Chapter 3 Memory Part 2
After Johto and Kanto are done, Ash and Alice head to Hoenn and they meet Professor Birch and a boy named Ruby, Ruby wants to become a Top Coordinator, and they learn he ran away from home. They also meet a girl named Sapphire, who turns out to be Professor Birch's daughter, and they are surprised to see how she wears nothing but clothes made from leaves. After learning that Sapphire is going to challenge the Gyms, they also watch how those two decide to challenge that the upcoming 80 days, who would get all 20 ribbons or 8 badges first. Ash is not going to challenge them, so they ask them to be the judge.
When arriving at Petalberg City, they meet the Gym Leader Norman, Ruby of course goes to hiding, while Ash wants to challenge Norman to a gym battle. Norman reluctantly agrees because he reveals that he's going to find his missing son. But Ash gets his first gym badge from Norman in the end. After that, they head to Rustboro City and meet up with Sapphire, and they were attacked by Team Aqua, who successfully stole the Devon Goods. After that, both Ash and Sapphire challenged Roxanne, after learning their names from the tests, and how Alice helped Sapphire read the words on the paper.
The three of them then head to Dewford Town and they meet up with Ruby, when they're separating, Alice goes with Ruby while Ash goes with Sapphire. Alice and Ruby met Steven Stone while Ash and Sapphire defeat Brawley and get their third and second badge respectively. While going to Slateport, they met Team Magma at the Abandoned Ship, and they battled and defeated them, but they get away with the detector.
After Ruby went missing, Ash, Alice, and Sapphire head to Mauville City and they get their next gym badge, and then they head to Lavaridge Town, they worked together to stop Team Aqua, and then Sapphire had her gym battle at the hot spring while Ash battled Flannery later on. After separating from Sapphire, Ash and Alice decide to go to Verdanturf Town to watch Ruby's Contest battle. And they were also ambushed by Team Magma in Rusturf Tunnel.
After they're done, Ash and Alice decide to head to Fortree City, and they are surprised to find almost all the Gym Leaders there. Ash challenges Winona for the sixth gym badge and wins, but then they also notice Ruby's actual Pokemon battling strength. They are angry that Ruby wasn't interested in saving Hoenn with the gym leaders and Sapphire, and thus they decided to separate.
Ash and Alice decide to leave for Mossdeep City by flying, but they find both Tate and Liza unconscious on top of Mt. Pyre and they quickly save them. They learned that both the Red Orb and the Blue Orb are stolen by Team Magma and Team Aqua, and they fear the worst, Ash suggests having a gym battle so that they can become stronger, and he gets the 7th badge. But just as they are going to Sootopolis City, they find that the Hoenn Region was flooded because of Kyogre and Groudon's awakening.
They meet up with Juan and learn the situation, then they have the gym battle despite the mess as training. And the five of them quickly head to Seafloor Cavern to assist, but just as they arrive at Mirage Island, they decide to take a rest, and it is then they find Ruby and Sapphire washed ashore. It turns out that the Red Orb and the Blue Orb are in their bodies, and it was the reason why Ash, Alice, Tate, and Lisa decide to help them with their new powers.
During training, Ash and Alice learn about Ruby and Sapphire's past, and Alice also suggests Sapphire confess her feelings to Ruby. However, Ruby wants Ash and Alice to protect Sapphire while he intends to stop Groudon and Kyogre with Courtney. But eventually, Courtney was killed, and Norman comes with Rayquaza, while the Elite Four of Hoenn and Steven manage to bring the Regis to stop the fight. However, even Norman and Steven died in the battle.
Ruby, Sapphire, Ash, and Alice work together to defeat Maxie and Archie, and with the power of Celebi, they manage to revive everyone who's killed in the end. After everything goes back to normal, Ruby and Sapphire realize that they only have one day left to complete the challenge. As for Ash, he challenges the Elite Four and then Wallace to become the new Hoenn Champion, but just like how Wallace was in the past, he refuses to take the title.
"Though I wonder if Ruby and Sapphire are a couple yet..." Ash says.
"Maybe they are." Alice shrugs. "I'm not sure how to answer that. And in your dream, I kinda enjoy the Contests, though it felt a lot different. Combining performances with battle... who would ever think about that?"
"Maybe we can ask Mother to have this kind of contest battle." Ash says. "It will be much more enjoyable."
After a few days of the Hoenn journey, Ash and Alice have a reunion with Red and Blue, as they are visiting Professor Oak's lab, only to find that the Professor wants them to send the Pokedex to him. Ash and Alice decide against it as their Pokedex is already updated thanks to Professor Birch, so only Red and Blue's Pokedex are changed.
They all go to the Sevii Islands and they meet up with Green, who was attacked by Deoxys, and it was also then met up with Ultima, a woman who teaches them how to use moves like Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn, and Hydro Cannon. On Four Island, they met Carr, Orm, and Sird of the Three Beasts and battle against them, former Elite Four member Lorelei also helps them since Four Island was actually her home. It turns out that Giovanni was also on Sevii Islands and they are the ones who kidnapped Professor Oak.
They also met up with Mewtwo again, who wants to help them stop Team Rocket, and they go to Trainer Tower and fight against the computer named R. After saving Professor Oak and Green's parents, they meet up with Giovanni again, while Giovanni manages to create the armor to stop Mewtwo, Ash and Alice leave it to the three Pokedex holders and chase after Giovanni.
The two of them manage to sneak into the airship, and they confront Giovanni and learn that Giovanni was trying to find his son. It is then Ash realizes that he has a cousin. Red also arrives with Mewtwo as they decide to have a battle with Giovanni and Deoxys. In the end, Ash and Alice meet up with Yellow, and Yellow reveals that Silver is actually the son of Giovanni, meaning that he's their cousin. And after trying to help Red escape the airship, Ash and Alice are going to meet up with Aurora, who was with Professor Oak, Lorelei, and Ultima. However, just as they go back to the Pokedex Holders, they find that they are all turned into stone.
"Still, now that I think about it, it was actually surprising to hear that Silver is actually my cousin back then. If only he wasn't kidnapped by Pryce..."
"Yeah..." Alice says.
And after a month of trying to figure out how to cure them, Ash and Alice decide to change their mood by going to the Battle Frontier in the Hoenn Region. Aurora introduces Scott and the other Frontier Brains and they are also given the invitation to battle all the facilities. During the opening ceremony, they notice a boy named Emerald crashes the site and because of the press, they permit Emerald to do the Frontier challenge.
Ash and Alice decide to get close to Emerald, only to find that he doesn't want any help, so Ash and Alice decide to do the whole Battle Frontier on their own after watching Emerald defeat Noland. Because of Ash's skills, he doesn't need to take many days to finish all 7 of them. However, after the last Battle Frontier, they find that Emerald is just doing his third one, and after watching him defeat Brandon, Emerald reveals that his job is to capture Jirachi.
Ash and Alice realize that he is going to use Jirachi's powers to save those who are turned into stone, and Emerald confirms it without the Frontier brain's knowledge, they head to Artisan Cave and find a man named Guile who is also after Jirachi. Ash and Alice feel the man is familiar, but they don't know who, the two of them also contact Ruby and Sapphire to help, as they head to the Battle Frontier.
After finding Emerald, he still refuses to ask for help from Ruby and Sapphire as he did to Ash and Alice. After learning Guile using the rental Pokemon to attack, they team up again and head to the Battle Tower, where Emerald fights against the controlled Annabel. Guile reveals to be Archie, the Team Aqua Leader, and he wants to create Kyogre on his own. After that, Crystal and Gold also arrive to help out, and it is then that they reveal the other Pokedex holders turning into stones.
Crystal asks Ash and Alice to give the Hoenn Pokedex holders the things from Ultima to do the Special Moves, and it is also when they learn about Emerald's past. After freeing the other Pokedex Holders, they all fight together to stop Archie, who eventually disappears after a light surrounded him. Ash and Alice manage to hear Galactic before he disappears.
After that, they also watch how the other Pokedex holders have the competition in the Battle Dome. They ask if Ash and Alice want to join in, but they refuse, saying that they have a lot more things to do.
"And we take a rest at our island for 3 months until we are going back to Johto again after three months." Alice says.
"Yeah, because Arceus was very angry and he wanted to destroy humans." Ash says. "He is going to start with Johto, so we also ask Lance to contact Gold to help us out."
"More like Silver and Crystal are unavailable." Alice sighs.
They remember that they are going to meet up with the Johto Elite Four at the Pokeathlon, and they also meet up with Gold as they talk about Team Rocket and Lance's request. After learning that Morty can help, they all head to Ecruteak City. Just as they are asking Morty for Lance's whereabouts, they also meet up with Silver.
It turns out that Arceus has come and it's wreaking havoc, and Gold decides to chase after him. While Silver manages to gain all 17 plates and also comes with Crystal. All of them are then taken to Sinjoh Ruins, and the new Team Rocket executives are using their power to attack them and create Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. After giving back all of the 17 plates of Arceus, he still wants to judge if Gold, Silver, and Crystal are also good humans besides Alice and Ash.
Lance also gathers Giovanni and Pyrce to help stop Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina, while Arceus approves Silver and Crystal, seeing how Gold doesn't bond well enough with Togepi, he was not pleased and continued his attack. It is then Gold and Togepi bonded and become Togekiss that Arceus manages to stop the attack and leaves.
"I'm still glad that all three of them manage to finish the test...despite the fact we can't interfere..." Alice says.
"Yeah. And we're finally getting to the memory of Sinnoh..." Ash nods.
