Getting herself out of the country was a feat on its own, but taking Jasper and Felix with her as well proved to be even harder since three people had to hide. Jasper was supposed to travel in order to meet with a few of Talia's ex acquaintances, fact that did not sit well with him since a brother of said acquaintance was rotting away in prison, but as Talia explained it, he was far more afraid of her and her name than of what Jasper and his brother did to land him in that situation.
On the other hand Felix and Talia were supposed to go to Romania in order to ensure Charlie had done his end of the deal and everything was in order. Last part of the plan, Talia to summon old and new connections in order to bring people to fight for England.
"Some days I swear I wish I was at least a bit more diplomatic in the past." She rubbed her forehead as Felix placed before her a map of the Ministry of Magic. The place was crawling with vermin and someone was bound to recognize either one of them in a blink of an eye if they did not play their cards correctly. Infiltrating was not going to be easy.
"Let me go in, at least if something happens you will have no regrets." Jasper uttered without lifting his eyes from the map.
A second later Talia hit him upside the head "Focus dimwit, losing you now won't benefit me or anyone else for that matter."
Covering his mouth with his hand, Felix still let out a small snort, Jasper lifting his eyes to look at them "Seriously? Can you two focus?"
"Move then." Talia shoved him "Your big nose is casting a shadow on my bright future plan."
"You have no plan." He said exasperated before looking over at Felix who was trying his hardest not to crack up "How are we able, no let me rephrase this glorious question, how are you able to get inside the Ministry and steal two port keys for us?"
"Maybe we're looking at this the wrong way. We can't clearly enter during the day, but there are also illegal portkeys out there. We just need some help."
Felix scrunched his nose, clearing his throat "The only ones who might actually have something like that might be lurking in Knockturn alley and surely they are on the other side of the fence."
"I don't care. I don't need a return portal, I just need a way to get there. I can handle the rest from Romania." Lifting her eyes, she smirked "Plus, anyone will say yes to me."
"You might be dangerous Talia, but not even you can bat your lashes and spark a flame in everyone." Jasper snorted as he straightened and lit up a cigarette.
Taking the cigarette from his hand, she winked, Jasper groaning softly "Fine. We try Knockturn alley but I don't think we will get too much out of the shop owners there. Plus it might be riddled with Death Eaters."
Smiling, Talia exclaimed "Perfect. Then I will be the distraction, you two the means to at least one portkey."
It was foolish really, but they all knew they were running out of time and whether they liked to admit it or not, Talia had a point, they needed help and also needed to ensure the help that was promised would be granted as agreed upon.
As darkness dawned upon England, Talia waltzed through Diagon Alley as if she owned it, turning several heads towards her as she just straight up walked through the crowd, turning the corner to Knockturn Alley. Borgin and Burkes was the plan for Felix and Jasper, Talia knowing well enough that while in the middle of a commotion, the latter would have no problem resorting to other means in order to receive what he wanted.
Talia's eyes scanned the shop windows, carefully looking at her reflection instead of the objects displayed and surely enough, she saw several people gathering, one approaching with his wand out "State your name."
"You see, I don't really like playing this game." Turning around, she smiled "It's not nice to ask just like that, at least buy me a drink first." Looking at him unimpressed she added "Plus, you might be a bit too young to know me. A pity really." With a flick of her wrist, smoke started spreading, an attack already being lunched her way, windows smashing and covering the ground, Talia running out of sight, fire being launched a few seconds later, hitting one of the men from the sides.
She laughed, she taunted them, her voice bouncing off the old stone walls.
A warning was sent in the air, calling for backup, Talia launching her own fire up in the air, sparks forming a Phoenix on the night sky. Dodging a brick being hurled her way, the second hit her in the shoulder, fire springing from her fingers, screams reaching her ears.
Hearing the sound of several people Apparating, she ran further through the narrow streets, hoping she would buy enough time for Felix and Jasper. It felt familiar, the heartbeat in her chest, the run against time, however now she was running for her life instead of going to save someone. For the first time, she was on her own through the streets, instead of heading to find Talbott.
She almost lost her footing as a blast hit her, Talia launching several spells without as much as looking over her shoulder. But the adrenaline kept her alert, the blood pumping in her veins familiar with danger so close to her.
Summoning a wall of fire managed to slow them down a while, Talia meeting face to face with other Death Eaters, one of them speaking her name, loud and clear, everything echoing against her ears "Your father is looking for you." He muttered, her look savage at the mention of Constantine.
"Tell him I don't have time to be grounded."
As he raised his wand to attack, his partner fell on his knees before plunging face first on the concrete, a knife stuck in his back. Taking advantage of the distraction, Talia attacked, a kick sending the man off balance, her immediately lunging forward, grabbing his wand for good measure, snapping it in half. Seeing his only mean of magic being taken away, he charged at her, a smirk playing on Talia's face as she turned on one leg, kicking him, ducking to avoid a punch as she just took the feet from under him, grabbing the knife from the back of his partner, plunging it into the man's chest "Don't pull it out, you might actually live if you don't."
A hand came in view, Talia ready to attack again, fire diming when she saw who it was. Akira bent and yanked the knife lodged in the man's chest, eyes travelling to Talia as he wiped the blade on the sleeve of her jacket "You're slopy."
"What? I got them." Scoffing, he motioned with his head for her to follow him "No seriously, what didn't you like about that display?"
"Are you seriously doing this right now?"
"Yes." She added as she ran alongside him, Akira clearly regretting his intervention "Plus how are you alive, I was certain you died in the fire."
The look he gave her was dangerous, however he nor her had time for trivial matters. They needed to get out of there without being followed and fast before more and more arrived. Running inside a shop, Akira just pointed his blade at the shop owner, the man looking absolutely terrified.
"Can we Apparate from here?"
He snapped around, going in her face "Has anyone told you that you talk too much?"
"And you're an absolute delight in case no one told you." His brows furrowed slightly, Talia shooing him away from her "Priorities? Escape?"
Pulling her through a series of corridors, they reached a backdoor, Akira listening in. It was quiet, too quiet "Are you any good with knives?" he asked turning his head, only to yank back seeing her so close "What are you doing?"
"Listening in since you're clearly not good at listening. Heard you might be old too so who knows how that affected your hearing."
He blinked at her a couple of times, asking "How are you even alive with that mouth of yours?"
"Because I know how to use it." Cocking a brow, she checked the clock on her wrist "Well this has been fun but I have to bounce." Putting her hand on the handle, Akira stopped her, his grip tight and steady.
"Wait here." He enunciated slowly, Talia nodding as he let her go, going outside to assess the situation. A few seconds passed and then some more, her growing impatient especially since she knew she was going to be late reaching the meeting point with Felix and Jasper.
There were no sounds of fighting so Talia opened the door slightly only to have it yanked from her hand, her immediately reacting pulling on the shirt of the person behind it, eyes ablaze, lips drawing closer, heat emanating from her. Akira remained rooted on the spot, dagger lifted, watching her display as she pressed her lips against the Death Eater's, him falling to her feet a few seconds later.
"What was that?"
She spun around upon hearing his voice, her flipping her hair "One of the things I can do with my mouth." He sighed, Talia pressing her lips in a thin line as to not laugh out loud "By the way, you wouldn't happen to have an illegal portkey lying around would you?"
When Talia finally arrived at the meeting point she was already half an hour late, Felix and Jasper slowly loosing they cool, however everything toppled over when she arrived with Akira by her side. Jasper immediately took out his wand for good measure.
"No, no, we're not doing this tonight. We need him, he can get us where we want to go. We trusted him before."
Felix however was quick to mention "You did."
Crossing her arms over her chest she sighed "And look at us all happy and healthy. Fine, I trust Akira. Happy?" she heard him groaning behind her, Talia looking over her shoulder "Can you just delay the betrayal thing and get us out of here? We need reinforcements."
Shrugging his shoulders, everyone froze when Talia playfully slapped his chest with the back of her hand "Talia, move away from him." Felix encouraged her, but she just turned around to look at Akira.
"Well, are you with me or not?"
Taking out a cigarette, he watched her eyes, extending one out to her as well, Talia taking it. Lighting fire from her hand, he let her light up his cigarette after she lit up her own. Akira nodded once, Talia smiling, mouthing a thank you before she turned back to Felix and Jasper "See, we have a plan."
She honestly had her doubts, hell, maybe Akira had his too or just wanted to get rid of her and her crew entirely, but when she stepped outside of the portkey office in Romania with Felix by her side, she let out a sigh of relief. In the end, no matter what, no one wanted to be at war and that must have extended to Akira as well despite what people believed him to be.
To say Charlie was surprised to see the pair in front of him was an understatement. Talia ran over to him first, wrapping her arms around his neck, Charlie engulfing her in his embrace, strong arms keeping her close. Glancing over at Felix, he opened up one arm "Get in here." And Felix could cry from the sheer joy and relief to have everything back to a sense of normality, even if for a second.
This is how it should have been, how he knew things to be, how he wanted them, him, Charlie and Talia. Just the three of them.
They immediately went inside Charlie's tent, a bottle being produced from under his desk, Felix getting some glasses, grimacing "Have you washed these properly?"
Coming to inspect the glasses, Charlie shrugged his shoulders "Don't worry princess, you won't be catching anything." Coming close to the boys, Talia snatched the bottle, yanking the cap off and took a swing directly "See, she knows how it's properly done. Now, what's the plan? When should I return?"
"As soon as possible." Talia said, giving him the bottle "Felix told me you will gather in Hogsmeade with some families that said they would join in case of a fight?"
"That's right. What about you?" he asked, drinking before handing it to Felix.
Rubbing the bottle with his sleeve, he finally took a swing himself "I will be with you. I cannot trust anyone in France as much as I would like to. All my family is somehow connected to the Death Eaters and I do not wish to risk anyone's life. Sorry."
Placing a hand on his shoulder, Charlie smiled his way "Don't even say that, you have nothing to apologize for. Plus you need someone to protect you." He added winking.
Slapping his chest, Talia laughed "Let him be, he's fine, can hold his own." Both men looked at her, Felix passing her the drink, all waiting on her plan "I can't stay long here. I need to see what Jasper manages to convince from some old acquaintances from Drumstrang, they said yes, but I need to ensure they actually commit, if not I'm afraid we will be alone."
"And where will you be then?" Charlie asked the single question he was actually curious about.
"At first I wanted to hop on the dragon and go all age of fire on their asses, but then again a dragon is something I can't control. But I will be delivering my own version of purge by fire."
Felix brows knitted together "Talia, you barely controlled the fire in that building. What are you actually planning?"
"Destruction." Lifting her finger, she hushed him "I know what I must do, you make sure you stay safe. Now, enough of this, I want to get drunk out of my mind with you two. That's all I want for today."
