–WFI–Chapter 33 Monday, September 13
Logan, Rory, Ricky, Karson, Chris, Will, and Em enter the penthouse apartment in New York. Logan went straight to the drink cart. Chris and Will started down the hall to their rooms. "Take off your suit, tie, shirt, and shoes. Hang up the suit jacket, put the pants and shirt in the dry cleaner's bag." Rory said.
"You have to tell them, exactly what to do. Leave one thing out and you will find clothes all over the place. I'm not sure I will make it to the teenage years." Rory said to no one in particular.
Honor, Josh, Sam, and Joshua came walking in the door. Sam and Joshua started toward their room. "Hang up the suit jacket, put the pants and shirt in the dry cleaner's bag." Honor said.
Ricky and Karson looked at each other and laughed. "What is so funny?" Honor asked.
"I just told the boys the same thing, word for word," Rory said.
You could hear Mitchum and Cynthia in the hall. When they got into the apartment, Mitchum went straight to the drink cart. "Mitch?" Cynthia said. He turned around and grabbed a bottle of water off the bottom of the cart. Logan and Honor looked at Mitchum, then Cynthia for an explanation. "He had a check-up last week. We got the results Friday. The doctor wants him to cut back on his alcohol and red meat." Cynthia said.
"He is okay, right? They just want him to slow down and take it easy right?" Honor asked.
Cynthia put her arm around Honor, "Yes, it is just a precautionary measure due to his age. You have nothing to worry about." Cynthia said.
"Dad," Logan said, shaking his head. "You had better listen. I buried one parent today. I don't plan on doing that again for a long time." Logan said.
"I agree daddy. Please take care of yourself." Honor said.
All the adults were sitting around the dining room table. "Logan, did you speak to her husband?" Honor asked.
"Yeah, we talked after the funeral. Her lawyer was with him. He told me that the reading of the Will is scheduled for next week, but that there is no reason for me to be there."
They sat there for another hour or so just talking. They were remembering some of the good times they had with Shira. There were so many bad times that it overshadowed the good.
Mitchum stood up. "Logan, Honor, Your mother did the best she knew how. I am sorry to say that I chose to bury myself in work so that I didn't have to deal with her, therefore I cut myself off for the two of you. I am glad things turned out as they did. Not Shira dies, but us divorcing. I do not regret marrying her, If I had not married her, I would not have Logan. I would not have been a part of Honor's life. Your mother gave me you two. For that, I am thankful.
The group split up. Each taking their families with them. It was time to go home.
