Title: Yui Yuigahama – For Better Or Worse.

Summary: (AU) Yuigahama Yui knows he won't leave her. Hikki loves her too. But he is married. And Yukinon is pregnant. This might change things. Will he be there for her, will they still be together? Or will he choose his wife and new born child. Yui doesn't know. She can't possibly know. All she knows is just one damn thing – for better or worse, she will always love Hikigaya Hachiman.

Note: A splash of NTR

"I'm sorry. But I have to go." A beat. "I love you."

He hangs up and she is left holding her phone. This is not the first time this has happened. Yuigahama Yui is pretty sure it won't be the last time either. She should have gotten used to it by now. But it still hurt, each and every time he does it.

The part of her which feels guilty about the nature of their relationship tells her it's her own damn fault. What did she expect, falling in love with him. Again. Hachiman Hikigaya. Hikki. He is a married man. He is married to Yukinon, her best friend since high school.

This can't end well.

She knows this. Yet she lets it continue. She should have put an end to this after the first time they kissed. But she didn't. She should have told him to head back home to his pregnant wife and deal with her mood swings and weird urges like a proper husband. But whenever he dropped by her place, first, at respectable hours, then, not so respectable ones, she let him stay the night. She figured she was looking out for a friend who was going through a rough phase in his life. At least that's what she told herself multiple times.

He didn't want to have kids. He never had. He didn't want to bring children into this rotten world. She understood where he was coming from. Hikki had a miserable childhood. Even to this day, he didn't like to talk about it. He and Yukinon got into a fight. It was nothing out of the ordinary. She was pregnant. Her hormones were going haywire. She said some unforgiveable things. She told him she made a mistake marrying him. She threw a fucking vase at his head.

He almost dropped dead when he came by to her place that night. He was bleeding. He needed stitches. He also needed a stiff drink. It was a good thing she was a nurse with a steady pair of hands. It was a good thing she hadn't opened an old bottle of scotch, a gift from when she passed nursing school all those years back and surprised everyone.

Appreciating her handiwork and drinking her fair share of alcohol and letting her loveless heart swoon at his compliments was to be expected. They were both drunk. They were both saying things they didn't mean. She didn't mean to do it, but she told him a secret she promised never to tell another soul.

"Yukinon was not on birth control." She told him. "She wanted to get pregnant."

As soon as the words left her mouth, she gasped, though the gravity of the moment was ruined by a drunken hiccup. She wondered whether he would think of this as an act of betrayal. She wondered whether he would put the blame on his wife or her.

But he did none of those things. "I knew it."

Hikki is still one of the smartest man she knows. Of course he would know. But from the looks of it, he didn't want to believe it. Yukino Hikigaya nee Yukinoshita is the woman he loved. She is the woman he chose. He never thought she would betray him like this.

They were married for just a couple of years. They just bought a house. It was too early to think about kids. He didn't want kids in the first place. But maybe one day she could have changed his mind. But, she didn't wait.

She didn't wait.

Now he was made a part of its life and he didn't have a say in the matter. "I could leave her." He told her and to her ears it sounded like someone else was speaking. "Yeah. We could get divorced. I can -"

Whatever he was about to say, he wasn't allowed to say it because she chose that exact moment to covers his mouth with her lips. She always wondered what he would taste like. Sweet. Like Max Coffee, she had imagined. But no, he tasted like alcohol and betrayal and regret.

He kissed her back though and she let herself have this small, short-lived victory. When she pulled back, he let out a small groan of disapproval, but he didn't try to bring her close, he didn't try to lean into her touch. But they had definitely kissed. Finally after all these years Yuigahama Yui managed to kiss Hikigaya Hachiman, the man she had fallen in love with back in high school. The man she still loved.

She wasn't as smart as him, but she was a Soubu alumni and she went through nursing school. While she let herself feel the smooth touch of his thumb as they rubbed lazy circles over the skin of her upper arm, her mind came up with an arrangement which would prove to be beneficial for all parties involved. "Don't leave Yukinon." Yui said. But she knew, he wouldn't take her advice. They had just kissed and she knew he too had realized what they had been missing out on for all these years. But she couldn't betray her friend. So she came up with a stupid alternative. "When she gives you too much trouble, come see me." She traced the stitches on his forehead. "I will make you feel better."

And that's been the nature of their relationship since then. But now as the months have progressed and Yukino's stomach was swollen with his unborn child, Yuigahama Yui wondered whether he would stop showing up at her doorstep. She didn't know what to think. He had just called from the hospital right now. They were there for the ultrasound. They were going to figure out the gender of the baby.

Yukino and Hikki's baby.

Yuigahama Yui wondered whether the gender of Hikki's unborn child will affect the nature of their relationship. She wondered if he had a baby girl, whether he would imagine her getting cheated on by his future boyfriend or husband. What if it was a baby boy? Would he teach him not to cheat on his future girlfriend or wife?

As Yuigahama Yui stares at her phone, she wonders whether she will be able to hold his child when it's finally born without feeling guilty about the nature of her relationship with her father. More importantly she hopes that after looking at the baby's eyes, she doesn't wonder what it would have been like if she was the one having his child.

Her and Hikki's baby.

Now that's a dangerous thought.

A/N: First of all, I like to apologize. I haven't posted anything for a while and I'm truly sorry. But what can I say. Life happened. I don't want to talk about it. But let's just say "Guilty Pleasure" crossing the 800 review mark is the best thing that happened to me this week. Thank you everyone. You don't know how much this means to me, especially at this point of time, when I dealt with something really shitty in my life. I really needed something working for me right now.

But, yeah, enough of my sob story –

Let's talk about the Ikebukuro fic –

Now a story wouldn't be any good without an antagonist or villain. So please suggest some villains for the fic. Here's what I have in mind.

Poll#1: Who should be the antagonist of the Ikebukuro fic?

Option 1: V – V for Vendetta.

Option 2: 0 (Zero) – Code Geass.

Option 3: Nine and Twelve – Terror in Resonance.

Option 4: Shogo Makishima – Psycho Pass.

Option 5: Johan Liebert – Monster.

Option 6: A Villain From The Review.

Please pick accordingly.
