservation for a hotel they would be staying at for the night about thirty minutes from Adventure Bay. The couple had to go on a 6 AM flight to Paris.
"You guys better catch up on some sleep though. Chase…Skye…have a great honeymoon." Sam grinned, embracing the both of them.
"Thanks…we're gonna have the trip of a lifetime." Skye answered. The couple's friends bid them goodbye with hugs and the like. But two canines had to do one more thing before Chase and Skye left.
"Hey, look at what we put on your bumper, dude!" Jasen and Rocky called out. The cockapoo and shepherd turned around and started laughing. The border collie and mix hastily slapped a JUST MARRIED bumper sticker, and to top it all off, a bunch of cans attached to a string on the tow line.
"You guys are the best couple in existence." The German shepherd thanked them.
"It was his idea. He thought of it." Jasen spoke of Rocky.
"Seriously. You guys need to try out the baguettes and stuff. I've looked them up online and they look fantastic." Rocky told the newlyweds.
"We've already planned that one out." The pilot grinned. With that, it was finally time to go. The german shepherd hoisted the bride into his police cruiser (along with her ridiculously long wedding dress) and jumped into the car himself. He started up his car and the couple turned around to face Ryder, the groomsmen and the bridesmaids and their friends one last time.
"See you guys next week!" Skye and Chase called out in unison, waving their goodbyes. The two took off into the night to the sounds of the cans clanking on the driveway, but the howls and cheers of their friends from the lookout.
