Chapter 8: Rehearsals Part II

Danny and Star were still in the middle of rehearsals, going over their lines and learning the stage directions.

They were all practicing the first scene, that included Hermia and Lysander. This scene also included Kwan and Spike, playing their respective roles too, along with a senior named Rick, who got the role of Theseus.

"Relent, sweet Hermia; and Lysander, yield...Thy crazèd title to my certain right..."Kwan read from the script.

Danny checked his script and made sure it was his turn.

"You have her father's love, Demetrius, let me have Hermia's. Do you marry him..."The ghost boy read, trying to sound dramatic.

It was then Spike's turn and the theater-loving boy gave his performance.

"Scornful Lysander, true, he hath my love..."Spike said in a dramatic voice, using the right body language too and sounding pretty convincing.

"Wow, he really is the best actor we got..."Star thought, impressed as they continued to practice the scene.

After a while, Kwan and Spike's character soon exited the scene, as per their script and all but "Lysander" and "Hermia" were left on the stage, much to the enjoyment of the ghost boy and blonde cheerleader.

"Alright, Mr. Fenton. Miss Strong. This is act 1, scene 1 with both of your characters, so show us what you got..."Mr. Lancer called out from his spot.

Danny and Star grinned as they went over the scene together. They were also getting too in character and acting romantic, enjoying that they had the stage all to themselves.

"How now, my love? Why is your cheek so pale? How chance the roses there do fade so fast?..."Danny started, speaking in a gallant voice as he read from the script.

He was trying to give the best performance that he could, and his girlfriend did the same.

"Belike for want of rain, which I could well. Beteem them from the tempest of my eyes..."Star read, smiling at him and directing all her attention at him.

The couple continued their scene, both looking lovingly at each other and couldn't take their eyes off each other.

"Wow, I might not understand half of what she's saying...but her speaking Shakespeare is like hearing an angel reading poetry..."Danny thought, looking smitten as he listened to her speak.

"He's the cutest actor ever!..."Star thought, smiling as they continued.

As the couple continued their scene, while the teacher/director saw this and smiled.

"Wonderful, if they keep this up, then the show might make the papers..."Mr. Lancer thought, as he continued to watch the scene unfold.

"O cross! Too high to be enthralled to low..."Star recited, loving every moment of this.

"Or else misgrafted in respect of years..."Danny recited.

Meanwhile, backstage, Colette saw the entire thing and nearly crushed a prop sword that had been in her hand, squeezing it out in anger.

"I wish this blade were real!..."She muttered silently, as more ideas formed in her mind and none of them appropriate for other teenagers to see.

She was seething in rage and envy as she watched her hated step-sister get close to Danny as they recited their lines, looking as much in love as ever as their spoke Shakespeare's words and looking like they were having a lot of fun together.

It was sickening!

"Just you wait, Estelle. I will be Hermia and Danny shall be my Lysander. Count on it!..."She muttered under her breath as she then spotted a potential pawn nearby and smirked as she got more ideas.

10 minutes later

After practicing a few more scenes, the couple took a break as Michelle and Kwan began to practice their own scene as Demetrius and Helena. During this time, Danny and Star sat together at the rest area.

The couple both took some water bottles and apples to snack on.

"Never knew that acting works up an appetite..."Danny commented.

"Yeah, thankfully not as much as Mom's special diet for me..."Star said, taking a bite from her apple and happy that it was enough to replenish for now.

"So, after rehearsals, wanna go get some burgers?..."Danny offered.

"Sure, we can also get a milkshake together..."Star said, smiling.

"With TWO straws, right?..."Danny said in a hinting way.

"Totally..."Star said, giggling.

The two inches closer, arms around each other and nuzzling cheeks together as Lancer stood up and got their attention.

"Alright, you two lovebirds. Time to practice the scene where Lysander and Hermia to run away together through the woods so that Hermia doesn't have to marry Demetrius. Finish up and get to it...and just use your usual chemistry..."Mr. Lancer called out to them.

Danny and Star heard this and laughed.

"Looks like we're running away together now..."Danny said.

"How sudden, I'd thought we'd at least go to prom first before we'd elope together..."Star joked.

"Don't put the idea in my head, Starlight. Because if we one day decide that's our fate then I'd be glad to do so the right way. Preferably after I become an astronaut first though..."Danny said in a teasing way, wrapping his arm around her.

Star giggled, knowing that he was probably just half serious about that, though she didn't mind how it would go. The couple soon went on staged and went over their lines, figuring they could flirt on stage too.

Anything they do was worth flirting at the same time.

Anyway, they went over their lines and even the part of them fleeing into the woods together, all the while trying hard not to laugh. The two lovebirds were enjoying their time on stage a little more then even they thought they would, acting out another couple with each other.

It rocks!

Later

After rehearsals, the happy couple began to walk out together and locking hand with each other.

"That was a good first day of rehearsal..."Star said as she held his hand.

"Yeah, you were great, Starlight. Every time you spoke your lines, it was like hearing an angel..."Danny said, being sincere.

Star blushed.

"Aww, stop. You're just being a flatterer..."She teased.

"You love it, don't you?..."Danny quipped.

"Totally..."Star said with a giggle.

They kept walking and making plans.

"I hope there isn't a long line at Nasty Burger..."She said.

"You and me both, Starlight. But at least a certain pest is too stuck-up to ever go in there..."Danny said, making her laugh.

"Yeah..."She said, since that was another plus for their favorite hang-out.

RING! RING!

Star checked her phone and raised a brow.

"Unknown number..."She said as she decided to answer.

"Hello? Yes, this is Star..."The blonde girl said as she sounded unsure. "You... wait, how did you get my number?..."She asked, surprised

"Who is it?..."Danny asked as his girlfriend looked confused and even stunned.

"Some guy who works for the art museum. The big one in North Amity Park..."Star answered before going back to the phone call.

Star went back to the unexpected phone call and seemed surprised to what she must be hearing right now.

"Really?..."Star asked, looking stunned about something.

"What's he saying?..."Danny asked, curious as to what was happening.

"They're doing a big art show and their looking for some new aspiring young artists to show off their work..."Star said, looking excited.

"For real?..."Danny asked, surprised.

Star nodded and continued to listen.

"Wait? Really? You want me to show must stuff...but how did you know that I'm an artist and get my number?..."She asked.

"That's a valid question..." Danny said under his breath.

"You want me to present my original sketches too? But how did you even know about my sketch book?..."Star asked, finding this strange.

"Okay, this is getting weird..."Danny commented, while his girlfriend frowned as she heard something else.

"Wait...what?..."She asked, looking less enthusiastic right now.

"What's wrong?..."Danny asked.

Star frowned and turned to her boyfriend, with a less than happy look on her face.

"The art show happens to be on the same day...and same time as the play..."She said, not liking the sound of it.

"What?!..."Danny said, growing unsure and suspicious of that fact.

Star also had a suspicious look and scowled. This was too good to be true, and way to coincidental to be random. She knew something was up and suspect who the culprit was.

"I smell a rat... the French variety..." She said, looking around.

"Another scheme of hers?..." Danny asked, frowning.

"I wouldn't be too surprised..."The blonde girl said as she looked around, getting a gut feeling about this.

Star then noticed that Colette was nearby and she was looking at them, who was clearly looking in their direction and had an almost grinch-like smirk on her face, like she was expecting something to happen.

"Hold on a minute..."She said in a suspicious tone and started putting two and two together.

She realized Colette must be using another person for a scheme to get her hands on Danny. She wouldn't put it past her to do so.

With that, she decided she'll have to shoot the messenger, in a manner of speaking. Star then pulled something from her backpack. It was an air horn that looked to be brand new and unused.

"Where did you get that?..."Danny asked, curious.

"I got it from Old Shows Galore at the mall. I got it for the next game..."Star answered before she placed the horn up close to her cellphone. "Now cover your ears..."She ordered.

Despite not knowing what was happening, Danny obeyed and watched as his girlfriend continued with her little stunt.

"Now sir, could you repeat that last part for me again? I didn't quite caught it the first time..."Star said as she then pressed the air horn into her phone, emitting it's loud sound and right into the phone.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!..."A scream was suddenly heard nearby.

"I KNEW IT!..."Star yelled as she and Danny ran to catch the culprit.

They then saw that it was Joey, the buck-tooth kid from their homeroom who had a shrine of Paulina in his locker and who constantly has a lovesick stare whenever he sees her or any pretty girl who catches his eye.

"JOEY!..."Star yelled in anger.

"What's the story here?!..."Danny demanded, just as angry.

"Colette made me do it! She promised me $50 and she'd introduce me to some pretty girls at her country club!..."Joey confessed, singing louder than a canary.

Colette appeared and looking outraged that her latest minion failed his minion.

"And you failed, so our deal is, as you Americans say, off!..."The fake red-head said in anger, furious this plot failed.

"I don't know what's worse, that you bribed someone to try and have me go on a wild goose chase, or that you actually thought for ONE SECOND, that I would even consider risking you having a chance to be near Danny at all!..."Star said, angry.

"And it would've worked too, if this useless pawn had done his job right!..."Colette said, annoyed that she has to go back to the drawing broad.

"Don't be mean to me, I was just doing what you would pay me for!..."Joey said, but was ignored.

Star and Colette continued to glare daggers at each other, both hating the other even more now, if that was even possible.

"You are such a sore loser! Get this through your thick skull, Colette! I auditioned for the part, I got the part and I am doing this play!So back off and get lost, or else!..."Star said in anger as she was ready to punch her stepsister.

"Just you wait, Estelle..."Colette said, sticking her nose up in a haughty manner.

"Wait for what? You getting so desperate that you'd even dress like a monster to scare me away?..." Star questioned.

Colette did not answer, she simply turned her head and walked away, cursing in French as she got out of sight.

"What's she saying?..."Danny asked.

"You don't wanna know, but she, well, let's just say that there'd be bleep sound effects if this was a cartoon..."Star said, knowing that her so-called "classy" step-sister was being pretty vulgar right now in her language.

As Colette walked away, Danny then turned to Joey and sent him a glare for his part in this.

"Don't you have anything to say to us?..."He demanded, still mad for his role in this mess.

"Tell me how you got so many hot girls into you, while I can't even get Paulina to even look in my direction?!..."Joey suddenly blurted out, making it clear he was jealous of that.

Danny sent him an outraged look, while Star sent him a livid glare.

"Maybe, because my boo DOESN'T place girls on pedestals that are so high that he doesn't treat them like equals like some people here. Or some jerk who'd try to sell someone out! You're pathetic!..."Star yelled at him before dragging Danny away, leaving the boy behind.

Joey looked mortified and deeply chewed out as the couple left. He groaned and walked away in disappointment and shame...or at least, he did...until he saw Paulina walk by and he was so struck by her good looks, he basically forgot the last 10 minutes of his life.

With our favorite couple

"I can't believe he tried to sell us out like that..."Danny complained.

"I do. Joey has a shrine to Paulina and sometimes wait for outside of the girl's locker room to be the first guy to ask her out. He even once tried to bride all guys to say no in hopes of getting her to the fall dance with him...which failed spectacularly and he went with a cardboard cutout of her..."Star said.

"Okay, that's...borderline creepy..."Danny said, unnerved.

"Yeah, he's almost as bad as Nathan. Ugh! He and Colette REALLY ruined my good mood..."Star muttered, pouting hard.

She was mad that her stepsister was doing all of this to spite her and try to steal Danny again. Each time she got worse and worse, and even more obnoxious.

Danny sent her a smile and wrapped an arm around her, as he tried to lift her spirits.

"Cheer up, you're too smart to fall for Colette's silly tricks and I'm too UN-attracted to her for it to work anyway. Now come on, the Nasty Burger awaits and I know you're still hungry..."The ghost boy said, gesturing to her stomach.

"Plus, I got a NB coupon that I've been wanting to use, promising a free milkshake..."He said, presenting it to his girlfriend.

Star smiled, feeling a little better at that and playfully snatched the coupon from her boyfriend's hands.

"Alright, but fair warning. I usually need comfort food to cure my mood before I start hunting her down, so I'm gonna gt whatever the heck I want from the menu..."Star said, as she wrapped an arm around him.

"Go right ahead, Starlight. You've more than earned it. We'll put it on Tucker's tab, as payback for the time he paid on mine..."Danny said with a laugh, holding her hand in the process.

"Deal..."Star said, giggling.

As they left, someone watched from atop the school.

"Hmm... they look fun..."A voice said before giggling and vanishing.

Meanwhile

After school, most of the A-listers would be either at the mall shopping, goofing off at the nasty burger or harassing students that they could get away with without the teachers watching.

However, they can't do that today.

Today, they were practicing going over their lines for the school play. Most of them were here for the extra credit as they had no other choice to fix their grades and others had miscellaneous reasons to be here. However, everyone was in a bad mood for one reason or another.

It was Paulina, who was the most vocally upset. She even held up a picket sign that read "Shakespeare? No Thanks Here!" on it.

"I can't believe that you lamos are even bothering for this dorky play. This isn't worth the effort..."Paulina said, pretending not to care about this school play.

"You mean the same play that you weren't good enough to even get a part..."Colette quipped, angering her more.

"Shut up, understudy! As if I'd even want to be in some lame play with too many big words and with a director who thinks your traitorous step-sister is star material. Not to mention, he's too blind to see any REAL talent..."Paulina huffed, trying to act like she didn't care.

However, anyone can see that she was clearly jealous that she didn't get any part in the school play. Not even as stage crew, since despite claiming to be graceful, Paulina was something of a "butter fingers" due to being too over-cautious about her nails and worried that they'd break. The only job that Lancer offered her was opening and closing the curtains but she refused, and the teacher decided not to bother due to worrying she might not be able to do that.

That and Paulina would've whined the entire time. The whole struggle just seemed like a waste of time to solve and Mr. Lancer didn't really have any need for her in the play and just focused on what he thought was important.

Paulina was still insulted and voiced her complaints over and over to her friends.

"Don't even bothering wasting any more time on this dumb show. I say that we all quit and babe-cott this stupid play!..."She yelled.

"Babe-cott?..."Kwan asked, confused.

"Do you mean boycott?..."Colette asked, raising a brow.

Paulina blinked and huffed at having her smarts being insulted.

"I mean that we should just not go to school and just go out with total babes that day..."She said in a bratty way.

"That's not what "boy-cott" means you moron! It means to withdraw from commercial or social relations with a person or organization as a punishment or protest for whatever reason!..."Colette said in annoyance.

"Watch it, Colette! I'm still peeved at you for ruining my Halloween costume!..."Paulina yelled at her.

"Ha! It was already ruined the second you put it on!..."Colette scoffed at her.

Kwan saw this and cringed.

"Not again..."He muttered as the two girls began another one of their infamous arguments.

These two bratty girls have been at each other's throats for a long time, and it's been getting worse lately. If anything, even the guys who want them are tired of it and want it over. Not that anyone was going to get between them, since the two were more terrifying when this happens.

One guy, however, already lost his patience and didn't mind complaining about it.

"Will you all shut up?! I gotta learn all these lame lines or I'm off the team!..."Dash complained, before going back to his script.

He squinted his eyes a bit as he tried to read the text, but his tiny brain was having trouble processing and trying to understand half of what was written here.

Kwan noticed that his blonde teammate was struggling, but couldn't understand why since he could understand the Shakespearean script with ease, while his friend looked like he was reading another language and could barely make out a single sentence here.

"I will dis...CHAR-GEE...in it either your STRAW-col...col-OOUR...beard...your oRANGE...taw...taw...tawnEYE...TawnEE-..."Dash paused and grew frustrated.

"How the heck was this ever consider ENGLISH?! Who can understand this junk?!..."Dash yelled, as he was having trouble with just reading the script.

"Quit whining! Ya gotta stay in the play if you want any chance in playing in the big game, otherwise, we may as well forfeit already!..."Dale said, looking impatient.

"Don't shout at me! I already know that, so just get off my back already!..."Dash yelled, not liking others giving orders to him.

Everyone knew that he was on thin ice due to his poor grades and with Lancer no longer turning a blind eye to his faults, he had to actually put effort.

"Then actually bother to read that thing!..."Steven said, practicing his lines even if he was just gonna be in it for a small part.

"I'm just glad that I'm not in the same boat as you, even if I'm just gonna be an understudy..."One jock, the one with braces said, trying to stay awake while reading.

"Will you guys stop talking about that stupid play and help me figure out the best way to guy-cott the whole play?..."Paulina demanded.

"Boy-cott..."Kwan corrected her.

"Who cares?! Babe-cott, Guy-cott, boy-cott, whatever! You know what I mean! Just help me!..."Paulina said.

"No way, we need the extra credit and my grade's bad as is, and getting a passing grade is good enough for me! Just don't go to the play or something Paulina!..."Dale said, angering her.

"How dare you?! They insulted me and you guys are just gonna ignore the kind of disrespect that I was given just for some lousy extra credit?!..."Paulina asked in an appalled tone.

"YES!..."All of the jocks said flatly, too busy worrying about their own problems to even care about hers.

Paulina huffed upon hearing this and got enraged.

"You jerks! You can just forget about coming to my sweet sixteen at this rate or my wedding to the ghost boy once he finally wises up and ditches that horrid Starlight girl!..."She whined, talking out of anger of being ignored yet again.

"Oh, shut up! That Starlight girl is way hotter than you and she's a super hero too. Why would he give that up?..."Dash said, earning a slap in the back of the head from her.

"What did you just say?!..."Paulina snapped, nearly snarling at he dim-witted blonde jock's choice of words.

She then hoisted him up and despite her lack of muscles, and her smaller size, Dash was actually fearing for his life right now and tried to save himself.

"Uh... I said... she's not hot enough to keep that superhero... he'll have to give her up for you..." He lied to make her feel better.

"That's better!..."Paulina said, releasing him and still fuming with anger.

Her "BFF" on the other hand, looked ready to rip her hair out and throw her out the window.

"I cannot believe that I have been reduced to dealing with you imbeciles!..."Colette screamed and began another one of her infamous tantrums.

"I should be zee one playing Hermia, but Estelle robbed me of that role and none of you can even understand the depths of my misfortune! RIDICULOUS! I refuse to accept zhis insult and watch my step-sister share the role I was meant to have and be by Mon Amore's side on stage!..."The fake red head yelled, getting on everyone's nerves as they all went back to learning their lines.

Her "friend" however, wasn't sympathetic at all and just made things worse.

"Will you give up on your weird crush on Fenton already?! Seriously, your obsession with him is starting to both creep me out and get on my last nerves too, you fake haired reject!..."Paulina yelled, striking a nerve.

"WHAT DID YOU SAY OT ME?!..."Colette yelled.

"Here we go again..."Kwan sighed as the two girls began to argue again.

It wasn't an uncommon event. It actually happens practically every day since Colette joined. Paulina and Colette may act like friends at important parties and public events, but it was obvious that they hated each other's guts and didn't even bothered to pretend liking each other in front of them anymore.

"If only Star came back..."Kwan thought, thinking this would end it.

He really missed the days before Colette joined them, back when Star was still their friend and she was his girl. However, he knew that she was never coming back.

She made it explicitly clear when he tried to get her back on Valentine's day...and said quite a few things about himself that even he admitted that he didn't like about himself all that much. Since then, he hadn't been able to look her in the eye and didn't even have the courage to even speak to her directly, due to the heartache and confusion about his school life and social life.

After a while, Kwan left while both Paulina and Colette went back to arguing and even started pulling on each other's hair again as they yelled and belittled each other.

He sighed as the other jocks tried to pull them apart. He just left to go practice at home, since he knew that he wouldn't be able to concentrate here.

"I miss those days before Colette showed up...and when...she was still around..."He thought as he left.

As the dark haired jock kept walking, he thought back to his ex-girlfriend, Star.

He didn't lie.

He always did care about her and he thought that they had something special, despite their multiple breakups and disagreements, but Star made it clear that she didn't see things that way. It's been months since their last encounter and he didn't have the nerve to speak to her face to face.

He still felt conflicted with himself about his ex and this turmoil and mess that he has been trapped in for the last few months. He also felt anger towards the one whom he blamed for this whole thing.

"If only Fenton didn't put a spell or whatever he did to her, she wouldn't have left..."He thought, wanting Star back.

He changed Star and things haven't been the same since. He still resented him for that but Kwan didn't like confronting people unless it was to keep up appearance with his friends, and since Lancer pretty much forbade that, he couldn't even do that.

It was frustrating...but he felt more sad than anything every time he saw his ex with her new man...and smiling together so much. He wasn't so sure about why that fact bothered him so much...but it did.

He, himself, hasn't truly smiled for a long time...and he knew why, aside from missing his ex-girlfriend.

He hated to admit it, but it wasn't so fun being an A-lister these days. Sure, they were still richer and better looking than most students but that hardly meant anything anymore since his ex left and the teachers weren't giving them any leeway anymore.

It was so unfair!

"Why have things changed so much?..."Kwan thought, feeling lost and confused.

He's been in the A-listers since the start of middle-school, as Dash's best friend and team mate, since they both joined the football team at around the same time.

Football, popularity, and the A-listers...

That's all he had, it was all he knew and he genuinely believed that his life he had around them was who he really was and that everything would be alright.

However, Star didn't think so and left them...she left him and she hasn't once shown any regret in doing so. If anything, he noticed that she was smiling a lot more since she started dating Fenton.

Not to superficial "million dollar smiles" that she and Paulina gave at school, but a real smile...one that he can't remember ever seeing it being directed at him.

"She's so beautiful, why did she have to leave? Was I really a lousy boyfriend? Was it really that bad?..."He thought, feeling miserable.

He wished things would go back to normal. Especially about how their group of A-listers didn't seem to be all that impressive anymore. Ever since Lancer stopped giving them favoritism and Star left the group, they had been losing a lot of respect and credibility at school, and it was getting worse by the day.

The only real source of power they seem to have is that they all had some more money compared to the other kids, but that could only give them so much. The other kids don't even seem to care, while people like Michelle and her senior friends seem to be getting what was close to he kind of influence they used to have...and unlike them, Michelle and her friends were too "mature" to stuff kids in lockers and they weren't exclusive when they invited people to their parties.

It was really confusing and against a lot of the stuff he had learn since middle school. Like the world had a completely different writer behind the keyboard that was controlling the universe all of a sudden, changing the rules and stuff like that.

"The world's gone loopy. I can't even tell what's what anymore!..."Kwan thought, thinking of how things have changed.

All these thoughts running around his head had made him question about how the A-listers were becoming more and more obsolete as the days went on. It was literally scaring him.

He was even started to question his place in this School and where his life was heading. Star's words about him being a sheep and how toxic the A-listers had been on his mind for quite awhile, since their last encounter but he...he just didn't know what to do!

The A-listers is all he has, without them...he's nothing and he knew that.

The last time he kicked out, he hung out with Manson and Foley since he literally had no one else to hang out with and they only tolerated him out of pity or something, and he knew that. He doubted that they would want to hang out with him again if he got kicked out again. That's another reason why he's so scared of these changes.

He's scared since he didn't know what else to do.

"Is there really anything I can do or be outside of the A-lister's inner circle? I just don't know...I wish that Star still cared about me..."He thought, sad and frightened at these thoughts as he also longed to have his ex in his arms again.

However, fated had a funny way of messing with people, as he then heard a familiar giggle, one that made his heart and stomach twist a bit.

"Wait..."He thought as he looked ahead and saw that he was right.

It was Star and she was holding hands with Danny. He couldn't hear them but apparently, Fenton said something funny that her laugh.

She always had the prettiest laugh.

"Star..."He thought in longing and misery, but he didn't want to see this anymore.

He walked away in the opposite direction, not caring that it would take longer to get to his house that way. He just didn't want to see Fenton and the blonde girl who made him question his own standing in life...or see her so happy with someone else.

Someone that's not him.

As Kwan continued walking home by taking the long way there, he continued thinking about his ex and his lousy school life as his confusion and depression got worse and worse.

Later

At the Strong residence

Star was home and was still practicing her lines.

Her father had gotten home from work a little while ago and offered to help her practice.

"O cross! Too high to be enthralled to low..."Star read from her script, going over these lines again.

"Or else misgrafted in respect of years..."Johnathan said, feeling like he was back in his college days as he helped out his daughter with her lines.

They continued until the scene ended and both seemed satisfied.

Georgia heard this and clapped.

"Well done you two, you're getting better..."She said.

"Thanks Georgia, I just hope that the entire school thinks that on opening night..."Star said.

"No worries, Princess. You're a smart girl and MY daughter, so you will show everyone the kind of talent you got..."Johnathan said in an encouraging way.

"Aww, Thanks Dad. But talent or not, I gotta practice my lines until I've completely memorized them forward and back..."Star said as they continued to practice going over the lines again, making her father beam with pride in his daughter's hard work and determination.

Meanwhile

At Fenton Works

While Star was practicing her lines with her father, Danny was doing the same thing with his home. The ghost boy was reading and going over the script, trying to memorize the entire thing and correct any mistakes in the acting.

"How now, my love? Why is your cheek so pale? How chance the roses there do fade so fast?..."Danny read, sounding more and more like in Englishman in the 16th century, as he practiced these lines once more.

"Belike for want of rain, which I could well. Beteem them from the tempest of my eyes..."Maddie read.

The two continued practicing the scene, but the mother then made a face at what she just read.

"How is there an extra "E" in the in this play's script?..."She said, as she questioned the grammar of what's written on the scripts.

"Come on Mom, I gotta learn all these lines by opening night..."Danny said.

"Alright, alright. I'll stay in character..."Maddie said as she read the script again, but with a bit more professionalism this time around.

As the mother and son kept going over their lines, Jack was busy tinkering with his latest bazooka.

"I don't know son, I'm siding with your mother on this one. There should only be one "E" in the word "the", it just doesn't make sense for there to be two..."Jack said.

"I didn't write the play. Ask Shakespeare if you want..."Danny said, being sarcastic.

"I would if we ever come across his ghost...before blasting it to bits, that is..."Jack said as didn't pay attention to what he was doing...until some sparks started emitting.

"Uh oh...CODE RED!..."Jack yelled.

"Duck and cover!..."Maddie yelled as she, Jack and even Danny dived behind the couch as the bazooka exploded.

Thankfully, it wasn't a big explosion and the worst it did was leave some scorch marks and ectoplasm in the middle of the living room, as well as breaking a nearby lamp. There was also a small fire on some nearby curtains.

"Maddie, get the fire extinguisher!..."Jack yelled.

"On it!..."Maddie said as she grabbed it.

As his parents tried to put out the fire before the smoke alarm went off, the ghost boy sighed.

"So much for practicing at home..."Danny muttered as he took his script and went to his room.

His sister, who was "working" in the kitchen, saw this and sighed.

"This is all going in the memoir too..."She grumbled, before going to her own room to continue looking over her notes.

As that went on, someone watched the events from what looked like a mirror on the stage.

Someone giggling, who saw the commotion and got mischievous ideas.

"This might be more fun than I expected..."The voice said, before vanishing once more.

Danny didn't notice as he continued practicing his lines in the privacy of his room, only thing about his girlfriend and his chance of going to the space convention after all.
