Surprise! Bet you weren't expecting to see me again! Again! With the news of the new total drama cast and the new series, I can't lie and pretend I wasn't inspired at the very least to try and finish this story, and who knows, it might inspire me to keep writing even more, that could be fun :) I hope you all enjoy this chapter! I enjoyed writing it.

We are starting our episode as we usually do today, at the top of the mountain where Marnie prepared to give her second introduction speech.

"Hello lovely viewers!" She started with a smile, "Unfortunately Chris and Don are still unavailable so you're stuck with me for one more episode! Last time our contestants merged! And they were tasked with traversing an ancient temple that may or not have actually been ancient in the hope of finding its hidden treasure, which granted them immunity from the first merge elimination. After a tight race, it was Alyssa who managed to pick up the first W and she was of course safe. But that was not the case for the eight other campers and they all started to fire off potential targets in the hope of keeping themselves safe. In the end it was Damien who took the fall after some strategic work put in by Amelia to keep her ally Aleena safe."

"We're down to eight now and the competition is starting to really heat up! Will Amelia be able to keep her allies safe?"

"Will Alyssa be able to continue her immunity streak?"

"And will Boris ever be able to be taken seriously? Find out all of this and more, right now! On Total Drama-!"

"Audacious-!"

"Alpines!"

(Theme Song)

Dear Mom and Dad I'm doing fine.

The title sequence begins with Nick looking at himself in the mirror in the confessional, he is fixing his hair before the door opens, scaring him and causing him to jump and fall onto the toilet. In walks Ashe who looks horrified and quickly runs out with his head in his hands.

You guys are on my mind.

Luciana is in the living room, enjoying a quiet read by the fire when Alyssa comes running down the stairs with two snowboards that she found. She throws one to Luciana who catches it with a grin as the two run out of the cabin.

You asked me what I wanted to be.

We now see the two girls skateboarding down the mountain, wearing the appropriate safety gear of course, they board past Boris who has somehow managed to get himself stuck in a tree, he calls for help as they ignore him.

And now I think the answer is plain to see.

Kahlin and Yvette are enjoying dinner together, they are both chatting incessantly but it appears that neither is actually listening to the other, they're both in their own worlds. The camera pans to show Amelia rolling her eyes and looking exasperated at the both of them.

I wanna be famous

Chef is in the kitchen cooking up dinner for the campmates, Yves is behind him, watching what he does carefully, Chef wipes some sweat off his brow and continues cooking as he does.

I want to live close to the sun

Damien is trying to have a nap in his bed when Adrian bursts in and starts singing to himself, Damien takes the pillow and places it over his head, trying to drown out Adrian's noise.

So pack your bags cause I've already won

Aleena is filming something in the distance, she is taking it very seriously, a furrow in her brow when Miles appears in front of her camera. This causes her to jump and throw her camera behind her, she growls at Miles and pounces on him, throwing them both down the mountain.

Everything to prove nothing in my way-

As the two of them fight and roll down to the bottom of the mountain, they land in a heap in the end and are soon joined by Alyssa and Luciana who cheer as they reach the bottom of the mountain.

I'll get there one day-

Iris is sitting by an open fire, rubbing her hands together and warming them slightly. She is soon joined by all the other members who gather around the fire to keep warm. They're all wearing their jackets and start whistling together, showing more camaraderie than before.

Nananana Nananana

Chris and Don arrive with a tray of cocoa, all in their own little takeaway cups. They begin handing them out to the contestants.

I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous

Marnie can be seen behind a camera glaring at Chris and Don, writing something down in her notebook.

I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous

All of the campers, plus Chris and Don smile happily as Marnie snaps her pencil in annoyance nearby, watching the scene with disgust.

(End Theme Song)

(Confessional)

KAHLIN: I haven't stopped thinking about last night's vote, Amelia came to me and explained to me that she realised the way Ashe and I felt about each other. I was confused at first but she was quick to remind me that Ashe and Damien are incredibly close, and that with him still in the game, Ashe would have a connection outside of myself that could potentially overpower my own. It's awful to think of it like that but this is a game, and I'm here primarily to win, even if a relationship is a nice touch. I spent a lot of time mulling it over and decided to follow Amelia's idea of voting him out… I just hope Ashe doesn't find out, or at least doesn't take it personally if he does.

(The Living Room)

Speaking of Ashe and Kahlin, the two of them were sat on the sofa together, the latter had his arm wrapped around the former. The two of them were engaged in what looked to be an emotional conversation if the frown on Ashe's face was anything to go by.

"I just don't know why anyone voted Damien out." Ashe lamented, trying his hardest to wrap his head around the situation. "I mean, he was just a good guy, he didn't do anything to warrant it, you know?"

"No, I get it." Kahlin agreed, rubbing Ashe's shoulder with his hand to comfort him.

Ashe mumbled a response, "We had the perfect chance to vote out Boris and people didn't take it… to vote out Damien instead."

"Maybe there was more behind the scenes at play that we don't know about." Kahlin shrugged, trying valiantly to move the conversation onto a different topic.

"Maybe…" Ashe almost conceded, the furrow in his brow relaxing slightly, "But I just don't see what Damien possibly could have been doing to make people angry at him."

"The game isn't always about being angry." Kahlin reminded Ashe, "Sometimes you vote people out because you're scared that they'll win instead of you."

"So you're saying that people thought Damien could have won?" The smaller boy took a second to put it all together as Kahlin nodded.

"Exactly. I know it's hard but there's no use getting too wound up in it, because then you're throwing away your chance at the game."

"No you're right." Ashe nodded, "I said the same thing to Alyssa just the other day." He shook his head, "Just got to keep moving forward."

"That's all we can do." Kahlin said softly, pulling Ashe closer to him in a hug.

(Confessional)

ASHE: I don't know what I would do without Kahlin right now, losing Damien really hurt but he's right, I can't let this game keep beating me down to the point where I just give up.

(The Girls' Bedroom)

Yves is sat alone in the girls' bedroom, she's on her bed scribbling down notes in a notepad. It was decorated with various musical notes and images of ballerinas in various poses. It looked like she's owned it for a very long time.

"So if we think about it, girls still outnumber the boys by a fair margin, now we have a margin of two people flipping if we stuck to those lines… But I don't think the girls are really all that interested in sticking together." She scribbles some things out on the notepad.

"Of course the alliance with Ashe and Kahlin is hopefully still going forward for me, so that's a strong three. And I would like to think that Iris and I are still close enough to be able to look after each other, theoretically then I would only need to get through one more elimination with all of those people together to be able to seize control of the merge…"

"Talking to yourself is the first sign of madness you know." Amelia smirked, appearing around the doorway, holding her hands on the frame above her. Yves quickly jumped, flipping her notepad closed and looking at the actress with a shocked stare.

"I… um… how long have you been listening?" Yves demanded quickly, trying to ascertain the damage that she had just caused.

"Not long enough to hear you talking about your deepest darkest secrets if that's what you're worried about." Amelia scoffed, "I didn't pick you for a diary girl but we all have our methods."

"Ah… well you know, it just helps sometimes to vent out your feelings onto paper." Yves quickly changed the subject, letting out an internal sigh of relief.

"Yeah I get you." Amelia nodded, "Never got into it myself but whatever floats your boat."

"Haha yeah…" Yves laughed before quickly throwing the notepad under her bed. The dancer quickly got to her feet and shuffled out of the room, quick to try and escape the awkward situation. Amelia simply let her pass by with a small smile.

(Confessional)

AMELIA: Of course I heard more than I'm letting her know, but it wouldn't be beneficial for me if I just let the girl openly bragging about her power in the game that I'm onto her. I'm not that stupid.

YVES: I don't for a second think that Amelia didn't hear more than she's letting on, I just have to hope that she didn't hear enough for it to be incriminating, or for her to be able to flip my allies against me. Otherwise, everything that I've been working on in this game will be for naught.

(The Cafeteria)

The other four contestants, that is to say Alyssa, Iris, Boris and Aleena, were all sat in the cafeteria together. Although I think it would be more accurate to say that the girls were sitting together while Boris had decided to sit near them, whether they liked it or not.

"And so that's how I managed to earn my father's respect at the age of twelve after successfully reinvigorating his entire company's marketing strategy, doubling our profit for that fiscal year. Impressive no?"

"If I knew anything about marketing and business, I'm sure that I could potentially be a small bit impressed." Aleena nodded, not doing much to hide her boredom at the boy's attempts at socialising. The other two girls could only nod their agreement, which to Boris, was nearly as good as showering him with praise, so he grinned widely.

"Of course, once I take over the company, I'm sure that my bright ideas will be able to elevate us to even higher echelons of success, but for now I have to take my victories where I can get them." He continued with a smug smirk on his face.

"Can I just ask why you're telling us this?" Alyssa brazenly inquired, her face struggling not to show the boredom that she was experiencing as Boris lectured them about himself.

"Well… isn't that the point of the game?" Boris responded with a look of confusion, "We're supposed to get to know each other, and I'm getting to know you guys." The sole man at the table rolled his eyes as if Alyssa had asked the stupidest question possible.

"Yes Boris… but a key part about getting to know people is to also ask questions about them, and get involved in their lives." Iris tried to explain, summoning all of her babysitting experience to try and explain to him.

"Well yeah I know that." Boris scoffed, rolling his eyes, "It's just that I'm not done talking about myself yet."

"Then you might as well talk to yourself." Aleena muttered, "Because we're gonna stop listening soon enough."

"So true." Alyssa agreed, "I'm already completely tuned out of the conversation if I'm honest."

"Right well…" Boris stumbled, not used to people so openly speaking against him. "Iris… what successes have you had in your life so far?" The words sound clunky in his mouth, like he's not used to forming the sounds.

"Well Boris," Iris smiled, happy for his participation. "I would say that my greatest success is helping to raise my siblings, I've managed to help give all of them a happy and fulfilled childhood and I hope that that means that they'll be able to move forward into the future easily and be able to do whatever it is that they want in life."

"Aww that's sweet." Alyssa smiled, "I'm sure all of your siblings are really proud of you too." The athletic girl perked up now that someone else was talking, happy to rejoin the conversation.

"Uh… yeah that's cool." Boris nodded, unsure of what else to say.

"Just keep doing it like that and maybe people will actually want to have a conversation with you Boris." Aleena noted, trying to keep her tone level so as not to offend Boris or belittle him.

"Practice makes perfect." Iris nodded as Boris stood up from the table.

"Yes, it's something to think about for sure." The rich boy agreed before leaving the three girls and the cafeteria as a whole. The three of them simply continued their conversations without him there, albeit much more animated and engaged than before.

(Confessional)

IRIS: I'm not saying that Boris is lacking social skills, but the boy is most definitely lacking social skills. You can tell that he has been given everything in his life and is so used to being respected and revered by those around him that he just doesn't know what to do when people aren't so enamoured… Hopefully he can work on that in the future.

BORIS: The audacity of those girls to think that I don't know how to hold a conversation. It's really not my fault that I simply don't want to listen to your less than interesting lives when I could be talking about my own, which is far more superior. But alas, for the sake of the game I suppose I should at least attempt to feign interest to propel myself further.

ALYSSA: Can't lie, I turned off the minute that he came and sat at our table. The dude just does not know when to shut up.

(Outside the Cabin)

Marnie had gathered the remaining eight players outside the cabin, the new host was smiling brightly as they all came and joined her in the snow. All of them seemed much more accustomed to the snow now, much less shivering and pained expressions whenever they stepped out of the warmth of the cabin. The trusty intern Kyle stood to the side of Marnie, ready to do as she required at the drop of a hat.

"Hey guys!" She greeted them all with a wave, "You guys must be proud! After today you'll officially be in the top half! How crazy is that!" The contestants nodded in agreement, having it register in their heads that it was indeed quickly approaching the top half of the competition.

"Of course, that doesn't mean you're going to catch a break though! In fact, I would actually say that from now on, things are only going to get tougher." She let out a small chuckle, maybe to put the cast at ease, or maybe just because she personally finds the idea enjoyable, it's not something that anyone other than Marnie herself is privy to. "So I'm sure you're all absolutely chomping at the bit to find out what our next challenge is, and I promise you that this is a fun one!"

"You guys ever remember those like treetop adventure parks that were around?" Marnie asked, the majority of the contestants nodded, at least being aware of the concept. "Well… we've made one here just for you! And by we, I do of course mean our lovely intern Kyle here who has painstakingly been working in this cold cold weather to put together a fun experience for you all."

Said intern Kyle gave the contestants a cheerful wave and a proud smile but otherwise didn't say a word.

"He gets a bit camera shy." Marnie giggled, "But he's assured me that the course is completely safe and that all of you will be securely harnessed and nothing bad could happen to you."

"But I'm sure you care more about how to win the immunity challenge! And the answer to that question is simple. Hidden within our treetop paradise are bags of puzzle pieces, five bags each to be exact, each a specific colour assigned to you all. Your job is to traverse the maze of rope and branches to collect your pieces. You will then race back to the starting point where you must complete the puzzle held within your bags. First person to finish will win immunity. All clear?"

"Crystal." Alyssa nodded, a look of determination on her face.

"Then let's get you all suited up and we'll get the challenge underway! Good luck guys." Marnie smiled again.

(Confessional)

ALEENA: Physical tree racing isn't my strong suit, but I sure do know how to put a puzzle together! So I'm hoping that I'll be able to not suck too much at finding the pieces and then speed my way to victory at the end with my brain.

ALYSSA: Ah… slight problem here… I was hoping to continue an immunity streak through the merge, but I can't lie, I am absolutely trash at puzzles. I mean why are we trying so hard to put things back together? Should have just kept it whole in the first place!

KAHLIN: I'm definitely not trying to win this challenge, the merge portion of the game is when people start being targeted for their physical capabilities, so I'm going to have to make sure that I keep my threat level down by doing pretty average in the challenges, including this one.

(The Treetops)

The eight remaining contestants all stood together on a platform in the treetops, it had thankfully been cleared of snow, and there was none falling so the platform was slip free. The same could not be said for some of the pathways that the contestants had to follow which were left covered. The platform branched off into five separate paths, one would assume that each one led to a set of puzzle pieces. Underneath the course was a large cargo net, set to catch the contestants should they fall off.

"Alright contestants." Marnie smiled, speaking into a megaphone from below them. "You can start… now!"

On her word the eight players began rushing across the pathways, they soon realised that the paths were only traversable single file, and that they wouldn't be able to go past someone on one of the paths and would instead be forced to follow behind them at whatever pace they chose to set. This was felt most immediately by Boris, who was now standing behind Ashe, who seemed the most nervous up in the trees.

"Hurry up you nervous wreck!" Boris cried as Ashe shakily made his way across a narrow rope bridge where one false move could send him plummeting a good few feet until the safety net caught him.

"I'm going as fast as I can." The boy replied, not turning to look at Boris and instead focusing solely on the path in front of him.

"Well go quicker!" The business heir demanded. Ashe picked his speed up slightly, not wanting to aggravate Boris further but only marginally, leaving the complainer to have to follow behind much to his chagrin.

On another path, Alyssa was working hard to overcome her self professed puzzle weakness by collecting all of the pieces first and giving herself a head start. She was storming ahead across a series of wooden platforms held up by rope. The usual difficulty of them would be their instability, heavy wobbling would cause people to fall off or at least spend more time to balance themselves but Alyssa didn't have time for that. She was jumping across the platforms with an undeniable grace, barely taking a step on each platform before throwing herself onto the next one.

"Let's go for two in a row!" She cheered as she leaped between the platforms, however, what she was not expecting was for some of them to have some water on them left over from melting snow, which had now turned to ice due to it being so cold. The athletic girl felt her foot move out from under her and she ended up flying head over heels, hitting her chin painfully on the platform before momentum carried her over the edge, landing her painfully in the safety net below.

"Goddammit!" She swore, hitting the net in frustration as she looked back to the starting platform, where the ladder to get back was. Begrudgingly she began her journey back, thinking only of how everyone else was getting ahead of her.

CONFESSIONAL:

ASHE: Honestly I wasn't all that scared of falling off, I could see that there was a net below me, but I just feel that if you don't fall off, you don't have to go back, which would take so much more time than just slowly moving across the course you know?

ALYSSA: (She is holding a bag of frozen peas to her chin) I've got to say that's probably one of my most embarrassing wipeouts. Do you reckon they'll let me have the footage so I can show all my friends?

(A Very Tall Tree)

Yves had found herself in front of a very large tree after traversing her own path, she could see the puzzle bags up high in the branches and would be required to climb up in order to receive it.

"Piece of cake." She smiled as she pulled herself up onto one of the lower branches, taking a second to decide on her best course of action before springing up the branches with almost feline agility.

"All those years of dancing are paying off." She giggled, not breaking a sweat as she leaped between the branches. It wasn't long before she reached the top and pulled off the maroon bag which had been assigned to her. She looked down at the tree and nodded. "Might as well do this the quick way." She shrugged before throwing herself off of the branch and down onto the safety net below her. She couldn't help but let out a laugh at the adrenaline before beginning her journey back to the start where she could drop her puzzle pieces.

As she jumped down, Aleena came up behind her, now arriving at the bottom of the tree. She had taken longer to get across the platforms and now it looked like she would take much longer here too.

"This is ridiculous." The girl grumbled as she lifted herself with much effort onto one of the lowest branches. She took a moment to catch her breath before looking up and seeing that there were many branches above her before being able to reach the bags. "This might take a while." She sighed, standing up and reaching up to the next branch and repeating the process.

CONFESSIONAL:

YVES: Yeah I saw Aleena struggling… I mean it's not my fault that she's physically kind of useless. She spends all her time with her camera so what did she expect? It just means that I've got a better chance at winning this challenge.

(Spinning Platforms)

One other obstacle on the course could only be described as large discs that were spinning both clockwise and anticlockwise and at varying speeds. It looked like you would have to time your jumps well in order to be able to make it across to the puzzle bags at a platform at the end that was thankfully not spinning.

This is what Kahlin soon discovered when he arrived at the end of the rope bridge.

"Oh this looks fun." He grinned, taking a moment to watch the spinning of the platforms, this is a task that would require great precision and focus. Kahlin nodded and took the first leap, and was promptly thrown off of the platform by the spinning, landing himself on the safety net. The man could only laugh as stood up and began his journey back to the start.

"That was way less fun than I thought it would." He joked as Iris turned up at the start of the obstacle. "Careful Iris!" He called out to her, "It's way faster than you think it is."

"Ah, thank you for the advice!" Iris called back to him, looking at the platforms with a sense of apprehension on her face. She took her time, making sure that she was prepared for the momentum that was going to take her once she landed on the platform.

"1… 2… 3!" She counted to herself before throwing herself towards the platform, she made the decision to land rather awkwardly on her stomach, which although looking ugly meant that she was able to absorb most of the shock of landing and not lose her balance by virtue of already being on the floor. She stood up and slowly made her way to the next platform which was spinning in the opposite direction at a similar speed however Iris repeated the same process which was now proving to be rather effective as she managed to once again land on the platform and stay there. This process continued for a bit longer, with her continuing to use her bellyflop method in order to stay grounded on the platform and not fall off and it was proving effective as the girl had not been thrown onto the safety net yet.

However, she was now at the final platform before the end, and it was spinning much faster than the others, proving to be a difficult final step. Iris steadied herself, trying to combat the growing dizziness she was feeling from being constantly turned around in circles as she planned her final leap. She counted once again to three before leaping, again opting to fall flat on her stomach, she wasn't expecting it to be as fast as it was though, and she soon found herself sliding towards the edge, the force of the spinning pushing her outwards. The girl gritted her teeth though and desperately clung onto the platform, digging her fingers into its surface and pulling herself to her feet.

"That's what I'm talking about!" She cheered as she made the final little step onto the final platform and picked up the yellow bags which she had been assigned. Opting not to have to go back through the spinning platforms, she took a dainty leap onto the safety net and began travelling back to the start like many others.

CONFESSIONAL:

IRIS: Honestly without Kahlin giving me that advice, I probably would have fallen straight into that net so thank you for helping me when you watch this back!

(The Starting Platform)

Yves had made it back to the start and was dropping off her fast bag onto her board, she took a quick glance around and noticed that she was the first one to finish. The girl smiled as she turned around to see Amelia pulling herself up onto the platform, a dark blue bag wedged between her teeth. The actress gave the dancer a wink as she dropped her own bag onto her puzzle board.

"Fancy seeing you here." She smiled, enjoying the annoyed look on Yves face and the tension forming in her jaw.

"You did that quickly." Yves acknowledged, surprised that anyone had been able to complete a section nearly as quick as her. Amelia shrugged in response.

"I'm full of surprises." Amelia nodded as she headed down a different path, not wanting to spend time talking when she could be doing the challenge. Yves followed her lead and took her own, different path to another challenge. A new flame of determination lit under her.

Just as the two of them left, Iris also arrived with her first bag which she placed on her own puzzle board, and set off down a path, accidentally choosing the same one as Amelia.

(A Tightrope)

Ashe and Boris had arrived at a tightrope at the same time, due to Boris being forced behind Ashe on the single file rope bridge to the obstacle, something that the heir was not happy about if the scowl on his face was any indication. His scowl only deepened once he realised that Ashe was now on the tightrope already and of course it was only one person wide.

"Is this a joke?!" Boris cried as Ashe looked back at him sheepishly.

"Sorry Boris, I didn't know." The boy winced as he saw the others face, resolving to move just slightly faster over the tightrope. "I just don't want to fall off is all…" The boy mumbled, taking his time to walk across the rope with decent balance, he only wobbled a few times and was able to recover it rather quickly. It was only a few minutes before he was able to pick up his pink bag, thankfully Boris had been considerate and was only now entering onto the tightrope, however he was taking it at a much quicker pace than the boy before him. This tactic proved riskier as the boy wobbled much more than his predecessor however he still managed to get to the end without falling off and claiming his own green bag.

Ashe however was already on the safety net and beginning his travel back, Boris followed suit but remained behind him like usual in this challenge.

CONFESSIONAL:

BORIS: I already know I'm right at the back of this challenge all thanks to Ashe! I mean come on you would think the guy was a snail the way he was crawling along that course. Now I've got so much ground that I'm going to have to make up.

(The Starting Platform)

Boris' fear was proven right once he and Ashe reached the starting platform, every other person had managed to get a bag on their platform, even Aleena had a purple bag on her table despite her earlier struggles with climbing the tree. The same was true for both Kahlin and Alyssa, whose light blue and black bags sat upon their tables, meaning that the two of them had managed to fall off obstacles, come back and even complete them before Boris and Ashe returned. The two boys deposited their bags on the table and soon split off into separate directions, Boris determined not to fall too far behind as he practically sprinted down a rope bridge. Ashe continued his calm and collected approach though, moving across the rope bridge to a different section with the same level of care.

He hadn't made it far when Yves climbed back onto the platform with her own second bag, returning from the same direction that Ashe was now heading. She noticed her alliance mate and gave him a call to catch his attention.

"Be careful on that one." She warned him, "You can get thrown off really easily, keep your centre of gravity low."

"Oh… thank you." Ashe nodded, smiling at Yves in appreciation as the dancer dropped her second bag off and continued down a different route, not taking too long with pleasantries. She soon passed him on a different rope bridge but he just carried on.

(Giant Rope Swing)

Having managed to get past the hanging platforms at the expense of her own chin, Alyssa was now stood at what can only be described as a giant rope swing. There was a crank to pull the rope towards you, which you would then need to swing across an empty space to the platform at the other end. In theory its easy, but Alyssa had already learnt that what you think is easy might not always be the case.

She was taking her time now, determined not to have to rush back to the platform once again and tire herself out. She pulled the rope towards her and took a deep breath, making sure she was completely focused.

"Just a little swing, and hop off, it's so much easier than the last one." Alyssa nodded to herself, she stepped backwards and took a run towards the edge of her current platform. She pushed off at the edge and hooked her feet onto a knot in the rope, thankfully put in to make it easier for you to hold on. She soared through the air, a determined look on her face as she timed her jump off from the rope. She landed neatly on the platform and smiled, picking up her black bag and hopping down onto the safety net to come back to the starting platform happy with another job well done.

(The Hanging Platforms)

Boris now stood at the platforms suspended by ropes. The heir had a similar air of confidence to Alyssa but clearly lacked her athletic prowess. He was jumping rather awkwardly onto each of the platforms, the slip on them being even more obvious than when Alyssa did this as he would slide across most of the platform each time he landed and came dangerously close to sliding off the edge multiple times but somehow managed to hold it together.

"Did you want to do that any slower?" A voice came from behind him which caused Boris' head to snap around. To his horror he saw Yves hopping between the platforms with a practised ease.

"Well you won't be laughing when you slip and fall off!" The boy retorted, slowly jumping once again to the next platform and accidently slipping along on his stomach much like a penguin.

"Is that so?" Yves asked with a cheeky smile as she hopped onto the same platform as him, sans the penguin slide. She leapt past him and onto the next platform, now only a couple of jumps away from the bags at the end.

"It's fine, I'll simply catch up to you somewhere else!" Boris cried, clenching his jaw at being passed.

"Well is this your third bag?" Yves asked with a smile as she untied her bag and waved at Boris who had only just managed to jump onto the next platform. Her words caused Boris' eyes to bug out as she laughed and jumped down onto the safety net, having now completely the majority of the challenges.

"How is she doing it this fast." Boris grumbled as he took his time to complete the last couple of jumps before untying his second bag, leaving him a whole challenge behind the dancer. Not one to be discouraged though, he nevertheless jumped down to the safety net and began his journey back to the start.

(Confessional)

YVES: I'm sorry but that was really funny, he's just so easy to tease that I couldn't help myself. Also it's good to know that I'm ahead of everyone, that just means my chances of winning this challenge are increasing every second.

ALYSSA: By the time I got back to that platform, Yves was literally just bringing in her third bag, I don't know what that girl is doing but she's absolutely beasting the first part of the challenge…

(The Giant Tree)

Iris arrived at the giant tree, the girl looked up with a determined nod, only to see that Amelia was a few branches up the tree, climbing with determination.

"Hi Amelia!" Iris called up to her ex teammate as she pulled herself up onto one of the lower branches. The actress' head turned to see Iris and gave her a wave.

"Hey girl." Amelia smiled, pulling herself up to another branch.

"This challenge is actually kind of fun don't you think?" Iris laughed as she pulled herself up onto another branch, "It's like being a kid again!"

"Definitely." Amelia agreed, not looking back this time to talk to Iris and instead focusing on climbing even higher.

"I used to climb trees with my siblings all the time." Iris said, not really talking to Amelia directly anymore and instead simply talking out into the air. "Of course, until they would fall out of the tree and hurt themselves and I'd have to put them back together." She laughed again at her own memories. While she was talking however she heard a massive SNAP. A branch flew past her eyes as she looked up to see Amelia hanging onto a branch by her fingertips.

"Are you okay?" Iris asked worriedly, carefully but quickly climbing up the branches to try and get to Amelia.

"I'm fine." The actress gritted her teeth and pulled herself up onto the branch she was hanging on to before looking down at Iris, who was now stuck a considerable distance below her thanks to the branch snapping. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry." Amelia gasped, seeing how far down Iris was stuck.

"It's no worries." Iris laughed, shrugging it off, "I'll just have to find another way around, these things happen."

"I'm really sorry again though…" Amelia said, her voice breaking slightly with emotion.

"Honestly don't worry about it." Iris dismissed her, "You carry on getting your bag!"

"Okay… if you're sure, I'm happy to wait!" Amelia added only to be told once again to just carry on by Iris which she reluctantly did.

She soon found her way to the top and claimed her bag before carefully jumping down to the net below, leaving Iris to have to find an alternate route up the massive plant.

(Confessional)

IRIS: What bad luck eh? Oh well, I got myself up there immediately even if it did take way longer than I would have wanted. What can you do though?

AMELIA: (She is smiling in her confessional) I may have accidentally stepped on that branch a little bit too hard and it may have accidentally snapped. I'm sorry Iris but I really didn't want to have you so close on my tail during the challenge. But these things happen I suppose.

(The Starting Platform)

The contestants were all gradually collecting more bags at this point as Kahlin arrived on the platform carrying his fourth bag. A quick glance around told him that nearly everyone was at a similar stage to him with the exceptions of Ashe and Aleena who were currently only at three bags each with them out collecting their fourths.

"It's a tight race…" The boy noted, but not for long as Yves' head appeared at the edge of the platform. The girl who had been in the lead since the beginning had so far kept it as she deposited her fifth bag onto her puzzle table. She took a quick glance around and gave a nod to Kahlin before she emptied her pieces out onto the table.

"Aren't you exhausted?" Kahlin asked with a laugh, shocked at the girl's speed.

"This is nothing compared to rehearsals for a recital." Yves smiled, looking over all of her pieces to try and work out what it is that she was trying to make.

"Fair enough." Kahlin shrugged, not wanting to be left behind, he quickly left down his final path, hoping to do it quick enough to still stand a chance at the puzzle.

The dancer took her time to study the puzzle, using her lead to make sure that she didn't make any silly mistakes. Ashe and Aleena eventually brought their fourth bags and went down to collect their final ones before Yves had even really put any pieces together.

She was forced into action though when Amelia arrived carrying her final bag, Yves' brow furrowed as she heard Amelia emptying her pieces out onto her own table and quickly setting off to work. The rivalry between them was in full force as the two worked to win.

"Your lead was impressive." Amelia noted a look of approval almost on her face, but she didn't show that to Yves, instead keeping her eyes focused on her table.

"You've kept up pretty well though." Yves noted, also keeping her gaze locked onto the puzzle as she slotted a couple of pieces together.

"Got to keep you on your toes." Amelia noted with a small smirk, "Wouldn't want this to be boring for you after all."

"It's much appreciated, hopefully you're not too disappointed though." Yves retorted, the tension between the two ever growing as their banter seemed to turn towards venom. It was soon split up though by the sound of someone else arriving on the platform.

"Ugh finally!" Alyssa sighed, taking a deep breath as she threw her last bag onto her table and began the process of emptying them. "I swear I've fractured my chin or something." She sighed, looking at the puzzle with a look of pure confusion. "And I don't even know what this is…"

Thankfully her arrival caused the other two girls to stop their jousting and instead focus entirely on their puzzle as the two of them slowly slotted pieces together.

(Confessional)

YVES: Amelia's dangerous, so dangerous, and no one else seems to really be noticing it. I mean, she's clearly got that edge that means she's not afraid to do what she needs to get what she wants. Honestly the two of us aren't really all that dissimilar, which is probably why we keep butting heads.

(The Starting Platform)

None of the girls had managed to finish the puzzle, and by now they were joined by many others. Kahlin, Iris and Aleena had all now made it to the platform and were working on the puzzle with varying degrees of success. Kahlin was scratching his head in slight confusion whereas Aleena was just starting at the pieces from a way back, appearing to not even be doing anything.

Iris on the other hand seemed to have an innate understanding of the puzzle and was speedily assembling the pieces. Of course she also had Yves and Amelia, who had much more time than her and were working hard to finish the puzzle. It seemed like it was coming down to the three of them as none of the others looked close to finishing.

The three of them furrowed their brows as they slotted pieces together with accuracy. However, it was one of them who managed to put the final piece in and throw their hands up in celebration.

"I've done it!" The girl who we all know as Iris had finished the puzzle first, coming up from behind to claim the victory from the girls who had arrived ahead of her. Those two girls both sighed with defeat, but Yves was the first to congratulate her friend, pulling her in for a hug.

"Good job Iris." She smiled, looking over at the finished puzzle which was now revealed to be an artistic portrait of Chris and Don sitting on plush thrones in regal attire.

"Haha thanks." The girl laughed, "I guess all that time doing puzzles with the siblings finally paid off.

As she said that, one more contestant joined them all at the platform, breathing heavily to try and catch his breath. Ashe arrived too late to even attempt the puzzle.

"Damn." He sighed as Kahlin helped him to his feet on the platform.

"It's alright." The taller boy assured him, "I'm sure you tried your hardest.

"Congratulations Iris!" Marnie congratulated the girl as she appeared on the platform with them. "You've successfully won this challenge and will be safe from tonights vote! However the rest of you are all eligible to receive votes and one of you will be eliminated." The new host's eyes scanned over them and scowled… "Aren't we missing one of you)

(The Giant Tree)

Boris was indeed missing from the platform because he was instead hanging onto a branch in the giant tree by his underwear… Lets have a replay!

"Come on Boris you can do this!" The heir encouraged himself as he threw himself up to a higher branch, probably much higher than he could physically reach as he soon found out when he missed the branch entirely and instead began falling down through the tree.

"For crying out loud!" He shouted to himself, shielding his face from the branches coming up to meet him. He should have hit the net but instead he stopped suddenly. He breathed a sigh of relief when he realised that he had stopped falling, but his eyes widened when he saw that he was indeed hanging on only by his boxers.

"Ah Boris… But of a predicament there." He heard the voice of Marnie who was appearing over a speaker near him. "We'll come get you soon enough."

"Make it snappy!" He called out harshly, the anger on his face was soon replaced by fear when he heard a rather loud RIP! His underwear could only hold him up for so long as it broke under the pressure, leaving him to fall down to the net, a scrap of fabric all that remained on the branch.

"Or maybe not." Marnie cackled over the speaker as the rich boy's face flushed a deep red.

(Confessional)

IRIS: I can't lie, I'm really happy that I was able to pull off the win there! Hopefully all my siblings can watch this when it airs and see that if their big sis can win things then they can too. I'm just leading by example.

YVES: If I couldn't win, I'm glad that it was Iris, she deserves a victory… although I'm still mad that I completely ruined that lead! I should have won that challenge without a doubt.

ASHE: I guess my tactic of slow and steady didn't really work out. I think this group of people are a bit more aggressive than I thought, I guess that means it might be time for me to step it up, once I figure out how I'm actually going to do that.

BORIS: Erase that footage right now!

(The Kitchen)

Amelia and Boris stood together in the kitchen as Amelia was making herself a drink to warm her up. Boris had been rescued from the tree and taken back to the lodge with everyone else and had so far refused to tell anyone why he took so long to get back to them. Amelia didn't care though, she was much more focused on what to do with the vote, which is how this conversation began.

"It's getting harder to swing a clear majority though." Boris said, rubbing his fingers along his brow, racking his brain for plans.

"But no one is completely aligned with anyone are they? The game's been fluid enough that I think you could feasibly convince anyone to vote out just about anyone. Don't you think?" Amelia countered, "I mean, we managed to convince Kahlin to vote out Damien, so really we could convince say Iris to vote out Yves if we tried."

"So you want to vote out Yves?" Boris asked with a raised brow, inferring from her example what her plans were.

"If it's possible I'd like it." Amelia affirmed, "I mean, she's a challenge threat, and she's not dumb enough to be easily manipulated either."

"You almost sound like you like her." Boris laughed.

"I just have a lot of respect for her." Amelia rolled her eyes. "But that doesn't mean that I want her to stick around in the game.

"Well who do you think we can swing to vote with us?" Boris inquired, raising his eyebrow at his co conspirator.

"I can get Alyssa and Aleena." Amelia said with a shrug, "Even if we couldn't get anyone else we'd still tie it up at least, but I think we could easily convince at least one of the others to vote for Yves don't you think?

"Yeah I mean I can see it." Boris shrugged, "We'll have to give it a go and see won't we." He left the kitchen as Amelia continued to finish making her drink, strategy meeting adjourned.

(Confessional)

AMELIA: I was always taught to strike when the iron's hot and that's exactly what I'm doing now. Yves nearly won that challenge, and there's no telling what the future challenges hold so there's a high chance that she wins and becomes immune. And I just don't like the idea of letting her get further into the game and becoming even more dangerous than she already is. Thankfully Boris knows when to listen and go along with my plans otherwise this could have been very messy.

BORIS: Father always taught me the importance of letting your subordinates speak their mind, and occasionally you should follow their ideas, even if yours is clearly better, because even if it blows up in their faces, you gain their trust and support by giving it to them first. Or at least pretending to. I'll let Amelia call the shots for now, but she won't be for long that's for sure.

(Boys' Bedroom)

Ashe and Kahlin were sat in their bedroom, the two were laying on one bed together, with Kahlin's arm around Ashe's shoulder. The two were sitting in comfortable silence until there was a knock at the door. The two jumped slightly at the sudden sound and disconnected from each other.

"Door's open." Ashe shouted to whoever knocked. Said person quickly opened the door and shut it behind them before walking over to the boys.

"Nice to see you both." Yves smiled, "I know we've spoken in the past about working together, and I'd like for us to keep that momentum moving forwards." She pitched immediately to the boys who nodded along to what she was saying.

"I don't think either of us would be opposed to having more numbers on our side." Kahlin laughed, "The game is getting down to the nitty gritty so we have to make sure we're safe."

"For sure." Ashe agreed, "We can make a good team."

"I'm glad we're all on the same page then." Yves nodded contently, "Did either of you have a name in mind for this vote or would you mind if I suggested one of my own?"

"As long as you're not going to suggest me." Kahlin laughed, flashing Yves a cheeky grin.

"Not quite yet." Yves laughed back, "I want to target Amelia." Her tone flipped suddenly, becoming much more serious than it was before.

"Any particular reason for that?" Ashe asked with an inquisitive raise of his brow, "I'm not opposed or anything, I'd just like to know what your thought process is."

"She's just a threat don't you think?" Yves shrugged, "I mean I know I did well in this challenge but it was completely suited to my skills, Amelia still kept up with me all the way. And I think she's smarter than she lets on."

"I can see that." Kahlin nodded, "Her eyes look like they're hiding something all the time."

"How do you even tell that?" Ashe asked with a giggle,

"Maybe I'll teach you one day." Kahlin said with a small smile before turning back to Yves, "How do you intend to get the numbers though?"

"Well us three, plus Iris is four, and that's half of us, I would imagine the other four wouldn't be able to organise and get a single name out together, so Amelia would go home by default."

"It makes sense." Ashe nodded, coming to agree with Yves' reasoning in his head.

"So we'll work to get Amelia out?"

"Sounds like a plan." Kahlin confirmed.

"Good." Yves smiled, "So now tell me all about the two of you." She giggled like a schoolgirl as both Kahlin and Ashe's faces flashed a bright red.

(Confessional)

KAHLIN: I'm glad to actually feel like there's a level of security in this vote, lately it's just felt like I'm always in the middle or floating around the bottom, and now I feel like I might have actually made a decision that'll shape the course of the game. Rather exciting don't you think?

ASHE: Are Kahlin and I really that obvious? I mean we've been trying to keep it on the downlow…

(The Lounge)

Alyssa and Aleena were sat on the sofa together, they were currently looking through some photos on Aleena's camera that she had managed to take recently.

"I really like this one of you." Aleena giggled, showing Alyssa a photo of her in the cafeteria eating her breakfast.

"Wow I look so flattering." Alyssa rolled her eyes playfully,

"That's what makes it so good." Aleena giggled, "I think I'll put that one in my scrapbook."

"I thought you were making a film?" Alyssa questioned.

"Well I can multitask." The filmmaker laughed, "I think a scrapbook will be just the right personal thing for me to remember this experience by."

"Yeah it will be." Alyssa agreed with a nod, "Send me any good photos of myself."

"You know it." Aleena nodded, continuing to scroll through the photos on the camera. Their little session was interrupted when Amelia stuck her head through the door.

"Hey girlies." Amelia smiled at them.

"Oh hey Amelia." Alyssa greeted her, "Fancy seeing you here."

"I know right, what a coincidence." Amelia laughed, "You girls got a minute?"

"Always for you." Aleena nodded.

"Care to discuss the vote with me then?" The actress moved to sit on the other sofa to chat with them.

"You want to vote Yves right?" Alyssa asked with a little smirk.

"Um… yeah." Amelia seemed shocked at Alyssa's sudden suggestion, "How did you know?"

"We can all feel the tension…" Aleena admitted, "You two are either going to get into a scrap or make out and we honestly just don't know which."

"Well we wouldn't make out." Amelia scoffed, "She's so not my type."

"Then time for you to get in a fight right?" Alyssa asked with a grin, "Can I be the referee?"

"Let's just focus on voting her out for now." Amelia laughed, "The three of us, and Boris makes four, so we'd only have to flip one other person. Do you think one of you could convince Ashe or Kahlin?"

"Um, I don't think I've ever really spoken to either of them." Aleena grimaced, "I really should work on that."

"I can talk to Ashe." Alyssa said, "Don't know what he'll say but I'll give it a try."

"That's all we can ask for." Amelia nodded, "Now we've got that sorted, show me some of these photos then?" The actress grinned as Aleena happily began showing Amelia some of her favourite photos.

(Confessional)

ALEENA: I really do need to step up my social game, we're getting to the point now where a lack of connections will be the reason that you get voted out, because people can't get the numbers to safely vote out anyone else, and I don't want that to be me.

ALYSSA: I like that Amelia trusts us enough to talk strategy, I feel like we haven't really been doing that lately and although I couldn't care less about it, I know that you need it for the game. Just a few more rounds before I can give this act up though.

(The Cafeteria)

Iris was sitting in the cafeteria enjoying her victory with a well deserved cup of coffee, currently she was just warming her hands up with the mug, her fingers still slightly cold from all of the time spent up in the trees outside. She was just taking her first sips when Kahlin walked in to sit with her.

"Hey Iris." The man greeted her with a smile as he took the seat opposite her. Always happy to have company, Iris smiled warmly back and flashed him a smile.

"Hey Kahlin, nice to see you." she greeted him, "What's the occasion?"

"I wish it was a personal visit but alas I think we're getting too close to the vote for that." He laughed, grateful for Iris' understanding nod at his remark.

"I had assumed as much." Iris shrugged, "This never gets any easier does it?"

"No, I don't think so." Kahlin agreed with a sigh, "I don't suppose Yves has already spoken to you?"

"Um no she hasn't." Iris shook her head, looking slightly concerned if only for the fear of the unknown.

"Well I suppose I shall bring the news to you. She wants to target Amelia tonight, and we were hoping you would work with us on this one?"

"Amelia?" Iris took a second to mull it over in her head, "Alright, I'm okay with that. I mean, we're not super close, and I'd rather that Yves stayed in the game."

"I'm glad you see it that way." Kahlin smiled happily, "Frankly I feel the same way, some I'm glad that we can reach an agreement there."

"Was there anything else you wanted to talk about with the vote then?" Iris asked

"I don't think so, no." Kahlin admitted, shaking his head slightly.

"Well then, would you care to sit with me for a while? We can just talk about something other than the game for a while, I'd like to at least do something else for a little while today."

"That sounds lovely." Kahlin nodded, "I would gladly keep you company." He grinned at Iris as she took another sip of her coffee.

(Confessional)

IRIS: It was nice of Kahlin to come up and talk to me about the vote, and even nicer for him to sit and chat with me about nothing for a while. I think eventually this game just turns into a strategy-fest, and while I understand that that's the game, I still would much prefer to get to know everyone and just spend time having a nice chat. Call me old fashioned like that I guess.

(The Porch)

Boris stood on the porch, staring out into the horizon with a look of peace on his face, a rare look for him.

"After tonight, you'll be more than halfway to the end." He muttered to himself, "You're more than halfway to winning and attaining glory…" His affirmations were quiet, barely above a whisper, which is why Yves did not hear him when she stepped onto the porch to join him. He quickly stopped his muttering and turned to face her. "Yves." He nodded towards her.

"Boris." She replied in kind, the conversation as icy as the snow around them.

"Social call or something else?"

"Something else."

"Spit it out then." Boris sighed, "If you're coming to me, you must be desperate." He laughed slightly as Yves took a breath of indignation.

"Not desperate, simply seeking to solidify the result I want." Yves replied coolly, flicking her hair slightly behind her shoulder.

"And you want to do that with me?" Boris asked with a raised brow

"I'm not the kind of person to burn my bridges, even if I don't have any intentions to cross them."

"Poetic." Boris scoffed, "But I'm not the kind of person to shut you down without hearing you out so go ahead."

"I want to take out Amelia." Yves was to the point, matter of fact. Boris kept his face neutral at her statement, wanting to make sure that Yves didn't sniff out their own alliance.

"Okay." He took a second to think before responding. "Are you sure that's the smartest move for you though? Genuinely?"

"Why wouldn't it be?" Yves asked with a scowl.

"I mean think about it." Boris began, "You and Amelia are frankly quite similar, you're both capable in multiple facets of the game, and the fact is that if Amelia goes home, the only person left who can be seen as such a clear and decisive threat is… well you."

That information seemed to shock Yves, it wasn't something that she had taken into account and she wasn't quite sure how to react.

"So I would personally go for a different name, maybe one of Amelia's closer allies, because then you're going to weaken her while still keeping a shield in the game for you to hide behind, you know?"

"And you would be okay with voting for someone like that too?" Yves questioned the heir who shrugged,

"I don't see why not, as long as my name doesn't come up because I can't lie, I've been rather bored with that lately."

"Yeah that's understandable." Yves acknowledged, "Well, thank you for the talk, it's been more enlightening than I thought it would be."

"Glad to be of service." Boris replied as Yves walked back into the warmth of the lodge.

(Confessional)

BORIS: Really it just comes down to the fact that I would rather Amelia didn't get votes at all. She's a guaranteed vote on my side and of course, taking out one of her allies could work out in my favour if it pushed her closer to me, or it could cause her to cut me off completely if she found out that I played a role in her elimination… It's a tough line to walk.

YVES: I never thought the day would come where I'd say that Boris caused me to question myself and change my ideas but maybe today is that day. He brings up some good points and you can't ignore that Amelia is currently performing the closest to my level, but also the longer you leave her in, the more chances she has to take me out too! Ugh this game can get so complex sometimes!

(The Elimination Ceremony)

Marnie had gathered the eight remaining contestants at the elimination ceremony, all of them sat on their tree stumps with looks of nervousness, well some of them were nervous, Iris and Boris in particular seemed more relaxed than the others.

"Welcome guys!" Marnie greeted them with a large smile, "I hope you're excited, because after tonight, you will officially have halved the amount of people since we started! It's getting to the end of the game now, and the million dollars is getting even closer right?" The contestants all nodded, silently recognising the gravitas of their situation.

"But of course we won't get there unless you vote someone out, so let's get down to it. You all know the rules by now, everyone votes, everyone is eligible to receive votes except for Iris because she won the challenge. You'll all receive a snow globe yadda yadda except the person who doesn't, you're eliminated. It's all very simple! Kahlin, please cast the first vote."

Kahlin nodded and stood up, walking over to the voting booth.

ALEENA: Nothing personal, it's just the game.

KAHLIN: Here's hoping this one works out in my favour, it's all down to fate now.

IRIS: Boy am I glad to have immunity right now, because this vote could get messy…

(The Elimination Ceremony)

"Alright! I've got the votes!" Marnie started with a smile, "If you receive a snow globe, you are of course safe for another night. And to start us off, Iris you can have yours."

The girl caught her snow globe with a smile but looked over at the others with a worried look.

"Boris, Ashe, the two of you are safe as well." They caught their snow globes thankfully.

"Kahlin and Aleena, the two of you are also safe." That left just Yves, Amelia and Alyssa.

"Amelia… you're also safe." The actress caught the snow globe with a sigh of relief, which soon turned into shock as she realised that Alyssa still hadn't received hers.

"Yves, Alyssa, one of you is going home…" The two girls looked at each other with understanding, knowing that it wasn't anything personal, just the game.

"The person going home tonight is…

Alyssa." Marnie threw the final snow globe at Yves who caught it thankfully as Alyssa nodded with a smile on her face.

"Well that was a bit of a shock." She laughed as she stood up, "It was nice while it lasted guys, have fun going forward and don't forget to give it your all."

"Alyssa." Amelia stood up and walked to her friend, "I'm so sorry…"

"Don't worry about it, it's the game isn't it?" She replied with a laugh as Aleena also stood up.

"One last photo?" The filmmaker asked the others, friends and now former alliance mates. The girls all posed as Aleena snapped a photo, her and Amelia then proceeded to sit back down as Marnie took back over.

"Very touching." She smiled, "But now it's time for Alyssa to go, I'll see the rest of you soon for the next challenge."

(The Top of the Mountain)

Marnie and Alyssa were standing at the top of the mountain, the latter already in her skiing gear, and you could tell even under the helmet and mask that she was absolutely buzzing for this.

"I get to go all the way down the mountain?" She asked with childlike glee.

"Um yeah, that sure is the way." Marnie nodded.

"Awesome! See you at the bottom!" Alyssa shouted as she immediately threw herself off the edge of the mountain and shot down it, giggling all the while.

"Well… that was uneventful." Marnie shrugged, "But with Alyssa going, we are officially down to seven people left in the running to win! We're halfway to the end, so I hope you're all ready for what's left because it's good!"

"Will the rivalry between Yves and Amelia reach its conclusion?"

"Will the boys manage to draw evenly with the girls for the first time in this competition?"

"And will Kyle the intern ever get here with my coffee! Seriously, he's been gone for hours. Find out next time on Total!"

"Drama!"

"Audacious Alpines!"

And there we have it! Alyssa is the next contestant to face the ski. I really loved writing for her and I felt that she would be a really good person to go early in the merge as we give way to same players who are starting to turn a lot more strategic! Thank you to Supreme Kai of Booty for letting me write her and I hope I did her justice :)

We've got seven left, and the story is only going to get more intense from here so I hope you're all ready for that! See you all in the next chapter!

Much Love
