Short chapter sorry. Coming to an end. Just a few more chapters and I hope that I can clear up any loose ends. Read and Review.
–WFI–Chapter 31 Monday, September 6
Rory tells the kids, they better enjoy the pool. It will be winterized next weekend. They have been in the pool all morning. Rory heard them before she and Logan were out of bed. Rory goes to the kitchen to help Evelyn finish up the potato salad. They would be leaving in about an hour to go to her dad's house. She and Evelyn were taking her car. Logan is taking the kids on the Gator. This way they do not have to change clothes. They are just changing pools.
When they arrive at Christopher's, Gigi meets them at the car. "Where is Logan?" Gigi asked.
Evelyn and Rory are getting the food and pool stuff out of the car. "He and the kids are coming on the Gator." Rory told her.
"Damn," Gigi said and took off. Rory looked at Evelyn and shook her head.
Before they could get to the backyard, Logan came pulling up on the Gator. Gigi came flying around the house. "Logan, Logan," She yelled.
"What?" Logan asked. Rory stopped, She wanted to hear this.
"I brought someone to the party." She said out of breath.
"Good?" Logan asked. He was wondering where she was going with this. She had never asked for his approval of her friends.
"He knows you," Gigi said. Now Rory was very interested. "He said you and his momma used to date." Gigi told him.
Logan turned pale. "Gigi, I only dated your sister in college. I did not date before I met her. I just had fun," He paused."Who is his mother?" Logan asked, swallowing the lump in his throat.
"Her name is Pamela Newberry, her maiden name is Grimaldi," Gigi said and started laughing.
"I never dated or had fun with Pam," Logan said. He was smiling. Pam was Robert's younger sister.
"I know, she said to tell you 'gotta'." Gigi said, she was laughing.
"You tell Pam I owe her." Logan said.
Rory and Logan walked around the house together. "You thought you were going to be introduced to a wayward child. Didn't you?" Rory asked.
Logan just laughed. "I was scared." When they rounded the corner Pam and her husband Mike were both sitting on the edge of the pool. When she saw Logan she started laughing. Pam stood up and hugged him. Logan started to introduce Rory, but Rory and Pam already know each other. She and Mike have a son Chris and Will's age. They have served on the school committee in the past.
Mitchum and Cynthia were the next to show up. "Where's Jessi?" Logan asked when he saw them walk around the house.
"She has a new car. She is too good to ride with us." Mitchum said.
"Is she bringing her boyfriend too?" Rory asked.
"What boyfriend. She doesn't have a boyfriend." Mitchum said.
Logan just looked at him. "And Honor doesn't have a husband," Logan said.
"Yes, Logan, she has a husband. I know because I don't get her credit card bills anymore, but she and her husband had their two boys by immaculate conception." Mitchum said, laughing. "Christopher, isn't that right? I know that Rory had her three by immaculate conceptions. At least let us walk around in ignorance." Everyone laughed.
After everyone arrived, Rory and Lorelai were sitting on the lounge chairs around the pool. Behind them was a volleyball net. In the pool were basketball nets for water basketball. Over by the pool house was Corn Hole. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Karson came to sit beside Rory, but she was all wet and Rory wouldn't let her sit on her lounge chair.
"Get your own, You're all wet," she told Karson.
Karson pulled another chair up to Rory and Lorelai. "Can you set it up so that we can talk with Ms. Goodyear before next weekend?" Karson asked. "Ricky and I want to go play golf at the county club and I don't want to run into her without talking with her first. I want her to understand that she will not be able to just step into my life." Karson said.
"Okay, I will talk with Logan and get it set up," Rory said. Rory had hoped Karson would talk with Katie while they were in Manhattan, but she was not ready.
"Thanks." She reached over and grabbed Rory and kissed her on the cheek, getting her wet in the process. She ran off laughing and dove into the pool. Ricky, Gigi, and Michael were waiting on her so they could play chicken.
When the meal was ready, everyone fixed their plates and found somewhere to sit down. Christopher said the blessing. They ate and enjoyed being together as a family.
