Dear Desmond,
I'm always happy to receive a new letter from you. You don't have to take me to your parents if you don't want to, there will be plenty of time to meet them. That we can try ice skating is great, my father has a pair of skates he doesn't use any more, they might be your size. About naming a son, I think that naming him after your brother is quite sweet. I myself wouldn't know how to name a son any way, so if we ever have a son, I'd be happy for you to name him. I mean traditions are nice and good, but as you said, only if it's not interfering with my personal decisions. I like you, a lot. There is nothing that would keep me from you.
Well, about my family, of course I would tell you more about it, but I'd rather do it in person, maybe over dinner? I would like to have dinner with you again, maybe on my tap this time?
A Christmas present? Well, how about a book about Archaeology? You know, I have no real idea what you actually do, but I want to understand you and your work. Just gift me a book you see as necessary to understand your line of work. I will look for something for you too, maybe the pocket watch you want, maybe something else, we will see. I'll find something nice for you.
A thing I can never speak about without getting angry? Hmm. Now that I think about it, there isn't really anything that makes me angry. The only thing that makes me sad or upset, is when parents don't treat their kids right. I hope that we would be good parents, though I'm scared that I might be a horrible mother. Do you think I'd be a horrible mother?
It is really hard to find questions to ask you. I really, really want to know more about you, but most things are learned by observing the body language. Well I'll try anyway.
Can you show me your hobbies sometime? Like I know you can play piano and fence, but I would really like to see it. Maybe when we move in together, we can have a piano at home. You don't have to show me though.
Before we met, what was your life's purpose? You seem to have had a purpose before us dating, I'd like to know to better understand you and your actions. I would've just lived my life the way my parents wanted me to, before I met you. When I first saw you, you seemed so focused on something important, like it was everything that had meaning to you, and I constantly wonder what that was.
What is the craziest thing you would do for me? I would probably try and make us immortal to be together through all times, however, I know that's not possible. So I hope that we will find each other again and again, falling in love over and over again.
I'll put a picture of me on the envelope so you have something of me to keep you company while you are out and about exploring those ancient ruins and all that. I hope it makes the long nights that we are apart much more bearable for you.
With lots of love,
Scarlett
