Chapter 4:

Nate holding a bouquet of white daffodils. Blair couldn't help but roll her eyes at them. The flowers, though lovey and harmless, were still a reminder of the shameful incident.

Nate Archibald made sure to mention that the sender was Chuck. He graciously handed the flowers to Blair.

"The lengths you will go to lie for your friend are truly unfathomable." Blair took the flowers, admiring them for a bit. She knew they were supposed to act as a peace offering. The biggest issue was Chuck was not the one who sent them. She felt that man was incapable of feeling any sense of remorse.

For the past two weeks, Serena and Nate had both been dropping off gifts or letters that were supposed to be sent from Chuck. One day, it was a box of rose-petaled macarons. Another was a heartfelt letter that had Dan's writing style seeping all over the page. One could not forget to mention the pair of Chanel Slingback heels. They were nice heels, so nice she made sure to regift them to a random lady on the street. Showing that these gifts were futile.

"Thanks, Nate for the flowers." Before Nate even had a chance to deny Blair continued. "I know they are from you. These flowers have your written all over them."

"You both are going to have to find some way to make amends. Serena is your best friend and Chuck's step-sister. I am friends with you and Serena. Chuck is one of my closest friends. Though you enjoy forgetting; you were Chuck's friend at one point."

"Nothing to fix." Blair replied nonchalantly.

"Then would you consider attending my mother's charity ball?" Nate pulled out and white envelope with Blair's name written on it.

Blair just looked at the envelope in Nate's hands. "Send my deepest condolences, but It seems I am busy that day."

"I never said when it was." Seeing that Blair still refused to even take the envelope, he decided to place it on the table in the foyer.

Blair could see through Nate's plans like clear glass. This was just another ploy in hopes Charles and her would reconcile. She made sure to inform Nate that she was aware of his plans.

"Now if you'll excuse me, I should go find these flowers a new home. I think Ms. Reyes would appreciate your bargaining chip. She doesn't get many flowers."

XOXOXOXO

Nate phoned Serena giving her the details of what had gone on with Blair. He failed in making any headway. Blair was a stone refusing to move. Serena knew that they would need reinforcements before the problem became a bigger issue.

"Be happy it's just a cold war," Eric said. It was no surprise that Blair and Chuck were avoiding each other and refusing to see. Each believed that they were in the right and did not say or do anything wrong.

"For how long though?" Nate knew that this was just the silence that came before the storm.

"Nate is right. One wrong move and the war will turn deadly. Leaving destruction and the rest of us to pick up the pieces. That is why I called you all here today. It is time to commence operation male Blair and Chuck become friends again." Serena explained.

"I don't know about all of you, but I don't want to cross Blair or Chuck. Blair is a mastermind when it refers to scheming. Chuck is family and really good at revenge. Plus, won't they figure out our plan?" Eric tried reasoning with his sister. Blair could also smell schemes a mile away. Whereas when it came to Chuck, Eric would rather stay on his good side, not on the hit list.

Dan found this whole meeting ridiculous. "I mean this isn't their first fight? I say we just let the universe take its course and not meddle. They are both adults. I'm positive they will find a way to settle everything." Dan replied.

"If you don't see a point in helping our friends then you guys can just leave. I for one don't want this silent treatment to continue." Serena knew how long the two could stay mad at each other. Both were prone to holding grudges.

Dan could see the annoyance and hurt on Serena's face. He knew that if he still wanted to have a girlfriend he would have to help. "I'm sorry. This is obviously important to you so I'll help. Wait, I want to help."

"I still think it's a bad idea, but I guess they can't be mad at all of us." Eric agreed reluctantly.

"Well then let us start brainstorming, shall we?" Nate said while pulling out a pen and paper.

XOXOXOXOXO

Serena had promised Blair a night out. Time to get away and clear their heads. Spend some quality time together. A redo of girl's night since the last one went south. Serena had promised that she would not mention Chuck's name at all for 24 hours. This seemed to please Blair. She was feeling tense lately.

A relaxing evening, in a fancy hotel, free of any mention of Chuck seemed to be exactly what Blair needed. Some pep had finally returned. Well at least for a moment. When she stepped inside the suite and inspect it, she was astonished to find Chuck laying down on the bed of her hotel room.

"Bass? What are you doing here?" Blair asked alarm.

Chuck rolled his eyes at Blair's reaction. This had Serena and Nate written all over it. "It seems like our friends have decided to conciliate." He answered.

Blair wanted to scream in frustration. This was all a setup. "Well, I am not five. I certainly don't need anyone intervening in my personal matters. Especially, those whom I see no reason to reconcile with. Why am I even wasting any more words on you?" Blair stopped her designer heels back to the doors. To her surprise, the doors were locked. She rattled and shook the nobs to no eval. She even kicked the door, but still nothing. Blair started banging on the door. Hoping someone would open the door.

Chuck started looking around the suite maybe there was something that would help them get out. He noticed the note on the table. 'To our stubborn and juvenile friends. You have left us with no other option than this. We will unlock the door in the morning. You have enough food, drinks, and alcohol to last you till morning. Also, don't try getting help from the staff. We phoned in a favor. This room is soundproof and specially designed to only open from the outside. Scream, yell, have sex. No one is coming so find a way to kiss and make up.' Chuck wouldn't mind the kissing part, the making-up part seemed less appealing. He had to give them props. Though this plan seemed to elaborate for the two. This whole ploy had the touch of Eric or Dan.

If he was going to be stuck here till morning he might as well make the most of it. Chuck wasted no time in making himself a drink. "Want anything?" Chuck asked.

"What I want is to get out of here. Why aren't you freaking out? Call your dad or one of your employees to get it out of." She was going to murder Nate and Serena tomorrow. She was feeling like an idiot. Why did she leave her phone with Serena?

"Trust me I don't want to be here anymore than you want to be here." Chuck was content in not seeing Blair these past few days. He had no plans on changing that, but he also wasn't going to waste his energy on something he viewed as a wasted of time. "It's pointless. Clearly, the two made sure to tie any loose ends." Chuck handed Blair the note that he found.

Blair hated being a pawn in anyone's plan. "Well, then I'll just wait for the morning, I'm going to bed."

Chuck tried turning on the T.V. and Radio. None of which seemed to be functioning. Clever. It seems like any form of electronic entertainment was out of the question. Those two were militantly pushing this whole forgive-and-forget narrative. Well, if Chuck was going to be here till morning, he refused to be bored.

He grabbed a bottle of vodka and took a seat on the bed Blair was supposedly sleeping in. "Ever play 20 questions?" No response. "How mature Blair? The silent treatment? Are you seriously just going to sleep?" He knew though what would get a response out of her. "You know your nickname is Cinderella, not Sleeping Beauty, right?"

"Seriously everyone has to drop the nickname?" Blair responded like her mouth was on autopilot. Needless to say, she instantly regretted it. Her jib was up.

Chuck couldn't help but laugh. Something about Blair being angry brought him amusement. Maybe it was because he knew which buttons to push. Though that might just be attributed to the fact they had known each other since they were five. Regardless Chuck couldn't help but think that maybe this would turn into an amusing night. "So how about the game?"
