Authors notes: I was replaying the Wind Waker for the millionth time, and my plot bunny Greg bit me and I wrote this. I just now decided to post it. This takes place when Link has drawn the Master Sword and is in the room with all the stain glass windows.
I'm sure that I spelled things wrong and made mistakes, so correct me if I'm wrong, but not too harshly, please. This isn't my first fanfic, but they all feel like a first to me.
Memories From the Past
The Master Sword felt comfortable and familiar in Links hands. He ran his hands over the hilt, and thought he wasn't a swordsmith, he could tell that this sword was extremely well made. Link looked around at the stain glass windows surrounding him. No harm in looking. After all, he was in no hurry to go to his doom.
First was that triangle shaped thingy that kept showing up everywhere. Annoyance at being kept in the dark was the only thing he felt when he looked at the window. Next!
This one was of a girl. It was all blue, excpet for the earings she wore. She didn't look human. Kind of like a mermaid, only not. Somehow he got a sense of fear while looking at this girl. Maybe the Hero was afraid of her? was his thought. For by now he had decided that the Hero was feeling these things, and he was just the recipient of them.
The there was an old man, who looked angry. This window was all gold and red. He couldn't tell why this man was angry, because he got feelings of warmth and comfort from him. The Hero obviously hadn't been afraid of him. There was also a feeling that he'd met him before. This man was slightly balding, and had the appearance of an old grandfather whom you knew you could trust.
Next was a picture of another girl, all dressed in green with leaves coming from behind her. Longing. Sadness. So many other feelings that he couldn't decifer. This window brought something new, visions. Link saw flashes of the Hero when he was young, probably the same age as Link himself was now, playing in a forest with this girl. The visions came at him so quickly he could hardly see what they were. Then as suddenly as they began, they stopped, and Link was left with one thought. I'll never be able to see her again. The Hero's thought. He shook himself, and moved on, the Master Sword, clutched firmly in his hand.
The next one was confusing. He saw the triangle thingy, along with a monster, mountains, ocean, and sky. The monster had two swords in it's hands, and Lonk felt cast hatred for this being. He had no idea where this hatred was coming from—until he recognized the monster from Outset Islands legend about the Hero. So this was Ganon, the evil being he had to fight. He certainly looked like the type who wanted to take over the world.
Next was another non-human one. He had another vision, this one of the thing in the window dancing to some forest tune, then later chasing him, wanting to…give him a hug? He shuddered and moved on.
Muscle woman! was his first thought upon looking at the human in the window. His next thought was a little fear, followed by helpfulness. Too many feelings came with her.
She was a little hard to describe. He saw, more than felt her. A vision of a caslte in a sandstorm was all that he got, the rest was blank.
Link's last thought before exiting the room, was that the Hero had known many strange people in his adventures.
The End
A/N: It get's crappier towards the end. I think I was in a hurry to get back to playing the game. R&R please!
