Losing Faith

She used to go to church, as a little girl. It was the only place she felt safe in her dark world. She spent many nights there, afraid to face her abusive father.
Church was her haven. She believed God would always protect her, and that things would get better.
But they never did. Her mother died when she was "accidentally" stabbed, and her father got locked away in jail. She was shuffled between numerous foster parents, never finding the love she needed.
She vowed never to step foot in a church again. God betrayed her. Just like everyone else.
