A/N: Ok, new chappy. Possibly will be like...long. That'd be nice. Nah, it won't be, knowing me...
Plus I've got huge writers block issues.
So! I've decided that - is the new asterisk! -smiles- k?
Anyways, Cannonball?
C: Oh yes. While I firmly maintain that you should know this already, neither LIS or me own anything. While we wish we owned New Orleans and Velgarth, we unfortunately do not. Meow! Velgarth is the property of Misty Lackey, and New Orleans is the property of...the US??
LIS: So, I'm moving reviewer thank you to the end, and shall type the chapter now.
Plus I'm dropping the accent. It's annoying me. You all can just imagine it, k???

"What..." Daisy trailed off. Then she muttered, "Lord! I actually thought a horse talked to me... I must be going' crazy."
:You're not crazy.:
"Lord, I am crazy," she said. Unfortunately, she said it louder this time, as she realized when her friends started giving her some really weird looks.
:Daisy, come with me. Please.:
In spite of herself, she felt herself coming slowly towards the horse.
:I'm not a horse.: The voice in her mind was flavored with laughter, this time, and gentle chiding. Daisy felt compelled to trust this-this creature, despite herself-
:Please, Daisy, we need to go.: She noticed the strained look on whoever it was that was next to- Ysabel, something inside her supplied.
:Yes yes yes, that's my name, Chosen, but we really must go.:
She ran the last few steps to the horse-Companion, that same something told her. She ignored the increasingly disturbing looks she was getting from her friends, the pained expression on the man next to Ysabel-
:Kit, love.:
Thanks, she thought, somehow knowing that her Companion would hear her, and never stopping her run.
Finally, she reached the Companion at the end of the alleyway. She stopped and put a hand on it-her-and saw Kit doing the same. He got a distant look in his eyes, and she had the strangest sensation- as if she were seeing, from another perspective, the very stuff that the world was made out of. It was a great fabric, stretched out in front of her, and she felt herself- no, not herself,- reach out and tug strands of that fabric-
-And then she was shaken out of that sensation, and into another one entirely.
A quite unpleasant one, for that matter.
She was ripped up from the ground, hurtled along in a space of nothingness, quite violently, and she fought the urge to throw up then and there-
-but then it was over, just as suddenly, and almost as violently, and she was in a quite different place.
In place of the dirty, loud, so-hot streets of New Orleans, she was in a quiet little grove in some woods somewhere...
And it was cold, compared to the burning hot of the city she was just in. She shivered involuntarily.
Then, the inevitable question: "Where am I?"
