What is the best day of the week?

Friday, and there are a lot of reasons for it. It includes being in a good mood, having time for yourself, an afternoon wind-down, and hanging out with friends.

For Wendy, she'll do the first two things in the morning especially with the fact that Dipper and Mabel had already left the house for school, and their father left for work, leaving their mother as company for her. Despite her negative opinion on high school being like a horror movie, she's lucky that her break is up to November 1, so that means she has plenty of time to solve the mystery and find the culprit for her to beat as payback for turning her into an invisible freak.

After taking a cool shower, she began dressing up while making a mental checklist of her usual outfit as she stared into a full body mirror where her unseen reflection is standing.

Pine Tree hat? Check.

Green plaid shirt with a white tank top underneath? Check.

Dark blue jeans? Check.

Muddy rain boots... I mean, yellow and orange socks? Check.

It's a good thing she remembered seeing the socked feet of the Pines family members when she entered their house yesterday, and she knows what that means. She took a brief look at her boots that were near her desk which was where she placed her ax before looking at her reflection again. At least it has clothes now, making her visible in spite of her body being in its opposite state.

Going down to the kitchen, she ate the breakfast that was left for her on the table, and it's bacon and eggs. Next, she went to the living room to read magazines while listening to calming music. Just then, she heard a loud noise coming from the vacuum cleaner, and Mrs. Pines entered to notice her posture, so she turned off the device.

"Wendy, you're a great house guest and all, but can you please get your feet off the coffee table?" Mrs. Pines said.

"I'm... uh... trying to, Mrs. Pines, but... uh... my legs... are tired from the walking I did to get here," Wendy feigned a struggle with her legs.

"Wow, Dipper and Mabel weren't kidding when they said that you were known to shirk your responsibilities in the Mystery Shack," Mrs. Pines commented in astonishment as she took a seat next to her.

"Heh, I wonder what else did they told you about me," Wendy chuckled.

"They told me that you were a cool person. You were like a big sister figure to them, always looking out for them when they got involved in adventures that were beyond normal at Gravity Falls. My husband and I can't thank you enough, Wendy."

"Thanks, Mrs. Pines. Though to be honest, I only got involved with them in a few adventures, if not all of it."

"Such as...?"

"The time we went into a haunted convenience store, got into a bunker, encountered an Illuminati-like organization, and of course fought a unicorn who was a total jerk."

"That last thing you mentioned, it hurt her."

"Yeah, it did, but we got some payback."

"I assumed Dipper was not involved in this?"

"No, he wasn't. It's girls' night."

The two paused for a second before continuing their conversation.

"You know, I may be a slacker but don't underestimate me," Wendy continued as she stands up from the couch.

"Ah, you're a brilliant, but lazy type of person, huh?" Mrs. Pines said, looking intrigued on that. Her guest started making a fighting stance, and her right sleeve moved into a gesture that only she could guess. "Are you telling me to 'bring it'?"

"That's what my unseen hand is telling you right now," the invisible girl replied in a daring tone.

"Good thing I know a thing or two about self-defense."

Mrs. Pines stood up from the couch, and she attempted to land a punch at Wendy, who was able to stop it before attempting to do a flip kick on her. The matriarch is lucky to dodge that. Judging from her sleeve moving towards her direction, she jumped back to avoid a punch from her. For her next move, she attempted to grab her, but Wendy countered by grabbing her wrist and slamming her to the ground before pinning her to the floor, so she couldn't get up.

"Do you believe me now?" Wendy asked.

"Yes, I believe you," Mrs. Pines replied.

"Don't underestimate a Corduroy."

After that brief sparring match, Wendy and Mrs. Pines started hanging out together. An odd friendship between a laid-back teenager and a hardworking mother is interesting to see. One continued to read the magazines, while the other vacuumed the house clean. One scrolled through TV channels, while the other clean the kitchen. They watched a romantic comedy movie together called The Eighties. Judging from the title, the setting took place on the eighties, which was the best decade ever for some people to think. The ending looked happy with the friends becoming a couple, and that brought happy tears for Wendy and Mrs. Pines. The matriarch could see the tears coming out of the invisible girl's head. What a way to cry a river.

Next, they had lunch together, and Mrs. Pines gave Wendy the leftover cheese pizza and spaghetti for her to eat. Like last night, she'll have to endure seeing the visible food being chewed from her guest's unseen head before it went down to her unseen stomach as a sign of her swallowing it, as well as seeing that mini-waterfall again from drinking a glass of water. At least her shirt is keeping her stomach hidden as she would rather not see the contents inside. What an awkward way in having an invisible guest over.

Even so, the two women had the best Friday morning.
